Other Who do you main in Overwatch and why?

Or if you don't main a particular hero, what class do you usually play or have the most hours on?

I always let my entire team pick whoever they want because if I notice that I get less throwers that way and I can play many different characters. However, I have the most hours on Mercy, play Mercy the best, and usually have the most fun playing as her.

I just like feeling like I'm helping people, the strategy of healing which person first and when, who can be ignored for now, who to look out for, and where their positions are. It's like being the ultimate caretaker and I love to do it!

So, how about you all?

REAPER because EDGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Okay MAYBE I'm super invested in Gabriel Reyes and how he's been developed by the community--especially Apostapal, they're absolutely amazing

Also I just like flanking and obliterating the shit out of tanks. Getting in an enemy-infested corner and getting a team kill is pretty great too though

I used to main Tracer because the whole speed thing appealed to me, but I had a stint where I played really poorly as her, and thus my obsession was born. I play Mercy a lot on the side because the whole management thing is strangely enjoyable, and also my computer generally lags too much to do anything else at the moment. Even while lagging my ass off, though, I still heal like a boss!

That's awesome! The community really has contributed a lot to his character haven't they? :) I am the same way with Tracer, I did really bad for a while and now I'm too scared to play her anymore. lol It's cool that you can heal as well as you bring death. XD

My main--no, my life is Ana. I play Ana. I breathe Ana. I live to become the best Ana that ever existed in the known universe.

On a serious note, I enjoy the nomad granny for a plethora of reasons. Whether it be her backstory, her design, her character, or her incredibly demanding, rewarding, and flexible play-style, there's little about her that I really dislike. I could be crippling the enemy with a constant barrage of biotic grenades, sleep darts and pot-shots, actively unloading healing darts into the backs of my team and almost completely negating any damage they receive, or both, and I'd still be having fun.

And, unlike many other healers, a good Ana is almost ALWAYS greatly appreciated by their allies, so if you're performing incredibly well, you can probably guarantee that your teammates think highly of you.

Jeez, how long was I blabbering on for?

Not blabbering at all! I love hearing how passionate people are about the Overwatch characters they play! :) You're definitely right, a good Ana is a god send, even for another healer! I have a much easier time when there is a good Ana on my team, there are less deaths, more openings and it's just so great. Very hard to find a good Ana though so your team must be so happy to have you on their side! And yeah Ana is much more appreciated in general I think, as a Mercy main I get appreciation too, but people tend to be a bit too needy and think you can do everything when, especially if you are the sole healer, you can't the way they think you can. If they completely overextend for no reason, they expect me to fly over there and get myself killed to save them. XD

Yeah, the biggest advantage Ana has over Mercy is that she can heal from practically any range so long as you have the skill, which means she doesn't have to risk an arm and a leg just for a splinter of hope that her heal target might survive.
Doesn't make her any less stressful to play, though, especially on consoles. I could probably die of thirst just because of the intense dehydration sweating while playing Ana with a controller causes.

That's so true! I'm just so used to Mercy that I die far less when I play her than with any other character which is pretty funny to think about. It's so fun to actually kill someone as Mercy though, a great way to tilt the enemy team. XD

But I have such respect for Ana players, I have the aim and everything but it's so hard for me to not die because I get too lost in scoping or forget about positioning, or throw a grenade at the wrong time. I definitely need more practice because I really want to at least be decent with all of the supports you know?

You should try to sit a bit further back than where most casual Anas would position themselves. Try a standard Widow sniping spot with a clear view of your team yet not in direct line of sight of your enemies.

This spot, for example, is one I would highly recommend, though getting to it might take some extensive trial and error. You can get to it without any help from your allies (or enemies), but it's really tricky at first. Very rewarding once you manage it, however.

Oh! That's interesting, I never thought to play Ana a bit like Widow in that way. I will have to keep that in mind next time I'm practicing. I didn't even know Ana could go up there either, thanks for the tip! :)

No problem. Good luck with your healer ventures!

overall I have the most hours on D.Va but I wouldn't say I main anyone. though I've been playing mainly mystery heroes lately which I guess speaks for itself haha. in QP I would usually flex pick though, and in general I try to be halfway decent with at least one character in every class.

for offense I think I'm best with Soldier or maybe Sombra, but getting better and really into playing Tracer!
for defense definite hanzo main equally mediocre at all of them, but lately been pretty decent with the adorable devil spawn herself, Mei. it's super satisfying to get headshots with Widow too
for tanks, D.Va for sure, I can play an okay Zarya and Orisa I guess. I'm an awful Winston though
supports are probably my best class in general, I have a lot of hours on Lucio and Mercy, I'm getting to be a better Ana and Zen, and I'm great at holding down L click I'm not bad with Symm

I think I mostly play Ana, but I’ve been trying to get into Lucio and Orisa.
Ana because good damage, healing and general utility.
Lucio because Xx_play-makah_xX
And Orisa because half the time nobody picks a tank xP

Nice to meet a fellow flex player! I really want to get better at D.Va though, some days I'm awesome and other days I'm just terrible. Haha. But my favorite thing to do by far is to either push people off the cliff and fly back up or fly at people while shooting missiles at them. XD

I know right?! I usually pick Orisa when there is no tank because of her shield mostly, but yeah if it's not a missing support it's a tank. Haha

"Main" is probably a misnomer in my case. I backfill teams, which means I play a lot of Mercy and Reinhardt. Other healers or tanks too, depending on the map or objective, but those are my "neutral" so to speak.

enduringstoryteller enduringstoryteller whoo flex picking! I've always liked trying to be versatile, although it's usually been a "jack of all trades, master of none" situation for me haha. I guess that's why I like mystery heroes though!

it's super fun to fly around and push people as D.Va, I totally know what you mean! I want to get better at D.Va too, I think I do okay but I actually never really read up on the technical strategies and whatnot like I have with some other characters.

I like to play D.VA because aiming is very, very hard on the Xbox One. Or so I'm told.

Also it fulfills my tank tendencies, because as much as I value my life, the pixel people's health bar means nothing to me. Dying is a temporary setback.

I main Lùcio! I love playing support despite the hardships that come with it, and Lùcio first drew my attention because he was such a unique character. I mean, how often do you see fast rollerblading frog men who heal you with their music just by existing around you and can wall ride? Plus, his lore is pretty cool! I'd love to get more on him... @ Blizzard hurry up

It's also nice that I don't have to aim very well as Lùcio :p Overwatch was my first FPS game, and though I've gotten better, I still have... a lot to improve, to say the least. I'm mostly just expected to zoom around and heal people and be the only one on my entire team that actually cares about the objective. Lùcio is fun and I love maining him!

Moira, Tracer, Zarya, Widowmaker. I only play these four (and you can sprinkle in some Hanzo too); but I'm awful with Widow and Hanzo. I play quite well with Moira, and I like to be both aggressive and be able to cure; plus the orbs are the best? And I'm kinda bad at aiming so (not to mention my PC is not able to run it to the fullest so sometimes I'm stuck at 30 fps when there are like 4 people and it's super annoying!). I actually started when Moira was not still out, and tried to main Tracer, but it's still so difficult (and seriously, why do her pulsebombs also affect her? wtf?). And Zarya 'Onwards to Victory!'.

Junkrat, because I can spam my grenades and not have the whole team bitch at me about it.

When I first was playing in Beta i picked up on Widowmaker and Battle Mercy.

But Now I'm a Plat D.va main and I'm pretty happy.

I always loved playing Mercy because I like being able to jump from teammate to teammate with Guardian Angel and avoid bullets. I know a lot of people say she's a no skill character and no fun at all, but I don't care because I do have no skills and I am having fun with her. I also play a lot of D.Va, and recently I started to play Orisa for the shield because I am a terrible Reinhardt. But since Moira came out, I have been having the time of my life. I just love to suck the life out of the enemies to heal my allies and throw my orbs at the right angle to be the most effective. Also, I'm able to 1v1 almost anybody and get out of it with a win 80% of the time and it's pretty fun. I suck at every DPS, though. :Y

I'm a fill main, but if I had a choice, 9 times out of 10, I would go as McCree. Mostly just for those ting! sounds when I land a headshot. The flashbang is insanely useful for cancelling ults, as well.

In terms of other DPS, Soldier 76 is my try-hard one (i.e., used when I'm feeling very competitive and really want to win). Mobility, damage, healing: He's got everything. Tracer is my second try-hard character, but I'm still trying to git gud with her. If there's a lot of shields, I'm definitely going Junkrat. I also play Reaper on KOTH maps. Torb is such a babe on Lunar / Hanamura.; it's hilarious to just fuck around as him. I'll play Mei, Sombra or Hanzo from time to time just for variety. Genji, Pharah and Widowmaker I can never get used to. Doomfist has yet to show me the wae.

In terms of tanks, Reinhardt is my babe. I also usually try to go as Reinhardt when I'm feeling very competitive, mostly as there's a lack of assertive tanks in low-to-mid elo. I can use pretty much any and all tanks except for Roadhog. Maybe I just haven't spent enough time with him.

In terms of supports, Zen and Ana are my go-to. Zen is my favourite because I'm almost guaranteed a card, and sometimes I get to really steal the show. It's harder to do with Ana. My win-rate with Moira is abysmal, and I don't know why. I find Mercy too boring, and I'll pick her up just to fuck around (boost a Hanzo or something). Lucio is great for the boopy maps, of course. Symm's ehhh.
