Remus pulled up the baggy pants that insisted on falling down at the most inopportune moments, as he made his way onto the train. He couldn't wait to change into his school robes.

He breathed a sigh of relief. At least he was back at Hogwarts. Back with his friends. He had a safe place to change every full moon, friends who knew his secret and accepted him anyway, and a whole year in which he was able to sneak to the library and read a good book. That is what he was really excited about... the books. He didn't have many at home, but here there were more than he could ever read!

Quidditch games, and the shrieking shack... he got excited just thinking about it.

He searched the compartments for Sirius and James. No doubt Peter would be tagging along. He really did hope they'd arrives already. He was impatient to see them.

Sirius Black hated the summer holidays. His home life had got exceedingly worse and worse as he grew older. It had never been very pleasant, but once he had been sorted into Gryffindor, that had sealed his fate. Now, Regulus was his parents pride and joy, while Sirius was left attention deprived and often without supper, but still felt like he got the better end of the deal. He had got to spend the first few weeks with the Potters, but was promptly taken back home because of a family crisis. Andromeda had run away, to be with a muggleborn. Everyone was furious. Sirius, on the other hand was quite proud of her.

When the Blacks arrived at the Hogwarts Express, Sirius muttered something of a goodbye to his parents, and went off to find his real family. He spotted James, saying goodbye to his parents, and joined the trio. Mr. And. Mrs. Potter had always been especially kind to him. The two boys said goodbye and boarded the train.

"Ready for another year?" asked James, who was glancing around for Peter and Remus. Sirius shrugged and ran a hand through his chin length dark hair. "Better than being at home," he replied. The two boys spotted Remus and both moved in to hug him. "Moony, did your mom forget what size pants you wear?" Sirius asked, laughing, eying the boy's baggy pants.

Remus' heart gave a little jerk as he felt their arms around him. He blushed and looked at the floor after Sirius spoke (he tried not to think about why that was too much). "Sure she did Padfoot. That's a problem with my mum, you know? She forgets these things." His stomach was doing little flips. Banter with Sirius always made him like this. He blushed some more. "How was the Holiday? Have any adventures without me?" He looked at James and Sirius thinking vaguely that something was missing. That was when he remembered Peter. He looked behind his best friends shoulders to discover the small round boy looking small and uncomfortable. "Hey Peter, doing all right?" The small boy nodded and looked to James and Sirius apparently enthralled with what they were going to say next. Remus swore the boy had some sort of hero worship for those two. He smiled slightly and rolled his eyes.

Sirius smile. "Maybe I should send her an owl, and let her know," he joked. Sirius had missed Remus. He never got to see him over the summer holidays unless it was at James's. His parents would never permit him to go a non Purebloods house, even if he was hanging out with them at Hogwarts. He always worried how he was, especially during the full moon. "James, got to go to the quidditch cup, lucky bloke," Sirius answered, shoving James playfully. "Andy ran away with a muggle born, caused quite an scene with the family. Bellatrix was furious. So, I had to dress and up and go to boring Pureblood functions to keep up the family appearance," he said rolling his eyes.

James and Sirius turned and greeted Peter with smiles. "The whole gang is back together," Jamss said happily. "What did you do over holiday?" Sirius asked Remus and Peter.

Peter had little to say. "I didn't do much of anything really. It's boring at my place, nothing to do, not like going to the Quidditch cup!" You could hear the envy in his voice.

Remus was afraid his summer was about like Peters. "I didn't really do anything either. I got a few new books and got ahead for Defense Against the Dark Arts. Really the worst part of my summer was that it was painfully boring. I will need to come over more next summer Prongs." He looked around at the train. Compartments were filling fast. "Should we find an empty compartment? Wouldn't want to have to sit by a Slytherin, would we Sirius?" He jabbed Sirius in the ribs with his elbow, smiling slightly. He knew Padfoot harbored a special dislike for Slytherins having been raised in a family full of the obnoxious gits. "Andy's married to a muggleborn, eh? Doubt that's what the lovely Mrs. Black had in mind."

"Well, the seats weren't that good," James said, trying to be humble. "You can come over, any time Remus, you too Peter, mum likes it when I have guests," James said. Mrs. Potter liked all her sons friends even of they did get into a bunch of mischief. Sirius nodded, agreeing with Remus. "Yes, please, let's hurry, I would hate to get stuck sitting with one of my cousins, or worse my brother," Sirius said frowning at the thought. Most Slytherins were Purebloods, and everyone knew that Purebloods were all related to each other one way or another, and Sirius couldn't stand the lot of them. Blood purists idiots.

James and Sirius led the way to any empty compartment. James sitting on the left and Sirius on the right. "I'm rather proud of her, just makes my parents harder on me, though. They don't want the shame in having a blood traitor as a son," Sirius said. He was already on the way there, though. "Did you lot do all the summer work?" Sirius asked.

Remus felt bad for Sirius sometimes. Remus' parents weren't the best (his being a Werewolf was a hindrance for them), but they did their best and took care of him. Even loved him despite his situation. Sirius' parents weren't as gracious as his own. "I'm sorry about that, mate. At least you've got us." Remus said as he and Peter took their seats opposite the other two. Remus smiled at his question. Never fail someone in the group didn't finish their homework. Remus figured at least Peter would be looking off his notes. "I did. I have it in my bag." He looked at Peter and his horrified expression that confirmed his thoughts. "Don't worry Wormtail, you can have a peak at mine." Peters expression cleared and he whispered a relieved thank you to his friend. Remus looked back at Sirius and James. "How far did you two get on it?"
