Changeling: Windy City Blues

I’ve been rereading Neverwhere quite a bit, and listening to a bit of Michael Jackson. After watching Smooth Criminal, I started having the inkling’s of a an idea forming in my head. I’m just going to throw it out there and see if I get any bites.

The city of Chicago is currently being controlled by the Winter Court, whose Queen has placed a ban on a beverage created from a recently discovered goblin fruit. The affects of which cause a state of blissful euphoria known to heighten the sensation of anyone who drinks it. The substance is known to completely wash away despair from the imbiber for a short period of time. As one could expect, this runs counter point to the Demand’s of the winter court, coupled with that fact the beverage has been discovered to be EXTREMELY addictive to anyone who has imbibed it.

As such, the creation, transportation, selling and even consumption of the beverage has been banned in the city at large. Of course, the spring courtier’s are not one’s to take this lying down. Harking back to Chicago’s past, the changeling population has begun once more to set up small clubs called speakeasy where one could pick up a distillation of the draft. They could drink, and make merry with only minimal fear that the strong arm of the Winter Court will locate them, and levy their punishment.

Many of the mover’s and shakers in this underground industry have taken to emulating the Mobster’s of Chicago’s past. They use many of the same underground tunnels, with a few conveniently placed hollows along the city to transport their illegal goods.

The story will follow the tale of the cities rum runners and speakeasy regulars, on their quest to keep up Liquid Bliss following through the veins of the city. Be prepared for dangerous forays into the hedge to locate the ingredients necessary to concoct the drink, bribery, and favor brokering.

Colour me interested! What are the rules as regards courts and stuff? (I have a serious love for the Dusk Court).

Failing that I have an idea for a Fairest Spring Court courier and rum-runner.... yeah....

Oooh sounds cool. Could maybe think up a fun wizend for this setting, possibly an autumn court wizend whose in on the whole thing because she really wants to study the stuff.

Interesting. I have a couple of concepts in mind. One of them is a manakin mecanical dancer. Could be the traditional cabaret dancer of the 20s filme noir.

I'd also like to register my interest: I love Changeling, but can never find anyone else to act as ST. Should we PM you with our concepts or..?

Sorry everyone, my sister decided to crash at my house for a while. I wasn't able to get any work at all done. I'm getting back on the horse.
