. :x :. ~ In Your Dreams ~ . :x :. (Sunasa X Ashen Ashes of Eve) - When a girl falls into a coma, a boy follows into her dreams to get her back.

A roleplay loosely based off of games like Yumme- Nikki and Ib.
Dawn Souen was a normal girl. A 18 year old book shop clerk and a musician. Until she was thrust into a sudden coma. No one knew as to how it happened or what the cause of it was, but she was in a deep, dark slumber. Her friends and family would go to the hospital almost every day to see her. Until, eventually her family stopped coming. Only one friend kept his faith. His name was Akihiko...

@Ashen Ashes of Eve @Sunasa

Reality...? what was that ....?

...Life....?.. what was that?

What did you exactly mean... to live and be happy...? was it meant to make me feel better?... or keep guessing...?

.....What was the use anymore when things go in circles... and you can't help but to go in circles...? a never ending cycle....

You'll be happy one day... then sad one day.... you'll be extremely alive and happy one day...........but then everything crashes down..

When you know how life is to be lived........how your life would be.... how miserable it would be... why should you go on.. and continue?

What was the use?

... Come on.... please tell me.... please tell me why do you all... wish to live on despite everything in your lives?...

...Why do you continue to smile... when you can't even be fully happy in the end?..

Was there a point to everything at all?.. What was there to lose when you have nothing at all?...

Please.. give me an answer..... Why must I still keep searching?

I need to know... hurry..

hurry... hurry...

Before..... I become only a mere dream..... that stayed in a beautiful nightmare.....

...Please...

Please save me...........

.......Aki.....

It had been around June, the tragedy had happened. Dawn Souen, age 18 was a girl who lived far from her family with her friend to study abroad in Japan. Having to be a fan of mangas there and other historical books, she opted to be there with him, hoping to renew her life.

Outside, she was an energetic, loving girl who was so caring at everything, positive, optimistic.

But .. little did anyone know... those were all lies.

What her family hid were skeletons in the closet ... secrets yet to be revealed.....

She went mad... as so they said.. and something terrible happened.......

Dawn was said to have fallen off her balcony during a rainy day in attempt suicide, no one knew about the cause but she left a very confusing note that seemed to just be filled with questions. The neighbors, who have seen her jumped out from their window, were quick enough to bring her to the hospital. She was bleeding everywhere and was to be expected and thought to be dead after falling from the 3rd floor of her apartment building. But no, it seemed like she kept alive in the Yobanashi Hospital down at Tokyo. There, at the ICU, she was under comatose. And have been under comatose for a month already. The doctors didn't know what to do, her body was faltering one moment, the next it was alright, on and off, like she was hesitating to come back again and again....

She didn't know.. she couldn't decide.

And for some reason that might be the only way for her to keep on living, to hesitate.

To cling onto something.. but what was there to cling onto now?

Where should she go?

Neurologists studied her brain waves, she was in the state of dreaming. Deep slumber to where her mind was now most active yet shuts down any motor movement and senses... all they had to do was wait...

Little did they know.. in her dream.. she was running for her life.. down the hallway of an endless realm of black and white, colours, paintings that moved here and there. She was running and running, with her violet glowing rose at her chest like it was growing or attached to her heart. She was wearing a simple white long dress, her hair was longer in her dream.. and she was panting heavily as she kept on running down the hallways.. the doors opening and closing opening and closing..

A mirage of colours, a collage of memories and pictures, an orchestra of sounds..

She turned around slowly as her hair swayed, swearing she heard someone call out to her but then black hands grabbed her from behind, her neck, her torso, arms, eyes , nose.. multiple hands grabbed her from behind as she reached out to reach out to something unseen.. tears falling from her eyes as she screamed in her dream...

A scream gone unheard...

And trapped within the dream....

"..Aki.."

Dead...

Gone....

wait.

The sunlight shone straight from the window onto his face. A small glass vase in his hands, he grabbed a yellow-green sponge and started to wash the vase off with some dish cleaner. Spotless. He thought. Next he grabbed a dish towel and wiped off the excess water. The trees outside had shifted in the wind a bit to show more sunlight. This time, hitting the vase directly and sending rays of sunlight throughout the kitchen. Akihiko filled the vase halfway with water, then moving it over to the nearest counter. There he put the small yellow daises inside of the vase. They sat in the water, almost seeming delighted.

She'll love these.

"You going to the hospital?" A voice had resounded behind Akihiko shocking him a bit and sending him to the other side of the counter. "If you do, take an umbrella, it's pouring."

"I'm gonna have to walk, I'm gonna take this to Dawn."

Akihiko showed the vase to his father almost proudly. It was hard enough as it is seeing his son falling in love with a girl who hasn't been awake in a month. His father then sighed. He knew Akihiko well and knew especially that he would go to the ends of the earth for this girl.

"Son, we need to talk"

"If I don't hurry, i'll miss the train, dad."

"ok ok. I'll see you later."

"sorry dad, see you later."

With that, Akihiko was out the door. And before he knew it he was on the train to Yobanashi Hospital. He got a few looks from others as he held the vase in his hands. Akihiko ignored them. Instead he focused on the rain outside. He was obsessed with rain, always wanting to move somewhere it rained all the time. He found pure solace in it. Eventually, the train stopped and Akihiko got off. Then walking two blocks, made his way to the entrance of the hospital. In the elevator He saw a woman who kept groaning in pain in a wheelchair while a woman, (supposedly her daughter) held the wheelchair. All Akihiko could think about was Dawn. At least she wasn't in pain.

He had made it to her room after about a 15 minute trip. Setting the vase down on the table beside her, he walked over to the window and opened the blinds to show the rain. "I hope you like the daisies. They were 1500 yen if you were wondering." Akihiko let out a short laugh. "Did you ever like the rain?"

No answer.

He then sat beside her in the chair provided then grabbed her hand. He watched her hair fall over the bed after how long it had grown. It was gorgeous. Akihiko thought of what she would say about her hair after she woke up then laughed a bit. He sat back, watching the rain and on occasion he would look down at her to see if she'd wake up. He sometimes though if he believed hard enough, or prayed hard enough, or cried hard enough, that she would wake up...But she never did. So the thunder began. The thunder raged and roared as the rain started to grow harder and harder. Growing tired, Akihiko laid back in his chair while holding her hand. Then he closed his eyes. It wasn't but 5 minutes until Akihiko drifted off into sleep.

______________________________________________

The next part was strange. Akihiko didn't remember stumbling where he came. but it was all like a lucid dream. He thought he was supposed to be here. But it also felt like where he was, he didn't belong. It was a conflicting area. And he felt conflicted every time he would take a step. It was black. all black. There was no color at all. So Akihiko kept walking until he saw something in the distance. A door.

When he reached the door, it instantly coaxed him to open it. With it's victorian age woodworking and brass doorknob, it called out to him. Like a call for help. Until eventually, he opened it. He was thrust inside as if some one had pulled him hard into it. He was here. And then eventually he realized how strange it really was. It was still black but there were eyes. Everywhere. Some floated, while some, the size of basketballs, sat bloody on the floor, watching Akihiko as he stepped through the foreign world. The door behind him had disappeared and he lost most of his hope.

He knew he was dreaming though so he was in no danger, all that seemed threatening were that the eyeballs seemed alive. It did creep him out that the whole world was eerily quiet. There was no sound at all. But something else drew to him. Something that felt in pain.

((sorry for such a long post. Had to get it started. They will be a bit shorter as the rp goes on. Just trying to start it off))

Odd.. it was too odd....

But it has been going around for eternity, nothing was the same at all...... doors, here, there, on the floor, above you, south, north, west, east...

The doors were everywhere, each of them, having a different design, odd features. Sometimes, hands as doorknobs, feet, some of them bled through and through. Some had windows, some had blood stained windows...

The surroundings, supposedly to be called walls, were nothing but black, eyes closed and mouths opened, only to be closed again for eyes to open, some random butterflies would just dance, flying up till they were odd colourful dots up there.

Just when things didn't get anymore odd. There was a loud sound of fo-no...

They were the sounds of rampant footsteps and heavy breathing, it was almost eerie to hear that so closely as if the doer of the action was just beside you. Heck, you can even hear your own breathing something and your heart beat in that place.

But all those thoughts would be cut off, just when a figure was running passed him not so far from where he was, it was a girl with long hair and a dress, running from something that was perhaps too dark or too far to see.

It seemed right though. With all the oddness, it seemed as if this place was somewhat familiar. Was there anyone else here? And if there were, are they even going to help? Akihiko touched one of the eyeballs. It turned green instantly. Strange. He then remembered where he was in real life and instantly thought of Dawn. Wandering the halls a bit faster, he wanted to find her. That's all he wished. Was to find her again. He missed her and wasn't going to lose her again so he wandered. Eventually finding exactly what he didn't want to find. A severed head. He jumped back and looked wide eyed at the object. Remember. You're dreaming.

He looked at it closely, then it turned on it's side and looked back at him, opening it's mouth and making a strange mechanical noise. Afraid it would jolt him awake, he kicked it across the hall like a soccerball, sending it further until reaching a strange door. Great. Another door.

When he opened it, the scenery changed. Less gory, it opened to a white area. With block dots all across the floor. He could see in the close distance what seemed like a man on a computer. He seemed to have no mouth and a completely white face. His eyes hung to one side but when Akihiko neared closer, they turned down to notice him then went back to work.

"Excuse me, I'm looking for some one. A girl. With black hair, about this tall" He raised his hand up to denote her size.

"Black haired women go to the black kingdom. Not allowed here."

"The black kingdom? I don't understand"

The man grew angry. Smashing the keyboard on the computer in front of him. It didn't seem to even be on, as the man endlessly typed his fingers onto it. The computer broke in certain places but the man continued to type.

"Go away"

"Wait, please. I need to know. I'm looking for thi-"

"I said GO AWAY!"

And with that, the man threw the computer down and fell through the floor, as if it were some sort of deep puddle. Akihiko ran over and slammed his foot down onto the area where the man had disappeared. The area just became floor again.

"You don't want to do that dearie, you'll hurt yourself. Come"

There was a woman. All dressed in white. She looked very old. Or what was visible, she looked old. She looked as if her face were melting off, with dripping bits falling to the floor. It wasn't gory though, it was as if that was natural to her form. Akihiko obeyed though, following the woman into where she was leading him. At first the came upon a white and black door. It led to a very open room that opened up to a grand view. The woman turned to him after she had closed the door. " You're not supposed to be here."

"What do you mean? This is my dream."

"But it's not. It is the princess' dream. The princess of the black kingdom. You've been here for years, you just didn't know it."

"I'm really confused. I'm just looking for my...well..my friend... Dawn"

"I do not know a dawn, dearie. I'm sorry. Would you like some tea?"

"Yes...Thank you."

Akihiko didn't want to be disrespectful to his elders so he looked about to his surroundings. It seemed like a normal room, with a grand view that he could see over a balcony. There was a few chairs that surrounded a normal looking coffee table with a strange looking mechanical cat. Akihiko wandered over to the Balcony to see what was there. It was like a city, but it was quite strange. The buildings looked like they were thousands of miles long. He could not even see the roads and ground of the city. Giant beings started to float out of the cities canals.

"This is the white kingdom"

The woman came from behind Akihiko and shocked him to the core.

"what did you do there? With your body."

"i'm sorry?"

"you jumped there, when I talked to you just now."

"I was frightened by you. You scared me."

"Fear only exists in the black kingdom, boy. You know of fear, yet you created this white kingdom?"

"I created? All of this?"

"Yes... You see, when you arrived here, the white kingdom erupted from your heart out of love and compassion. It created the light side of this world. but it intermingled with the dark side also. The dark side was the original form. It was created out of darkness and pain from a girl."

"A girl? What was her name?"

"I do not know. We just call her the princess of the black kingdom. We fear that she may come here one day and destroy our kingdom."

"I thought you said fear doesn't exist here?"

"fear only exists when you mention who she is."

Akihiko grabbed the railing but then the woman motioned for him to join her at the table for tea. So they did, they both wandered over to the coffee table and had tea. Then the woman got up and played a record. Strange clicking sounds only resulted from it, but the old woman sang along with the clicks and started to sway a bit with her finger in the air. Akihiko just laughed. But he stopped laughing as the old woman grabbed his hand and forced him to dance with her. All he could do was smile... Where was he? This sure was an interesting dream.

Akihiko spun the old woman and she sat back down in her chair. He then reached for the cat to pet it, and then the cat turned to a goop. Sliding down the chair. He gasped.

"I'm so sorry."

"Nothing to worry, He was getting old anyway. I'll grow another one later."

Grow?

"I hate to get all technical...but, what happens when I wake up? Does this kingdom stay here?"

"So you are interested now. Were you not before?"

"Really, I'm just trying to understand it all. I'm confused. Slightly scared."

"I haven't told you everything yet. But you seem to understand the basic concept."

"Yea, like the kingdoms of white and black, I got that"

The woman started to fade in and out of reality as she was speaking to him.

"wha...What's going on? Are you ok?"

The woman started to make mechanical sounds that sounded like glitches or typing. Eventually her whole face started to melt with her body, and she became apart of the chair she was sitting in.

great. Now what am I gonna do.

Akihiko walked over to the balcony and looked over out to the city. He saw what looked like a tower. Large and menacing. Sort of like a spiraling castle. Maybe that's where he would be able to find his answers. As he headed for the door a sudden ticking came into his head. Like a TICK...TOCK

Akihiko grabbed his head. It was actually causing him pain. But it was a dream! Things like this couldn't happen in dreams could they?

He pushed open the door and then slammed it behind him, shutting out the ticking

What the hell was that?

Akihiko walked out back into the white room, looking over to his right to note a new opening. It was like a gate in the wall that opened up into the city that he saw from the balcony. Maybe it was safe to go through. So he did.

The city looked seemingly normal from what he saw. Aside from it being a dream, akihiko could sense everything around him. The smells, the sounds. Everything felt so real. but was it really? There were other citizens. Or what looked like citizens. Some of them were indescribably confusing. Some looked grotesque. While others looked like knights. It was quite strange. As Akihiko walked through them, each of the citizens seem to notice him. Like
he was the different one.

This place really is strange.

And admist the crowds and sea of people there was one figure, who looked incredibly normal. "Stay away from me!" she yelled at someone, her voice echoed loud and clear, the sound of a french and English woman, her hair, and the scent of roses and other floral perfumes were always her favorite. For she loves all sorts of flowers, she wasn't far from the crowd, she was infront of the tower, yelling at someone at the crowd. Her hair was long, but something was odd. She was grey scale, she had no colour, just monochrome, like she came from a black and white old classical film. She was frightened though, her eyes were the only coloured ones. Violet with the glassy blues of sapphires, she was scared.

But of what?
".. I don't want to go back..! I already said so!" she was now arguing with the figure...

All you could hear right now.. is the rising sound... of ticking..
