Wings & A Battle Rp

Sophrosyne

Anxious child
Sammi walked slowy into the morning air. The sun had barely began to rise over the mountain range Horizon. The light peek, alite the Sky in brigh orange. Which slowly faded into a peach colored pink. She wasdressed in a White, knee-high, dress. The edge outlined with a light Aqua ruffle. She had her light brown hair brushed and tattered in a high, ponytail.

She was the first of her Flock to have awaken. She was the first one up anyways, she always walked outside to check their surrondings. Still, as usial. Sammi glanced back at their wooden cabin. They had been staying at for seven months. The longest they had ever stayed at any resident. Sammi slowly outstreched her angle white wings. They were paticularly sour from being held in so long.

Sammi wached as the windows were plain dark. Until a room had lite up. One of the member's had just awoken. No doubt hungery, Sammi retrieved her wings back in. Slowly she desendend back inside.

Tat awoke with a slight stretch, his arms reaching up to the ceiling of the room. As he reached up to the ceiling his hands opened and protrusions of bones left his finger tips, it seeming that even his bones wanted to stretch out a bit. His eyes opened as a yawn left his lips, him adjusting to the light that was entering the room through varying windows and the such. When his eyes adjusted he noticed Sammi walking back into the room, it seeming that she had awoken earlier than he had. He smiled lightly as he stood from the make shift bed against the wall perched upon a rather old looking table top, “Morning Sammi.”

He paused for a brief moment and walked over to the window, pushing it open and then sitting on the windowsill with his legs hanging out of the building. He looked back at the ones that were still asleep, peaceful expressions on their faces as they dreamed of better days hopefully. Seemingly to coincide with him looking back to the outstretching façade outside of the cabin, his tattoos were slowly leaking back to the surface which meant that his wings would soon follow…him feeling like stretching a bit this morning. Before Sammi could respond to his good morning comment he leapt off of the windowsill and stood outside, his wings emerging from him as his tattoos became fully visible enshrouding his black wings with even more darkness as it enveloped them in a blacker filament. He looked back through the window and said with a smile that contradicted his appearance, “I figure on a morning slight, you can join me if you’d like Sammi.”

Kyoshi awoke slowly from a long overdue slumber. It seemed as though he had not slept that well in years. He stood up and immediately spread his wings as if he was stretching them. Noticing Sammi walking in he immediately descended his wings into his back. Kiyo was the newest one to the group and felt pretty distant from them all. Kiyo barely new anyone anyway. He was a loner in that sense.

"Goodmorning Sammi and goodmorning Tat."

He walked outside to the rest of the group to fully stretch his body out. He ascended his wings back out to the 10 feet wingspan. The sun was starting to brighten so Kiyo would soon find a place to shade himself away from the sun.

Rowan laughed. Everyone thought they'd woken up before her but actually she'd been up since midnight. She'd been circling the house waiting for the lights to come on. She saw bedroom lights coming on. She waited a while before descending onto the porch. She walked in. "GOODMORNING EVERYONE!"

Kiyo was startled by Rowan's laugh. "Goodmorning," he muttered. Kiyo went back to finding himself a place in the shade.

Kiyo was the newest one that escaped. He was just now starting to adjust to living with other people in the real world.

Back when he didn't have his freedom he didn't get to see the sun it was a new thing to him.

This is why kiyo stays under the shade and in the dark most of the time.

Sammi glanced into the sky, where Tat was flying. "I'll join you later Tat." She smiled, cuffing a hand over her eye's. To shade her eyes. Sammi noticed as the two other arrive. "Good morning guys." She glanced around, making a mental note into her head. She glanced at the kitchen, which gave her an idea. "How does this sound? Everyone dresses and we Fly to the city for food." It was a simple idea. But at least they had achance to get out of the hoise.

Kiyo was very hesitant about this idea. "I don't really know if I want to go." Kiyo's belly began to grumble.

"Maybe on second thought I will go." Kiyo expanded his wings out once more and flew above the ground about 2 feet.

He was almost at a levitating position. Kiyo had a hood over his head to block out the sun.

"Is it just me or is it very bright out today?"

Tat had went ahead and flown off, figuring if any of them wanted to join him out they would eventually come along. As he flew through the sky he passed by a few fellow winged critters, them appearing to be some kind of ducks. This particular day was rather tranquil, the sun being out without any rain clouds in sight. His ebony wings glimmered in the rays of light that beaded down from above, light shadows being cast by overhanging clouds as he continued on. A light sigh passed his lips as he gazed down bellow, noticing a pristine waterfall quickly approaching.

In an instant he let a smirk pass by his lips and he started to dive bomb toward the falls, his wings laying flat against his back as a black translucent filament covered his eyes protecting him from the vigorous wind. The ink within him-which translates to darkness to some people-reacts to fleeting thoughts and necessity, allowing him to do things that no other human would be able to accomplish. Just before contact with the water fall he opened his raven colored wings and took a hard turn, cutting the waterfall in an instant as he climbed up the falls. For a spare moment as he rose up the falls it appeared that there was at the time two separate ones, him now still as he watched the waterfall merge yet again into one. The beat of his wings echoed with the rush of the falls as he hovered a few feet from the surface of the water, tranquility being a stark comparison to his outward appearance.

Many people have seen him before he had escaped, them all judging him to be an abomination and a demon. The reason being because of an incident that had happened early on in his life at the lab, they never intended on giving him any powers in addition to the wings. The Bone Manipulation and Ink Affinity was totally coincidental, it simply happened one day in the lab as he was being examined. All he could remember was a mass of black tentacles erupting from his body, enveloping any who were present. A spine on bones protruded from his spine as well as four horns from his forehead, the name Demon seeing to be a good name for him there.

His eyes closed as he meditated on what he had just thought, his experiences being what had shaped him into what he was today. He could have been someone else entirely if he simply didn’t fit what they needed in the lab, fate being a fickle tart at times. An aura of ink strands emitted from his body as he floated there, his mind reaching out to a sense of peace. The bones within him relaxing as he slowly descended next to the river, him coming to a rest as he reached the ground bellow.

His eyes opened as the ink once again settled to its place in his skin, the patterns slowly returning to their rightful place. He looked behind him and there stood a lone rock, it being five foot in height and four or so in width. He need to blow off some steam so a bone weapon extended from his arm, ((It still being embedded in his arm)) maybe three feet or so long but rather sturdy and sharp. The tattoos on his arm enveloped the weapon giving it an ominous tinge and adding to its harness and lethality, the combination of the two powers rather intimidating to most. He placed a few precise swipes at the stone, it being effectively turned into slices as it crumbling into a couple pieces. He exclaimed to himself as he stood there, his wings sill visible as with the weapon-esk item, “Well that helped a bit.”

"No." Rowan said stiffly. She jumped over the back of the couch and fell onto the front, "You guys have fun." She didn't want to get out of the house, she LIKED the house. She ignored Sammi and turned on the T.V.

Sammi glared at Rowan, before breaking off her glance. She had quickly switched feet, "Then it's just you and me Kiyo." She announced. Sammi didn't bother telling Rowan goodbye, as she wipped her wings out. Stedily jumped into the air, she soared upwards and waited for Kiyo. Kiyo was right, it was bright out today.

Rowan laughed. "Bye!" She yelled as loud as she could, she knew Sammi could hear it. She began flipping through channels until she found MTV. She knew Sammi wouldn't be happy about her playing MTV in the house but she didn't care. She realized she hadn't eaten breakfast, oh well, she thought, maybe tomorrow.

Flower was already outside. She was sitting in the sun with her wings out. One thing about her power was, sitting in the sun made her feel better at times. When she was tired she could gain energy from the sunlight. Flower glanced back at two who walked out. Her wings folded back and she pushed her hair out of her eyes. “Good morning.” She said with a small smile. She looked at her little brother beside her. She slowly stood up again and then pushed her hair behind her ear.

Keyla soon came out as well. She held her hands out in front of her and then made her way to a tree where she stood out looking at the others. She smiled and then looked around. Blackness….nothing but blackness….however….the color of emotions helped her a lot. She looked at the trees…..she saw some movement but it was too dark in her eyes. She smiled happily though.

Tat stood there a bit longer, his thoughts shifting back and forth from past to present. More times than naught he was remembering the past, his time in the lab not pleasant at all. Most of the time he was spurned and ostracized due to how he can appear to look due to his powers, protruding bones and moveable ink isn’t exactly the norm around humans. In his early years in the lab he was not capable of controlling either of the powers, resulting in varying outcomes of appearance changes.

Nevertheless things turned out good enough for him, he had what was reminiscent of a family again…even if they were a bit peculiar most of the time. That made it interesting in his mind, boring and dull never being a good alternative in anyone’s ideal life. There were the odd few that seemed to prefer the solidarity of their own company, him often having the same mind set when he wishes to get something done. To that thought he shook his head, whatever thoughts he had been thinking about now at the back of his mind.

He smiled lightly to himself and looked up at the sky as his weapon went back into his arm, the ink resting back into its spot as well. “I wonder what everyone is up to,” he mused to himself under his breath, his wings starting to beat. He slowly levitated into the air and was off, going back to the cabin for the moment to simply see what is happening with everyone. It didn’t take to long to make his way back to the cabin, an assortment of them outside at the moment as he approached. Flower and her brother were out, as well as Keyla, and a multitude of others.

Tat dropped back to the ground a few feet off of the ground, the ink leaving his wings and resting on his back once again. Just as he stood on the grassy ground his wings went back into his body, his tattoos vanishing deep within him as well. The winged ones are an unique addition to this world but Tat was complex, so many things happened each time he revealed his true self…even his bones within himself shifted as if welcoming the change to come. He stretched and let a beaming smile appear on his face, his arms stretching up above his head. His raven black hair glimmering in the sunlight as he looked over at Keyla, the smile still upon his face as he spoke, “Keyla how are you this fine morning?”

He realized that there were others about the space but he seemed to relate to her in a way, he was not sure why but he didn’t see no reason to question such things to much. Perhaps it was because she was not the same as the others, or maybe it was simply because he saw some of himself in reference to his time in the lab. The reason for that being he was quiet and nowhere near the person he is now, the time in the tank changing him severally. At times he was angry at those that had changed him but at the same time he realized they were the ones that led him to where he was now, so in actuality he could not be wholly angry at them.

Keyla tilts her head in a way and looked toward the sound. She smiled lightly her black wings twitching behind her. She stretched them out and then folded them back. "Good morning, I am fine...and you?" She said her white eyes scanning to as if to find him. She slowly reached out and touched his shoulder. She nodded. "Yes, Yes...I was right..." She said letting her hands see for her. She pulled her hand away. "Tat." She looked as the wind blew her hair out of place. Keyla may be blind...but unlike popular thinking she was far from helpless. She looked as Creed came out. She narrowed her eyes. His blackness that filled his form made Keyla very uncomfortable. He was always angry and that bothered Keyla. She looked away and back at where she last knew tat was. "Mostly everyone seems to be in a good mood." She said pushing her white hair away from her face.

Creed looked at Flower and then went behind her. He “accidentaly” pushed her off the porch. He smirked at Flower’s obvious anger. “Oops.” He said and then flinched back as Flower sparked a flame at him. “Hmph.” He said and then looked as Viol was staring at him. Creed glares. “What do you want? Runt.” He said and then walked off before Viol could bite him like last time. Viol only once reverted to changing form and biting Creed but really….Creed deserved it. Creed spread his wings and slowly flew high into a tree to stay there for now. He watched the others with his normal glare of hate.

Flower slowly got up dusting off her clothes. “Ugh…” She said and then looked at Viol who seemed as calm as ever. She pushed her long white hair behind her shoulder. “It’s only because you scare him do you not get pushed around….literally.” She said and then looked at Keyla who was staring at her. Flower knew anger always caused Keyla discomfort. She slowly calmed herself for Keyla’s sake. She sighed, she wasn’t harmed but Creed never liked anyone here but he likes to focus on Flower because she was easy to anger.

((Sorry for the delay))

Keyla reached out to touch Tat’s shoulder, which he didn’t shy away from in the lest bit. It was strange that he of all people would have any assortment of people willing to be around him for any extended periods of time, especially since he was made out to be a metaphorical demon back in the lab. “I’m well,” he said with a light smile, him filled with happiness just like he always was now a days…the past however was a different story, he would have been filled with sadness and despair. He wondered what Keyla could see with her power, how he would be depicted in her eyes.

Tat glanced over as Flower was falling off of the porch, Creed being the one to instigate such a thing yet again. More times than naught it seemed that he reveled in causing anger in people, Flower being the one he gravitates to most of the time. People were odd in many ways-a fact that Tat was learning quickly-and Creed was no different, which was obviously apparent. A mild altercation was possible but it was quickly stamped out by others near them, it not out of character for something similar to occur between them.

He let out a sigh and wondered, him thinking back to the last time he had been in a population other than the flock. With that thought in his mind he turned back to Keyla, one finger lifting indicating a physical representation of an idea he was about to pose. “I have an Idea,” he paused for dramatic effect and then said with a nod, “How about a trip to the mall nearby, lord knows I could use a new pair of kicks and a quick meal at a fast-food restaurant.” He smiled lightly and added as he moved against the tree she was standing next to, him leaning back on it, “Would you like to Keyla.” The reason he didn’t pose the question to the rest of them was he didn’t have any sort of interest in getting to know anymore about them-casual observations being enough for them-and they were into their own things at the moment, Keyla seemed to be someone he could connect with…in his mind at least.

Keyla always enjoyed the sight of happiness. It was colorful and bright. She looked at Tat and saw that, truly giving her a smile. However like her normal self it only lasted a bit. She looked away and then pushed her fingers through her hair. “I’m not sure that’s such a good idea.”

Keyla looks at him. “If I may imply here, I cannot hide my wings as the others say you do.” She said and then looked over to where his voice was. “Also unless you have money…I’m not sure things would work out as you plan.” She chuckled and then stood up straight. She reached out to make sure nothing was in front of her. “Besides…me in a crowded place, oh I will just be trampled.” She said and then sighed. "I do not mean to be mean though Tat." She said and then walked off. She slowly made her way back to the house using the other's emotion movement to guide her. She smiled as Flower helped her up the steps.

Her not being able to hide her wings was news to him, he honestly didn’t know that she was not able to do such a thing. He shrugged and watched as she made her way back to the house with help from Flower up the steps, nevertheless he smiled anyway today being far better than what he use to be accustomed to. His eyes moved to the horizon as a breeze moved past him, ruffling his raven black hair as the tree’s leaves rustled above him casting changing shadows on the ground bellow. He wondered what he was going to do for the remainder of the day, the mall idea being a bust for lack of knowledge on his part.

“All well,” he said aloud as he pushed from the stout tree, making his way into the house as well. He glanced at Keyla as he did so, a light smile upon his face as he did so. When he stepped inside he made his way over to the kitchen area, it being smaller than the rest of the house in comparison. In a few minuets he had two frozen pizzas in the over, it being one that was already pre made…heat being the only thing that need be applied. He looked inside of the over through the see through portion and tilted his head, him realizing that this might take awhile.

He sat at the table in the dinning area, him glancing at those that were in the house at the moment. His mind soon started to wander as he sat there, his eyes migrating around to different areas as time ticked away. Him noticing Rowan on the couch and interested in a MTV program at the moment, Tat rather indifferent as to what she watches on her own time. Keyla being with Flower at the moment just outside of the house if he remembered right, the two of them close friends by what he had observed. He twiddled his thumbs on the table top as he awaited the food to get done, him sure that most of them would be in to get a slice for themselves when they get done.

Sammi flew around for a little bit. The sun on her face was warm and inviting. She flew straite up, then down. She had always loved the way the wind had blown against her as she soared through the sky. Many have said they were 'Born to Fly.' If only they could see that she really was. Sammi stopped midair. She gently flapped on a cold downdraft.

She watched below her as the Flock began to stir. Curiously, she flew down and landd on the ground. Some had went in, while others still remaind. Sammi noted all who were outside. She retrieved her wings. Than headed back inside. Sammi stopped and glanced at Rowan. "Anything to get on my nerves." She mumbled to herself. Sammi walked past Rowan with a scowl. She entered the kitchen, in time to her the faint beeping of the oven. "What are you Making Tat?" She said, placing a sweet smile instead of the scouwl.

Sammie had walked into the kitchen just as the timer on the over had went off, signaling the completion of the pizza within. Just as she did Tat had stood from the chair, his head tilting to the side as he heard her speak toward him. “Pizza,” he simply said as he made his way over to the oven, him using his bone manipulation technique to grab a hot pan holder on the other side of the kitchen. He took both pizzas out and sat them on the over top, to keep the counter from suffering from discoloration.

He looked back at Sammi as he let the extended bone return inside of his arm, “Would you like a slice?” He had a light smile upon his face as he did so, it inherently opposite as to what he was capable of. Some found it hard to believe that someone so sweet could posses such powers, ones that most would attribute to someone evil beyond comparison. He had taken out some plates and sat them atop the counter near the pizzas, in anticipation of the people that would no doubt find their way inside soon enough. In some ways the flock was more or less a sorority of different genders, each person having their own ticks and oddities.

He wasn’t entirely sure as to the bulk of the people’s food preferences but he figured who didn’t like pizza, not to like it was a bit odd in this day and age. They would most likely eat what he had cooked and if they didn’t he was sure that they would go through the act of making something that they would, a rumbly stomach doesn’t count laziness as a reason for inactivity. He laughed a small bit aloud ad he awaited Sammi’s answer, him now placing some two slices on each plate.

Viol walked in. He tilted his head at the food and then walked up grabbing a piece. He was a very quiet boy most of the time but sometimes he played jokes on the others. Mostly all in good fun. He looked as his overly protective sister came as well guiding Keyla into the kitchen as well. Both of them were laughing. Viol liked that Keyla took Flower's mind off of him. Flower was never far away from him. He understood her need to protect the only family she had left but sometimes....it suffocated him. He slowly sat under the table. He has certain instincts of his other form he never could shake.

Keyla smelled the food and wondered over on her own. “Flower I do understand you announce with him but setting his clothes on fire seems a bit harsh.” Keyla said looking for the food. She looked as Flower gave her a slice. “Thank you dear.” Keyla said. She bit into it and smiled at the taste. She loved pizza. She slowly grabbed a chair and as she pulled it back she heard a growl from below. She rolled her pure white eyes at Viol. “Be calm child you’re not a complete animal.” She said slowly sitting down. Keyla was careful in everything she did, mostly because if she didn’t….she would fall down or off of something. Keyla learned how to slow down and deal with her sight problem. She did like help but also liked how the others didn’t treat her differently….yet anyways.

Keyla looked at Viol. She saw on the outside he was calm normal boy…but inside his emotion outline that she saw as people was a raging beast. Viol managed to control its anger but Viol still sometimes showed common wild instincts that worried Keyla. He was smart and she knew it but his difficulty with his other self was showing. “Be calm Viol….please come up.” She said and then smiled as she saw his emotional colors stand beside her. Viol smiled at her; unlike Vince who treated him like a pet Keyla was always kind…that was just Keyla’s way.

Viol soon found his way sitting on Keyla’s lap. He smiled and giggled cutely. Flower rolled her eyes but her smile indicated it was not in an annoyed way.

Flower turned to Tat and Sammi. “Hello, Tat, Sammi.” She said and then looked at Tat. Unlike Keyla and Viol she still felt it necessary to ask permeation first. “May I have some?” She said. Flower could be aggressive and fiery but she also knew how to be nice to those she thought deserved it. Flower’s anger mostly was towards Vince. She showed she could kick anyone’s butt quite a few times by beating the crap out of Vince.

“Of course you can Flower,” he said with a light nod and grin as he looked back at Flower, her being rather nice to him in comparison to one such as Vince. He took a bite of the slice he had in hand and then placed it back upon his plate, he held out a different plate with two slices on it for her. His attention was brought to Keyla as Viol sat in her lap, the sight being rather comical in his mind. “You don’t see that every day,” he said with a light chuckle in reference to Viol, him waiting for Flower to take the plate.

In a strange way this conglomeration of people was more of a family than any he had beforehand, which was not that farfetched at all. Actual family was something that Tat could not wholly understand, him not having such a thing as a child. Foster homes were a constant in his life before getting sent to the lab, so Flower’s connection to her brother isn’t something that he can understand fully. He has to accept things at face value, it being how he came to understand things early on in his life. More times than naught he sees things brightly, often leaning to the light side when it is permitted.

Cold and dark were his early years but now he yearns to live in the warmth and light, no matter what may be in his way. If the path is shrouded in doom and gloom he will push through and find what small glimmer of light that lies at its heart, for the ones that see darkness in everything have little hope. That is how he sees things nowadays and he has been steadfast in following it word by word, light being the guiding force against what others see him as. If he truly had to be a demon then he would be a demon, but he would be one that contradicts one’s imagination. One that is not dictated by death and blood, but one that is governed by peaceful intentions.

Flower looked at him as he commented on viol and keyla. She chuckled and leaned in to whisper in tat's ear. "He's only trying to seem more cute, he finds he gets prized more that way." She pulled away taking he plate and sitting down to eat. She pushed her white hair behind her ear. "keyla...you do know why he's doing that right." Flower said taking a bite out of her pizza. She looked at her and then leaned back in her chair. Viol just smiled as he finished eating. Flower smiled lightly and took another bite of food.

Keyla stared straight up as she relaxed her wings stretching out wide. "Of course I do." She replied and then crossed her arms letting viol stay for now. She closed her eyes having no real reason to keep them open. Her wings on the other hand were being warmed by the sun which Keyla enjoyed. She did blow the hair out of her face that we're tickling her skin. Viol soon got down anyways to go play somewhere else. She gently set her hands on her lap.

With a slight tilt of his head he took a couple more bites from the pizza slice, him now over the taste of it. With that he simply washed the plate and sat it in the rack to dry, him not wanting to leave it out to attract all manner of insects. He wasn’t entirely sure what he was going to do now but he figure it would not be found in the house, to that he started for the door of the cabin. He looked at the group who were sitting at the table and announced what he was doing, a light smile still present upon his face which always seemed to be there, “I’m going for a walk, you’re welcome to come if you wish.” His statement was directed to all that would have heard it, him knowing full well how drab a day in an enclosed space could be.

He grabbed the black jacket that he had hanging on the coat rack next to the front door and slipped it on, him lightly nodding to Rowan indicating that he was going out. As he stepped out of the door he was greeted with a breeze, the jacket blowing back behind him and exposing the absence of any indication of tattoos. His hair also kicked up and let the sun light glimmer off of his cat like colored eyes, a shimmer glancing off of them as he stepped off of the bottom stair in the grass. With one more stretch he let out a slight sigh, expressing his boredom at the moment verbally. He glanced out at the outlining tree line and tapped his chin for a second, thinking on which way to venture. Neither way had much of a difference to it when you speak of walking distance, flight being something different because you could travel a greater distance.

Tat snapped his fingers and spoke aloud, “I got it.” He lifted his arm and pointed to the right, “Anny,” then in the middle, “Minnie,” then to the left, “Minny.” Thus the selection began him repeating the little chant until his finger landed to the direction on the right, him nodding in acceptance with this outcome.
