“Tsukuyomi, you’re with me..” That is not something he wanted to hear. The last time Eagle dragged Tsukuyomi to a mission after they finally touched the plant they called earth again, Tsukuyomi blew chunks. Eagle does not lie that he wants to be there first on the scene. During the fight there, Tsukuyomi and Eagle had a conversation to break the awkward silence. By the time they got there the fire was bigger than they thought. The flames were coming out of various windows but luckily ¼ of the building wasn't on fire yet. The building was a middle size apartment complex surrounded by a mom-and-pop shop, that is across the street, and other apartment complexes like it on the left and the right of it.

Tsukuyomi gets dropped off, holding in his breakfast. Eagle goes off and does his thing. Tsukuyomi channels some of the darkness in the area to his location to create some shade. 10 shades armed with bo staffs rise from the darkness. They are about 6 feet tall with the appearance of a samurai with no face. Tsukuyomi makes his shades move into position to block off the road, three to the left and the right. The other four are used to make sure no one gets too close to the fire. As the shades are getting in position, Tsukuyomi is loudly warning people “Everyone needs to get back to ensure their safety.”

Over coms, Tsukuyomi says, “What’s everyone's ET?” *chatter of the coms* “Great everything is secure and good on my end.” He says to himself “The heat of this fire is bland compared to Ruri’s taste in food.” Tsukuyomi chuckles to himself. Suddenly he hears a beeping and realizes that he wasn’t thinking to himself but he was actually thinking out loud and his mic was still on. “Great,” he says. Finally, by this time everyone that was near the building has made it to the safe area ready to be evacuated.

~Fire~
Unsurprisingly for Jin, Nakano's reaction was more than fiery as she responded with venom laced words. Her threat to turn him into rabbit stew was an all too familiar jibe and one that he has had to contend with for many years now; though these kind of jibes did normally come from the villains he was apprehending rather then his fellow hero. Nonetheless, his opportunity to reply with his own witty remark was stolen away from him by the arrival of Eagle; the face and name stay of the agency that Jin was presently employed at.

A sly glance over to Nakano's direction was enough to summon a smile from Jin; the rabbit hero knowing full well that the tigress would remain at bay for a little while longer. Not even the fierce predator that she was would be a match for the king of the skies and so long as he was here, Jin didn't need to look over his back and be on guard for some kind of ambush. Relieved that the situation at least for now would no longer escalate, Jin allowed himself to relax and sink into his seat; swivelling his chair to the left and allowing his right arm to rest upon the edge of the desk whilst his left remained in his jacket pocket.

Beginning this mornings briefing with 'the good' was typical of their leader; the avian hero well suited to his role as the Agency's number 1. Crime falling was nothing short of good news for those in their line of work even if it meant there'd be technically less jobs for them. It just meant that their hard work to maintain the peace was paying off and the citizens were safer because of it. The mention of training however was a bit more controversial. The sounds of others fidgeting was not lost on Jin as he remained focused towards the front of the room. Unlike some, Jin was not bothered by the idea of a two hour training session; the spring hero having more than enough energy to easily survive through it.

Alas the promise of breaking a sweat during a two hour work out was stolen away by the familiar sound of Eagle's wrist device beeping away; the alarm always followed by 'breaking news' of some kind of emergency going on. Jin's immediate thoughts returned to this mornings incident; the exploding oil tanker and when the mention of fire was brought up; Jin couldn't help but think that the two incidents were somehow connected. However at this moment that was little more than his own mind working overtime and grasping at straws. Without actual evidence to even connect the two, there was little merit in thinking about it any longer, especially when he was just instructed to haul ass.

"Aite, I'm on it" replied Jin, the rabbit hero quickly hopping up and heading straight towards the open window he had earlier entered from. "Eagle, Tsukuyomi, I'll be taking a shortcut" muttered Jin. A shortcut after all worked both ways and there was little reason for him to take the long way down. "Nakano; your nip will have to wait a while longer" mentioned Jin, climbing through the window and hanging off the edge with only his feet on the bottom rim and his right hand clasped on the top. "Though I can't promise you that it won't get lost on the way" he winked before using the middle finger of his left hand to pull down the bottom of his eye lid whilst he simultaneously stuck his tongue out.

Taunting over, Jin unclasped his right hand from the top of the window frame and allowed himself to fall backwards; his calves quickly transitioning into a pair of springs as the rabbit hero launched himself off the edge of the window; the passing silhouette that was Dante rushing out from the same window mere moments after Jin had disappeared from view. The white furred hero now a blur as he pushed himself off of the side of the building and flung himself through the air; his body twisting and contorting so that he was no longer upside down as he began to descend towards a nearby rooftop on which he would begin his mad dash to Ueno. Unlike some of the others, Jin's ability to soar through the sky was only temporary.. he couldn't actually fly.

Landing atop a building's roof with a forward roll to brace his landing, Jin had fluidly transitioned from the roll into a mad sprint above the roofs; the rabbit hero keeping up pace with those above him as he parkoured his way through the various obstacles littered about the place. Whilst he was fast, his pace was quite often hindered by obstacles placed upon the buildings roofs, air conditioning units being the main ones he came across. However the most problematic of the obstacles were the plethora of hung laundry being hung out to dry; many of the towns citizens taking advantage of the open space and sunny sky to air our their washing.

It was one of these many lines that would soon prove to be an issue for Jin as a gust of wind sent one of the lines skyward, tripping Jin up as he lept over the obstacle and causing some questionable black lace lingerie to get stuck on his trailing foot as he continued to run. A brief glance down at the disturbance being the only acknowledgement that Jin had given to this momentary lapse as he continued on his way.

It was a short while before Jin would arrive at Ueno; the boy's breathing calm and the hero barely fazed as he skidded to a stop in front of the large building on fire. Almost instantly, Jin had focused his senses towards his hearing; the experienced hero knowing that he was actually quite limited in what he could physically do in such situations. Given his fur like constitution and his animal like instincts telling him to avoid the fire, Jin knew full well that running inside to save the day was not exactly the 'smart thing to do'. What he did have however was his sense of hearing; the rabbit like trait being a far more useful resource during such scenario's.

"I can hear several people still trapped inside" shouted Jin, knowing full well that others were beginning to arrive at the scene. "I can't pinpoint exactly where they are... but I can tell you that there are at least a dozen if not more" he continued, eyes closed as his ears continued to twitch against the dozens of different sounds he was presently trying to navigate through; including those of his fellow heroes as they got to work.

Nakano and Tsukuyomi were presently securing a perimeter around the area; evacuating and preventing onlookers from getting too close to the danger zone. The duo in different area's yet still working to accomplish the same goals despite the lack of communication before hand. It just went to show why the Eagle Agency was one of the best in the city. Their tactics however was quite different with Tsukuyomi using his humanoid shades as barriers whilst Nakano shouted at the top of her lungs and directed the public away. Meanwhile Aiko and Ruri had taken it upon themselves to handle the upper floors; Ruri's quirk meaning that out of the several heroes in the Agency, she was one of those best suited to handling such a task. Aiko on the other hand had the power of technology at her disposal and considering her intelligence and quirk, it was unsurprising that she was one of the first rushing towards the building. From past experience in similar situations, Jin knew that her goal was to stabilise the building and with the technology she possessed it was highly unlikely that she'd fail in her endeavour.

Suddenly Jin's ears begun to tense up; the rabbit hero suddenly raising his head skyward as the cacophony of voices and outside noises he was distinguishing isolated a woman's voice followed by a sound that sent a shiver up his spine as he honed in on them. The sound of a woman comforting her crying baby had taken importance for Jin as his eyes scoured the burning building for their location; soon revealed by the shattering of glass and the sight of a woman carrying her crying child clambering onto the window ledge.

"No.. Don't... don't do it" sputtered Jin, already coiling his legs in preparation to leap up and catch them. It wouldn't be ideal, considering he'd have no way to slow their descent even if he did catch them. On top of that he'd have to factor in the speed of their fall, the speed of his flight, his trajectory to meet them in the middle, the force of his initial launch. Too much force and he'd just be shooting himself and them back into the building. Honestly from his position, there was more chance of failure then success if he were to simply act rashly.. though not acting would also mean certain death for one if not both of them. Jin bit his tongue and began to tense his body, whilst his eyes frantically scoured the skies for any signs of Eagle or Ruri being there.

"Guys! Quickly! south side... A mother and her child are about to jump!" shouted Jin through the mic of the receiver, his fist's clenched as he prepared himself to shoot skyward despite the risk's. Thankfully however, the silhouette of Dante soon rushed past his line of sight; the Vampire king catching the pair in their fall before swinging down to the ground a few feet away from where Jin stood. "Thank god..." mumbled Jin, untensing himself and breathing a sigh of relief; his red eyes glancing in the direction of where Dante stood as he comforted the mother and her son before rushing back into the building.

With several of his fellow heroes now taking on the role of entering and rescuing those trapped inside, Jin returned to focusing his hearing towards the sounds all around them; several sirens now blaring in the distance and getting closer to the scene of the fire.

"Tsukuyomi... 2 fire trucks are heading your way, get ready to let them through.. You should be able to hear them shortly" spoke Jin through the recievers they all shared. "Nakano.. there are 3 heading your way followed by an ambulance... make sure the roads are clear" spoke Jin, his ears continuing to fidget as he siphoned through the noise. "Dante, Ruri... I can hear the sound of banging coming from somewhere in the middle floors... I don't know how many people there are but it sounds like they are trapped. I can also hear screaming coming from somewhere near the top... " continued Jin, doing his best to remain focused on distinguishing between all the noise.

Ichiro Kusumoto
Nakano's threats to Ichiro did nothing to sway him and he couldn't hide the large smirk he had growing across his face. His attention shifted away as Nakano found a different target to annoy and Ichiro kicked his feet up onto the table awaiting Eagle. He could almost sense Eagle approaching as he burst out the door in his usual fashion. He quickly slid his feet onto the floor, wanting to make the best appearance for Eagle. The good news didn't really seem like news to him. Crime always fluctuated no matter how hard heroes would try to fix it. It seems that this year is quieter than usual but he did not expect that to keep up.

The announcement of training made Ichiro internally sigh, he already trained enough on his own and getting worked to the brink of exhaustion wasn't his ideal morning but it was something that Eagle wanted to do. A few moments later, Eagle received a notification that put his mind on high alert. He wasn't exactly fond of fires, the smoke being the worst part for him. Ichiro jumped out of his seat as everybody started moving into action. The ones with wings or fast legs were already on the move to the scene and Ichiro had a different job. He had to transport some of the slower members of the Agency to the location because time was of the essence.

Ichiro grabbed the key for the transport vehicle as he ran outside to the side of the building, opening the door and hopping into the vehicle. He quickly started the engine and waited for some of his fellow agency members to trickle into the vehicle except for Nini. She was too big to be in the back of the vehicle and she got to enjoy Ichiro drive like a maniac on the roof. Once everybody was accounted for, he stepped on the gas and the vehicle jolted forward as Ichiro drove to the location.

Finding it wasn't hard, the columns of smoke rising could be seen for miles. Ichiro drove as quick as he could while obeying traffic laws. The narrow streets made it hard for him to get around vehicles but they pulled aside most the time to let him pass. When you drove like Ichiro, getting there quickly wasn't an issue. The vehicle arrived after in a few minutes and he pulled up near some emergency vehicles that were slowly starting to trickle in.

The scene was a type of chaos that Ichiro was still learning to acclimate himself to. Upon getting out the vehicle, he had an immediate urge to run inside but withheld himself from doing so. He scanned the area to make sure civilians were clear of the building and it seemed Nakano and Tsukuyomi were already on that. Ichiro led some civilians away from the building, towards an aid station that the firefighters were setting up. "What a damn mess." Ichiro mumbled to himself, glancing around to make sure everything was secure around the building. "I entrust to you to make sure that the outside stays secure CAT!" Ichiro shouted to Nakano, messing with her head as he ran by towards the front of the building, the sirens of vehicles getting louder as more arrived.

As he ran into the bottom floor of the building, he was accompanied by some firefighters that had recently arrived on scene. The wall of smoke hit him as he entered, coughing as he moved forward deeper into the apartment building. The building had seven floors and Ichiro was going to make sure every floor was clear. The base floor seemed to be empty but Ichiro wanted to make sure. He came upon a room that was blocked off by some debris and it was scorching hot. Ichiro winced as he felt the objects burning his hands as he moved them to the side. His hands were covered with burns as he entered the apartment.

Upon entering, the heat's intensity got worse. He was visibly sweating due to the extreme heat and he tried his best to check the apartment as quick and carefully as possible. He checked the final closet, only to see a bunch of clothes and other belongings. He coughed as he closed it, internally letting go a sigh of relief. "This room is clear!" He communicated to the firefighters so they could focus on other parts of the building. It's not a common occurrence for apartment buildings to go alight and how quickly the building was going up, made him think that something else could have caused the fire but he pushed it out of his mind. His job right now was to get as many people out as possible so the firefighters could begin fighting the fire. "All rooms have been thoroughly swept on the bottom floor. From what I can tell, the heat seems to be the worst on the middle floors so be careful." He said into the mic, coughing as he struggled to get the words out with the smoke in the air. Jin was extremely helpful in situations like these, narrowing the location of those stuck in the building. He proceeded up the stairs onto the second floor. From what he could infer, Dante and Ruri were on higher floors than he. If everything worked out correctly, they would eventually meet each other if he continued his sweep upwards.

Kathy wasn't able to say much after Eagle entered the room, uncaring of what he said being overheard by the rest of the group. Then he switched his attention to the catnip situation Perhaps we should be searched before entering the building... she quietly thought. He dropped some good news, followed by claiming they'd train today. Something that Katherine didn't mind doing, because it only helped her work with her quirk and perfect it a little more each time. Though that ended quickly as his watch began to beep, which allowed him to clarify what was going on: A fire in the Ueno District. That meant Training was cancelled and it was time to take care of the issue at hand and save the day as Heroes in the Eagle Agency. As everyone began to shuffle about and start hurrying out, Katherine slowly got up from her seat and looked over at Ichiro, who also made his way out just as fast as everyone else had. Nexette followed at a quicker pace, but not running. Why? There was no need to burn energy so fast and so early when there was a fire and people to possibly save.

The sad part about being a person without a quirk for easy transportation, is that you'd be the last few to show up. Herself, Ichiro, and Kenzo ( Slav Slav Mantarok Mantarok ) were those three that couldn't get there with their quirks, which resulted in them having to use the company vehicles. Though, Ichiro was always the designated driver due to his lead foot and getting them to the scene asap. Following not too close behind Ichiro, she finally arrived at the car and climbed into the passenger seat. Knowing how her coworker drove, she was sure to put on her seat belt to prevent herself from flying out of the car should they hit something full force. Then it happened: The car took off after Kenzo was in and ready, obeying laws of traffic while trying to get to their destination. Amethyst eyes began to look through the windows, seeing the black smoke filling the air from the fire. That is something we cannot miss... But with how much smoke there is, that fire has to be fairly large by now... Explosion? Multiple lit locations? she herself could only theorize. How long did it take for someone to report the fire?

By the time they got there, emergency vehicles were coming in while civilians were being held back by Nakano ( Servant Servant ) , Jin ( Phayne Phayne ) seemed to be surveying the location, Tsukuyomi ( StealthyShades StealthyShades ) had also been trying to keep civilians back. Ichiro parked and jumped out into action. Katherine turned on her earpiece that they had been given to keep with them during work hours, hearing others begin to speak into it. She noticed Dante ( One Mean Ghost One Mean Ghost ) heading back into the building as well, and it seemed he had already been inside with dirt on his face. Upon getting out of the car, she observed her surroundings, taking into account of the area and then taking a good look at the building. Ichiro already went inside with Dante... They'll definitely be split up lifting her eyes, she noticed Ruriko ( Beann Beann ) in the air, probably investigating what she could from up there..Or maybe coming up for some air before going into the burning building. Bringing her eyes back down to the front door, she took off her jacket and tossed it onto the hood of the company truck, noticing Aiko ( archur archur ) trying to support the building with her gadgets.

I could go inside, or I could stay out here. We only have two people inside the building though... Which means I may not have a choice... Nexette took a deep breath, then let it out and began to approach the building herself. Her purple irises turning a bright blue as her quirk began to activate. Since all she needed to do was protect herself from falling debris and the smoke, which meant she could use a small Nexus dome, but not one with extreme strength. Just enough to keep smoke out and protect her from any random debris. Hearing coughing through the mic and Ichiro talking, she knew that the smoke was bad. "You weren't even inside long and you're already coughing..." she said softly, not even sure if the mic picked her up That means I must move then. as soon as she got inside, she spoke "Ichiro, Dante, Ruri, I'm inside as well just to let you all know..." just in case something were to happen. As she moved more inside, she took note that the first floor was clear, which made her go up toward the third floor, which seemed to feel a bit hotter than the previous floors she passed through.

Beads of sweat began to form from her forehead, slowly trickling down her face I never appreciated a hot environment unless there was a pool to jump into... looking down the hallway of the third floor, she noticed some of the ceiling collapsed and flames coming from a room that no longer had a door. She heard faint cries, or screams, probably from the other floors. But nonetheless, she heard them if they were loud enough. It tugged her heartstrings cause she wondered how many elderly could be in the building, children, or even the disabled. Her pace began to quicken as she started to search room after room. Soon coming upon a room that had some beams collapsed into it, with fire spreading about. Despite the flames, she heard crying which caused her to search quicker and move closer to the source. That's a child...Is it one? No...It sounds like two... Where could they be hiding? upon entering the kitchen, she noticed a bunch of pots and pans thrown about on the floor. Someone had to have pulled them out...

Before she could investigate further, the ceiling began to collapse a little more, causing her to duck a bit, despite her shield preventing her from being crushed. "I don't know how old this building is...but if it's too old, it may not hold up well on the inside..." hearing the crying once again, she moved deeper into the kitchen and pulled open a few cabinet doors, finding two siblings holding onto each other and crying. A sigh of relief left her lips Thank goodness I found them. "Don't worry, you're safe now...Come here..." at first, they were scared, but she continued to reassure them, telling them that she was a Hero and came to save them. Once they had trusted her, she gently pulled them into her small bubble, taking a look at them and noticing they weren't injured. Just dirty and scared. She held one close to her chest, while the other she let climb on her back I wonder where their guardian is... There's no way they were left here alone. They're too young. Making her way toward the exit of the room, she noticed the dining room destroyed and someone underneath the rubble. By someone...it was just an arm. Katherine continued to move toward the exit to avoid having them see that sight.

"We have a casualty in room 306, Dining room... I've secured two little girls..." she said, hopefully loud enough into the mic.

Oshiro Ruriko
Demoness
While waiting for the rest of her fellow heroes to arrive on scene, Ruriko continued to survey the upper floors of the apartment complex. There was only so much she could do alone but considering she was among the few who had a useful quirk in situations like these, she needed to capitalize on it to allow the others breathing room with their own roles. It had been a while since the Eagle Agency responded to a fire but usually it only required two or three heroes on site to take care of everything. However, since there was so much ground to cover here, she was glad that the majority of the heroes at the agency would be lending aid. Before even thinking about sweeping each room on the uppermost level, Ruriko checked the roof of the building. In the event of any fire, civilians were taught to follow procedures. Ideally, it was to evacuate through the main entrance in an orderly fashion but if that wasn't possible, then the next route would be to seek safety on top of a roof and hope a helicopter would be sent their way.

Upon reaching the roof of the building, she noticed a handful of civilians grouped up together, some crying while others doing their best to comfort the former party. Just from a glance, these people seemed to have been the fastest to react to the disaster, only covered in minor injuries and debris. "Everyone remain calm! I will escort two at a time to the ground, starting with the elderly and children," she raised her voice as she landed on the roof with them. A couple of parents immediately pushed their children in front, begging for Ruriko to take their child first over the other. "Please calm down! I will get everyone out of here in a timely manner." She motioned for two boys to step forward, one appearing to be around twelve while the other looked to be around six. "I'm no pilot but I promise it will be a smooth flight, boys." Giving them a reassuring smile, she scooped both of them up, holding one under each arm before spreading her wings and lifting herself up into the air. "Nakano, I'm bringing two boys down. Be sure they remain in the designated area as I will bring their parents down shortly after." Ruriko notified the tiger woman over their comms as she made her descent to ground level.

Touching down near her fellow hero, she carefully released her grasp on the two boys, ensuring they found their footing on the ground first. After gently nudging them towards Nakano, she gave a brief nod before shooting herself into the air once more. “The heat of this fire is bland compared to Ruri’s taste in food.” Hearing Tsukuyomi's comment over comms made her chuckle as she looked at the burning building in front of her. "A small blessing, that's for sure. Maybe we can enjoy some spicy ramen after this, Tsu?~" Her usual flirtatious tone coming through the mic as she continued her ascent to the roof. As serious the situation was, Ruriko found it best to remain calm and oftentimes playful. What good would it do if she appeared to be stressed out and concerned? That would only cause a panic among the civilians in danger. "Dante, Ruri... I can hear the sound of banging coming from somewhere in the middle floors... I don't know how many people there are but it sounds like they are trapped. I can also hear screaming coming from somewhere near the top..."

Her eyebrows furrowed slightly at Jin's report. She was hoping that a majority of the residents were able to escape in time but it would appear she was needed in the thick of it. "I have several residents on the roof that need to be evacuated. I'll be quick but it looks like the actual search and rescue is up to you for now, Dante. Please be careful, wouldn't want anything happening to that handsome face of yours!~" Flirting aside, there was some seriousness to her tone. Many heroes, including herself, had the obligation to bite off more than they can chew in disastrous situations like these. Sometimes, a simple reminder made the difference between a well thought out plan and acting on impulse.

Taking about five minutes to evacuate the rest of the civilians from the roof, she turned her priority to the highest floor of the apartment complex. "Ichiro, Dante, Ruri, I'm inside as well just to let you all know…" Kathy was inside as well? Well, that certainly would help Ichiro and the firefighters clear the lower levels fairly quickly. "Be careful, cutie. This heat is making its way up to my standards of hot." She warned Kathy over comms as she went room to room on the seventh, and highest floor. Most of the rooms were clear and she could only assume the residents on this floor were the ones she evacuated on the roof. As such, she quickly made her way down to the sixth floor and that's when she heard the faint sound of someone screaming. Ruriko immediately began kicking doors down, searching each apartment as the screaming got louder. Kicking down another door, she knew the screaming was coming from this particular apartment. "Remain calm! I'm here to help!" She said out loud as she pushed her way through some debris and other scattered furniture.

"Help me! I'm over here!" Following the sound of a panicked voice, Ruriko ran into the apartment's kitchen. Before her was a woman, maybe a few years older than her with a refrigerator crushing the lower half of her body. She rushed to her side, squatting down as she dug her hands underneath the kitchen appliance before lifting it up to free the woman. "Come on, let's get you out of here!" Scooping the woman up, she quickly rushed for the front door. Once she was out, she leaped off the stairwell, allowing her wings to carry her down to the ground to one of the medical stations that was being set up to care for the injured. "Here. Found her underneath a collapsed refrigerator." Handing the woman off to a paramedic, Ruriko spent no time returning to the apartment complex. "How's everyone doing? Better than training, right?" She asked over comms as she continued to work her way down from the upper levels.

"Dante, Ruri... I can hear the sound of banging coming from somewhere in the middle floors... I don't know how many people there are but it sounds like they are trapped. I can also hear screaming coming from somewhere near the top... "

"I have several residents on the roof that need to be evacuated. I'll be quick but it looks like the actual search and rescue is up to you for now, Dante. Please be careful, wouldn't want anything happening to that handsome face of yours!~"

Dante chuckled a little to himself. From what he could gather, he was the only one currently handling the middle floors, which seemed to be where the heat was most intense. Some would assume that meant he was the one best suited for this situation, but in truth, this was the worst place for him to be. As a drawback of his Quirk, he was particularly vulnerable to sunlight, heat, and fire, and yet here he was, maneuvering through the flames towards the banging sound Jin had detected. Even now, He knew his hands and cheeks were burning. That wasn't his concern, though. He could drink some blood and recover in a few minutes. The civilians inside this infernal hellscape wouldn't be so fortunate. There was already one casualty, and if he didn't find the ones causing the banging, there would be more....

He reached an L shaped bend in the hallway. To follow it would lead towards a large window, and facing down that straight away was a door. The banging was faint now, and not on the door. It was likely they were banging on a window or something inside, but that wasn't important. The door seemed to have been warped by the heat, leading to it being jammed, with small puffs of smoke coming from some small gaps under the door. It seemed that those inside had tried to stuff the cracks to keep the fire from entering, but instead had given it a way in. As he was about to call for those inside to stand back, he heard a couple of dull thuds. It sounded like whoever was inside had collapsed. Whether from heat or smoke, he didn't know, but what he did know is they didn't have a lot of time.

Blood blades formed in the air to his sides and flew at the door, breaking the hinges so he could gain entry into the room. He took a step forward, ready to rush past the flames and help those inside.

*BOOOOOOOOM*

Those outside would see a middle floor hall window blown away as a massive fireball erupted forth, accompanied by a scream that would resonate in the comms of the Eagle Agency Heroes....

A Backdraft is, without a doubt, one of the scariest things a firefighter can encounter. When oxygen is introduced into a fire system that had depleted most of its oxygen, it could result in the explosive inferno known as a backdraft. Even veteran firefighters could miss the subtle signs of that murderous blaze, so, perhaps it wasn't so surprising that the Vampire King overlooked it as well. When that door had been moved, an inferno had enveloped him in an instant. His forearms and from the knee down lost almost all of his costume to the blaze as he tried to shield himself. He could smell his own flesh burning, charring. He didn't even realize he'd screamed until he felt his very lungs burning from the heat.

PhAuIrNt
HpUaRiTn

Dante's mind almost blanked. Even if he, like most of his family, had a dulled sense of pain, this was.... Agony. Terrible, horrifying, agonizing pain. He felt, while completely lucid, his entire body being cooked. He felt himself starting to fall back. It would be so easy. All he'd have to do is close his eyes and the pain would stop for awhile. He could sleep, perchance dream.

No.

He slammed his foot down, forcing himself to stay on his feet, even if that very act caused his charred skin to crack and bleed. He clenched his jaw, trying to focus on something other than the pain. He could hear static in his ears, so, naturally, he assumed he'd lost all communication in the blast.

"Probably a good thing you guys can't hear me right now..." Only, they could. He couldn't hear them, but his fellow heroes could hear the way his inferno ravaged voice rasped as he forced himself to breathe. He forced himself to stagger forward. He could see civilians. They'd probably passed out from the lack of oxygen. Being on the floor, they'd been spared the inferno, but they needed help quick, and he was the only one here right now. Every step was agony. With every movement he took, more cracks broke his skin, blood running like rivers down his scorched flesh. Every step made his body want to stop. Every move made him want to fall apart.

"There's something good about pain... It's a surefire way to know you're still alive.... And as long as I'm still alive.... There's... There's still people I can save...." He growled through gritted teeth. He was trying to force his mind off the pain, to ignore it, push through it. There were four people right in front of him. Four lives he could save. He couldn't fall now.

Something.

He needed something to push his mind off the pain. He looked down at his blackened arms, at the rivers of blood that ran down them. He inhaled shakily, trying to do something to push off the pain. "You bleed just to know you're alive...." His haggard voice managed a haunting melody. He was glad they couldn't hear him. He assumed he sounded pitiful. But they could hear the haunting refrain as he took each labored step.

"I don't want the world to see me..... Cause I don't think that they'd understand...."

He reached those on the floor, he gathered one on each shoulder and managed to hold another under each arm, but when he tried to stand, he couldn't rise. His quirk didn't give him superhuman strength, and on top of that, his entire body was thrashed. That wouldn't let him give up though. He couldn't call for help. He needed to move them himself. He wrapped his blood around his legs, bracing his body and using his quirk to manipulate his limbs and force them to extend. Slowly, he managed to get off the ground, even as his skin tore even more to let more of those crimson rivers flow down his body.

"When everything's.... made to be..... broken.... I just want you... to know.... who I am......" His haunting melody was labored now. A mere ten meters seemed to stretch on miles before him. His legs shook from the effort as he carried them forward, stepping over debris to reach the window frame that had been blown away in the explosion. He knew Ruri would scold him. She'd warned him not to get hurt. As that thought crossed his mind, the heat damaged floor below him shifted and he almost lost all balance. His mask, warped from the heat, fell to the ground. He'd have to hope Aiko had another for him.... He couldn't put these people down or he'd never be able to move again.

"I'm... really going to need some Capri-suns after this..." He murmured. That, of course, was his codeword for saying he'd need blood packs. He didn't much care for saying he drank blood around kids...

His blood forced his legs to move. One bare, scorched foot stepped onto the ledge, just enough for him to throw himself the rest of the way out. His blood shot out from his injuries, latching onto lampposts, trees, and the building to lower him down. Even setting himself down as gingerly as he did, his legs almost gave out. He tried to move towards the medical tent, but each step just tore his skin worse.

That's when his crimson eyes fell on Tsuki. The Marionette would see the scorched, almost corpse like appearance of the Vampire King. The only area that had been spared was what had been covered by the mask. "Ts.... Tsuki... Got... A few spare hands?..." Dante managed a weak smile, but all that was keeping him standing was the blood wrapped around his legs and sheer force of will. When the people were handed off, Alucard's legs finally gave out and he dropped to his knees, sitting on his heels as he just kind of stared at the sky. He could see Ruri, and could already imagine the scolding he'd get.

For some reason, that thought gave him enough strength to manage a small smile.

So far so good. Thanks to the en masse arrival of the agency’s members it was safe to say that the situation was well under way to reaching the best possible outcome. Between the additional crowd suppressing aid courtesy of Tsukuyomi’s shadows and the relayed information coming from Jin it was safe to say that the outside was properly secured. Speaking of the bunny lad, Nakano made sure to put his information to good use by guiding some civilian stragglers back onto the pavement and signaling the arriving fire trucks and ambulance to park over. With them now in position Nakano passed on the news through her earpiece: “The firemen will begin operating shortly, if you have any injured know that the ambulance is parked right outside the main entrance.”

Keeping her cool under these sort of situations had proven to be a near impossible task for Nakano in the past. Between the sight and sound of a fire raging before her and the occasional stubborn civilian trying to verbally throw down Nakano had lost her temperament more than a few times, this however had began changing as of late, with the tiger girl now being able to keep a much more professional demeanor (At least by Nakano standards) under press-

"I entrust to you to make sure that the outside stays secure CAT!"

Hoo boy, that almost did it, though surprisingly a brief eye twitch was her only response. Sure, she felt the need to throw a piece of rubble right at Ichiro’s head, but frankly the only thing stopping her was the fact she knew he’d simply dodge it. Next up was an attempt at throwing a witty comment of her own right back at him, but between her brain operating at the speed of dial up internet and her senior’s speed it was simply too late for her to do even that. I guess she’ll just need to make him pay afterwards. Or at least, attempt to do so.

"We have a casualty in room 306, Dining room... I've secured two little girls..."

The news hit Nakano like a truck. One moment she was thinking of ways to make Ichiro suffer, the next Katherine drops this bomb shell onto her head. A nearly inaudible “Fuck…” escaped her lips, maybe if she wasn’t such a coward when it came to situations like these she would’ve been able to get in there quickly and saved the victim’s life. Thoughts of guilt began assaulting her mind, but other than clenching her fist in pure self-rage Nakano did her best to show no signs of being affected by these news. There were so many eyes on her, if the public saw a heroic figure falling into despair and anguish then they’d follow in soon after. “Understood Katherine, bring the kids down to me and I’ll look after them.”

It’d seem that Nakano’s babysitting wishes were answered by another source however, as a different voice came over the comms: "Nakano, I'm bringing two boys down. Be sure they remain in the designated area as I will bring their parents down shortly after.". Before Nakano was able to respond, Oshiro had already descended from the skies and deposited the children in her care, though she was quick to return her senior’s nod with one of her own before she flew off. The two children were obviously shaken up, with the younger of the two appearing to be on the verge of tears. “Hey.” Nakano spoke up in an uncharacteristically soft tone. “Are you two alright? I know the situation is scary, but we are here now. Everything will be alright, I promise you that. Here, let's move away from this scary place.” With them now in her care Nakano proceeded to scoop both of them up, one on each arm, and began heading towards one of the arriving ambulances, all the while she kept talking to them in order to keep their minds away from the disaster. The older kid appeared to be soothed by her words, while the younger one had managed to calm himself down by redirecting his attention towards Nakano’s ears, which he promptly began pulling out of curiosity. Nakano simply laughed at his actions, slightly painful as they may be. “They are cool, aren’t they? My ears are just like a kitty’s, look I can even move them!”. Once the pair were left in the paramedic’s care Nakano took a brief moment to sigh in relief, mostly due to the fact that the grand majority of her seniors were too preoccupied with the situation inside to ever get a proper look at the way she acted around kids. If they ever saw though Nakano could always just deliver some powerful memory-wiping medicine known as lefty and righty. With that situation dealt with, the tiger girl returned to her previous spot near the apartment’s entrance, keeping her eyes on the crowd and her ears on the comms.

Fire licked at the cyborg as she set herself to work, identifying areas of high stress and setting an EZ post underneath them, letting the machine do the rest. The device was nothing more than a solid metal rod with two flat surfaces at each end. As she slammed it into the ground, it would drill itself into the ground and shoot the top part up into the ceiling. It had a support limit of over 2000 pounds, so just two to four of these could lift a car, which she pulled once or twice on Ichiro before leaving work. As soon as most of the posts left her hands, the familiar headlights of some firefighters had begun to cautiously scout the first floor, notably with Ichiro leading them in. She flicked on her own lights, her eyes illuminating wherever she looked like a spotlight and cutting through the billowing smoke.

"I've secured most of the first floor except for the northern sector!" Aiko said, sucking in large gulps of air as if the smoke and fire weren't there. "I'll leauughghgh-" She choked as a pipe burst next to her and sprayed steam over her face, the heat melting plastics and internals alike. She stumbled out of the way of the collapsed piping and opened a latch on the side of her throat, fishing out a black filter. It was full of soot, and from how deformed it was, no longer usable. "I'll lead these guys upstairs and clear up some of the middle floors like Jin called out." She said, quickly replacing the filter.

As Ichiro went to clear the rest of the floor, Aiko gathered a few volunteers to venture upstairs with her. She knew she was underprepared for this, she usually gave herself time to suit up in the mornings, but she didn't have a real morning. Firemen were prepared and had their equipment on them, she knew that their axes and training would be more helpful than her gadgets were going to be at this moment. All she had to do was to point out fractures and plan things out accordingly with the firefighters to ensure they were doing the most they could.

As they made their way to the fourth floor, it was clear that the inferno was strong on this floor. Many paths through the T-junction hallway were blocked by debris and rubble, and from what she could tell, the ceiling was about to collapse and seal away the last entrance into the rest of the floor.

"Help!"

She and the firemen jerked their heads towards the cry, which was behind a pile of burning debris, and in one of the doors down the hall. "Watch your heads, the ceiling isn't stable here. I'll keep an eye out for anyone else." The firemen nodded and got to work removing the debris, while Aiko set her last post to stop the ceiling from collapsing their only other way onto the floor. With a quick audial scan, the cyborg moved with the firemen towards the room, hacking down the door as quickly as they could. No time was wasted, and the door came crashing down as they all began to pour into the burning apartment.

"Help..."

It wasn't a cry, it was a croak. Time was of the essence. The kitchen was a burning mess, the living room and hallway were much of the same, but as soon as they got into the bedroom they spotted them. The civilian was curled up in the back of the room harboring a bloodied stump leg, a crimson trail leading back to their bedside where a living room TV set had made its entrance from the roof. "You're safe, just stay where you are!" Aiko shouted over the roar of the flames. As soon as she took a step forward, the floor began to creak and crack under her feet, a spiderweb of white cracks spreading out underneath her feet. She knew she weighed over 600 pounds and if she tried to reach the woman, the rest of this room's floor would probably fall through too.

A firefighter stepped forward and put a hand on her shoulder. "You've done enough Frame, I'll take it from here. Just tell me where to go." She nodded and took a step back, the firefighter dropping some of his equipment to make himself that much lighter. He looked back to his team, and then to the sobbing civilian. "I'll let you know if you're going to step into a big crack." Resolute, he nodded to her and took a step forward onto the minefield. As he took each step, the cracks grew more intense, but never enough to let him fall through. She could see each footprint left in the floor from the weak structural integrity that barely kept them on this floor. Soon, he reached the civilian, clothes burnt, eyes bleary, and leg missing. "You're safe." Slowly, he scooped her over his shoulder and began his perilous trek back. "Make sure to walk slightly to the left, you don't want to step on your old footprints!" Aiko choked out, coughing into her arm.

"We have a casualty in room 306, Dining room... I've secured two little girls..."

Her allies were hard at work, which she expected. Kathrine's voice betrayed the effects of smoke and from seeing a body, also expected. There was no such thing as a casualty-free disaster, but it still weighed on her when she learned how many people died afterward. Then, an ear-piercing howl through the mic, and from above her. The brief distraction was enough for the fireman to lose his footing and step down a little too hard. The floor began to quickly crack underneath him and through his mask, she could see the fear in his face as the floor gave way beneath him. Without a second thought, she loaded up a foam grenade in her arm and fired it through her palm, the foam quickly expanding and catching the two underneath the cushioned force coming up at them while they were going down.

The fireman and civilian landed on the steaming silicon surface with nothing more than a slight bruise and a few splinters at most. "Alright, Two of you jump down and guide him to safety. I'll take the other two of you guys to scan the rest of the floor for anything. Let's move!" Two went down, and the other two followed her to clear out the rest of the rooms. Many of them were empty, but there was one where they were simply too late.

"Team, I have a firefighter carrying a walking casualty through the front door and can count another casualty here. Fourth floor is clear. Moving to the fifth and looking to extract from the roof if possible."

Muto wasn't the biggest fan of fires. He was even less of a fan of being crammed into a tight-ass company vehicle with his co-workers (which always stank). While he had no problem with tight spaces, that didn't mean he wasn't a fan of them!

The scene was chaotic. Firefighters worked with his team to coordinate a rescue and evacuate any civilians caught inside. Of all things, why did it have to be fire? As the team's eyes and ears, he would have been the first to point out the locations of survivors with his roaches. However, they were understandably reluctant to be sent into a blazing inferno where they were likely to get cooked alive.

He couldn't blame them. He wouldn't be very keen on being sent into a fire building with low chances of survival, either. But he had to try.

"Come on, guys," he said. "Those people need our help, and the team and firefighters need to know where they are! Squeeze wherever you can and tell me where you find them! Scampe out if you must, go!" He pointed to the building and a thin stream of roaches surged ahead and into the building, ready to put their lives on the line.

It didn't take long before his antennae picked up the visuals of several trapped civilians within. "I've found some more people in there! There's at least three of them trapped under some rubble. They're alive, but won't be for long under the smoke."

Smoke inhalation was another hazard to watch out for. A few minutes of inhaling this crap was enough to doom anyone, and each second counted. One second was all it could take between saving a life and losing one.

Tsukuyomi

The sounds of sirens pierced through the loud traffic of the city. ”They are just around the corner,” Tsukuyomi says. As soon as he says that you can see a bright red fire truck with two small support trucks right behind it. Three ambulances pull up as well and Tsukuyomi meets the EMS’s chief and explains the situation. “We have about 8 to 10 families that have already been issued medical care from my shades but I can only do so much.” The chief states “It seems like you guys have people with mainly minor wounds. Are there any who are critical?” Tsukuyomi responds with “Not that I know of, most people have a little bit of burnt clothing and coughing but everyone seems to be fine.“ Out of nowhere, you hear a mother crying out for her baby boy to wake up. Tsukuyomi and the chief run to the scene. “What happened, what’s going on?” said the chief. The mother hysterically crying can’t make out a single sentence. The little boy's older sister, probably around 16 years old, responded to him “He was fine at first but he suddenly started having trouble breathing. I told him to sit down to catch his breath and once his ass hit the pavement his eyes shut and he collapsed.” The boy looked no more than eight. He was very small for an eight-year-old. If it wasn’t for the happy birthday hat that he had on; he could’ve passed for a five-year-old. Tsukuyomi kneels down and checks the pulse of the kid and immediately starts doing CPR. “Is he not breathing?“ The mother cries from her husband's arms. The chief asks the father “Does he have any medical conditions that…” “He has asthma!“ the father shouted abruptly. The EMS takes over the compressions as Tsukuyomi stands by. Tsukuyomi calms the family down as he pushes the EMT guy off the kid and stabs the kid in the thigh with an EpiPen. The EMS questions Tsukuyomi on why he has that on him. Tsukuyomi smiles. Tsukuyomi says to the EMS Crew "A father-figure of mine named Alexander, always made it a point to carry with him an EpiPen, an inhaler, and a flask. The first two to save lives, and the third to share a drink with the survivor" He hands the inhaler to the older sister and pours a shot for the father. “I would like to toast to your son's health but I'm on the clock.” Tsukuyomi knees down to the little boys, “Happy Birthday, little man, and many more.”

The building starts to rumble and you could see black smoke coming out of a single-window a lot more than all the others. A fireball, out of nowhere, the size of a minivan shoots out of the side of the building. You see Dante coming out of the area where the explosion was with four people heard in his arms. Tsukuyomi looks at the boy and says “Well if you excuse me, our vampire has somehow set himself on fire...AGAIN.“ He starts running to Dante's location. "Ts... Tsuki... Got... A few spare hands?..." Dante says with a little breath that he has. Tsukuyomi thinks to himself Dante, piece of shit you always have to make me worry. Tsukuyomi commands his shades to grab the survivors from Dante's broken body. Tsukuyomi personally grab Dante and pulls him to the sidelines. An EMT says “he doesn’t look so good.” As Tsukuyomi and the EMT examine Dante, Tsukuyomi sends one of his shades to the trucks everyone came in. They determined that Dante has four cracked ribs and third-degree burns all over his body. The EMT guy says ”We have to get in the ambulance now if we want to save him.” Tsukuyomi argues with the EMT and says ”No, I send one of my shades to retrieve something for me. He's going to be fine.” The chief EMT walks up and interrupts the verbal conflict by saying “What is all the commotion?” Tsukuyomi tells the chief “Your men don’t trust my judgment, They don't know vampire types as I do.” The captain turns to Tsukuyomi and says “I will worry about my men, you save yours” “Thank you, captain.” By that time the shade returns with a small duffel bag labeled first aid with a box that says “In case of Alucard’s Shenanigans.” Tsukuyomi starts to tend to Dante. “Dante, I am only going to ask this once. What blood do you want?” With a dry raspy voice, Dante says “I just want to be B-positive.” Tsukuyomi rolls his eyes. “You always tried to be the ray of sunshine.” Tsukuyomi said as he stabbed a straw into a bag of B-positive blood. A little bit of the blood squirts out and gets on his suit. He hands Dante the bag and says “Here is your Capri Sun. Now drink up and get up. You got people to save and I have patients to see”

Rini was the last of the agency to actually arrive at the scene of the fire. Thanks to her size and weight she just straight wouldn't be able to fit inside the car, let alone let it drive as fast as it could go and so she had to do her best to run there. Which in itself presented it's own problems, having to slowdown in the busy areas and walk most of the time otherwise she would knock people down or even knock people out if she was swinging her arms wildly. Finally she got there not super winded but more frustrated at herself than anything else "Stupid quirk making me big and heavy" she grumbled to herself

She stood back up and snarled she wouldn't be much help on the 2nd floor or above, between her weight and the fire more than likely weakening the supports, she would prolly break through the floor even with her lightest touch. Rini couldn't help but sigh again before running towards a broken window, taking a deep breath and stepped inside. She did her best to start clearing out rubble and looking for people on the ground floor. She wouldn't have to look for very long as she found two people struggling to get out of some rubble, the woman is clearly in pain. Rini stepped over and lifted the rubble off of them like lifting up a small rock and flipping it over to the other side. Rini pursed her lips, the woman's foot had at the very least fractured and the other guy was looking woozy most likely from the smoke.

She grabbed the two as gently as she could and started making her way back out. Every now and then timber and rubble bounced off her horns and into her hair but nothing had managed to catch alight, the broken window was no longer an option as she could hurt the civvies even more and so the next option was the door. Rini mentally sighed to herself as she bent halfway to the ground the two civvie gently clutched in her arms pressed against her stomach and chest. She then sprinted for the door smashing clean through the weakened door. As it flew off it's handles and over one of the fire trucks, Rini skidded to a halt and started coughing heartily as she put the two civvies next to the paramedics

Ichiro Kusumoto
Hearing the news of casualties was always the hardest for Ichiro. He wanted to save as many people as possible but it never turned out that way, deaths were unavoidable in events like these. "How's everyone doing? Better than training, right?" He heard over the comms and Ichiro's more serious side was starting to come out, "I would prefer training, people don't die during training events." Ichiro said over comms, his voice remaining monotone to not give away his true emotions. He made his way up to the third floor after everything had thoroughly been swept for survivors on the second.

Ichiro knew Kathy was on this floor and he quickly found 306. He was tailed by firefighters who entered the room to retrieve the two girls, "Get them out of here, they are the priority." Ichiro sternly said to the firefighters, his gaze landing on Kathy. "We don't have much more time, we gotta sweep this floor as fast as possible, the smoke is getting too much." Ichiro said with a few harsh coughs. He proceeded down the hall and a blocked off room had caught his eye.

"Help me clear this debris, someone could be trapped inside." He said to a few firefighters that had remained at his side. They made quick work of the debris and upon entering the room, they noticed a man. Ichiro was caught off guard at the sitting man who seemed to be burning, yet he seemed to have no wounds visible on himself. "Sir are you..." He stopped dead in his tracks as his eyes met this mysterious man's irises. He saw a killing intent in the gaze, giving Ichiro goosebumps right down to the bone.

"Get out of here." Ichiro whispered to the firefighters, glancing at them as they scrambled back down the hall. His gaze returned to the man, who was now standing. He had a fire quirk and Ichiro wasn't exactly in the best position to fight someone who was completely encapsulated by fire. When the firefighters left, Ichiro's demeanor completely changed, "You're responsible for this fire aren't you?" Ichiro asked the man, not really expecting a reply. "They tried to evict me from my apartment, it's the last thing I have. I'd rather die than lose my dignity." The man said, his guttural voice giving him the shivers again. Ichiro started to grit his teeth, his internal rage coming to the surface. "I don't have enough words to express my anger but when this is all over, I'm going to break every single bone in your body. The fact that you would rather kill people than to simply leave in peace shows me all I need to know."

As Ichiro was talking, he was slowly inching closer to the kitchen, his eyes set on the knife. The man was watching his every move and he knew the moment he sprung into action, Mr. Match would pounce on him like a tiger. Ichiro took the chance anyways and grasped the handle of the kitchen knife. The man lurched forward and he felt the extreme heat intensity get closer. In a split second, Ichiro threw the knife at him, hoping to keep the distance between them. The knife struck him clumsily, only doing superficial damage to him. It worked as intended though, the man taking a few steps back. Ichiro was in a bad position, as the man was blocking his only exit... the door. "I have a hostile on the third floor, he has a fire quirk. He has me cornered-" As Ichiro spoke into the comms, the man lunged himself at Ichiro again.

There was no way that Ichiro was going to make it past him without catching on fire and it was a painful death he wasn't willing to go through. There was a window to his back but he had no clue what was below him. He decided to find out. "See you in hell!" Ichiro jumped backwards, his back smashing into the glass, putting his full force against it. It shattered and in a few milliseconds, he was in free fall. His fate was to whatever was below him.

Oshiro Ruriko
Demoness

"I would prefer training, people don't die during training events."

Hearing Ichiro’s voice over comms caused her lips to form into a sheepish smile. She was well aware how unfortunate it was to have casualties but not everyone could be saved. They were heroes, yes, but there was only so much they could do. “Eagle usually makes us wish we were dead during training days,” she reminded her fellow hero as she once again found herself on the upper floors of the apartment complex. Remembering where she left off after taking the woman she found underneath the refrigerator to safety, she continued to search the other rooms on the floor. Ruriko kept her ears open for any cries of help but she could mostly hear the crackling of flames and crumbling of debris around her. If anyone was on the same floor as her, they would most likely be passed out or dead. Still, it would do no good for anyone to skip rooms. Unless her own life was in danger, she would continue to search the entire floor to ensure that there were no other residents that needed to be evacuated.

Coming across the last room on the floor, Ruriko kicked down the front door and quickly took a look around the apartment. She started by searching the living room and dining room, then the kitchen, and finally the two bedrooms. Upon entering the second bedroom, her golden eyes rested on a frail, old woman who lay sprawled out on the floor. There was quite a bit of blood trickling from her head and the Demoness could only assume she stumbled and hit her head when trying to leave the room. Kneeling down, she was careful to be mindful of her claws as she pressed two fingers against the woman’s carotid artery. While time was of the essence, Ruriko waited patiently for a while before finally picking up a very faint pulse. Gently scooping up the frail body, she made her way out of the smoky apartment and leaped off the ledge of the building once more.

As she descended down a nearby medic tent, she spotted two familiar figures. “Severe head injury, pulse is weak,” she handed off the old woman to two paramedics before looking over to the two figures nearby. It was Tsukuyomi and Dante, and by the looks of it, the latter had pushed himself too far - again. Ruriko approached the two of them just as Tsukuyomi handed him a ‘capri-sun’, an alternative word for a blood bag. “I wonder if you taste as crispy as you look,” her tone was playful but her expression was serious with a hint of concern. Although she had told him to be careful in a flirtatious manner, she still meant for him to literally be careful. Dante probably had the biggest heart out of everyone at the agency and unfortunately, that meant he stuck his neck out a little too much for his own good.

"I have a hostile on the third floor, he has a fire quirk. He has me cornered-"

Ichiro’s voice over the comms pulled her attention away from Dante as she tilted her head up to the apartment complex. “Shit. I’m on my way, Ichiro!” She offered Dante and Tsukuyomi one last glance before shooting herself up into the air again. Ruriko wasn’t entirely sure what she was supposed to do against a hostile with a fire quirk. Her quirk strictly dealt against blunt and melee combat, and while her transformation provided a thicker layer of skin, she was still very susceptible to burns. “Which room, Ichiro -?” She asked as she neared the third floor of the building. However, before entering, she quickly picked up on the sound of shattering glass. Turning her head, she could see Ichiro free falling some distance away. Reacting as fast as she could, her wings sent her forth, her flight declining in height to match the speed her fellow hero was falling at.

Just as Ichiro’s body neared the top of the first floor, Ruriko caught him with both arms, holding him close as her wings pulled her up higher to slow her momentum. “Oh my, Ichiro! Are you falling for me?~” She teased playfully as she circled the apartment complex before descending back down to the ground.

Katherine took sight of Ichiro as she poked her head out of the doorway, firefighters following suit as they took the two girls. He took command, while she herself remained quiet, using her bubble to keep her fairly unscathed. However, as her comrade spoke, he began to cough, the smoke obviously getting into his lungs. "Let me he-" before she could finish, he rushed off in search for more survivors. Help... she thought, letting out a sigh He's going to be coughing for days if he doesn't get outside and get his lungs cleared up. with the girls no longer within her possession, Katherine went her own way in search for more people, doing her best to help through the third floor. She heard voices coming through her ear piece, but knew they had nothing to do with her at the current moment. If someone was calling shots, or for backup, she was all ears. But not when her life -and others- are on the line. She continued to search rooms 307, 308, 309. All clear, no sign of people within each room. Which meant they were probably in school or at work, keeping them safe from the dangers.

Coming back into the hallway, she noticed firefighters rushing past, but no Ichiro following, nor leading. Did he perhaps go off on his own? Maybe he's already on the 4th floor. the Hero thought as she went and followed the group of firefighters into the stairs; and on the way to the next floor. "I have a hostile on the third floor, he has a fire quirk. He has me cornered-" the word 'Hostile' had gotten Katherine's attention so quickly that she instantly paused in the stairwell. Whipping around, and running down the steps to the third floor to the best of her ability, Nexette began to run down the hallway in search for Ichiro, only to hear shattering glass which helped her locate him faster. Though, when she had finally got to the room, she spotted the hostile, but no Ichiro. Did he push him out? No... Ichiro knows how to avoid danger before it even gets to physically harm him...usually. Her blue-lit eyes narrowed, watching as the enemy before her continued to stay ablaze. A fire quirk...Beautiful but dangerous all at the same time...

One of the many ways she knew how to put out a fire was limit the oxygen in the air. For her to pull this off, it meant she would have to get rid of her own bubble and risk taking in the smoke and taking more of the heat head on, with the potential of being burned. If it stopped this Villain, then she'd take on whatever came at her. Before he could close a gap between them, she removed her own protection and trapped the man (or woman) in a small dome. One that was strong enough to start thinning out the oxygen within the space. "You're not going to escape... You're going to jail for your crimes and you will pay your due..." her voice was soft, serious, but yet scary at the same time. The heat around her was starting to finally cover her like a thick blanket, along with the smoke in the air that began to fill her lungs. “Oh my, Ichiro! Are you falling for me?~” hearing that voice over the comms made her feel relieved, Ruri more than likely saved Ichiro from the window he was either pushed, or jumped out of.

"I have the hostile contained, but with this heat and the smoke, I'm not sure how long I can keep this up..." she said to the team in hopes someone could help bring this guy out. For the time being, she made sure to start killing out the fire that still covered his body from head to toe. Slowly but surely, those flames started to get smaller and smaller due to lack of the oxygen. He might suffocate but what am I going to do? If I don't put his fire out now, he could continue making things worse for everyone in this building.

Muto didn't like what he'd heard. He picked up word about a hostile man with a fire Quirk, and Ichiro sounded like he was in some serious trouble. Fire was trouble. He already had trouble convincing his roaches to charge head long into an oven that would cook many of them alive, he wasn't going to be much direct help against the guy either. Hell, Ichiro even saved him the trouble of pointing out where the man was. Third floor. Still, he needed to get eyes on the guy. That could change any time.

Suddenly, word came through. Katherine. She had successfully apprehended the villain, but who knows how long she could keep that up? Sure, the villain's fire may be quelled with time, but that didn't stop the fires he'd already started. Katherine was going to be in some serious trouble if she didn't receive backup soon and if she passed out from smoke inhalation, the villain would be free, then she'd be in some really deep trouble.

Dammit! Muto cursed internally. Hal, keep an eye on her. I'm going in to lend a hand!

Muto broke into a sprint, pushing past several emergency responders along the way. "Excuse me! Pardon me! Sorry, need to move now!" Hal was chirping back. He'd found the pair. The smoke was thick and it was difficult to make out, but Hal was able to confirm a visual. He thanked the roach internally for being so reliable in gathering information. The remaining roaches he'd sent in scoped out the quickest path to her position.

This was already a breech of team protocol. Muto was a support/intelligence gatherer, not a fighter. His Quirk wasn't suited to direct combat like most of the others and he was often advised to stay back to minimize risk of injury, but he couldn't just stand by, knowing a teammate was under duress and could be in danger.

"Katherine!" He called out, pressing his face into his sleeve. "Hold on, I'm coming to help! Just try to hold your breath!"

“This is why we can’t have nice things.”

Tsukuyomi fixes his tie. And takes a long deep breath and lets out a sigh, after he gave Dante his much-needed medical attention. He should be used to this by now. Dante always gets himself into trouble, but this time was different. Even though Tsukuyomi kept a calm manner as he fixed up his friend. Something about this time felt different than all the others. This is the first time that Tsukuyomi saw his friend in great pain. His train of thought breaks as he hears Ruri call out to Dante “I wonder if you taste as crispy as you look” says Ruri. Seeing one of his teammates that were in the building not come out of it as a burnt marshmallow relieved some stress from Tsukuyomi. He commented on Ruri’s remark, but she wasn’t listening. She was too focused on Dante’s condition, even though he was healing before their eyes that was still a close one. Tsukuyomi doesn’t blame her for caring for Dante. He’s a charismatic goofball with a hero’s heart. What’s not to like about him?

"I have a hostile on the third floor, he has a fire quirk. He has me cornered-"

Hostile?, Tsukuyomi thought, this day just gets better and better, doesn’t it?

“Shit. I’m on my way, Ichiro!” Ruri says as she looks back at Dante and Tsukuyomi

RURI NO WAIT!!! Shouted Tsukuyomi. He knew from past missions and training that Ruri was at a disadvantage when she went against a fire quirk. She better be careful. Well, hopefully, safer than Dante.

Suddenly you hear the breaking of a window and Ichiro’s body falling from it. Tsukuyomi quickly sent a shade out to create a soft surface of some kind to break Ichiro’s fall, but Ruri beats him to it. As Ruri slowly descends, Tsukuyomi waits for them so that he can look at Ichiro’s injuries. It wasn’t as bad as Dante's but still was some decent wounds. He mainly had three medium size shards of glass within the upper part of his back. Nothing fatal or anything to get him out of the fight but if these don’t heal right they may leave some cool-looking scars. Other than that, there were small bits of glass scattered throughout his clothes. “Don’t worry, Ichiro, I’ll fix you up quick.’ said Tsukuyomi.

As he pours alcohol and peroxide to clean the wound Tsukuyomi hears Katherine over the coms. "I have the hostile contained, but with this heat and the smoke, I'm not sure how long I can keep this up..." Muto responds with "Katherine! Hold on, I'm coming to help! Just try to hold your breath!" Tsukuyomi facepalms and thinks You can’t be serious? He is a recon hero. He needs protection if he plans on running in there. But Tsukuyomi looked and saw Muto running to the half-burning building. Tsukuyomi calls out in the coms “Someone needs to follow Muto inside. He will lead you to Katherine and the hostile.”

As Aiko and the other two firemen made it to the sixth floor, more commotion sounded beneath her feet as her comms flared. Calls for aid from the heroes on the team and alerts of various civilians needing medical attention were constant, but one voice rang loud and clear as the trio examined ax marks and extinguished flame that indicated this floor was already cleared: Kathrine's.

"I have a hostile on the third floor, he has a fire quirk. He has me cornered-"

The chatter became panic, and suddenly everyone's attention was on the rapidly deteriorating situation. Aiko could only stand still, flames licking her heels as she began to relay this information to her two firemen. "You guys need to get out of here. Fire exit, stairs, something. We've got a villain on the third floor and you guys can't be here." Both men nodded and scurried off to the nearest known fire escape at the side of the building. Protocol when dealing with villains was simple: Get the civilians out of the way as fast as possible, preferably a block away at the very least, but her protocol and whatever the other heroes outside were doing were two separate things.

"I have the hostile contained, but with this heat and the smoke, I'm not sure how long I can keep this up..."

Today just got better and better. It sounded like Ichiro was the second person to make their own daring escape out of a window, and this time he had Ruri to make sure he didn't break any bones on landing. Kathrine had apparently taken Ichiro's spot in dealing with the villain, and from how that was sounding, it was about as good as she thought. She was about to press her finger to open her comms until a third and final voice blared through her mic.

"Kathrine! Hold on, I'm coming to help! Just try to hold your breath!"

"Mother-" She silently swore to herself. As much as Kathrine could get herself hurt from this, Kenzo had absolutely no place in a burning building against a fire quirk. Aiko wouldn't be able to forgive herself if the friendliest roach alive got himself hurt or worse.

“Someone needs to follow Muto inside. He will lead you to Katherine and the hostile.”

"Ten steps ahead of you Tsuku, I'll be down there in a minute." She announced, half cursing how slow she'd been in clearing the previous floor. If she'd been just a little faster, then perhaps the villain would've already been dealt with and Kat wouldn't have to put herself into such a precarious situation, and Kenzo wouldn't have had to felt the need to follow suit. Each bounding step down the stairs to the second floor was accompanied by a hypothetical that would've bailed them out of this specific situation. If she had woken up five minutes earlier, she would've had been able to turn on her morning routine bot to get her everything she needed to be a hero for the day, including supplies for not only fires, but also tornados, earthquakes, spatial anomalies, and even villains, which she always had just about every other day.

In between going as fast as possible and blaming herself for being the worst hero ever, she finally stopped at the third floor and quickly located her teammates through the use of a device scan, easily locating the powerful signal frequencies of their communication devices. As she waded through the choking smoke, she saw Kathrine holding an intense focus, and Kenzo struggling to figure out to help out.

The villain, for the moment, was contained within Nexette's force field, but she wasn't breathing clean air. She'd need to promote the installation of trachea replacements as soon as they got back from debrief. Without a second thought, Aiko loaded up a foam grenade in her right arm. Seams were all over the ceilings, the walls, and the floor. Any serious force would knock down this building without much resistance. What could they do?

"We're here now Kat. We've got foams and a few other gadgets, and an extra pair of hands and eyes. What's the plan?"

"I have a hostile on the third floor, he has a fire quirk. He has me cornered-"

There they were, the words that threw the whole situation down the drain and triggered a domino effect of unfortunate events. Any semblance of normalcy you could even have during that sort of situation was utterly lost, all agency members now needed to pull their a-game to ensure the best possible outcome to this crisis. Though for a brief moment this wasn’t the case, as a matter of fact Nakano was quite hyped up at the idea of caving in the skull of whoever had caused this whole mess, after all somebody had to avenge those who had perished during the fire. Nevertheless, whatever thoughts of violence and grandeur she might’ve been enjoying were suddenly cut short by a blood-chilling sound: Glass shattering and the horrified screams of the crowd around her. Somebody had jumped off the building. Nakano shifted her gaze towards the source of the sound, already expecting the worst possible sight. Her worst-case scenario predictions were somewhat accurate, as the first thing she saw was Ichiro. Had Ruriko not been there to cushion his fall he would’ve definitely been an even worse sight to behold.

Ichiro’s fall. Katherine’s message. Muto’s mindless actions. The crowd’s growing unrest. Everything was going to shit, and all Nakano did was stand there, unsure of what to do. In a brief moment fueled by adrenaline the tiger girl began giving chase to the roach lad, hoping to aid him and Kat in any way she could. As she rushed towards the entrance though, Nakano’s gaze met with the crowd’s, a realization slowly creeping up her spine: The villain could always bring the flames outside. At that moment her role within this chaotic situation finally became clear, she needed to be the last line of defense, a task that would be near impossible should all these civilians choose to remain in the area. Nakano immediately changed directions and ran towards a group of police officers that had recently arrived at the scene. “Okay listen to me, we have no time to waste. We’ve confirmed the presence of a villain within the complex, should he be able to make his way outside the lives of every single person in this area will be in danger. He’s the reason behind the fire. Start evacuation procedures immediately, we must ensure their safety at all costs.”. Upon hearing her words the policemen were quick to act, immediately heading towards the crowd and ordering them to retreat away from the immediate area. Still, if she wanted the civies to properly get the message it was best for them to hear it straight from the horse’s mouth. After taking a few steps towards the largest gathered crowd and assuming a solemn stance Nakano spoke out:

“LEAVE! NOW!” The potency of her words dwarfed even that of her initial announcement back when she had first arrived. A few civilians had even recoiled back from the sheer volume of her voice. “YOUR SAFETY IS THE EAGLE AGENCY’S TOP PRIORITY, WHICH IS WHY YOU MUST TO EVACUATE THE AREA! DO NOT PUT YOUR LIFE AND THAT OF YOUR LOVED ONES IN DANGER! FOLLOW THE OFFICERS OR I’LL BE SURE TO REMOVE YOU MYSELF!” The tiger girl’s booming tone of voice was all a grand majority of the crowd members needed to start vacating the area. Sure, there were still a few stragglers here and there, and of course the medical, police and fire departments were staying behind, but at least the situation had become much easier to handle should the fight be taken outside.

“Here is your Capri Sun. Now drink up and get up. You got people to save and I have patients to see”

Dante nodded his thanks. Though, he decided to forgo the straw and bite into the pack itself. He didn't have the time to sip, he needed to get back into the fight as soon as he could. The first signs of his healing didn't take long. It was the loud, audible pops as his ribs began to mend themselves, causing his body to jolt almost violently as his body began to repair.

“I wonder if you taste as crispy as you look,”

Dante's crimson gaze up towards her. He managed a bit of a smile around the rapidly draining bag, but if she looked at his eyes, she'd see how they wavered. He was in a level of pain none of them had seen him in before. And while he could normally play it off like he almost didn't feel pain, he couldn't wear that mask while his eyes were visible. Even as small spots of pale skin began to peek through the scorched and blackened remnants of his skin, the agony had only intensified. He didn't tell them this, but the very process of healing amplified the pain while he regenerated. It was enough for tears to form in the corners of his vision despite his best efforts to hide it.

In that case, it was slightly to his fortune that Ichiro made his expeditious departure from the building to draw Ruri's attention away. That was good. It meant she wouldn't see how bad off he really was. If she knew she'd really give him a scolding... Given his mask was lost in the fire, he didn't have comms anymore, but that didn't mean he couldn't hear what was on Tsuki's. It was fortunate he usually let the comm hang off so he wouldn't be so distracted by chatter while he was conducting his triages.

"I have the hostile contained, but with this heat and the smoke, I'm not sure how long I can keep this up..."

For a moment, Dante heaved a sigh of relief. She had him contained. That meant this was all about wrapped u-....

Dante felt his blood run cold as he looked up at the building. It was subtle, to the point you wouldn't notice from the inside, but smoke was subtly being drawn back into the building. It was a hot summer day, of course most everyone in the complex had their windows closed. That meant the entire building was rapidly becoming the perfect storm, and the floor where Katherine was, and where others were moving to, was where the worst of it was. It was set to be an even more explosive backdraft than what he, himself had been caught in. Worse, they didn't yet know that was what he'd been caught in.

"We're here now Kat. We've got foams and a few other gadgets, and an extra pair of hands and eyes. What's the plan?"

"NO!"
Dante croaked out, ignoring the pain once again as he dropped the bag. He forced himself to his feet, stumbling and staggering much like a zombie towards Tsukuyomi. He didn't care that the unhealed portions of his skin tore open with fresh injuries that made blood run afresh down his body. He grabbed Tsuki's comms and held it up to his ear.

"Nexette, Frame, listen to me, whatever you do, do NOT let him be exposed to air!" Dante rasped, tasting blood as his scorched lungs fought against his efforts to give them warning. He spat out a chunk of clotted blood, pushing the pain to the back of his mind as he watched the worrying signs of a backdraft growing more ominous under his gaze. They'd be able to hear the pain in his voice, in his labored breathing.... But he couldn't worry about appearances now.

"This building is a poorly... Poorly vented nightmare. I can.... I can see the signs from out here. It's ripe for a backdraft and you're right in the middle of the worst point. If you expose.... that... that villain to the carbon monoxide in that building, it will..." He convulsed a bit as he coughed more blood out of his lungs. "It will create a backdraft a lot worse than what caught me. If you've... got him bubbled, the air in that bubble is superheating. You.... You won't be able... to get foam on him before it creates a backdraft..... And... it.. may bring the entire building down on you.... assuming the explosion.... never mind that for now... What... what we need to do is get him out of there and away from the carbon monoxide. We'll need him out... out here so we can limit the effects of the backdraft..."

Of course, Dante wasn't stupid, the area wasn't evacuated fully yet. The worst part was the triage station. There were many who were not ambulatory. "Those of us who are outside..... Prioritize evacuating Marionette's triage area.... and getting them to ambulances.... Police will handle blockading civilians...." He spoke as clear as he could. He wasn't a leader. That was Eagle's schtick. Right now, though, they were too disjointed. As one of the younger heroes, he wasn't sure they'd listen, but they needed to heed his warning at the very least. The signs were clear. If that villain was let loose too soon, the backdraft would likely spell the end of Muto, Katherine, and Aiko, as well as the firefighters still conducting rescue operations inside the building if they hadn't gotten out yet.

"Demoness, standby to help Nexette and Frame bring this guy out... Marionette... As soon as you've got your triage area cleared help secure this guy.." Tsuki's shades, after all, didn't have to deal with burns, so they'd be ideal for bringing this guy down. His blood was an option too, but he was still recovering, which meant he wouldn't be nearly as effective if the villain put up a real fight. He spit out a bit more blood from his lungs, wiping his mouth on the back of his hand. He'd been forcing himself to keep his sentences more leveled and his voice more even, but it was a struggle. He knew he looked like absolute hell. He knew that the news choppers overhead were watching, scrutinizing his every move. He couldn't look beaten down, not now. No matter how much he felt it....

A Cheshire Cat's grin spread over his lips when he moved his hand away. "Time to see exactly how plus ultra we can be...," He murmured to himself, forcing himself to stand tall and uphold heroic appearances. Hopefully, it'd be an easy restrain once he was outside. He'd fizzle out and with everyone here, he didn't stand a chance. "Get moving everyone. We've still got work to do!"

It was time for Eagle Agency to Go Beyond.

Gorgeous pink petals casually drifted away carried by the wind. The whole place was abuzz with life, it seemed like it was going to be a good day.

"We'll meet back at the park square in an hour, I just need to go over to that building over there. There's some kind of event going on!"

"Fine but be back soon. I'm still responsible for you even though you turned eighteen today. In the meantime, I'll hang around the cherry blossom area."

...

...How did things end up like this? Clenching his fists, he finally took his eyes off the ground and surveyed the area. Everyone was being evacuated of course, since no sane quirkless person would want to stay and watch the spectacle that's rapidly unfolding in front of him. Well even if they wanted to, they were being held back by some big time heroes from some agency. Why are you always getting me into these type of situations Parona. You have such a penchant for trouble. Undeterred by some man-animal shouting to stay away, Masaru headed towards the center of all the action and activated his quirk. Hands getting warmer, like a dormant volcano waking up.

(Stuff ahead is filler, so feel free to scroll past the blurry stuff)

A few weeks earlier...

"-AND DON'T SHOW UP HERE AGAIN!" The door in front of him was slammed with such ferocity that he thought that the entire house might collapse. Wow. For someone who has a sign on their porch that says: "Be Kind to Everyone," they sure are a bitch. I can't believe she's one of my aunts...well I can actually. They've all been nothing but batshit crazy just because I'm his son.

He took out a notepad and a pen from his travel bag and scratched out yet another address and name. Only one address was left on the list, and that was supposedly where his grandparents were at. Perhaps he could make one more trip and get a hold of them, in the hopes that they were still alive. Just then he received a text message from his phone. One. Two. Then three. He knew exactly who it was.

He pressed the call button and was welcomed with an all too familiar enthusiastic voice albeit a little panicked, "RU! You better not! I didn't pick up your call so my ears would go out this early in the morning!"

Chuckling, he replied, "Oh right it's about to be seven there but relax, I'm just messing with you. Besides, I have a feeling she won't be opening up her door any time soon. When I showed up, it was like she saw a Shinigami. Maybe I should have removed my flashy red headband."

"Nah that would've made it worse! It is an ugly scar after all~"

"Oh be quiet...although you do have a point." With that, he sat down on the pavement and put the phone down next to him on the ground. He took off his headband and then retightened it, suddenly feeling self-conscious about the whole thing.

"So what now?"

"I'm not sure. It's been pretty disheartening but it's only natural for them to react that way. I'm surprised they're even keeping tabs on what their brother does. But I guess talk of Meltdown's crimes aren't bound inside Japan."

"Then come home Ru. Please?"

For a while, it was just silence. It'd be nice to go back home but there was unfinished business in the States that he wanted to take care of first. Uncomfortable shuffling could be heard from the other side of the call.

"I'm sorry, I-I'm being selfish now. This one's been your longest stay by far overseas, it's been almost a year since you left. But everyone does miss you- I miss you... To think, your real family's pretty much abandoned you and they're less than a mile away...but here I am- here WE are - the village is still checking up on you even though you're a long ways away from us. So please, think about it-" She paused for a moment, "-Kay?~"

She dropped the call, and he was left with a bunch of thoughts in his head. To him, it sounded like she forced that last bit to keep from crying. Home. Damn it Ronnie, if you didn't care so much...if they all didn't care, it would've been way easier to just ditch the idea of coming back.

He hesitated for a moment. The last address on his notepad stared at him, but as if to seal the deal, his phone buzzed again.

*bzzt bzzt* [Ronnie (1 NEW MESSAGE)]

Oh boy... It read: Oh and it's almost my birthday! Were you actually planning on missing it!? You better come back before then 😤😤 I'd like to go outside of our place this time! Maybe Tokyo? Oooh, like Ueno Park! And it's spring! Did you know it's the best place to see cherry blossoms in Tokyo? 🌸

...

Of all the places and at this exact hour. He couldn't help but grind his teeth like crazy. Parona, I'm coming. I'll give you everything that I've got.

Slithering by, he cautiously made his way around the anxious clusters of civilians. It was the police and the heroes and all the rest that might want to stop him that he had to be careful with. He definitely didn't want to be caught right at the very beginning. At least let them catch him after he's gone and safely got his niece. Only he knows the tricky inner workings of her quirk.

Finding an unguarded opening, he bolted straight into the entrance. Despite his effort to not be seen, his fluttering red headband always betrayed him whenever there was a time that called for stealth. Shouts rang out across the police and the crowd, "HEY YOU, JUST WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOI-"

Maybe I should fix that for future reference. Did that piss the tiger woman off? To just leap in front of her like that without consequence. He was sure she would appear any second now to pounce and restrain him. Shaking his head, he told himself that thinking about what these other heroes would do to him only served to distract him. Saving his niece was his responsibility. He forged on, and looked around for the stairs.

She couldn't have gone far, right? It made him wonder why she didn't go outside the moment things became chaotic. There didn't seem to be an event happening at all in fact, so did she lie to him? What was the reason for lying then? With solid footing, he ran up to the second floor but once at the top, he slowed his pace. Easy there Masaru. It's too early to get too worked up. Just find the trail. You've seen it before right?

His niece's quirk made it so that she could take on a ghostly form undetected, no noises except for the shuffling of her feet, and her body temperature even hidden completely. She's gotten so advanced that she's making use of her trail, ghostly floating blue orbs, to go all over the place and confuse her trackers. A countermeasure if someone noticed her presence and decided to look for her...and it was exactly what he didn't want to deal with.

Did the agency heroes already inspect this floor? They probably did a thorough search since they were on the lookout for trapped civilians but knowing her... A sense of dread crept up on him when he saw the familar otherworldly residue a few feet from him. Not too long after noticing it, the suspended orb vanishes. She's still here somewhere... Shouting in the midst of the thick smoke and heat, he called out her name. "Parona!" When that failed, he kept quiet and tried to hone in on her distinct footsteps. Shhh. Shuhh. Shuh. Then suddenly it stopped. At once, he rushed to where he thought it last came from and found it too late to slow down and bumped right in front of her, "Ahhh!" Her quirk deactivated instantly from the collision, and the two of them fell down on the ground.

"Hey that hurt-" Before she could finish her sentence, he grabbed her hand and made his way down to the first floor. "Listen to me, go ahead and leave the building. We'll meet back at the hotel." Her eyes widened and tried to struggle free but she couldn't. So she began to ask him in an annoyed tone, "Wait what!?-" He looked straight at her in the face with a solemn yet burning gaze and shook his head at her. She became silent, ashamed. "You're not in a spot to ask questions right now, in fact, you have a lot of explaining to do."

He paused briefly to focus on coming down safely then proceeded to lecture her, "I might only be five years older than you but I'm still your unc- your grandfather's son. He entrusted me with you because he knew you would be in good hands. Don't go putting yourself in danger like that, what were you thinking!?"

They made it all the way down and he showed her the way out although not without another round of protests from her, "But wait! Couldn't you just leave with me? Let's go! Why are you staying!?" He just waved back at her and he could see police running towards her and moving her away from the scene. You should know the answer to that. You drag me into something, but don't expect me to quit halfway. What kind of person who call themselves a hero turn their back away from this mess?

Like with a flick of a match, his fists transformed into fiery weapons.

Katherine continued to keep her eyes on the Villian, watching his fire continue to die out much like a candle would. As long as she kept the strength of her shield, there would be no issues. Coughing a bit, her focus remained while hearing Muto "Muto you shouldn't come in here..." she said with a sigh "You're not made for dangerous situations like this..." not long after, Aiko herself came to the rescue as well, claiming she had her nifty toys with her to help out. "Our plan is to get him out of here... Though, at the current moment I'm trying to kill his flames with suffocation... As soon as he's knocked out, we can retrieve him and take him out in cuffs..." knowing the others, they were still evacuating and recovering civilians within the burning building. Another cough had escaped her lips as she took a step closer toward the Villain, speaking directly toward him once again "Expect to wake up in a cell..."

The sudden painful yelling from Dante made her raise her eyebrow Why is he talking? He should be recovering right now. she thought, listening to what he had to say in the process "The chances of me creating a backdraft is small..." she replied "Using the quirk I have, in the way I'm using it now, there will not be an issue..." watching as the man got down on his knees, struggling to breathe, she was able to take a better look at his build, noticing he wasn't as large as his flames made him out to be. Nonetheless he was still dangerous and needed to be detained for the destruction he caused, as well as the lives he took. "We are pro Heroes, Dante... We take precautions and assess our situation..." the more she breathed in the smoke, the more it felt like her lungs were getting heavy, tight even. He needs to burn out soon, or else I'll be paying the price for exposing myself like this.

"Nexette, Roach Boy, Frame!" said Eagle over comms "A guy just ran inside the building! You need to get him out and to safety, who knows what'll happen to him!" oh great, someone had ran in trying to be a hero? Was it a quirkless man? Or perhaps someone with a quirk to help? Katherine glanced at her comrades and spoke "Go look for him, I'll take care of this guy... I know I shouldn't be breathing this in, but we make sacrifices..." with that said, her attention focused on the male, while her friends went off to find that boy. It took some time for the flames to finally diminish, but the male finally passed out, giving her the ability to apprehend him and carry him out in the special cuffs they were given. She claimed over comms that she got the Villain and was bringing him out, to which police took him into a special car and Kathy herself gave them a tip on what his quirk was. They took him away with their own plans to take care of him.

Soon, things began to get sorted out, more people were saved, and some lives were still lost. Even the guy who ran inside was brought out, to which Eagle pointed at him and asked him for his name and claimed he would be working with the Eagle Agency for his heroic act on running into danger without a second thought and to save people. He informed him that he should be at the agency tomorrow morning as the rest of the team would be (Unless horribly injured) and he would be introduced to everyone. After that, the Heroes who were inside had medical attention brought to them, while those who were outside began to help the crowd disperse and allow the police/firemen to take over and giving them time to take a look around for any other trouble. Once they had done that, they all began to return to the agency, (Except for those critically injured or insisted to come in regardless) getting debriefed, given forms to fill out about the incident and after that it was an average day.

After that, the next morning everyone was expected to come back, as they did. All meeting up in the meeting room, only to be introduced to the newest member of their team: Katayama Masaru, known as Slowburn for his quirk. Eagle congratulated them on a job well done, praising all of his agents for the hard work and expected them all to work as they usually do for the day till something were to come up. He left them in the room with their newest member, to which Katherine herself spoke in her usual soft tone "Welcome to the Eagle Agency...I'm Katherine...Known as Nexette..." hopefully he wouldn't have to ask her to repeat herself if he didn't hear her...She really wasn't one to talk very loud and was just naturally soft and quietly spoken.

EVERYONE is tagged in this, it's the next day and we're all in the meeting room. Bonding time and sandbox mode.

Time was ticking, and each second she stood there trying to formulate a plan was another second ticked off her many timers. Nexette, accounting for how long she'd been in the building, only had approximately 3 more minutes before she passed out from smoke inhalation. Her filter had exactly 8 minutes and 17 seconds remaining before she needed to replace it or begin to choke, and she didn't even want to account for how much time the villain had in Nexette's trap (2 minutes and 40 seconds, if she put him in the bubble the second she called out to the rest of the team her situation). Each wasted second was painful as her internal timers reminded her that each of their likelihoods of survival was swiftly going down the drain. Some talk was given by Dante, but the blood rush wasn't helping with concentration whatsoever.

"Nexette, Roach Boy, Frame!" Her attention snapped to the sound of her superior's voice. "A guy just ran inside the building! You need to get him out and to safety, who knows what'll happen to him!" Without a second thought, the cyborg bolted down the stairs to find the civilian. Either this guy had some sort of speed quirk to get past Nakano, or the tigress was slacking hard and let any old civie through the hot gates.

The sound of a startled shout led her to the second floor, where she spotted two civilians, a guy, and a little girl, rushing down the stairs to the first floor. She silently stalked them as the guy directed the girl out the front door. Noting how he had saved a civilian from a floor that had been declared cleared, she figured that maybe they'd have a new recon quirk on their hands, but as the stranger's hands began to ignite, she assumed otherwise.

She hoped Muto could take care of himself because she wasn't about to allow this guy to try and start another fire. "Sir, you're coming with me!" With a flick of her wrist, a grappling hook sent herself sailing from the stairwell towards the door, barreling right into the stranger and catching him in her other arm. The two skidded across the ground on her metal feet, and Eagle made his grand appearance. There was some back and forth as Eagle took the stranger away, but for now, her job was done. It was time to wait in the wings like everyone else, and hope that Nexette got out safe.

This morning, Frame found herself putting together another newer creation of hers: the Servo-Knuckle. It was an overcomplicated thing that essentially allowed her to hit harder, have immense grip strength, and even start up a car if need be. It even built upon the grapple hand she had the other day by also being able to shoot out the hand and pull herself or the thing she caught to her. The only problem she had with it was that it was bulky, and it was very heavy. Two things that weren't conducive to effective hero work. Plus, it made wearing things that had long sleeves difficult, like her hero outfit. As much as she liked the black jacket, she found that trying to get the sleeves over any of her combat arms was a pain, and it was rolled up so far that it started to cut off what little circulation she had to the arm in the first place.

Eagle had introduced their newest guy, Masaru, or Slowburn, but that wasn't the most of her concern. Her concern was with making fun of Nakano for letting Masaru get into the building in the first place, and redeeming that favor with Ruri, but introductions always came first. She gave a wave with her other hand, which was a mess of tools and wires in the place of fingers. "Sorry for the pull yesterday! I'm Aiko Tagami!" She shouted across the room. She had many ways of introducing herself. Client meetings were usually done a few stories off the ground in some fancy restaurant where the bill came out to four figures. Meeting mutual friends was always done with a fist bump since she learned that people usually find their palms pinched whenever they shake her hand. Hero introductions, outside of costume? While she was busy? Eh. She was sure he'd see him more in the future, especially if he needed some comm devices installed in his person or otherwise.

For now, though, she wanted to focus her attention on the other thing she wanted to do today. Even though the thing was bulky as hell and capable of punching a hole through concrete, she figured that she'd give the arm a break. After all, if there weren't any calls to be had, that favor she wanted was first and foremost on her docket. Luckily for her, she had pointedly sat herself down next to Ruri just for this reason.

"Ruriko, do you remember the gift I gave you yesterday and the favor that I said I would like from you sometime in the future?" She said with something of a mischievous grin. "I think I want to redeem it today if we've got nothing to do." Without much effort, she detached the experimental arm and slipped on a more conventional one in its place. "How do you feel about going to the mall for a few hours?"

Demoness

“Around eight in the morning today, there was a reported fire in the Ueno District. Behind me is the Suezo Apartments - and as you can see, the fire department is currently containing the flames, trying to minimize the damage and hopefully salvage the foundation of this large building. Here beside me, I have Demoness -! One of the many heroes of the Eagle Agency to respond to the incident. Demoness, can you comment on what exactly happened here?”

“Of course! The Eagle Agency was notified of the fire and quickly dispatched many heroes - myself included. With the flames rapidly spreading, our main priority was a search and rescue for any residents that may have been trapped inside,” Ruriko explained to the newscaster beside her. While her hair had been smoothed down before the reporters went live, there was nothing much she could do about her current outfit. She remained decent but her left sleeve had been burned off up to the elbow and there were several tears in her skirt and long socks.

“Some witnesses reported seeing an arrest being made on site, was the apartment complex targeted by a villain?” Ruriko rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly, trying to decide whether the man in custody could actually be classified as a villain or a disgruntled civilian. “We did encounter a hostile individual, yes. Given he had a fire related quirk, we were led to believe he started the fire. Luckily we had Nexette to apprehend him before any more damage could be done to the building.”

“I see, and do you think this fire is connected to the explosion that happened a few hours prior in the Akihabara District?” For a split second, Ruriko’s expression turned serious as she thought about the possibility of the two incidents being related. “We don’t have the evidence to support that so I can’t say for sure but the Eagle Agency will be the first to respond if any new information comes to light,” her cheerful expression returned as she reassured the reporter and practically any citizen that was watching the news.

“Well, thank you for taking the time to speak with us, Demoness! More information soon but for now, I’m Asai Hanae and we’ll be switching over to Yanai Hinako who will be doing a segment on: Do household pets manifest quirks as well?”

[the next morning]

Unlike yesterday, Ruriko decided to use her quirk to get to the agency on time to avoid Eagle’s wrath. She arrived much better prepared as she ate a decent breakfast earlier and had a hot cup of hot chocolate in her hand. Once all the notable heroes were present, Eagle was quick to introduce their newest member of the team, Katayama Masaru - the one that had slipped through Nakano and entered the burning building with them. He was rather attractive and seemingly one to enjoy throwing themselves into danger as demonstrated yesterday. Ruriko propped up her elbow on the table, resting her cheek against her palm as she continued to stare at the newbie. Was it too early to start her antics? Of course it wasn’t.

“Ruriko, do you remember the gift I gave you yesterday and the favor that I said I would like from you sometime in the future?”

Before she could stand up from her seat, Aiko had pulled her attention away from Masaru, reminding her of the favor she apparently owed. “How do you feel about going to the mall for a few hours?” Ruriko’s heart skipped a beat at her suggestion. This is what Aiko wanted as a favor from her? To go to the mall with her? She would have never guessed in a million years but she thanked any god that was listening that her friend finally wanted to spend some quality time with her. “I would love to go! I’m so glad you’re finally coming around to changing your wardrobe. A couple hours of shopping with me and all the men and women won’t take their eyes off you after the outfits I pick out for you!”

She stood up from her seat excitedly, looking around the room to decide who else they should invite. Who else would greatly benefit from Ruriko’s fashion expertise…? “Kathy!” Ruriko practically skipped on over to the quiet woman, slinging her arm around her shoulder, “Aiko and I are going to the mall - you should come with us!~” Her gaze turned over to Masaru and a flirtatious grin appeared on her face. “You too, Masaru! Consider it as...initiation!~” She offered him a wink before realizing it would be rude to leave out the rest of the team. “Would anyone else like to go to the mall with us? It will be fun, I promise!”

Ichiro Kusumoto

Ichiro's morning involved a lot of coughing. His lungs hadn't exactly recovered from all the smoke he inhaled the night before. He ended up coughing his cereal up onto his new suit, "Son of a bitch." He'd have to go change into a new one before he left to go to the agency. His back wasn't in good shape either but after some mild painkillers, he felt fine. He'd have to thank Tsukuyomi for his help later. Ichiro skipped his coffee this morning, opting to take a few swigs of his flask to get himself through part of the day. He couldn't exactly hide the scent of alcohol on his breath but he really didn't care this morning. He often didn't after events such as the day before and he really didn't care what the others thought, only Eagle.

He stopped by a news stand that happened to be playing the morning news, something he often ignored but something he heard made him stay and watch. "The suspect from yesterdays apartment fire has been found dead in his cell this morning. The police are investigating it as a murder. The police chief has declined to comment." Ichiro's face stayed the same but on the inside, his mind was reacting. Good riddance, once less villain in this world. He looked down on his watch and realized he was at risk of being late. He walked away, heading towards the Eagle Agency once more.

He arrived just in time for Eagle's debrief and with Eagle's debrief came another member of the agency, Slowburn or Masaru. Ichiro was all to familiar with the fire quirk types but they weren't as bad as the strength based ones.
"I guess we'll need a fire extinguisher around for him." Ichiro said, browsing the internet on his phone. He just saw a cool monkey picture that he liked on twitter, one dressed up as a clown. He gave every sidekick a hassle when they arrived. He considered it his duty to make mess around with the new recruits, whether they liked it or not. He let out a few coughs before continuing to browse.

Ichiro sighed as he heard that they were planning to go to the mall and the issue wasn't that he didn't want to go. The question was did he have enough money to go? Ichiro started loading up his bank's app to see how much money he actually had in his account.
A hundred dollars? Looks like I'll be eating like a king this week. With more money in his account than expected, he did need a new pair of shoes since his last one got destroyed by a muddy puddle. "I guess I'm inclined to go as well, I need a new pair of shoes." Ichiro said, rising up from his chair. He was hoping they had a sale going on because the Adidasshoes he wanted weren't exactly cheap.

Going to the mall would also give him some more time to acclimate Masaru into the group. "Don't worry rookie, I won't leave you alone to these crazy ladies. Stay away from Ruri especially." He said, wrapping his arm around Masaru. "I would take you to a bar but they aren't open at this time in the morning sadly." Ichiro said, dropping his arm from around him. If the bar were open, he probably would have spent all one hundred dollars on it. Alcohol is more important than shoes, at least to Ichiro. Luckily, the flask in his front pocket was there to get him through it. He might be able to find some more at the mall if he was lucky.

43…44…46.. Tsukuyomi stands there with a clipboard as he looks over The people who are still at the Evec center. 47… 48… 49. “ this is the worst part of my job,” he mumbles to himself. Then, as at this moment, based on what’s on his clipboard, they have given medical care to 49 civilians. That’s not even counting the people in critical condition who were hurried to the hospital. It is hard for me to keep a straight face. Always wear a smile, they say. When you have seen the amount of death, I have sometimes seen it’s hard to smile after a mission.

“Excuse me, Mister?” Tsukuyomi turns around and sees a little girl. “I just wanted to come over here and say thank you very much for saving my papa“ He was confused. He’s helped so many people a day that he doesn’t know who she was talking about. Tsukuyomi’s straight confused face quickly changes to a grin. You got a put on a strong face for the kids. “You’re welcome, sweetie. Now, do you know where your papa is” A little girl nods her head no. “well, let’s go find him“ Tsukuyomi reaches his hand out, and the little girl grabs it as they walk through the people still being medically cleared for the little gold point to an old gentleman. She lets go of Suki‘s hand and runs to the gentleman. She smiles and cries tears of joy, saying that her grandfather is OK. Tsukuyomi remembers this gentleman; he was one of the people that Ruri saved. I won’t bother them; it seems like I would interrupt their beautiful moment. The little girl was being tossed up in the air by her grandfather’s play for screams of joy excitement came out of the little girl what the biggest smile that everyone and a grandfather could love.

THE NEXT MORNING

Tsukuyomi walks into the meeting room with two glass containers with tin foil on top of it. He sets them down in front of Ruri and remarks, “well, I promised I’d make this for you.” he slow unwraps the tin foil from one of the containers. The smell of fresh ravioli fills the air. “And you always need something to compliments the main dish, so I made garlic bread for you as well.” Eagle interrupts the display with an announcement about a new member of the Agency named Masaru. A recruit? Ugh. That means a lot of paperwork for me to do. Tsukuyomi walks into his office (that is across the hall) and grabs a 3-page bundle of papers of medical papers. He walks over to the recruit to introduce himself after Ichiro: “Hi, I am Tsukuyomi. The other Heros will want to introduce themselves to you, so I’m going to make this quick. Make sure you fill out this medical form so that we know your basic medical needs when you are on the field or in the office. Welcome the Agency, Masaru!” Tsukuyomi walks over to finish his conversation with Ruri when he hears, "Would anyone else like to go to the mall with us? It will be fun, I promise!” Tsukuyomi smiles and answers, "Sure might as well someone needs to be the adult." He needs something to calm his mind. Yesterday was crazy; this may be the medicine that he needs.
