Who is more screwed: Abyssals or Infernals?

Creation's Exalted /are/ average. That's why the PCs are exceptional; because there's only 5 of them. Notice how the average group of PCs blows through challenges none of the various NPCs do?
Conversely, if there was only one Solar Exalt in the world, I'd expect him to be on the Scarlet Throne /right now/.


But making 10,000 Celestial Exalted makes them all faceless mooks. Creation's Exalts have the advantage of being too spread out to have that problem. Inverse Ninja Law. Don't they teach you kids anything?


Why did the 5 Maidens make only 100 Sidereals? And why do those 100 Sidereals currently rule the world?

It's the inverse ninja law: The more ninja there are on a given side, the weaker they are. A group of ninja are just mooks, but a single ninja is a dire threat.

The reasons the Sidereals are so factionalized, you see, is because they realize this.

What, the multiple factions becoming more powerful due to it no longer being 100 Sidereals versus Creation and it's ills, but 10 Silver Faction versus Creation, 50 Bronze Faction versus Creation, 30 Gold Faction versus Creation and all those little Independents versus Creation?

Having 10,000 celestial Exalts just means Auto has a bigger supply of Badass send out a few at a ttime, each group more powerful then the last. Just because he HAD 10,000 doesn't mean he'll use them all at once. Plus some of them are Super Fortress Macross! Also, the Inverse Ninja law is just a trick that the ninja's use the fool people. How do you think they get around so fast?

Come on dude. That plan of sending out your minions a few at a time in a progressively more powerful sequence doesn't work for video game bosses, and it won't work here.

While both can go on to become things far greater and more terrible than their patrons can be. I'll have to go with Abyssals. They're built with far far more restrictions on their nature than the GSP's are.

I still think that Abyssals have one giant way out of all their troubles: Living in the Underwold. They don't build Resonance for helping ghosts out, they don't have Essence respiration problems that require them to vamp the living, and it doesn't hurt Creation if they do end up venting Resonance in the Underworld.


Infernals, on the other hand, can never escape their Urge and therefore they must always take steps to forstall their Torment. Even in Malfeas, their Urge will continue to compell them to conquer Creation, destroy Lookshy, or become Creation's worst serial killer.

The Neverborn are crazy and slipping into and out of a hellish nightmare coma, Abyssals can actually get away with shit if they're smart and make a point of not encountering any figures of their dread patron's authority.


By contrast, the Yozis are EXCRUCIATINGLY aware of what's going on and were smart enough to ensure their servants can't get out of doing their jobs by making themselves supernaturally ugly and sleeping in a pine box for the duration of said ugly.

He means that the Abyssal can take Resonance in the right ways and not really have too many problems, I assume in this case he means Branding, and wait it out in a pine box. The Infernal can't do that. Of course they can maniacally torment Faeries and Demons and get things down themselves...

Bear in mind that Resonance is an intelligent trigger. The Neverborn don't say, 'oop, you're at 10 Resonance, time to fuck you'. They say 'oop, you're at 10 resonance and in the presence of people you care about, time to fuck you'. (At least, to my understanding).


And Infernal torment vents do not in any way stop you from being a good person. You just have to be awesome about it, rather than emo. Example from the internet:

Abyssals have a far, far harder time than Infernals trying to rebel. But the challenge is half the fun.
