History: Â
Sesus Indigo is the daughter of a minor branch of House Sesus, child to a concubine from the West and her Wood-Aspected master. She was considered a freak with her indigo-coloured hair and eyes, suffering much bullying and abuse when she went to primary school. When she had failed to Exalt by the age of fourteen, her father sent her to the Spiral Academy, where she suffered dreadfully at the hands of the Fire-Aspected Cathak Canordin and his ‘sworn brotherhood’ of Exalt friends. When she was seventeen, she Exalted during a gang rape by Canordin and his buddies, scarring him permanently. She quickly became her father’s favourite child, but it was her bureaucratic training that caught the eye of her kinsfolk. She has quickly earned a name for herself in Sesus mercantile dealings and is already a noted woodworker and healer at barely thirty years of age.
Her dislike of Cathak Canordin is well known, and she has recently left the Realm to prevent a feud from tearing another hole in the fragile Dynasty.
Appearance
Indigo is a strikingly beautiful woman with greenish-tinted skin and blue-violet hair that she wears in a simple plait or ponytail most of the time. She wears an indigo-coloured buff jacket with concealed green jade plates over a simple black tunic and breeches in combat or simple half-robes and breeches or a skirt in black, indigo and forest-green for everyday wear. Her preferred footwear is Western-style ankle-boots and the only set of formal robes she owns are the old-fashioned kind in her usual colours. She is never without her green jade hearthstone amulet set with a stone of healing from her personal Manse and rarely away from her indigo-enamelled green jade long powerbow Hyacinth Rain.
Personality
Indigo is outwardly a woman with a quiet, introverted and almost serene personality whose sole passions are her woodwork and medical studies. She is dutiful, respectful and respectable (no mean feat for someone from one of the most decadent Houses in the Scarlet Dynasty) with a firm but gentle compassion towards her inferiors. If anything, her family considers that her biggest fault is a lack of ambition when it comes to politics; she will play the bureaucratic and mercantile game, but she does it out of duty for House Sesus, not her own personal gain or that of her House.
Inwardly, Indigo just wants to be left alone. She is not particularly devout as an Immaculate but attends services regularly and has made some truly spectacular woodwork her yearly tithe to the local temple. Her opinion of herself is skewed; she is beautiful, if exotic, but the bullying at school has convinced her that she is a ‘freak’ who got lucky with her Exaltation. She is looking for a husband who will be of sufficient rank and bloodline to father Exalted children upon her but low enough that he will not disdain her for the brand that Cathak Canordin left upon her right shoulder.
NB: Indigo was created for a Dragon-Blooded game. I wanted to get away from the boring old 'Prince of the Earth' and focus on someone who ended up with her fair share of emotional problems because of being a 'late bloomer' and having poor Breeding compared to other Dynasts.
