overview.
The small town of Mystic Cove is home to many rumors and legends. One such rumor is that a witch found the land in the early 1600s and with her coven formed a town in which practitioners of magic could be safe from those that wanted them dead. The witches practiced their craft and protected their homes until one night tragedy struck. The witches protecting the town were attacked by skilled witch hunters and lost many coven members in the ruthless attack. The surviving members hid and were never seen again. In honor of the founding witches, the townspeople came to celebrate 'Witch Night' a holiday meant to honor those fallen witches that once protected them. With the passing years, the legend became nothing more than a story and Witch Night was just one more day for people to celebrate.
But the witches had been real and their descendants are still walking the streets of Mystic Cove. Some of them know who they descend from and some have no idea but on the next Witch Night, some of the most powerful descendants will be drawn into the woods, be it by their instincts or circumstances and discover a special book, the covens book of shadows. With that discovery will come an awakening of their bloodlines. A connection they can't break will unite them as a new coven. All of them will have to protect the book, learn their craft and make sure their new world stays secret from mortals around them while trying to navigate the trials of being a teenager.

Hello guys! Autumn is here and I am seriously craving a witch roleplay. Hopefully, some of you are as well. I am looking for a small group of 3-5 people (besides me) to fill in the six available roles. I would honestly prefer a small group that would be willing to work and talk together so the RP could last longer.
I have been inspired by various media and books but in the end, I'm going for a vibe that has occasional dark moments but isn't dark all the time. Think of a vibe like The Craft (without them going all evil on each other) or The secret circle with a hint of Charmed.
In the end, it won't be like the movie/shows I mentioned, at least where the plot is concerned since we will make a story of our own but the vibe of the story should be clearer if you keep those in mind. It will all start when our teens are being drawn from the party on the night people celebrate Witch night (think people dressing up as witches at a festival full of fake potions as drinks and food while the whole town square is decorated in creepy witch stereotype decorations like cobwebs, etc...). They find the book, try a spell and when they think it doesn't work they return to the party. But as the party goes on their powers start to awaken and strange things start to happen because of it. The leader contacts the others and they decide to meet in an old house the leader's family owns but isn't in use to talk about their next steps.
As the RP goes on we can add new plot points and I'm always open for suggestions.

P.s.: the genders of the roles can be changed, I just used female as default so I don't have to write he/she/they on everything. Only the leader has to be female, the other genders can be changed as you wish.

She knows about her family history and had been frustrated that she couldn't awaken her powers. She is a hard worker, wants to prove herself in everything she does, is a big planner and while she may seem cold and distant she is actually a caring person where her friends are concerned.
Core: Determination
Powers: telekinesis, can move things with her mind, the stronger the determination to do it the stronger the power (and standard witch abilities like casting spells, making potions, etc...)

She doesn't like anyone telling her what she should and shouldn't do. She wants to be leader of the group for exactly that reason and constantly challenges the leaders decisions. While she may be a bit reckless in her decisions they all come from a good place no matter how much some people may think otherwise.
Core: independence
Powers: pyrokinesis, she gained the power to control and direct any form of fire (and standard witch abilities like casting spells, making potions, etc...)

the nature witch.

she is drawn to nature and appears to be a mediator between the leader and the rebel. She didn't know about her family secret and didn't believe in magic until she got her powers.
Core: Caring
Powers: plant manipulation, can control and grow plant life and if trying very hard minor elements of earth (and standard witch abilities like casting spells, making potions, etc...)
the water witch.
open / closed
the water witch has a strong affinity for water magic. Anything connected to the sea and water aids her in her spells and gives her a boost to her power. She suspected a little about her family secret but never knew for sure until she got her own powers awakened.
Core: Adaptability
Powers: aquakinesis, able to control water at will (and standard witch abilities like casting spells, making potions, etc...)
the intuitive w.

A witch with a keen intuition even before her powers appeared, she knew of her family history after she was lead to it by instinct and had researched all that she could about witchcraft. She has a wast knowledge of magic and can even come up with new spells of her own in a very short amount of time.
Core: Intuitive
Powers: very heightened intuition verging on predicting the near future, minor deflection, can reflect smaller attacks by magic (and standard witch abilities like casting spells, making potions, etc...)
the creative witch.
open / closed
the creative witch knew a little about her family secret but never really looked into it too deeply thinking the book was lost forever anyway. She is a wiz at improvizing and is relatively good under pressure. She also really likes crafting and it sometimes shows in her witchcraft.
Core: Creativity
Powers: conjuration, can conjure objects at will (and standard witch abilities like casting spells, making potions, etc...)

No one liners. If you express interest please know that you will be expected to write at least two medium sized paragraphs per post and post at least twice a week.
two.
No godmoding and similar stuff. Each player plays their own characters and if you want to use your powers on one of the groups characters ask permission of the characters owner first.
three.
Communication is key for an RP to last longer so please be okay with a Discord chat so we can talk and plan better.
