This thread is here for discussion on which characters would triumph over others. Though the prefix says 'Anime & Manga' said characters could be from anything, Marvel, DC, TV shows, etc. So I'm going to get the ball rolling with the controversial question of who would win in a fight between Goku and Saitama ?

[Idea]

Saitama. One punch man´s powers are literally to cause the defeat of whoever they are used upon. The only way to beat saitama would be if you could get him to use the power on himself.

Yush, I very much do agree. Hm, well, it's contradicting of his physical prowess and concept as a whole to be able to lose in anyway, so I ask a question. One that I most definitely cannot answer myself. What if Saitama were to fight himself ? Well it couldn't be a tie because Saitama must win but Saitama also couldn't win because for him to win he, the clone, would have to lose. A paradox !

not quite. Anywhere you go, here is how his powers are described:


"a man who can defeat any enemy with one punch."


That means, that the thing that happens is the utter defeat of the opponent. If two saitamas were to fight, they would tie, both defeated. If saitama was to fight himself, he´d loose, especially if he did so by means of say, mind control. That´s his one weakness, as far as I can see. The only people I can see beating him are main characters of the Lelouch vi Brittania sort, from like Code Gueass and Charlotte and Big Order.

My point exactly. His title of 'A man who can defeat any enemy with One Punch' suggests he can beat anyone, as it does say 'any'. If that is no longer true then he is no longer 'One Punch Man' but instead 'Probably Capable Of Winning You Man' which if was the case his whole character and very meaning would be lost.

if he can beat anyone, that includes himself. Plus, remember, "can" doesn´t imply "will".

But if he beats himself, he loses. Seing as can means the capability of doing something and we are forcing him to go all out against a character if he can, he will.

Depends, if you go by the Anime Goku would win as Saitaman has yet to reach the speed necessary to even land a punch. The simple fact that Frieza could destroy a planet with just a flick of his finger in his first form in itself shows the power that the beings in that universe posses. While Saitama has incredible power and speed he just has not come up against anyone on the level of Goku yet in the anime.


The Manga however I do not know because I have yet to read it so I can not form an opinion on that. :7p
