((So, I don't really know how to start, but since Mena-chan said we could, I'm just going to go for it and hope it's okay ^^'' ))

"How annoying," Geir muttered under his breath, honey colored eyes counting the last of the money he had in a small pouch. "Not much left, maybe enough for a few more meals and a drink or two...I guess I need to find some work, then." The man closed his eyes and sighed, running a hand through his blue hair. "How inconvenient," he groaned before carefully putting his money pouch away and adjusting the holster on his back that carried his two swords. Glancing up at the setting sun, the man started walking down the road he was on. There were many trees surrounding him, tall and lush with green leaves and casting dark shadows that grew longer with the setting sun.

I have to be in Yume territory by now. Not an ideal place to find work, but maybe someone will want to hire a mercenary or something, Geir pondered, looking up at the sunset. He kept walking while staring up at the sky, not too concerned with watching where he was going since the path he was on was generally clear of others, as far as he could see.

Ivy began to explore the masses of shrubbery and long grass within the forest. It made her feet ache, and her tail slapped against her back in an irritated fashion. Having escaped her siblings, and the kingdom, she was rather smug with herself. Being the Yume's youngest princess, she was watched 24/7...That was until the sun rose, when most people were asleep. It strained her mind and body to be awake at such a time, but she loved to watch the sun rise and fall, and at this time, it was setting. She had to see it. Her claw like nails clung onto the trees as she waded through the undergrowth with reluctance. If found, she would surely be scolded; it would be worth it.

Her deep grey ears twitched, the White, fluffy interior fur insulated them from getting cold. Luckily for her, her clothing made it easy for her to pad through the thick plants with ease. She was wearing a baggy grey jumper that had belonged to her brother once. It hung way below her knees, crinkling at the waist where it was too big. And her silver hair hung in thick waves along her back and waist. Though her feet were bare, she could still slyly manoeuvre around the forest until she came to a road and paused, staring at the settling sun with her mouth agape in amusement. Bright purple eyes wide, she watched the sun fall in awe.

The Black Fang

The Black Fang was to be found lying flat on the upper floor of his humble abode, built from the forest itself with use of both the raw nature and artificial additions. He was laying flat looking deep into The Dark Forest because he was both hunting and improving his marksmanship, not that it needed any improvement. BANG He fired a shot and a tiny bird off in the distance flying at speed across the canopy exploded into a flurry of feathers. He loaded another shot and took aim, this time at a large deer exploring the distant underbrush. It was stood so far away that it couldn't have heard his prior shot and so, as he took a deep breath, he placed his finger over the trigger. Just as he squeezed to kill the noble beast one of his more trusted men interrupted him sending the shop flying past the deer, only piercing its ear. "Sir, the prince-" "THE PRINCE?" Dracosi burst out, rising from the ground. "Unless the Prince has successfully escaped then you DO NOT NEED MY INPUT. And if he has escaped and telling me was a PRIORITY then you will find yourself at the end of this gun." The other man looked oddly calm for a man faced with the Black Fang in one of his worse moods "No, Fang, he simply refuses to stop insulting your name unless you 'deign to meet with him.'"

"I see, this matter could have waited, as you well know. Tell him I send my regards and then tell him that I 'Deign' to stop his food for the next two days." he said as he stifled a laugh "Pompous little Prince, his 'cell' is as luxurious as a palace and he still feels it worth complaining about." he said as he shooed the other man away and lay back down to aim in the distance, hoping that he would see sentient prey, the most noble of hunts.

A cool breeze rustled the leaves of the forest trees, a few loose leaves traveling the wind along the ground. Geir watched the sky as it became stained with bright oranges and pinks, the warm colors reminding him of the warmth of the mountains. As nice as it is to travel, I do wish more places would be warmer...Maybe a nice 90 degrees, maybe 100. Yeah, that would be good, he thought to himself, silently cursing the cold wind. He refused to button up his open shirt, however. If he was going to look for a job as a mercenary, showing weakness to the cold would only harm his chances at finding work.

Finally taking his eyes off of the sky, Geir looked ahead at where he was going. "Does this road actually lead anywhere good? A tavern, maybe..." he muttered out loud, cursing himself for not picking up a map in the last town he had visited. As he walked, the man noticed something at the side of the road a few yards away. It looked like a girl, looking up at the sunset, much like Geir had been doing moments ago.
Is that a Yume? the man noted, noticing the girl's cat-like ears. A little early for her to be out, isn't it? Oh well, she probably knows the area enough to give me directions.

"Excuse me," Geir called out as he walked closer to the girl, "could you give me directions to the nearest town?" His face wore a slightly annoyed expression and his hand traveled up to the rub the back of his neck as he called out his question, really hating to admit to needing directions.

Ivy flinched as she heard a voice, and she assumed he was talking to her, so she turned around to face him. "The nearest town would be that of the Yume's." She stated with a soft nod. "It's through the forest, right, then forwards, then left....Wait, was it a left, or a right?" Frowning to herself, she brought her hand to lay on her left temple, and she rubbed them. This man, who was he? He looked very tall. Very tall. And had very colourful hair that made her stare in awe.

Speaking to another being from outside of her kingdom frightened her, and her tail protectively wrapped around her right leg. Allowing her hands to fall at her sides, her ears pinned. "I can show you the way, if you wish, but the majority of the Yume would be asleep by now. And I apologise because I'm not too sure on where the other cities are." Ivy mumbled in her usual soft tone.

Anguis flew over the forest, he was searching for the Yume capital. He was sent by his parents to negotiate with the Yume that were blaming them for kidnapping their prince, which Anguis knew the dragons had nothing to do with it. He will have to convince a parents who's child was kidnap to think with reason and understand, which he knew will be hard if not impossible depending on the royal family personality. He looked down realizing he was lost trying to find a landmark of a sort, but not being able to find one he sighed he did spot two figures talking how ever as he dived closer to the ground he could see one of them was a Yume which meant she would probably be able to show him the way, the other figure looked human or a dragon in his human form but he doubted any other dragon would be in this parts. He dived to the ground switching to his human form as he landed, his scythe spun in the air and he grabbed it mid air after straightening up. "Excuse me but can any of you show me the way to Yume's castle? I have business with the royal family there" Anguis said with a relax tired tone.

Geir frowned at the girl's response. She doesn't know the way? This girl's going to get me even more lost out here! he thought, his honey colored eyes examining the girl as if analyzing how much help she'd really be. The girl seemed nervous, that much was obvious from her tone and body language. This girl was, however, his best bet at arriving at an actual city in the thick forest, where Geir would not be able to spot a city through the leaves if he were in dragon form. Since it seemed this was he only option, the man finally nodded. "Alright shorty, show me the way," he agreed, adding in the small jab about her height to try to relax her.

Just after he agreed to the girl's offer, however, Geir picked up the sound of wings. Instinctively reaching for the broad sword on his back as a precaution. He turned towards the sky to see a dragon flying towards them. "Another dragon, out here? Now, that's a rare sight," he mumbled, keeping his hand on his sword until he knew this newcomer was not a threat. As the dragon landed and switched to his human form, Geir relaxed his grip on the sword in it's holster, just a little.
The royal castle? That's an odd place for a dragon to go, even for a wanderer like me. I wonder... suspicions rose in Geir's mind about who this newcomer was, but it had been a long time since he had been to his homeland in the mountains. Slowly, the man let go of his grip on his sword and brought his hand down to his side again in a relaxed manner.

"Shorty here just offered to show me to the nearest Yume town. That will probably be your best bet in finding the castle," Geir offered, motioning towards the girl with cat ears.

Kokoro woke with a start, her breath heavy and sweat falling down from her forehead. Taking a slow breath in, then letting it out with a sigh, the woman calmed herself from her nightmare. "I'll find you, I promise," she whispered out loud, making a promise to her brother who had gone missing recently. Even though he was not near her to hear her promise, the woman found some solace in saying the words aloud.

Swinging her feet to the side of her bed and standing, Kokoro walked over to the doors leading out to her balcony, moving the curtains out of the way to look out at the sky through the thick canopy of leaves. It looked as though the sun was still out, though not for much longer, as the woman's blue eyes could pick up shades of oranges and purples through the leaves.
Well, it's early, but I might as well stay up, she decided, not keen on returning to her nightmares that she had almost daily since the prince went missing. The woman started about her early evening rituals of getting ready -- brushing out her long orange hair, combing the fur on her ears and striped tail, etc. Finally, after making herself appear like a proper lady, she picked out her clothes. A form fitting red dress with a slit at the leg and yellow embroidery was her outfit of choice. Not exactly something one would expect the eldest royal princess to wear, as it wasn't perfectly proper, but it was the dress that her and her father had finally found in a compromise. It was dressy enough for the princess to be considered elegant, though not as ladylike as her father had hoped, yet it was also fitted well enough to allow for fluid movements that were perfect for Kokoro's combat training. Not as good as wearing pants, but at least it wasn't some poofy dress that she could barely move around in.

After getting ready for the night, Kokoro exited her room, trying to be quiet as most of her household were still sleeping, save for the guards that were on the day rotations. Still bothered by the nightmare that plagued her, Kokoro decided to check in on her sister to make sure that she was safe. Bare feet making her steps silent on the castle ground, the woman cracked open the door to her sister's room, expecting to see her fast asleep on her bed. Instead, she was met with nothing. Starting to get panicked, the woman knocked on the door as she swung it open farther. "Ivy?" she called out, looking around the room. Her sister was definitely not there. She turned to the guards. "Did you see Princess Ivy leave these quarters?" she ordered, only to be met with a shake of the head and a quick 'no ma'am.' Now panicked, Kokoro barked out quick orders for the guards to start searching, then ran back to her room to grab her staff. Hurrying out to the courtyard, Kokoro started looking for clues to see where her sister could have gone to.

((Sorry for the long post, everyone ^^''))

Icy frowned at the newest stranger who had arrived and she frowned, crossing her arms distastefully. "What do you need to know about the Royal family?" She murmured softly, her voice not as menacing as she had originally intended. Quickly, she then added to Geir, "And, I'm not short!" She managed a childish pout before it twisted into a playful grin.

Stubbornly standing her ground, she tightened her crossed arms which resulted in her jumper being lifted a little higher, and a cold breeze flew up her legs, causing her already large goosebumps to split and increase the number inhabiting her arm. The sunset was beginning to go down, and soon enough it would be night time. Then her people would be awake. Tossing her silver hair onto her back, she looked over at the two with wide, violet eyes. "If you both promise to stay quiet and such, I'm sure I can lead the way. I suspect my sister is already up and out, if she alerts the guar- the neighbours, I will be in deep trouble. Do you comprehend?" She spoke innocently and gently, so softly that it could be doubted she had even spoken at all. The nearby songs of birds made her feel warm inside, and argot waiting for an answer, she had already gambled into the forest, her feet treading through the undergrowth like thick honey.

Anguis shrugged and wondered if he should state his business and position, but he doubted a Yume will let a dragon to just walk into the castle unless they knew who he was considering the current tensions. He released a sigh he hated to introduce himself as "the prince" "My name is Anguis El-Draconis the heir prince of the dragons, I am here to talk about the recent kidnapping of Yume's prince." Anguis made a small bow as he was thought to do by his parents when he was making an introduction then remembering what else they thought him he asked "whats your names?" Asking the two other people who were with him.

Ivy sighed, she wasn't sure on whether to introduce herself by her actual name, and she was pretty sure that if she did, she would be treated differently. "I am.." In the middle of speaking, her eyes darted around the rural area. Ferns. "My name is Fern," she announced with a small curtesy in front of the dragon prince. After walking forwards further, she paused. Wait a second, a prince? This was first time she had ever seen a prince besides her missing brother, and the mention of him made her break a little inside, and she stifled for breath. Absorbing a sharp in take of air, she sighed, her voice cracked ever so slightly, and her tail uncomfortably flickered and curled up between her knees. Her ears on the other hand, perked up to a point before flattening fully against her scalp. Her voice cracking a little from sadness, she began to speak again, "It's nice to meet the acquaintance of a young prince, and another fine young man of such. I will happily guide you around the city of the Yume." Attempting to disguise her sadness, and forced a smile.

Geir's mouth twisted into the hint of a smirk at the girl's reaction to his short comment. His attention was quickly diverted back to the newcomer, however, when he introduced himself and confirmed Geir's suspicions. Well, there it is. Crap, do I bow? How am I supposed to react around royalty? Ah, this is so inconvenient, he thought, frowning once more and idly scratching at his beard. His gold eyes analyzed the prince, then glanced back to their guide. Finally deciding on a quick bow that was respectfully deeper than the prince's own, Geir greeted the prince, "Interesting to meet you out here, your highness. I am Geir Brandr Ignatius, at your service." Straightening up, the man turned and began to follow the girl who had agreed to lead them to the Yume city. "Fern, eh? I prefer Shorty," he said simply, hoping to change the subject from the current royalty.

((added a pronunciation guide for Geir's name, in case anyone was wondering how to say it :P ))

Ivy sharply turned and nudged Greir on his chest with her elbow with a sly smile, her mood changing. "How about you? Greir The giant? I think that suits you considerably, don't you think?" She smiled and began to manoeuvre around all the trees and such until she was out of sight. After a few moments of escaping the maze of the forest, she began to see the faded light of lanterns in the distance. An intrigued yet excited smile blew up on her face almost instantly as the blurred silhouettes of grey stone buildings became more clear within her sight line. Her kingdom, her town.

Gripping her claws along the tree, she quickly looked behind to make sure the two were following before leaping onto the pathway ahead of her, ignoring any bows or curtsies she received from any people of the Yume who were staying out late. She did her best to ignore these people.

Anguis was surprised the Yume was so respectful he half feared she will try to attack him once she knew who he was. Then he cringed as both addressed him as "prince" he always felt awkward as people called him that "Nice to meet you both, just call me Anguis or Ang is fine." He told his new companions for the road as he to started to follow the young Yume, he did notice though that while the Yume was respectful she wasn't too happy seeing him noting the fake smile she have put on her face.

As they walked into the city, he noticed people were bowing to their guide. "Was she also royal? that would explain both her manners and the fake smile she had put" Anguis thought to himself, he felt kinda bad for her if she was the sister of the kidnapped prince, for all she knows she is inches away from one of the people who are responsible to kidnapping her brother and she is forced to show him around. "Are you a noble as well shorty?" Anguis said not noticing he stole the nickname Geir gave her.

"Geir the giant...I rather like the sound of that, sounds intimidating, right Anguis?" Geir replied with a smirk, feeling a little strange calling the prince by name instead of 'your highness'. He let out a small, sharp laugh as Anguis called the girl shorty as well. Still, the prince's observation worried him. The people were bowing to the girl, after all. A lowly wanderer and two nobles, eh? I should probably take my leave before anyone gets the wrong idea, he thought, feeling a bit uncomfortable around the two now.

Kokoro paced the courtyard, chewing on her bottom lip with worry. "Where are you, Ivy?" she wondered, gripping her staff a little tighter. Finally, a guard brought word to her that the young princess was spotted heading into the city, accompanied by two strange men who were definitely not Yume. Without waiting for further information, Kokoro gripped her staff and called forth her wind powers to boost her speed, running towards the city boarder where they were reportedly spotted. She blew past the city folk, the wind rustling the trees around her as her feet glanced off the ground with each stride, until she finally came close enough to spot her younger sister. And she's not even properly dressed! she thought to herself with a scowl. The woman slowed down, the strong wind that announced her presence fading away. Standing straight like a proper lady, but keeping her stance loose enough for a quick reaction, Kokoro took a few steps towards the trio. "And just what do you think you're doing?" Kokoro stated harshly, directing her question towards her sister. Her expression was neutral and firm, but anyone who knew her well enough would be able to tell that she was both angry and relieved.

Ivy laughed along with Greir and Anguis, prepared to lie at his question before her sister arrived and she flinched, staring at her sister warmly. Staying deathly silent, she allowed a quiet whimper to escape her lips. If her sister dared to tell their parents, she would be deeply scolded and maybe even punished. With a slight scowl, she let her arms lay limply at her sides and her bright violet eyes opened in worry. "Kokoro, please don't tell mama or father. Please." She begged, looking up at her all powerful sister. Her powers were much more powerful than her own.

Looking at her new companions, she stifled a sigh, her head turned to look at them. Trying to change the topic from herself and to the others. "This is Greir and Anguis; Anguis wants to speak to Yume royalty." Her eyes were glued to her sister at this point with tense caution. What if she treated her like a child? She was old enough to be classed as an adult, she couldn't possibly be embarrassed, right?....Scowling at her thoughts, she allowed her genuine pout to crawl back into her plump lips.

Sensing the change in the air as the girl's sister approached the group, Geir stood silent, watching the interaction between the girl who had introduced herself as Fern and the woman who had arrived. Perhaps now was the best time to leave. After all, he had come to the city to look for work, he didn't intend on getting into any trouble. That would be inconvenient, after all. The man took a small step backwards, eyes sweeping across the city to see if he could see anywhere that looked promising to find work at. "Thanks for the guide, Shorty, but I think I'll just be on my way. Gotta find work before I starve," he stated, taking a few more steps backward.

Kokoro twitched slightly at one of the men's informal nick name towards her sister, but she took in a deep breath, calming herself. She wanted to yell at her sister for worrying her, but that would have to wait. It wouldn't be good for the royal image to have a princess be scolded in public, anyway. "You better be home before father wakes up. No need to worry him further," she finally relented to her sister, then turned her eyes towards Anguis. "It is still early for the Yume people. It is not likely that the king will see anyone this early without good cause," she warned, wary of the men who accompanied her sister.

"Yes, Kokoro." She mumbled as she sighed. Turning to the two, she then added, "My name is Ivy," before she shrugged and reluctantly began to walk home. Pausing momentarily, she looked to the two men in front of her, a smile glowing in her face, it was evident, even in the darkening sky. "Hey, we have many spare rooms, do you wish to stay in any of them?" Ivy had asked without a second thought, ignoring whatever he sister would say about the matter next. "I'm sure it's no problem. It's not often we receive guests." She added, her grin softening.

(Short reply, sorry, I'm doing homework.)

Anguis thought that his suspicious were confirmed but he wasn't sure yet. "Well I am the heir prince of the dragons, I am here to discuses the recent kidnapping, would that be good enough cause?" Anguis asked with a small smile, the subject was sensitive and he tried to make it a bit less serious though he probably failed at it horribly. "To be honest I would prefer to finish my business and be on my way as soon as possible, I doubt you really wish me to stay considering... every thing that happened." Anguis said he wasn't sure any more if Ivy was just being polite because her parents taught her to be like that just like his parents tried to teach him or if she just was really kind. Anguis leaned back on his scythe waiting until someone will show him the way to the castle so he can be done with his business and get out of here before any one tries to kill him for "kidnapping the prince".

Kokoro was about to protest her sister's invitation, when the prince introduced himself. The woman paused, trying to remain calm and to keep her expression neutral, though her fist clenched in anger and her other hand gripped her staff a bit tighter. Dragons. Of course. Here to make demands for ransom, perhaps? she thought bitterly, though she managed to make her face stay neutral. She couldn't go around throwing out accusations, not just yet, anyway. Forcing herself to remember her etiquette, Kokoro managed a very small curtsy towards the prince before introducing herself. "I am Kokoro Shuzuki, first princess of the Yume. Welcome, heir prince of dragons." Turning, Kokoro motioned to some guards who were just catching up to her from when she had hurried to find her sister. "Guards, escort these men to the castle," she ordered, her words softer when speaking to the guards than they were when addressing the dragon visitors, "They seek a royal audience with the king." Kokoro gave one last glance at her sister, one that would let Ivy know how much trouble she would be in, but looked rather innocuous to anyone else, then began walking towards the castle as the guards moved to escort the dragons behind her.

Geir frowned a bit as he realized that he was starting to get tangled up in some sort of political talks. As nice as a free room for the night would be, this was not something he wanted to be lumped together in. Any thoughts of accepting Ivy's offer were thrown out of his head as the older woman introduced herself as a princess. And if she was a princess, and Ivy's sister, then that meant that Ivy must be a princess as well. Great, not just nobility, full blown royalty. I'm out of my league here, I should leave, he decided, opening his mouth to decline the offer. "I appreciate the offer, Short--er, princess, but I should really get going," he started, turning to walk away. Instead, his path was blocked by the guards who were instructed to lead them to the castle. "Wait, I'm not with them, I was just traveling, and...you're not listening," Geir sighed. Apparently, he was going to have to go to the castle. "How inconvenient," he muttered under his breath, sighing and running a hand through his blue hair.

Ivy saw the look her sister gave her and then shot a look at Geir, who wasn't being allowed to leave. She grinned at this, until he called her 'princess' and she scowled. "I don't like to be called that. You may call me 'shorty' just like you have been doing previously. If you please." After seeing her sister stare at her, she knew she was in deep trouble and she gulped, swallowing a non-existent lump in her throat. Pausing, she waited until Geir was walking near her, and she glued herself to his side, her gaze falling once her sister was in front of her. Grinning smugly, she looked up at Greig and began to whisper up to him. "I'm sorry that you can't leave. I wish I could order them to stop, but my sister is the eldest here, so she acquired the most respect and responsibilities. Being the youngest sibling sucks, especially when you aren't even that young." And her childish pout was back again, making her seem a lot younger than she actually was.

Then she realised what her sister had said. He was a dragon! This intrigued her, the dragon folk always had. In fact, they were her favourite species upon the blasted planet. She hoped she could befriend Greig, but she doubted it due to the reaction he had when he had discovered her to be Royal. That hurt her a little, and was the main reason she hadn't told neither Anguis or Greig she was a princess. It made others intimidated and they acted differently. A bad kind of differently.

With a soft yet sharp movement, her tail lifted and curled around Greig's arm gently and securely. As long as she was under the presence of others, her sister wouldn't say anything; with the new man around her currently, she wouldn't leave his side unless it was extremely necessary, that way she wouldn't be in trouble at all.

Anguis followed the guards sighting, he hated the fact his parents forced him to do this. A simple letter could have been enough, though what could they write? "we didn't take your sons, with love the dragons." Yea that probably wouldn't work all too well, then again what would he say to the king? "We didn't take your son... Can I leave now please?" that idea seemed worse to Anguis but his parents liked it better than the letter for some reason. Anguis sighed again, he over heard Ivy's conversation with Geir which made him laugh a bit, looks like he wasn't the only royal who didn't like his position too much. But Ivy's sister Kokoro worried him, unlike Ivy who Anguis thought was kind and didn't seem to hate him too much for being the dragon prince even though they thought the dragons took her brother, Kokoro did a very bad job at hiding her hate towards him, he feared she might be leading him to the dungeon instead of a meeting with the king. "We didn't do it." Anguis said casually to Kokoro without looking at her.

"I'm pretty sure your sister will bite my head off if I call you anything so informal," Geir quietly replied to Ivy's request, frowning. Still, he wouldn't mind continuing to call her by the nick name, it would definitely make him feel more comfortable, anyway. He glanced over at the girl walking next to him, eyes looking her over as if re-evaluating her now that he knew more about her. Despite her claims about not being all that young, the girl certainly looked young when she was pouting. "Not that young, eh?" Geir stated as he felt the girl's tail wrap around his arm. "How old are you, anyway, Shorty? Twelve?" He teased, knowing full well that the girl was older than that, but hoping the jab would get a rise out of her. After all, he had to make the most of the situation somehow. ((Geir can be a bit of a jerk with his teasing xP ))

"It is not me you have to convince, prince of dragons," Kokoro responded, glancing back at the man and trying to ignore the conversation her sister was having with the other dragon. How she could be so cheerful around the people who more than likely kidnapped their brother was something that Kokoro couldn't understand. Normally, Kokoro would be trying to give these strangers the benefit of the doubt, and even now a voice was nagging in her head. Maybe he's telling the truth, maybe they're innocent. Still, this voice was faint in the face of the anger she felt, almost as if she needed someone to blame for the fact that she couldn't protect her own family. She put the thought out of her head as they approached the Yume castle. By now, the sky had turned dark, and it was likely that her father would be waking soon. "Ivy, perhaps you should change into something more...presentable, before father sees you," she suggested quietly, though she doubted her sister would follow her suggestion. "As for you, dragon prince, please wait here until you are called into the audience chamber," she instructed, seeming to be a little more calm than she had been previously.

((Sooo, no one's playing the Yume King yet, so I don't know how this scene should play out ^^''))
