Other Worst Pain You've Ever Felt

So, yesterday I was tased for my certification to use one. The probes hit me in the back and it felt like someone taking a metal baseball bat and swinging it at a machine gun pace over and over again into my back and butt. I'm pretty good with pain, but it was like the worst muscle cramp I've ever gotten times 10 all over my body. I was told by my instructor that my body reacted by trying to pull the probes out when I went down. After it happened I was filled with anger and ready to fight. He told me that was a flight or fight response, so apparently, I get angry when lots of pain hits me, which is good for my line of work.

So, I'm trying to be more active on this site, so good people of RP Nation: What is the worst pain you have ever felt physically and how did you react?

Picture this: You've just been operated. You can't pee though as a side effect from the anesthesia. Because of this, the doctors decide to take matters into their own hand, by getting a tube and shoving it up your penis. Keep in mind the anesthesia has long since been out of effect. Now imagine after they shove the tube up, it turns to be a sort of vaccum.

It may not be much, but it left with me with a bit of a trauma to be honest.

Good lord.

im not religious. ive never been religious. but i think i need jesus after reading what you just wrote.

alrighty, so i think the worst pain ive been in was when i got a tooth pulled when i was like, maybe 11? 12? anyway, im kind of high strung and jumpy on a good day, as i have a bit of a phobia of people and have for as long as i can remember. so, even on a good day, i dont exactly want people shoving their sterilized pliers in my mouth, but i had to have it done because i was a stupid little shit who didnt brush their teeth. i was scared, but pretty prepared.

so, dentists prepare for this, you know? it just so happened that the way this dentist office prepared was laughing gas. thisll do it for most people, but autistic people are an exception. it has the opposite effect- instead of loopy and, you know, compliant, my already high strung ass was cranked up to 100 and then they snapped off the knob. i went from kinda scared to feeling absolute terror. my mother informed them this would happen beforehand, they just didnt fucking believe her

also, i dont think they actually numbed me, because when these dumbasses crammed those glorified pliers in my mouth, it didnt feel like pressure, it was the worst damn pain i can ever remember feeling. as a bit of a funfact, my fight or flight response is fight, so when this happened, i was both screaming and literally fighting to get them away from me. one of them was injured. all the while, they apparently thought "autistic" meant "stupid" and kept lying to me about what they were doing, despite the fact that i could actually fucking see what they were putting in my mouth. them constantly lying only made things worse, tbh.

they had to switch dentists to calm me down. somehow, him just explaining what he was going to do calmed me down enough for him to pull it out without a hitch. after eight years, i know the details on this arent going to be exact, but i do remember the other dentist going away, him coming to me, and him easily pulling my tooth out.

and thats why i have a fear of dentists.

I never like describing a pain as a 10. Most often when I get a terrible pain, I'll rate it at an 8, and that's as high as I'll go.

However, there have been exceptions. We don't know exactly what it is, but our hunch after consulting Dr. Google is that they're ovarian cysts. Absolute worst pain in my life.

One early morning I'd been half-awake in bed, ready to go back to sleep. Well I think I stretched or something, and got this bad pain in my side. Now, random pain during the night is not something uncommon for me - I often wake up with bad pains, and it's usually nothing serious. But this one just kept getting worse and worse. It wasn't long before it progressed to where it felt like someone had shoved a bunch of the roughest rocks ever into my side and uterus, and they were all shifting, tearing up and stretching out my innards. I broke out into a cold sweat as I woke up fully and decided to get to someone for help.

I jumped out of bed and was rushing down the hallway when I collapsed to the floor. As much as I wanted to keep going, my legs physically wouldn't take me any farther because I was hurting too much. I might have passed out for a few seconds, I'm not sure. It was very early and the sun hadn't come up, so the entire house was very dark, so honestly I couldn't tell.

Luckily dad heard me moaning on the floor and got mom up to help. I couldn't so much as move for about 45 minutes, and during that time I had to try and juggle with the pain and a good bit of nausea - I couldn't exactly get to the bathroom to throw up. Over the course of that 45 minutes though, the pain slowly faded, and by the end of that time period, I was able to move again. We were heavily considering going to the ER, but it started going away, so we decided against it.

I think this happened only about three times in my entire life, and it was exactly the same each time. 10 pain to the point I'm on the floor, can't move, and nearly pass out. Plus nausea points. Then around the 45 minute mark I'm alright, and there aren't any other symptoms. I'm still terrified that it'll happen again someday. It hasn't in forever.

Bonus story! My case of leukemia was a very strange one with an almost unheard of presentation: extremely bad bone pain. Even this, though, only ever got up to an 8. However it lasted so much longer and was far more consistent. I was maxing out on Advil and and some other med to bring it down to a 5 or 6. This lasted for one or two weeks at a time, and I couldn't move because of it. I would do anything not to have to do that again.

I'd much rather suffer through emotional pain than physical.

I almost cut my toe off (this would be the second time, since it happened once before when I was five, in a different way at a different place).

So, it was Easter of like, what? 2017? We were at my grandma's on my dad's side, and my sister got this purple wind-up bunny that shit jelly beans. Yeah. You heard me right. So, she left it sitting in the hallway between the kitchen and the living room. I was gonna go out to the backyard to supervise my siblings and cousins because I'm the oldest on that side of the family out of like... 8 kids? I have 3 siblings and 4 cousins, so yeah, 8. Basically the way the house is is that in order to get to the backyard, you have to go through the kitchen and the hallway. Anyway, I was running down the hallway, and I stepped on the back of this fucking jelly-bean-shitting rabbit, and I didn't think much of it. When I got to the kitchen, I started feeling the pain in my right foot, and I thought "What the shit?" I sit on the table in the kitchen and look at my foot, and there's a cut so deep on my toe that I can see the bone. Thank the gods that my uncle in a nurse, so he was able to help, but I hated every fucking second of that. The pain was so bad lol.

I fell off a horse while playing polo and knocked myself out. The pain as my head hit the ground was definitely a solid 10. It broke my riding helmet and left me with a hell of a concussion.

I have a hernia in my man parts, so whenever I lift something they try to escape my body, like trying to push an egg through a grocery bag, but the grocery bag is your skin? But, I'd still count hitting my dog in minecraft as way worse.

I didn't know how to ride a motor scooter as a kid and pulled an epic powerslide on the asphalt with my arms and legs.

Still gotta scar on my right elbow.

I ride horses, so I've had numerous, incredibly painful injuries...

I was 11 years old riding a horse I couldn't truly control. I was trying to take her over a small jump, but she leapt 3 feet over it and broke out in a full on gallop. I fell off from 5 feet in the air, going at around 25 mph, and landed back-first onto a metal pole. I lay prone covered in dirt, the wind knocked out of me, pain enveloping my entire body. Luckily I wasn't paralyzed, but the pain physically weighed me down and I couldn't get up for minutes. The recovery was also rife with pain. For many months I could barely walk, I couldn't bend down, I couldn't lift my arms past my shoulders, I struggled to get in and out of bed, ect. I experienced regular pain for about 3 years, and even now have some back problems... Once in awhile (pretty rarely now) I'll experience a severe burning sensation in my spine and will have to lay down for a few minutes. My neck and back will ache if I sit in certain positions for too long.

And that injury was only one of many lol.

Another time, when I was around 14, I hurt my tailbone falling off the same horse. I had to limp back home over a trail. It hurt to sit down for a good year. But the worst part was I went to this sadist physical therapist who said my tailbone was out of alignment and physically tried to move it back in place. I struggle to put the pain into words... it was a searing, torturous pain that made me want to scream.

I got a fish hook stuck in my ankle once. It was dark so the person helping me didn't see the fishing line still attached and stepped on it. Several times. I was about 8. Yup, playing with a fishing hook at night. Outside.

I've never advertised myself as an intelligent thing.

Hmmm.... What to share....
I've stabbed, burned, and had the snot beaten out of me a few times. Those were fun times. Makes it hard to choose one, but I'd say it would be getting my head slammed between a car door and the chassis. To date, it's the only thing to make me blinded by pain and scream uncontrollably. Plus, it nearly took the top of my ears off too. I started to wear button up shirts regularly because of how much hassle it was to pull a tshirt over my aching head.
