  It all started on one star-filled night in the last week of summer vacation.
  
  In a small town still classified as a mountain town that is nestled between opposing mountain ranges in the Hokkaido prefecture of Japan. It houses no more than 1000 residents and is often seen as a tourist attraction during the summer months due to its relatively cool temperatures despite the Summer months. In addition, it is frequently a tourist attraction because of the unique cosmic phenomena that has been creating buzz around the internet for the past decade of the sky having the most shooting stars and display of the solar system than any place within the country, let alone from northern vantage points.
  
  Though officially known as Niyama Town, or simply known as Two Mountains Town, it has been getting another name attached to it and it is wholeheartedly due to the recent, unexplainable wonders in the sky:
  
  Nogaraboshi - The Town Bathing in Stars.
  
  Naturally the wonder has attracted a lot more tourists, which has effectively brought a lot more wealth to the once humble and peaceful town. Little does anyone know, the truth of the frequent display of sparkling stars and clear constellations is the work of something far greater than anyone can ever imagine and especially for 6 kids present at the time there will be the tenth annual shooting star, as predicted by astronomers.
  
  June 20th, 2025. The day of the Summer Solstice and the day that will be known to 9 kids of ages ranging from 14-16 as the day stars fell and they learned to fly.

  General Rules & Expectations!
  
  • RPN rules apply
  • Respect your fellow player and treat them with as much kindness as they deserve
  • Rolplay will be PG-13. While I understand that the characters, as teens, will curse and be obscene (which is typical of that age demographic), don't go overboard
  • No sexism or any other isms that is prejudiced will be tolerated. Respect everyone and whatever they believe in.
  Roleplay-specific Rules and Expectations!
  
  • I will leave it up to a vote once we have our full cast whether our OOC is a DIscord Server or on-site OOC
  • At least 2 paragraphs per post.
  • As I myself suffer from unexpected dips in writing motivation (a mix of writer's block and my own depression), I won't be putting any sort of "x amount of posts per week), but when there is x amount of days silent, I might bug you with a mention.
  Character-Specific Rules and Expectations
  
  • To give the character creation a bit more pizazz: each character will have a wish that is specific to them but also that ties into their crest. Just keep it in mind
  • LGBTAIQ+ friendly. You can make any character that identifies as any gender or identity. This includes but not limited to: non-binary, gender queer, ftm, mtf. Same goes for their sexual orientation.
  • We are using anime facelcaims only here. So please no real life face claims nor any realistic art. I want to keep with the anime aesthetic. That being said, if you want to have a character with crazy hair colors like neon green or rainbow dye, then by all means!
  • Depending on how many (or how few) interested parties, I may allow instant reservations for crests. Until then, I shall take in which ones you're interested into account and we shall go from there.
  • When making your characters, please keep in mind of the location: we are in the Hokkaido prefecture of Japan and though there is always a way to explain that your character wouldn't be Japanese such as transfer student, or is part of a tourist family, all characters will likely be Japanese.
  • Additionally, please keep in mind the diversity of DIgimon Partners. Branch out of the typical dino and dra-mon lines. Let yourself have some fun with it!
  • Our digivices will be more modern (tech wise) versions of the Adventure 02 D-3 Digivice. Though, if yall prefer, we can go classic or even smartphone.
  • There won't be any defacto leader within the group (unless the group ICly nominates one). So it is, essentially, a free-for-all

  Hello welcome to Wish Upon A Shooting Star, a Digimon Adventure-inspired roleplay. I’ve been craving and been wanting to do something DIgimon-esque but set in the classic setting that is as close to Digimon Adventure as we can get. I wanted to throw in a more fantastical take on it. Something that’s more lighthearted than your typical “kids at summer camp and get drawn into a new world”. There will still very much be crests as in the original. I’m thinking the original 8 + Kindness?
  
  The idea, roughly, is to play this by ear. I really want this to be a very immersive, character-driven story for the most part. Of course, as the GM, I’ll provide some digimon interactions here and there that will allow for classic character moments to shine and partnerships to also shine through.
  
  As far as how many players, ideally I would love it if we could get 8 others including myself with there being one set of digidestined and digimon partner per player. The option to have more is open but I think to get us established, that’s what I’m aiming for. I also want there to be a bit of variety in the lines and species representation. For example, though I am guilty of this myself, I do see far too many dino and dragon lines in digimon rps that doesn’t provide a diverse aesthetic. And with so many different types of Digimon out there, there’s a lot to choose from. But that being said, I’m not too strict with this as I want everyone to have the freedom to choose what they wish to.
  
  I would like there to be a cast diversity too when it comes to genders. With the potential for 9 characters, i don’t want there to be 8 males and 1 female and vice versa.
  
  Overall, I want everyone to have their fun and create a very open minded environment for a digimon roleplay based off of a season that we all know and love!

First of all, welcome! Happy to have ya! Secondly, so long as the line doesn't utilize original digimon or X-antibody digimon, then go ham. X-Antibody carriers are fine, so the likes of Ryudamon, dorumon, etc are fine. I just would rather not go into the X Antibody lore if i can help it.

Small update so there isn't any confusion

Regarding Digimon and I feel like I need to better explain my reasoning.

I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to digimon lines. The usage of X-Antibody digimon (not carriers since they themselves have their own lines) has always rubbed me the wrong way and since I don't plan on using the X-Antibody in any plots, it serves no purpose to utilize it.

As far as original digimon, with so many digimon of all stages being added to the overall reference book, original digimon aren't required as you would find in other fandoms. There's so much variety to find the perfect line for your digimon partner. It's honestly insane just how much there is. Also don't feel limited to just regular digimon. If legendary warriors fit your line's aesthetic, by all means go for it! Armor digimon too. Jogressed digimon are an option too. The world is your oyster, as they say.

Oooh I love that. Kinda keeps up the theme of the crest of friendship being tied to darkness, which could be an interesting arc for your character should you want to go that route. Plus, I just think the line is neat!
