King of Prehistory
Ok, here's something slightly different about me, I'm completely obsessed with dinosaurs and prehistoric life, and I was wondering if anyone would like to do a Dinosaur role play, I need ideas for a setting, it will probably take place in a relatively modern setting (mainly so we can have human characters), probably on an island or remote place, I'd also want almost every prehistoric animal to be playable. The purpose of this thread is to find anyone with similar interests or who could give some ideas for this Hypothetical RP.

That's actually quite a good idea. I think I'll probably do that, might limit the amount of playable dinosaurs, (though that shouldn't be a problem since most people only know T.rex) but it would be easier to write a sort of plot, maybe our characters have been accidentally zapped back in time by an experimental time machine?

Okay, now I just need to decide where and when the humans are going to go, I'll put the options below, then do a poll. If you are unsure of some of the dinosaurs, remember: Google is your friend, this site is also very helpful

Prehistoric Wildlife

Gobi desert: Mongolia 75 MYA, has a dry arid climate with sparse trees and a few oasis, animals include: Velociraptor (which is actually the size of a turkey and covered in feathers, Jurassic park lied to you) tarbosaurus (basically T.rex lite) gallimimus, protoceratops Therizinosaurus and oviraptor

Morrison formation: 155 MYA Climate is similar to a Savannah, dinosaurs include, Dryosaurus, allosaurus, diplodocus, brachiosaurus, stegosaurus and Ceratosaurus

Hell creek formation: 67 MYA Sub tropical climate, animals include, Quetzocoatlus, T.rex, triceratops, edmontosaurus, ankylosaurus, acheroraptor (very similar to Velociraptor, small and feathered) Pachycephalosaurus.

Hmm... how would humans be able to survive in that environment? Wasn't the air toxic back then? At least to modern humans.

Oh, by the way, If I could add a couple of dinosaurs:

Gobi Desert (Nemegt Formation): Adasaurus (a dromaeosaurid which was closely related to Deinonychus), Borogovia/Zanabazar (two troodontids, essentially raptor lite), Deinocheirus (giant camel-duck. FEAR THE CAMEL-DUCK), Alioramus (long-snouted little tyrannosaur), Prenocephale (a smaller, less spiky Pachycephalosaurus)

Morrison Formation: Stokesosaurus (small theropod with a raised crest on its snout ( William Lee Stoke's Tyrant )), Ornitholestes (little theropod that doesn't have a crest, contrary to previous belief, and does have a sloghtly downturned jaw), Fruitadens (little bristly ornithopod with small fangs on the upper and lower jaw), Amphicoelias (largest animal ever known, like a Diplodocus, but three times the size), Epanterias/Saurophaganax (both like huge versions of Allosaurus), Torvosaurus (this guy: Torvosaurus WIP )

Hell Creek: Brachychampsa (an alligator sort of fellow), Anzu (basically the chicken-cassowary cross-breed from hell)

I guess we could take a few liberties in terms of the roleplay.

The air did have 14% more oxygen in the Carboniferous period about 300 million years ago, but the oldest possible setting in this is around 150 MYA when the air was pretty much the same as ours (I think), so the humans should be able to breathe normally.

I LOVE dinosaurs, but I'm confused about characters? Are we humans, or are we dinosaurs? Or, are we humans with dinosaur companions, orrr.... what? I'm confused.

Just to clarify, we are humans who have been sent back to the dinosaur age, were and when we go will be decided by which formation wins the poll. We will also be able to play as dinosaurs, however they will have to have lived in our chosen formation e.g you can't be a T.rex if we decide to do the Morrison formation, and you can't be a stegosaurus in Hell creek.

Hey guys, so now I have the CS up, is anyone still interested in playing? Because right now I only have one other RPer and I need around four before I can start it.
