So, does that mean you're playing him before the helmet for the origin part if he doesn't get the helmet until after the League has formed?

Damn, didn't think of that. Yes. How long ago is the origin part?

It's in the first RP post I did the other day. 15 years, lol. If you look under "In character RPing" I set up the scene. I also mentioned it in the interest thread -- the origin part covers a five year period leading up to the official formation of the Justice League. Then the sidekick part takes place ten years after that.

Alright, sorry. It's kind of been a nutsy weekend of college partying for me.

Also, if my mentor character is Dr. Fate himself, can I document his time as Kent Nelson for the flashback portion?

Sure, but he'd probably be a bit older if he was part of the Justice Society in the 1940s.

So.... If Ted Kord already found the scarab in Egypt, then how did it fall from the sky like a meteor???

@JW Suzusihi[/URL] is referring to how, in most versions of canon, Kords death led to the scarab leaving his corpse and falling back to earth, only to be found by young Jaime Reyes. So, I think he wants to use Kord in the flashback phase, but have him be dead in the present. A big part of Jaime's character Arc is the lack of a direct mentor, in a lot of situations.

Hmm... I want to create another character but not sure whether to do a Booster Gold sidekick or a Green Lantern one. Got ideas for both...

How exactly did this alternate Booster Gold make it between dimensions? And how and when did the main Booster Gold travel back in time?

How Alternate Michael survived is somewhat unknown, either his armour's shields saved him, which is plausible since the power source is very powerful, or he was saved by some greater force like a Cosmic entinity or a time traveler, which is more likely. Then he was pretty much aimlessly floating through the space between realities with his suit's shields protecting him on low power but having to keep him unconscious. He then slipped into this reality through aa small crack caused by time travel technology or something.

Booster was working at a museum for heroes in the 25th century. Whilst there he got the idea to become a hero in the past with future technology and become famous. He then took a few items from the museum and fashioned them into the Booster Gold suit and used it to travel back to the start of the Justice League so as to become a member when they were founded. His later reckless meddling with time travel travel has caused small cracks in the reality of the universe that things can bleed through into from outside of this reality and has also caused him to age at a slower rate, such that he still appears to be in his late twenties, despite being around forty.

Is this ok?

I should probably explain my decision to leave Ted Kord alive. Leaving Kord alive will allow for slightly more realistic character motivations for Jaime. Allowing him to build a slight relationship with Kord before he's killed will give the young man a reason to fight other then his family. Also I figured that the Scarab, being of Reach tech, could easily have made Kord a target for the Reach during the prologue section of the RP. Maybe the Reach could be what ultimately kills Kord, Giving Jaime more reason to eventually fight against them.

As to how the Scarab comes into Jaime's hands, that might take a bit of work. Maybe during some kind of attack Kord, realizing the Scarab had somehow attracted unwanted attention, ejects it into the upper atmosphere hoping to destroy it. This leads it to eventually crashing down in El Paso and in Reyes' posession.

Sorry if that's all a bit weird. I was thinking since the RP takes place in an alternate universe I'd be able to mess around with Origins and stuff. I was also thinking I'd give a lot of the exposition during the RP. I really hope I didn't stray to far from the source material for the RP.

I'll make a character later for this I'm thinking a young Kyle Rayner Green Lantern since I get to play around with really random constructs example Hal would carry the team in space with a green bubble but Kyle once created a giant detailed pirate ship with waves and seagulls. Just need to come up with a backstory for how he gets the ring since we might not want the whole Hal kills the Green Lantern Corps after getting possessed by parallax thing. Mentor character likely will use Hal lol. Also considering using Black Bat Cassandra Cain/Wayne (might use Wayne since was adopted by Bruce and it could hide the fact her actual Father is the league of Assassins member David Cain) as a character that doesn't talk much due to her knowing a small number of words due to her father only teaching her fighting skills growing up while never teaching her how to talk and read. Also Robin and Batgirl only movie night picture lol

What is this threat that destroyed his dimension? If it can eradicate an entire universe full of trillions of stars, planets, and galaxies, then it will likely travel to other dimensions. And what is the nature of this space between the dimensions? What is the nature of the rip that he falls through?

One idea is instead of having this rip that appears with no explanation, you could have his suit equipped with an experimental teleportation drive and when he tries to transport himself away to avoid the destruction of Earth, the blast catches him before he fully dematerializes, which phases his atoms into an alternate vibrational frequency, and when his physical form reassembles, he discovers hes on an alternate Earth. Just an idea :) .

No, that's fine, I was just curious how the scarab fell from the sky if Kord found it decades earlier. Though, since the sidekick part doesn't happen until ten years after the League forms, I'm not sure in what capacity you'd want to use Kord in the prologue. Perhaps the scarab was found in Bialya instead, and Kord is on a dig site there when the Civil War breaks out?

If you play Hal in the prologue, you could have him as an air force pilot or something and he gets dragged into the civil war. It is Abin Sur's ship that sparks it, after all, lol.

Ok not a problem he can be a US airforce pilot that gets dragged into the battle by the ring but make sure the ring picked him because he was closer to the crash then Guy Gardner, but that's not really important for this roleplay but the ring picking Guy and Hal but going to Hal for being closer is somewhat important because it happened in the comics.

Yeah, that's why I suggested Hal Jordan being air force -- then he has a reason to be in that part of the world.

Hal Jordan could be stationed at a nearby air base. Maybe the US is aiding Queen Bee's rebels and that's why Hal is in Bialya.

We could basically have a version of "the Light" that is behind some of the events playing out. United States President Lionel Luthor allies himself with Queen Bee, who the media paints as a noble, heroic leader fighting for equality in Bialya. Ra's al Ghul trained Queen Bee when she fled her home as a teenager, so that brings those three together.

At first, Lex Luthor despises his father's role as a war monger and wants to bring peace to the world, but over the course of the prologue Lex gradually embraces his dark side, ultimately becoming even worse than his father.

That does seem like a better idea, yeah.

Okay, so these are all awesome characters everyone has created, but I notice some discrepancies with the plot I described in the Interest thread. Please read that over and make sure your characters fit in :) .
