Would you like to form a contract?
What would the world have been like if Kaname Madoka and her friends had never existed? What if Kyubey had continued to create magical girls to fight against the growing threat of witches? What kinds of powers would have come into play?
~*Welcome to the Puella Magi Madoka Magica Original Character Roleplay!*~
Okay rules rules rules. Rules are always first. Except in Kyubey's case when they're last. But I'm not Kyubey, so, without further ado:
THE RULES.
- This is an *original character* roleplay. That means two things. First, be original. Second, canon characters (except for Kyubey) will not be roleplayed!
- Kyubey will be an open character, playable by anyone for the purpose of making contracts. However, if you need him to introduce a major plot point, ask me first!
- Only two major characters per person. You can introduce minor characters (a mother, classmate, younger sibling, random bystander) at will, but they can't come into play more than a few times. Most minor characters shouldn't even be named unless absolutely necessary.
- You do NOT have to be a Puella Magi! You can be an ordinary human, a witch, or any other type of creature that would be available in the canon universe (except an Incubator). However, if it didn't appear in canon, you may want to run it by me before you introduce it. If you start as a human, you can always form a contract with Kyubey later and become a Puella Magi. If you start as a Puella Magi, you can always end up as a witch. (Since the term Puella Magi is literally Latin for "Magical Girl", male characters will not be allowed to be
- No godmodding! (Meaning: Don't give yourself godlike [Madoka-like] powers. Also, in fight scenes, don't make yourself invincible/unable to be hit, and don't always allow your hits to land. In a real fight, not every shot you take will be a direct hit, and you'll more than likely sustain a few injuries yourself. Plus, when you're in the middle of a move, your opponent would be able to counterattack. Be sure to leave your posts open to response. For example, no "X kicked Y in the side"; go more along the lines of "X raised xir leg and aimed a kick at Y's side". The two are very similar, but the first implies a direct hit, while the second allows the other roleplayer to decide what should happen. Be realistic here; if you're Y, and you're off-balance on the edge of a cliff with crumbling rocks under your feet, you won't be able to jump ten feet straight up in the air and do a ninja-spinning-dodge-kick. If it would be difficult or impossible to dodge, don't dodge it.)
- No bunnying! (Meaning: Don't control another player's character without their permission. For example, if you're playing Bob and I'm playing Sue, you shouldn't write something like: "Bob took Sue's hand, and Sue smiled and kissed his cheek as they walked off into the sunset." Instead, you could write something like: "Bob held a hand out to Sue and smiled, gesturing out towards the setting sun." This leaves it more open for Sue's roleplayer to respond how (s)he wants.)
- No killing another player's character without their permission! (This only applies to major characters. Unnamed minor characters can be hurt and killed with reckless abandon unless their rolepayer requests otherwise.)
- Don't whine if someone corrects you on something. We're trying to help. (To avoid being corrected, don't make mistakes. If you can do that, then you can whine if we correct you. )
- Be nice to your fellow roleplayers. If you can't, you're not cut out for roleplaying.
- Please try to avoid one-liners if at all possible. Be descriptive. Your character is likely doing *something* of interest, whether it's scratching an itch, tossing/twirling their hair, getting out a piece of gum, thinking about their crush... Describe all that! Your posts will get longer almost effortlessly.
- If you have to leave the roleplay for more than a day or so, please alert us to your absence and make some excuse for your character(s) to leave so that we don't have to work around the void where your character(s) was/were.
- Most importantly: Be creative, be respectful, and have fun!
