Carmen sighed quietly as she pulled up to the scrap yard and got out, getting Javi out of his booster seat and let him run off to go find Angel while she waddled behind. She was five months pregnant now with their second and completely run off her feet. Her and Angel had gotten married finally but it felt like since then they’d not had a moment of peace and quiet just as a family. “Javi if you trip up you’re gonna scrape your-“ she stopped when she watched him trip over a spanner someone had left lying out and saw him go splat, starting to cry immediately “oh dear... come on, let’s get inside get you cleaned up.” She smiled, taking him into the club house seeing Angel sat with Coco and Gilly “hey handsome.... someone fell over a spanner.” She mumbled, taking him to get sat down while Chucky got them the first aid kit and she thanked him.

Ivar was waiting outside the school gates for Lily to come out and just tried to make sure he had some space to see the gates. They had made their move to denmark six months after he had been discharged and it had been the best move possible for them. They were no longer struggling to pay medical bills or any bills for that matter and he was staying home full time to look after Lily and do some consultant work on his own schedule. The school was an easy bus ride away and he was happier than he’d been in a very long time. He finally saw his little girl come running over to him and smiled. “Hey sweetheart, you have a good day?” He asked her, taking her bag onto his lap while he waved to her teacher to let her know he was taking her home. “Your mom is working later so I thought we could get pizza tonight.” He suggested. She looked more and more like her mother every single day and he couldn’t be prouder of them both.

Max sat at the studio she was working at now giving a heavy sigh doing her best to meet this deadline for a magazine that could be an even bigger break for her. Moving Denmark was a huge step for her and was difficult at first. Adjusting to the language and being away from family was tough but now she was happy there. Her relationship with Ivar had never been better and she had never been happier. Her job was keeping her pretty busy these days but when they had time to themselves her and Ivar were busy trying to give Lily a sibling. She had gotten pregnant a few months after they got there but had lost it not too long afterwards.

Angel looked over at Carmen and smiled softly seeing her and chuckled seeing Javi "Oh Mijo you gotta watch out." He murmured thanking Chuck when he got Javi the first aid kit. Things had been going good for him and Carmen as of late, though he knew they needed some time away from the club. Things with Adelita had just about exploded for a lack of a better term and he was not in their child's life because he had been taken into the system. He was not happy about it and still thought about him frequently but he knew there was nothing he could do about it.

Carmen sat down and lifted her feet up onto an empty chair watching her boys some. “We just came by to say hi. Also to drop mister clumsy here with uncle EZ cause we have a sonogram.” She reminded Angel, smiling as the realisation hit his face. “Daddy’s good at forgetting things huh?” She smiled as Javi giggled and nodded. She watched him get down once he’d got cleaned up and run off to go find EZ in the garage escorted by Chucky while she reached for Angels hands. “How’s my hubby doing?” She asked him quietly once he was sat down next to her, placing his hand over her bump where the baby was kicking. She’d not had as big a belly with Javi and this time round had been much smoother sailing so far. “You still want another boy?” She smiled.

Lily helped her dad get on the bus and sat next to him the whole way home, almost falling asleep by the time they got to their stop and she helped him off again walking til they got to their house and she ran in to go play with the cat while Ivar went to the kitchen and called max.

“Hey beautiful. We just got home. I’m ordering pizza, what do you want for yours?” He asked her. “I’ll make sure she gets carrot sticks too” he promised before she could even say anything. He knew she stressed all the time and the more he could do for her to alleviate that the better it was for both of them. He got her order off of her and said goodbye then hung up, only to call her back hours later, right about when she would be finally leaving the studio but this time it was Lily’s voice on the other end.

“Mommy?! Daddy fell out his chair and he’s not moving.” She cried down the phone. She’d gone to bed an hour ago but came out for a cup of water and she had found him like that in the kitchen

Angel looked at her confused then went wide eyed "Shit that is today huh?" He murmured smiling as he felt the baby kick once she was sat next to him "Mmm I'm not sure actually, I think a little princess would be good to have." He said softly kissing her cheek gently and smiling more "You want another boy?"

Max answered the phone when Ivar called and smiled happily hearing his voice "Mmmm thank you babe, I'll be home as soon as I can." She said softly before she hung up and went back to work. She was closing up for the night when she received another call from Ivar. She went wide eyed hearing Lily's scared voice down the line "Lily? Baby call 911 okay? Mommy is on her way home now." She said quickly before she rushed to the car and rushed home. Once there she got in going straight to Ivar checking him over.

She shook her head. “I’m ready for a little girl. I love my boys but I want a little princess.” She smiled, rubbing her bump, “Do you have a run tonight?” She asked hopefully. “Cause Javi was fussing about you putting him to bed.... told me he won’t go to bed if you’re not home.” She sighed. “I’ve made an appointment for him, I don’t wanna treat him any different but if he’s autistic I want to know so I can help.” She sighed a little. He’d been so much slower at reaching all the milestones compared to the other kids around him and he seemed to tick all the boxes.

The paramedics had arrived just before her and were already there while Lily stood in the corner of the kitchen crying and reached for her mom once she came over. “I want daddy!” She cried loud, watching them work on him until she was moved out the room. “I don’t know what happened. I just wanted water.”

Angel smiled some and gave a nod kissing her gently before shaking his head some "No I'm free tonight." He murmured giving a sigh when she mentioned his appointment "I hope they're able to figure it out." He said softly

Max rushed to Lily and pulled her close shaking her head some "Its okay sweetheart I promise, daddy is going to be just fine." She said softly trying to soothe her and get her calmed dowm moving her out of the way

Carmen smiled some. “Good. I’ll do something decent for dinner.” She told him. “Javi still only wants sausage mash and peas.” She mumbled. “I’m sure they will.” She mumbled and kissed his cheek, getting up when it was time for them to leave for the appointment and she let him drive her car. “I talked to Bishop.... said he might be able to spare you next month for us to go away for a weekend.” She told him. “Get some us time in.... I know I need it before baby comes.”

Ivar next came around with Lily by his side and max in a chair by his bed and looked over at his wife frowning. “It happen again?” He asked her quietly, coughing a little to clear his throat.

Angel smiled softly chuckling a bit and kissed her cheek "Mmm get some steaks from pops if you want, I'm sure he would love to see Javi." He murmured kissing her gently this time and smiling more "Where do you want to go? You pick and I'll take us there." He said quietly

Max looked away from the TV and muted it before giving a small nod "Lily found you...she is scared to death." She said quietly giving a heavy sigh. He had been having black out moments frequently these past few months and it was getting worriesome

She smiled and nodded, leaning back while he drove them to their appointment and took deep breaths. “Oh oh oh.... Yknow.... I’m really happy... that I got barely any morning.... sickness but I wasn’t excited for it to be.... to be replaced with braxton hicks.” She groaned breathing through a set of false contractions until it settled. “You doing okay babe? I know we’ve barely had a moment to ourselves lately but I do know when my hubby isn’t his usual self.” She murmured while he parked as clos as they could get.

Ivar frowned some and watched his little girl sleeping next to him. “Did you get those photos sorted?” He asked her quietly, not
Really wanting to have to think about getting worse the way he was.

Angel frowned softly and reached over rubbing her bump gently and sighed heavily placing the hand on the wheel when she settled. He gave a heavy sigh shaking his head some "Lots of club shit, things are getting tight at the border." He mumbled taking another deep breath "Shoo if this shit would just settle like it was."

Max gave a small nod and sighed softly kissing his hand gently "Yeah I did, they look great and I'm excited." She said softly biting her lip gently "They're saying if this goes well they'll want me in a big fashion shoot."

She frowned and just nodded watching him quietly. “Mmkay... you know I worry about you.” She murmured, kissing his cheek and eventually got out the car when it was time for their appointment, heading inside and keeping hold of his hand while she was set up in a room and told to just wait for the tech to come through. She lay there rubbing her bump though and smiling at Angel. “Try to forget about everything else.” She murmured.

Ivar smiled and nodded while he listened to her. “That sounds... fantastic.” He smiled watching her. “I’m so proud of you.... yknow that?” He asked quietly but frowned as he felt the muscle spasms in his back start up. “Move her. Quick.” He managed to get out as his whole upper body seized up. He wasn’t have seizures but he often got the most painful muscle spasms throughout his body and those too we’re getting worse.

Angel gave a small smile "I'm good querida, promise." He murmured before pulling into the parking lot of the doctors office. He held her hand the entire time smiling widely when he heard his baby's heartbeat echo through the room "You want to keep the gender a secret?"

Max gave a small smile and nodded softly "Yeah its exciting." She said happily kissing his cheek gently. She frowned and quickly moved Lily out of the way cradling her close "You need me to call someone?" She asked quietly

Carmen nodded and held onto his hand tightly. “No I wanna know. The whole club wants to know.” She murmured while they got Angel a stool to sit on and she held onto his arm tiredly, finally seeing the tech come in and just stayed quiet while they got her set up, watching the screen and smiled at their little one. ‘Everything’s looking good, theyre still a little underweight but nothing concerning and... I can confirm for you that.... you are having a girl.’ She looked up at Angel, smiling some seeing him crying. “You excited?” She murmured. He’d missed out on all of this with Javi but this time he was right there with her through all the exciting bits.

He couldn’t respond by that point as the spasms continued for another couple minutes before stopping and he lay there gasping for air, struggling to even see straight as the room was spinning.

Angel chuckled softly giving a small nod before he thanked the technician for the stool and sat down. He smiled wide seeing their baby pop up on the screen a felt a few tears fall as he heard them say it was a girl "We're having a girl Carmen.....I'm fucked." He said laughing a bit before wiping his eyes

Max frowned softly and pressed the call button for a nurse.to look him over when he didn't respond. She looked over at the nurse when she came in just as he got through them and sifhed heavily "Back spasms, could we get his pain meds upped just a bit?" She asked softly

She smiled and gave his hand a squeeze, resting her head against his. “She’s gonna have you so whipped.” She murmured, thanking the tech who went to print the sonograms while she had a few minutes alone with Angel, kissing him gently. “I love you.” She murmured quietly, letting him help her wipe the gel off then got up and leaned up against him, resting her head against his chest.

She moved max out of the way while they got Ivar situated. “You need to call us soon as they start.” She told her frowning when Ivar still couldn’t breathe and he wasn’t responding to her voice at all. “Ma’am you need to leave the room.” She told her as she pressed the emergency button and Lily was starting to wake up.

Angel helped wipe off the goo from her belly giving a nod "She sure is." He said quietly and held onto her sighing happily "I love you too Carmen." He said softly before kissing the top of her head "You think Javi will be excited to have a sister?"

Max gave a small nod holding their daughter close and sighing softly. She frowned though when they told her to leave and quickly made her way out of the room sitting on a bench and waiting while Lily woke up "Hey princess....how are you?"

She nodded tiredly and thanked the tech who brought her sonogram photos back, heading out to the car with him once they were done. “I love you.... you ready to be a daddy again?” She smiled. She knew something was still bothering him but she wasn’t gonna pry at the moment.

Lily frowned rubbing at her face and looked up at her mom “where’s daddy gone?” She asked her quietly. “I want daddy.” She mumbled, still half asleep when they rolled Ivar out of the room and down the hall, towards the elevator and he still wasn’t breathing enough by himself.

Angel gave a small nod and sighed heavily as he got into the car with her "I saw Adelita the other day....I asked about the kid....hadn't ever asked but I thought I would....she said he was dead..." he said quietly before putting his head to the steering wheel "I know....I know she didn't want me in their life but...it still hurts."

Max held her close and took a deep breath "The doctors have to help him baby." She said quietly shielding her eyes as they rolled Ivar out of the room looking at the nurse who had stayed behind with worried eyes "Whats happening?"

Carmen frowned more and reached over, rubbing big circles on his back. “Shh hey it’s alright... are you sure she’s telling the truth?” She asked him quietly

His nurse shook her head “They’re taking him for some scans.... ma’am he shouldn’t be deteriorating like he has been. He’s getting weaker and they’re concerned that it hasn’t been investigated properly. The extent of the damage.... they’ll be able to tell you more within the hour.” She assured her.

Angel took a deep breath and shook his head a bit "No,I got no fucking clue with her anymore but if she is...I don't know...it hurts. I wanted to be there, she didn't want me there and I had to keep you safe. " he said quietly

Max nodded softly and gave a heavy sigh shaking her head a bit "You hungry pumpkin?" She asked quietly kissing the top of Lily's head gently

She frowned and leaned over, kissing his cheek. “You wanna go home?” She asked him quietly and rubbed his back. “Pick up Javi and just go chill? I’ll order some pizza tonight.” She suggested and gave his hand a squeeze, worrying about him.

Ivar next woke up late into the evening and looked over seeing max sitting there but no Lily. “She with Saffy?” He asked quietly, meaning Lily’s best friend. “My chest hurts.... and my back.” He mumbled reaching for her hand. “I love you.”

Angel gave a small nod and sighed heavily "Yeah...that sounds good." he said quietly before placing a hand on her stomach giving another sigh "I just want my family to be safe." he whispered before he pulled out of the parking lot and drove back to the clubhouse to get Javi.

Max gave a small nod and sighed softly kissing his cheek gently "Yeah her mom was more than willing to take her." she said softly giving a heavy sigh "I know baby, the doctor will be in soon with all your test results and x-rays." she explained before kissing his cheek gently

She nodded in agreement, waiting in the car once they got there and let him go get Javi, heading back home once her boys were in the car again. She’d just put Javi to bed in his room late in the evening and headed out to the lounge in some jogging bottoms and one of his shirts, sitting on his lap and leaning back into him, keeping his arms wrapped around her and hugging them tight. “I love you Angel.... very much so.” She murmured.

He just nodded a little and gripped at her hand. “You doing okay?” He asked her quietly, managing to scoot over to give her space to sit next to him and just cuddled her close, looking to the door when his doctor walked in to speak with them.

Angel went through the rest of the night with his family staying quiet for the most part. He gave a heavy sigh as Carmen came to sit with him and instantly pulled her close to him "I love you too Carmen." He said quietly while he let his hands fall to her bump rubbing soft circles on it

Max moved to sit next to him and gave a small sigh holding him the best she could. She looked up as the doctor came in and bit her bottom lip hard from anticipation of what could be wrong with her husband

“It’s not good news I’m afraid. Your spinal cord is damaged beyond repair but unfortauntelg it’s continuing to damage itself and It’s spreading up. You’re getting muscle spasms because you’re continuing to lose mobility. Within three years you will be fully paralysed from the neck down.... once it reaches your brain however then it becomes six months or so left to live. And that’s living with constant assistance.” He told them. “For now, you can go home with painkillers and physio appointments to help you but beyond that.... all we can do is monitor you.” He told them both and left them to privacy “Your nurse will bring your discharge papers in the morning.” He said as he walked out.

Ivar continued laying there staring at the wall as he took in the information, just gripping her hand right.

Carmen frowned and just stayed close. “Tell me what I can to do to help you feel better.” She told him gently, not liking how he was. “Oh, Javi said you two are going to the park tomorrow right?” She asked him.
