Timo ate of his small clutch of raspberries as he plucked them free from the plant, leaving the bushes with about ten of the delectable things, and glanced up a bit, unsure of what he should do. He was considerably earlier than before, so perhaps he was not expected at this time. Should he wait? That ran the risk of him eating even more berries from this patch. He was not very good with the temptation of food placed in front of him, especially sweets like berries. Perhaps the better thing to do was to wait close by, perhaps outside of her home. You know, to surprise her a bit, especially if she was so earnest about wanting to be friends and to see each other again.

Concluding all of this in his head, and neverminding the thought that maybe this was not a good idea, he set forth, catching sight of the tree that he passed in front of twice before and aiming for a third time. The trip was slightly less tricky than expected --perhaps he had a better memory than he thought -- and when he came up to the sounds of falling water and trickling stream he realised that he was close.

Peeking his head out from the undergrowth, he scouted for the woodland creatures, worried that they might attack him with kindness the moment he stepped out. The path, at the very least, seemed clear, and he would hopefully not be besieged by sweetness. Confident now, he stepped forward and out of the brush.

He was further downstream than before, so there was a little more walking to do to at least make it to her waterfall home, but when he was close enough--

Oh. She was--oh. Turning a shade redder, he hoped to back up enough to seep back into the belly of the woods and heard the uncomfortable but ever reliable in dire situations crack of a branch. He just hoped that she would not notice.

((Not done! Craziness ensued and I sent this early.))

Becoming so very relaxed, she could've fallen asleep in the water. The birds were all singing, making her give a closed-eye smile. Lightly splashing some water onto her long hair, and rubbing it through her fur. About finished and to get out, she heard a crack. Who or what was nearby?

She turned over her shoulder, spotting her new friend from the previous day. Her ears flung upwards, seeing his face reddened. She blinked in disbelief, she had thought he wouldn't have been here so early. "Er... good morning, Timo..." her voice was low and embarrassed. The tips of her ears and cheeks became a deep shade of pink. She looked awkwardly and sheepishly at him. A crooked smile crossed her face and rubbed the back of her neck.

"I didn't think you'd be here so soon..." her voice was shy and low. She was shouldering high in the water, she had backed up to hide. She had to admit, this felt uncomfortable. Her eyes were still wide and bright. The sun was beaming on her, making her look pretty, as always. But she was extremely shy at this point. She couldn't seem to remove her eyes off of him.

Timo was perplexed as to how she could smile at a time like this. Here he was, accidentally stepping in when she was washing herself seemingly without smallclothes -- he later chastised himself a little thinking that when living alone who would keep smallclothes on while taking a bath? -- and she was grinning at him. Perhaps it was a nervous grin? He averted and covered his eyes in her direction in shame, not really catching the rouge of her cheeks or ears. Later when she spoke again he dared a peek again, and found that she hid herself from view just enough to not worry as badly of seeing anything . . . never mind. Phew. That was good, but then again Kaitlyn, lovely in appearance as before, was still looking at him.

"I admit, it took a bit quicker to get here than I thought," he replied bashfully, wishing he was elsewhere. "I, ah, I will come back later when you are done if that is all right."

(I’m kind of busy. I have to work for at least 5 hours. I’ll do my response when I get home or on break)

She wasn't all sure why her eyes were so stuck on him. Maybe it was because she was embarrassed? She wasn't all too sure. But all she knew was that she was naked in the waterfall's water. She then looked at the edge and saw her clothes folded neatly. Her heart thumped and wriggled nervously. She needed those clothes. But if she were to swim over there, he would see. The water was much shallower there.

"I'm sorry you had to come to me like this," she spoke roughly swallowing, nervousness in her tone. Her face began burning and she let out a quiet squeal. The sounds began to gather up some animals' attention. She lightly splashed some of the cool water on her cheeks, attempting to cool them. Which failed. She huffed her cheeks, flustered. "I was about to get out anyway..." she eyed her clothes again, hoping he'd get the hint to look away.

Timoteo with certainty took the hint as he not only glanced away, but turned around outright.

"No worries at all!" he exclaimed with few notes of a high-pitched laugh that potentially revealed his nervousness. "I, uh, will be right down there behind the bend of the stream. I have to wash my hand anyways. Please take your time and think nothing of my being here."

He set his walking stick down and headed off a short ways, and as he trotted downhill hurriedly and without very good footwork, he underwent a bit of self-flagellation. Why, why, why? Why did I come here so early? Was it because I was so eager to see her again and I said tomorrow, not really saying when? Oh, this is so horrible, such a horrible feeling. I messed up big time. Good job, me. You had a friend and lost her within a day.

At the very least, the tranquil sounds of the flowing water nearby helped soothe the ravages of his mind. Water was one of the most relaxing elements for him, which was strange because he also had a love for fire, its natural opposite among the classical elements. The soft burbles of the water made a lovely symphony as he rolled up his sleeve and washed the charcoal free from his hand. Below the dancing surface were a number of very small minnows that both darted away from the scary hand and attempted to stay in position, bobbing only to recover lost ground from the flow.

"Dang..." she muttered to where only she could hear. She inhaled and exhaled as she watched him leave the view. She swam over to her clothes and grabbed her clothes. She went into her home and sighed heavily. As she got ready, she felt her face not feeling as red. Timoteo probably wouldn't even look at her the same again... She was going, to be honest, the clothes were awfully small for her, she only found a young girl's clothes from her family. She was getting older and bigger. One of the sleeves ripped and she groaned with irritation.

She decided to just ignore it, she walked out with her hair dried. She walked around until she saw him, shaking her head, trying to forget what had happened. Everyone makes mistakes, which was how she thought it. She didn't want to lose her only friend, aside from the animals. "Hey," she said walking over to him and leaned against a nearby tree. "Don't let what happened earlier bother you. Everyone makes mistakes, Timo," she said, her cheeks still a little pink.

Timoteo bobbed his head upwardsupon hearing Kaitlyn's voice and turned, espying that she had made it behind him without much noise at all. Like her, his cheeks burned, but perhaps a little more. His eyes darted leftward and elsewhere.

I suppose you're right," he agreed with a huff of a sigh, pulling himself upright. "It is just -- I don't know -- embarrassing, I suppose, to realise that the sun is not quite as high as I thought, and to interrupt your bath." He made a face and pursed his lips before making a popping sound a long second later. "Well, if you forgive me, I would be more than happy to drop it. I just am sorry that things turned out as they did.

"So, ah, do you have any chores to do?" he asked while scratching his earlobe. "Perhaps I can make it up to you by helping out."

((What kind of monster am I? Oh yeah, it comes with the title of an evil overlord.))

Kaitlyn Williams

Kaitlyn cocked a brow at him, "why would I make a friend do chores for me?" There was a little chuckle in her tone, as she did a closed eye laugh. "But there is one thing you could do for me. I have something else to do, I have to make myself some new clothes. You can see if you can find some fruits around here. This forest is somehow native to carry many types of fruits," she sounded wise as she spoke. She did have a basket in her hands and she handed it to him, "off you go."

She simply turned away, "return when you finish." As she walked away, her ears flopped down and her head hung low. She seemed, sad..? She arrived at her home and gathered up some things and began making herself some clothes. A small fawn went walking over to Timoteo and was moving its little tail. It went walking into the forest, maybe wanting to help out.

Timoteo looked at her chiefly in curiosity. He was shocked at himself that he did not realise that Kaitlyn's clothes were certainly a bit . . . shorter than the usual cut that the village tailor gave and wondered if the situation from before made her feel a bit conscientious about her apparel. And then his mind was filled with a mission to collect fruits, and his hands filled with a basket handle. Fruits? What kind? Where? In what direction? Well, he certainly came from a certain direction and found some fruits there, but from what it sounded like there were others out there, waiting to be plucked. Besides the endemic raspberries that were near the village's, there were also blueberries. There were also an abundance of birdberries. Did Kaitlyn like birdberries? They did not sit well with humans. Was she human? Bah, there was that question again. It would probably be better to get her some things that he himself could eat, just in case.

Kaitlyn ventured back to the waterfall home, seemingly lost in thought, and he decided to not ask her for advice as to where to go. He would wander aimlessly in a growing circle, maybe, or rummage in a general direction and then come back. Fear of running into that one bear from before or any other bear made him consider bringing his walking stick just in case, but that would make moving around difficult with a shillelagh and a handbasket.

The deer caught his eye, the little fawn approaching and wobbling its cute tail about before plunging slowly into the undergrush. Was it trying to lead him somewhere or return to its mother? Curious, confused, even worried -- he decided to follow it to see where it was heading.

The fawn was walking and stopped a couple of times, looking around. It obviously knew where it was going. The fawn then pushed its way over to a row of bushes and pushed through it. The fawn made a sound for him to follow and was surrounded by many fruit bushes, trees, and vines. It was extraordinary. Someone had made a huge fruit garden guarded by bushes. No one ever had suspected it.

It looked healthy and many birds were perched on branches and were singing. The fawn walked around inside. It was endless choices of fruits.

((All good! There is no rush on my end, so please feel free to go at your own pacing. I just am rather quick to respond some of the time. If you will likely post later than a week from the last time it is updated, though, let me know beforehand, s'il vous plait.))

Timoteo had to admit that it felt rather weird following a baby deer around the forestscape. The little thing seemed to come across a large wall of what looked like mounded bushes stretching tall and long, and when he thought it would continue around it pushed its little head through, then its legs, and lastly the tail! Moreover it let out some sort of noise. Was it telling him to follow?

Deer are creatures of habit, or so he was told. Truth be told, he never partook in a hunting expedition, and after seeing the little speckle-backed fawn he likely never will. He dared to follow the little thing through where it slipped and found himself in what looked like a walled garden but surrounded by hedges! It seemed laden with fruits of many kinds. No wonder she was able to sustain herself throughout the years. She, or someone else, made this enclave of bushes and kept it free from prying eyes. Amazing!

"Thank you, little one," Timo spoke to the deer, stroking its head as softly as he could muster before venturing around. Being a bit of a forager himself, he collected a fine amount of ripe grapes (they tasted a little bit sour, but the sweetness was satisfactory) and berries of every kind he could see and filled the basket up about three-quarters of the way. Honestly, he did not know how much she could eat, Kaitlyn, but, if that mound of fish in the basket earlier was anything to gauge by, this might be breakfast meal for her.

Packing up, he looked around for the deer, and if it were still around would be ready to head back and say so. He was unsure if it could understand him, but an attempt was an attempt.

The little fawn watched him pick around the fruits. It then wandered around patiently for him to be finished. The fawn then began heading out when Timoteo seemed finished, and led him back to Kaitlyn’s home.

Kaitlyn was sitting on a rock outside of the waterfall and was seemingly staring with ease at the water. She sighed, she knew what had happened that morning would affect her and her friend’s relationship, big time! But she had to forget about it...

She also had made herself some new clothes. She wasn’t all too sure how she had come up with the outfit, but it was out of creativity. She knew how spider silk and cotton worked and came up with it.

She then heard some movement behind her, making her spin. She stepped off from the rock and walked over to them. “Looks like, Jerry help you,” she chuckled at the sight of the fawn.

Timo made it out of the forest following his remarkable little friend's lead, the fawn surprisingly helpful throughout today's events! He just had to come up with a name for the little fellow. He wondered if Fawn would be too insensitive, but then again he was never really good at naming things, not even the landscapes he really enjoyed visiting. However, when he came to the waterfall home and witnessed Kaitlyn in her new outfit, he thought about naming this particular scene "Dream of a Waterfall Maiden." She was lovely before, that is for certain, but she was astounding now, and he loved the colours on her, especially the robin's egg blue of the top.

When she spoke up, his mind felt as if it were trapped in a fog, but the words managed to reach him through it all. He managed to tear his eyes away from Kaitlyn and down at his little spotted companion.

"Is Jerry his name? He really did. Thanks to him I was able to find a hedged garden, and a remarkable one at that! I collected a fair amount of fruits, too. I'm not sure which ones you wanted, but I got you a little bit of everything I can find." He showcased the fruit in the basket with a triumphant pat and would hand the basket over to her. "You look lovely in your new clothes, by the way. I--not that you did not before in your old clothes, that is to say, but--well, uh, let's just say that you look great. Yeah."

Again, he sardonically felt that he was off to a great start. He stumbled over his words and felt very much like a fool, but tried to maintain the colour of his face.

She nodded, “yep. Jerry is his name.” She slightly rose her eyebrows at the sight of the fruits and she smiled. “I’m not all that picky. I’ll appreciate anything.” She then listened to him stumble through words to find to describe her new outfit.

Well thank you, Timo,” she lightly blushed again. But as always, she had no clue what it meant. She reached out a took the basket and looked through the assorted fruits. She smiled widely when she found an apple. Apples are her favorite.

The garden was built by my ancestors, a decade ago. I’ve been taking care of it ever since,” she responded with deep blue eyes. “It is awfully hard to take care of it on my own...” her words trailed off, not sure where she was going with the conversation anymore.

Scratching his ear again, Timoteo grinned at the thanks and marveled at her choice. Apples were not exactly his go-to fruit himself, but they did have a satisfying flavour to them and a crunch that is rarely seen by other fruits. It was also then that he managed to catch the deep hue of her azure eyes, a shade that beautifully matched her fur and popped from the colour of her clothes. Timo himself had green eyes, light and lofty as a hummingbird's plumage.

"You say that it was made by your ancestors," he ruminated aloud, cupping his chin in thought. Ancestors? A weird word for what probably was immediate family. What happened to her family? He decided to shelf that for another time. "It would be a shame to let it go wild again. Perhaps, ah, I can help you take care of it when I have the time? I have two free days out of the week. I can drop by and help out every now and again to prune and keep things in shape."

He helped with the apple orchard in the village every now and again and learned a few things about trimming plants to allow the nutrients to flow towards the fruit instead of stagnating new growth. Perhaps he could help ensure that the apples she enjoyed could be bigger and better. Such was not the whole reason, however. Honestly speaking? He really wanted to spend more time with her.

Kaitlyn Williams

Kaitlyn suddenly had the urge to just stare back at his eyes as he spoke. Not seeming to look away. What was on her mind? “It would be much appreciated for some help. And as for availability, I understand how you are available certain days. So I will accept that. I’m in no rush,” she spoke slow and calmly.

Usually when she spoke like that, she was deep in her thoughts. Something was definitely going through her head as one of her eyebrows and ears cocked. Her tail also began swishing slowly in a wagging motion. She still hadn’t removed her eyes off of him. She hadn’t even wondered if she was making him uncomfortable, she just wanted to read his eyes. She did a slow blink every thirty or so seconds. Her long eyelashes fluttered as she did so.

Jerry was looking curiously at her and cocked his head.

The young man was unsure of what to do next and rubbed his arm unconsciously.

"Yeah, I have things to do in the village, not that it matters much to me personally, but it matters a lot to the whole village. One less person working and it could mean problems during winter."

Timo made the mistake of looking into the two pools of beauty that was her eyes and swam around in them for a few seconds before realising that he was staring. Then again, was she not staring as well? Raised around the social mores that staring was considered rude for a longer period of time, he was unsure if he should continue to do so and broke away. That was not to say that she was doing anything wrong, as she seemed to not be raised in such a manner. He hoped not to convey such. The best solution to that? Look again.

"So, uh, winter is a far ways off, but what do you do for the season? Do you eat fish all winter long or do you dry out berries and store food away? It must get very cold."

Kaitlyn Williams

As she continued staring she could only roll throughout her thoughts of many things. Her species would indeed go extinct. There are no more of her kind. She is alone in this world called, Earth.

He then looked away and she responded with a low sigh.In her opinion, looking into someone’s eyes told them about something. To learn from them. To show them your trust. But apparently he didn’t think the same as she did.

His voice shook her out of her thoughts. “I do save food during the winter, yes. But every year changes. Sometimes the water freezes over and I can’t catch any fish. It does get very cold, but my fur thickens, so...” she fell silent.

Something told him that something was wrong, but Timoteo could not tell what. Kaitlyn was quiet for some reason, and maybe it was affiliated with winter. He wondered about something and brought it to voice.

"Say, uh, if you ever are in need of things like food or blankets next winter, my village is west of here, but I'll try to show up every now and again. If you would like, I can show you where I live so you can skirt some of the villagers. Some of them can be . . . unpleasant around outsiders, but you're a friend as of yesterday. I can share with you some of my supplies. Just say the word."

He eyed her fur, wondering how much thicker it gets in the winter. It seemed sleek and elegant, like human skin sometimes was. He wondered how warm it could get, especially nowadays in the full rays of the sun. At the very least it could keep the chill from oneself at night or in the rain.

"So, what do you like to do for fun? Everyone needs a hobby. I am curious if you have any."

Kaitlyn Williams

She simply smirked at his offer. It would be nice to be able to get things if needed by her friend. Even though she liked doing things for herself. She was still silent but she then spoke, “I would like to visit you sometimes also. And I will come if I’m in need of anything.

Her eyes slightly darkened from her thoughts of the word “fun”. “Fun?” She questioned cocked her head a little. Not quite recognizing that word before. “I do have hobbies. But I’ll be honest, I don’t know what fun means that you’ve mentioned. I make clothes and take care of animals.”

"Excellent! If I can help, I would be happy to provide," Timo replied cheerfully, but then paused at her inquiry and blinked his eyes in concern. "Er, fun, yes. Do you go take walks for no reason except for yourself? Do you play games with anyo--any of your animal friends? Do you enjoy anything that may seem like a chore to someone else and . . . hmm. . . ."

He was perplexed as to how to explain this to her because he had the luxury of human interaction while she did not. Would she understand without him showing her?

"I think I have a good way of explaining it. Say that you lose something like . . . well, my walking stick. I lost it and cannot find it. Someone gives me a hint as to where it is because they hid it, and then I search places I think it is in and finally find it! I am happy that I found it, but I liked the process of finding it. Actually, that's it! It is doing things that you like doing. Do you have anything like that?"

His eyes seemed to light up and become animated by the discussion, as if he had fun while discussing the topic of fun.
