Who/what/where is Gaia

Okay, I don't get it why, why does everyone think that Gaia is a weakling and an idiot.  After all, it was her and Cytherea that created Creation and Yu-Shan.  Autochthon came around and automated everything, but he didn't really do anything else important.  Creation, it is said in Savant and Sorceror, was the first and greatest Artifact, and Gaia was one of its creators, so she is a better crafter than Autochthon.

I don't know where people get that Autochthon's weakest soul is stronger than Gaia's most powerful soul.  I don't... huh?

I wasn't even aware there were statistics for the Five Elemental Dragons.

It's stated explicitly in the section on the Subgods in the Auto book.

I think it's the best hardcover they've puto ut to date. It's tight, well written, and informative. Plus, Autocthonia kicks ass.

The basic content, background, and Alchemicals info from Autochthonians is excellent; the three adventures, however...there's a fair amount of debate about them. My main grudge is what the editors trimmed in order to make room from those adventures.

I thought that the entire idea of the hardcover books was to give background info and rules, not freaking prepackaged stories.  If I can't come up with something good without WW's help, I don't deserve to be an ST.

except that in the Alchie book it says in the indroduction, "Bear with us, we're trying something different."

Besides this is the first and only book with setting breaking camapians.  It's meant as a kind of a here watch how far we can explode the game.  Now you try.

Yeah, totally. They showcase the sort of stuff you can do with the Eye of Autochthon, First and Forsaken Lion, Govioshi, the Kukla, and a real live Primordial... stuff that's often beyond the scope of an ordinary campaign.

Nephipal is Michael Goodwin a freelancer for White Wolf.
He's also gone on record for declaring EC1 "poisonous" (or similar), due to some of the livelier inhabitants actively criticising some of his work (I can't remember what specifically), and including criticism of him in the process.

Basically, people gave him the hazing ritual, and he took offense.

Despite this, he has be acknowledged consentually as one of the better charm writers out there by the previous compedium, especially when compared with Bergstrom.

Was it really because his work got criticised? Or was it because EC1 was poisonous? I can't imagine him saying "that place is poisonous; they don't like my work." Face it, Redux is... actually welcoming, and EC1 was actively hostile.

And before anyone goes defending the qualities of various hostile posters on EC1, yes yes, I know they're all very clever and worthy of respect for this this and this, but there's a reason I mostly lurked on that forum. I remember seeing all sorts of people show up and get scared off, and that's just not good for the community.

Well, not to jack this thread back to it's original point, but..

Also it is mentioned that she/he doesn't exalt anyone (or at least didn't at the beginning).
.. the one point that wasnt covered is that, as Gaia is responsible for the Great Elemental Dragons, who were in turn responsible for the Dragon-Blooded. So in effect, she is the patron of the DBs.
And as a side note, Neph is the man! :D :D

She's not so much "responsible for the Elemental Dragons" as she "is the Elemental Dragons", and vice versa.

Well thats an arguement for semantics, but my point was still valid.
