POV - Roman Marsh[ICODE][/ICODE]all
Roman's cheeks continue to stay flushed as they sit there, pouting lightheartedly. Auriela knew exactly what she was doing. She was just trying to get under their skin now. Roman huffs as they continue to look at her with their soft blue eyes. "Don't be silly. What if someone walks in right now?" Roman's butterflies still don't seem to dissipate as the exchange continues to move forward. Auriela's dragging this out on purpose.

Roman knows she's up to something. It was obvious at this point. But the level of bashfulness they were feeling was preventing them from thinking straight. All they could really do was just sit there, anticipating what her next move was going to be. "Aren't you going to finish your cocoa," Roman said as they continue to grow antsy from this prolonging moment between the two of them.
POV- Auriela Hale
Aurie let out a soft giggle, her eyes flitting eagerly to the door and then back to their light blue eyes, a hint of mischief dancing in her expression. "So what if someone sees us?" she mused, glancing at the empty street outside, the quiet of the town enveloping them like a warm blanket. "Besides, the town already thinks we're something," she added, her voice a mix of playfulness and sincerity as she locked her gaze with theirs, feeling a flutter in her chest. "Besides," she added with a flirtatious smile, pulling back just enough to see their reaction, "I can always reheat the cocoa."

With a teasing twist of her arms behind their neck, she intertwined her fingers, feeling the warmth of their skin beneath her touch. Leaning in closer, she could sense their shyness, the way their cheeks flushed and their breath hitched slightly, making her heart race even more. It was this bashfulness that made each moment feel special, igniting a spark of excitement within her. As she pressed her lips gently against theirs, she felt a rush of affection wash over her, a mix of tenderness and exhilaration. In that fleeting moment, all her worries faded away, leaving only the sweetness of their connection.

POV - Roman Marshall
The warm touch of Auriela's hands on the back of Roman's neck is oddly comforting to them. Her mischievous demeanor seems to never end as this moment between them continues. Roman's face remains warm as they keep all of their focus on the beautiful but devilish woman right in front of them. Her words seem to cause them to grow more flustered as they try to respond. "I-I, um-" Roman, however, is then immediately cut off by Auriela's lips meeting theirs.

The kiss sends a jolt of electricity through Roman as their eyes go fully wide, and their face becomes a complete shade of red. This woman was trying to kill them, it seems. Roman, being ace, is not really one for scandalous or explicit acts. Though that never meant that they couldn't appreciate love and affection. And Auriela seemed to know that about them.

It feels like time stops, everything else fading until it's just these two. Roman goes completely still for a moment, having gotten caught off guard by this sudden action. They were stunned to say the least. But they did not reject it. Instead, Roman lets themself relax into this kiss, enjoying this soft moment between them and Auriela. Even though they were the ones who were supposed to be keeping her out of trouble, she always seemed to wrap them into trouble themself.

POV- Auriela Hale
Auriela pulled away from the kiss, her heart fluttering wildly in her chest, a delightful rush of warmth spreading through her. She gazed into their eyes, a gentle smile blooming on her lips as she slowly turned her face away, reluctant to break the moment. "You’re absolutely adorable when you’re flustered," she said softly, her voice playful yet laced with tenderness.

Taking a moment to appreciate the way their cheeks flushed and their expression turned shy, Auriela felt a spark of joy. She knew them well—their personality, their quirks—and she was acutely aware of her own limits. As she looked them over with a fond gaze, she couldn’t help but chuckle softly. “You still have those soft, sweet lips,” she teased, her laughter like a gentle melody in the air.

With a playful glint in her eyes, she settled back down beside them, the warmth of their shared moment lingering in the space between them. Reaching for her hot cocoa, she wrapped her fingers around the warm mug, savoring the comforting heat. As she took a sip, she glanced back at them, her expression shifting to a soft pout. “How much longer until you can close up?” she asked, her tone playful yet filled with a hint of longing, eager for more time together before heading to the party. The thought of their shared adventure ahead made her heart race with excitement.

POV - Roman Marshall
Roman was silent as they blinked in response, still taking a moment to process what just happened. Their face was still on fire from the display of affection they just received from Auriela. Their heart was practically thudding against their chest. As Auriela's voice snaps them out of their trance, they bring their attention back to her. The way she can be so playful yet so soft made Roman feel all warm.

They pouted a bit when she went back to teasing them. How dare she use such cunning tactics like that? "You're too much." As they go back to enjoying their hot cocoa, Roman tries to settle themselves down, slowly returning back to normal from that intimate moment between the two of them. When they hear Auriela's question they scratch behind their head while looking away hesitantly. "Well..."

Just then, Roman's phone starts ringing in their pocket, cutting through the peaceful exchange. They pause before pulling it out of their pocket to answer, clearing their throat and collecting themselves to sound as normal as possible. "Um, hello? Oh, hi, sir. Mhm. No, everything's fine in here. Yes, I'm still here. Mhm? Oh! Are you sure? Alright, then. Thank you, sir. Have a good night. I'll see you tomorrow. Buh-bye!"

After that conversation, Roman hangs up the phone, taking a breath before looking over at Auriela with a soft and playful smile. "Well, looks like we're in luck. My boss says he's not gonna be coming back because of something coming up. So, he said I'm free to close up the library and head home now."

POV- Auriela Hale
Aurie watched as they stumbled over their words, a playful smile curling on her lips. When their phone rang, she leaned back, allowing them to take the call. The soft crackle of the fireplace filled the room, casting a warm glow that danced over the walls, while flickering candles added their gentle light, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The twinkling Christmas lights strung around the room sparkled like stars, enhancing the intimate ambiance.

As she listened, her excitement bubbled over when she heard they could indeed close up for the night. Her demeanor shifted to one of mischief and giddy anticipation. "Finally," she said, drawing the word out slowly, feigning impatience. In reality, she was thrilled to have this rare moment alone with Roman—a luxury they seldom experienced amidst the chaos of the parties she often dragged them to, where the noise and crowds made it hard to connect.

"What can I do to help?" she asked, her hazel eyes softening as she glanced around the room, taking in the familiar surroundings illuminated by the flickering lights. Although she adored the idea of a party and recalled her promise not to drink, she felt an irresistible urge to assist Roman in closing up. It was different with them; she genuinely wanted to be close, to share this intimate space and time together, rather than just pulling them into another social gathering where she felt free to unwind while they enjoyed the atmosphere without indulging in the drinks.

POV - Roman Marshall
Roman chuckled at Auriela's shift in demeanor. They always found it funny when she was being dramatic. They were really glad that she was here with them right now. As wild as she could be, she could make even the dullest of moments fun. Though, as much as Roman wouldn't mind just sitting here with her for the rest of the night, they knew how excited she was to get outta here and go party the night away together. So Roman stood up and stretched before smiling down at Auriela with a hint of amusement. "It's alright. I just need to clean all this up and we can head on out. Don't worry, I won't take long."

With that, Roman gets to it. Taking the trays and cups from their date and bringing it to the back to wash them and put them up. Roman hums to themself as they think back on everything that just went down. What a turn of events. They can feel their cheeks heating up again from just thinking back to the kiss with Auriela. But they couldn't help but wonder about what she had said earlier. Does everyone know about their relationship. Roman knew it wasn't subtle, but they didn't realize they were THAT obvious. Guess they're not as inconspicuous as they thought.

Once they're done, Roman heads back to finish tidying things up around the place before they leave. Blowing out the candles and turning off the lamps and Christmas lights on the walls and the tree. They then look over and see the book that they never got to put away. Roman grabbed it and walked it over to the shelf. They lifted it up but paused before glancing back at Auriela. Roman then smirks to themself as they decide to be cheeky and get back at Auriela for all that teasing and flirting. "Hmm, wait. Where does this one go again? I thought this was the right shelf, but I don't know." Roman pretends to question themself out loud, pretending to be taking long to finish up because they can't remember where the book goes, trying to decipher where they should put it. They then look down at the book in their hands with faux fascination. "What was this one even about again? Maybe I can just read a little bit to remind myself," they say as they start flipping through the pages.

POV- Auriela Hale

Aurie couldn't help but roll her eyes in playful exasperation as she watched her partners meander through the aisles, seemingly oblivious to the passage of time. The soft sigh that escaped her lips mingled annoyance with affection. "Romiiii Beaarrr," she called out, her voice laced with flirtation, the exaggerated pronunciation of their name rolling off her tongue like a teasing melody.

As much as she loved to poke fun at them for their leisurely pace, a smile danced across her lips, revealing the warmth of her feelings. There was something undeniably charming about their antics, and she reveled in the playful banter they shared. She glanced around the cozy bookstore, the scent of aged paper and fresh ink enveloping her like a comforting embrace. Shelves lined with books created a labyrinth of stories waiting to be explored, yet her focus remained fixed on her partners, who were still taking their sweet time.

"I swear, if you start reading, that book won't be in your hands for long," she teased, her tone light and flirtatious as she effortlessly glided to their side, positioning herself next to them by the towering bookshelf. Her heart swelled with affection at the sight of their engrossed expressions, lost in the pages of a book that had captured their attention.

In that moment, Aurie felt an irresistible pull toward them. She was the life of the party, often carefree, flitting from one social gathering to another, while they embodied reliability and responsibility. Where she thrived in spontaneity and flirtation, they provided the structure that grounded her, their dependable nature a perfect complement to her lively spirit. Yet, in their presence, she felt an undeniable sense of safety and acceptance, as though she could let her guard down without fear of judgment. They made her feel like she wasn't just a whimsical soul to be tamed, but rather a cherished partner who belonged in their delightful world of love, laughter, and responsibility.

POV- Lawson Hale
Location: Common area
1000013113.jpg

As Lawson stepped out into the common area of the town, the scene before him was transformed by the magic of the Christmas season. The air was crisp and filled with the invigorating scent of pine and cinnamon, a sure sign that the holidays were upon them. Twinkling lights adorned the storefronts, casting a warm, cheerful glow that danced across the cobblestone path. Wreaths made of fresh evergreen and bright red bows decorated the doors, creating a festive atmosphere that surrounded him like a cozy blanket.

It was late afternoon, and the sun hung low in the sky, casting a golden hue that mingled beautifully with the vibrant colors of the holiday decorations. Lawson held a steaming cup of coffee in his stainless steel mug, the warmth seeping into his hands as he took a moment to enjoy the scenery around him. Children bundled in colorful scarves and mittens dashed about, their laughter ringing through the air as they built snowmen and engaged in friendly snowball fights. The sound of holiday music floated on the breeze, adding to the joyful ambiance of the town.

As he walked, Lawson offered nods of acknowledgment to the locals he passed, their faces illuminated by the festive lights. Although he often appeared a bit rough around the edges as the constable, he felt a sense of belonging in this close-knit community that came alive during the holidays. Beneath his tough exterior was a heartfelt desire for the welfare and happiness of his beloved town, especially during this special time of year.

However, as Lawson enjoyed the festive cheer, his mind was clouded with a mix of fluster and frustration concerning his daughter. The late-night parties she had been attending gnawed at him, filling him with concern. He couldn't quite understand why she chose to immerse herself in that lifestyle, but he took comfort in knowing she had a strong role model guiding her through the complexities of her teenage years.

The sound of laughter and chatter filled the air as he strolled further, the warmth of the coffee in his hand contrasting with the cool evening sky, now painted with the first hints of twilight. He had learned long ago that engaging with town gossip was a slippery slope, so he chose to ignore the whispers that floated around him. Instead, he paused for a moment to take in the enchanting scenery: the storefronts adorned with garlands and ornaments, the flickering candles in the windows, and the townsfolk gathering for the annual tree lighting ceremony.

With a deep breath, Lawson took a sip of his coffee, savoring its rich aroma as he gazed around at the beautiful ambiance of the holiday season. For just a second, he allowed himself to appreciate the joy and warmth radiating from the town, even as his thoughts continued to swirl with concern for his daughter amidst the festive backdrop of Christmas.

Roman chuckled as they stood there holding the book in their hands. It was fun having playful banter with Auriela. They smiled as she came over with that teasing and flirty demeanor of hers. It was always nice to see her having fun. Roman could feel the giddiness within them rising, but they held their ground and continued their antics. They look over at her while keeping up their act, still putting on their oblivious tone. "Are you sure, Aurie? This one seems like a fascinating read. What's a few hours or so?"

Roman laughs to themself before closing the book. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I'll put it back." Roman then reaches up to put the book back, pretending to not quite be able to reach the shelf that it's meant to be on, despite their height. "Just...gotta...reach it." It was clear that Roman was still just playing around. But they couldn't help it. Auriela's playful nature was always infectious, which made it all the more fun to be a part of.

Aurie rolled her eyes dramatically at their playful giggling, a teasing smile dancing on her lips. "Rommykins," she said, her voice a blend of sternness and seduction, as her hand reached out toward them with a graceful flourish. "Just put it on the shelf... I still need to dress you." The way she emphasized "dress" was laced with a hint of mischief, suggesting she intended to stretch the limits of their usual attire, perhaps even daring them to embrace something bolder.

Her grin widened, revealing a spark of excitement, as she watched them feign a struggle to reach the shelf, their fingers just barely grazing its edge despite their height. The scene was almost comical, yet it filled her with warmth. Aurie relished every moment spent with them, savoring the ease with which they could be their true selves in her presence, unguarded and free-spirited. The atmosphere crackled with playful energy, and she couldn’t help but feel a sense of joy in the shared camaraderie.

Jupiter Khaing

J
upiter Khaing stood in the small, rustic lobby of Revelstoke Mountain Lodge, his suitcase sitting at his feet, as he checked in with a barely concealed scowl. The scent of pine and fresh mountain air didn’t quite manage to lift his mood. The last thing he wanted to do was play nice and pretend this trip was anything but a forced attempt at mending the cracks in his family’s fractured relationship. It wasn’t his fault things had gotten this bad between him and Atlas. They both had their reasons—reasons he wasn’t eager to confront, not with their parents breathing down their necks, pushing for some "healing" vacation in the middle of nowhere.

His eyes darted to the clock on the wall. Of course Atlas wasn’t here yet. His brother had always been the one who managed to drift through life effortlessly, while Jupiter got stuck with the mess of it all. He wanted to roll his eyes, but instead, he took his key and walked toward the stairs, ignoring the reception desk staff’s overly friendly chatter.

All Jupiter wanted right now was to shed the grime of the airport from his skin. A hot shower, a few moments of silence, and a bed he didn’t have to share with Atlas would be a start. He climbed the stairs, the weight of his frustration settling heavier on his shoulders with each step. At least the quiet of the lodge would give him some space and maybe, just maybe, a break from everyone’s expectations, so that he could breathe.

POV- Isabelle Everhart
1000012735.jpg

After what felt like an eternity stuck at the airport, Belle finally stepped out into the crisp, wintry air of Revelstoke. The long flight had left her feeling drained, her body heavy with fatigue as she navigated the bustling terminal. All she could think about was the warmth and comfort of the lodge waiting for her, a sanctuary from the stress of travel. She was filled with excitement, eager to surprise her best friend, with whom she had shared countless memories since childhood.

As she approached the lodge, her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions, making it hard to focus on anything else. She barely registered the friendly face handing her the key, offering a polite "thank you" as she took it, her thoughts still swirling in anticipation. It was as if she were walking through a dream, caught between the excitement of reunion and the exhaustion from her journey.

Climbing the stairs to her room, Belle's vibrant red hair fell in soft waves around her shoulders, a stark contrast to the wintry backdrop. Unfortunately, her outfit did not match the festive atmosphere of the season; a snug black dress that hugged her figure in all the right places was cut a bit too short for the frigid climate. She shivered slightly as a cold breeze seeped through the fabric, reminding her that she had definitely misjudged the weather for this Christmas getaway.

Finally reaching her room, she swiped the key card, her fingers trembling slightly from the chill. With a soft click, the door swung open, and Belle stepped inside. She paused for a moment, taking in the cozy décor meant to evoke warmth and holiday cheer. After placing her bag down by the door, she took a deep breath, letting the exhaustion from her journey wash over her. She could feel the thrill of anticipation building within her; this was finally the moment she had been waiting for.

A
s soon as Jupiter entered the room, which, to his surprise, was much nicer than he had expected from the quaint lodge, he dropped his suitcase beside the bed and made a beeline for the bathroom. He couldn’t wait to wash away the lingering discomfort from the airport. Stepping into the hot water, he sighed in contentment, letting the steam and heat melt away his stress.

That was the plan, anyway—until he heard the sound of a door opening and closing from beyond the bathroom. He paused, confused, wondering if he’d imagined it. But as he listened more closely, he could definitely hear movement in the room.

Normally, this would’ve raised alarm bells, but in Jupiter’s mind, he quickly crafted a plausible explanation. It had to be his brother, right? Probably planning to do something ridiculous, like jumping out to surprise him as he left the bathroom.

Irritation simmered beneath his skin. He shut off the water, the calming effect suddenly gone, and grabbed a towel to wrap around his waist. In a huff, he threw open the bathroom door.

But the person standing on the other side was not his brother.

But it was someone he recognized.

As his eyes met the woman’s surprised expression, his gaze involuntarily swept over her features and form. And then—suddenly—the worst date of his life came crashing back into his memory. The bird that pooped on his head at the start, the monkey that ripped the sleeve of his favorite shirt, the ridiculous chase after a mascot that stole his date, red wine spilled all over his already ruined outfit and, to top it all off, her accidental headbutt that left him with a bleeding nose.

Before he could even process what was happening, his arm shot out, pointing at the redhead in front of him, eyes wide with shock and disbelief.

"YOU!"

POV- Isabelle Everhart
As Belle ventured deeper into the lodge room, she noticed a suitcase that seemed oddly out of place, its presence stirring her curiosity. Just then, she heard the bathroom door creak open, and her jaw dropped in disbelief as a man emerged, wrapped only in a towel. The sight of him sent a jolt of recognition through her, and the realization hit her like a tidal wave. His voice, casual and familiar, sent her spiraling back to the memory of the worst blind date she had ever endured.

Belle's mind flashed back to that fateful day at the zoo, when a playful mascot had suddenly scooped her up and dashed away, leaving her flustered and helpless as she watched her date scramble after them, embarrassed and bewildered. To make matters worse, he had ordered a glass of red wine that was so atrocious she couldn’t help but spit it out all over him, resulting in a moment of pure embarrassment. Throughout the dinner, he had awkwardly placed a menu on the table between them, using it as a shield to hide his face and avoid her gaze. The evening took another embarrassing turn when she dropped her fork; they both reached for it at the same time, only to bump heads, creating a clumsy moment that would haunt her for weeks.

Now, standing in the lodge room, all Belle wanted was to escape and bury the memory of that disastrous date. Yet, despite her overwhelming desire to flee, she couldn’t deny that he looked good—his towel clinging to him in a way that highlighted his physique, and the air around him radiating confidence. Stunned into silence, she managed to gasp, "Did you follow me?" as shock and confusion washed over her, leaving her momentarily at a loss for words.

upiter’s breath hitched as his mind scrambled to make sense of what was happening. His body instinctively moved, his arm coming up to cover his chest, as if he could somehow hide behind it—though he wasn’t sure why. It was just a knee-jerk reaction, a mix of discomfort and an overwhelming need to shield himself from the situation, even though he knew it made no sense.

His eyes narrowed as they locked on Isabelle, he thought he remembered that as her name, and the shock began to shift into irritation. Of course she was here. Of course this was happening. He had hoped for a quiet, uneventful stay, but instead, he was faced with the ghost of one of the most humiliating experiences of his life. His grip tightened around the towel, and his voice was sharper than he intended when he spoke.

"You’ve got to be kidding me,"
he muttered, almost under his breath, but loud enough for her to hear. His gaze flicked over her quickly, then back to the floor, his frustration bubbling up.
"Follow you?"
he repeated, almost laughing at the absurdity of it. He took a deep breath, trying to regain some composure.
"You think I followed you?"
His hand gestured helplessly, and he almost chuckled.
"Believe me, if I had known you’d be here, I would’ve stayed far, far away."

His jaw clenched as he stepped back slightly, as if trying to distance himself further from the awkwardness of the situation. But he didn't retreat into the bathroom, instead he squared his shoulders, standing his ground despite the fact that he was in nothing but a towel.
"Look,"
he said, his voice cool but edged with irritation,
"I don’t know how you got in here, but you need to get out of my room. Now."
His eyes were locked on hers, firm and unwavering, as if he could force the situation to resolve just by sheer will.

POV- Isabelle Everhart
Belle couldn't help but let out a genuine laugh, the sound bursting forth from her as if it were a reflex against the absurdity of the situation. "You must have done your research before that date," she said, her voice dripping with disdain as she emphasized the word "date." A shiver of revulsion ran through her at the memory of that night, so painfully awkward and utterly terrible that she prayed she would never have to relive it. "You had to know this is my birthplace," she continued, her eyes darting back and forth, searching for answers, trying to unravel the tangled web of confusion that surrounded her.

"Me? Leave!?" The frustration in her voice was fierce, a fire igniting within her. "My key opened the door," she declared, shaking the little card in her hands like a badge of defiance. Anger coursed through her veins at his blatant rudeness, the way he carried himself as if he were somehow superior to her. She locked her stormy gray eyes onto his, feeling the intensity of their connection. Tonight, she had opted to forgo her usual brown contacts, leaving her natural gaze vulnerable and unmasked. As much as she longed to escape his presence, she refused to allow him to diminish her worth, standing her ground against being treated like she was nothing.

TALISA SKY
It'd been years since she was last in Revelstoke. While she loved her family and her sister, there were too many things in Vancouver holding her back from going to visit the town she grew up going to. Life on the reservation had been much much different to the city life her dad was able to provide for her. She got to experience the small fame he had introduced her to. With modelling, it was nearly impossible to go "home".

But, here she was. In Revelstoke, her eyes wandering up and down the snowy streets and the decorations that brightened up the Christmas spirit of the town. It was much different than the hustle and bustle of the city. Everyone seemed so much friendlier. Happier. People she didn't even know were greeting her in the streets. She'd even gotten a few offers to help her lug her suitcase up to The Lodge. But, she didn't want to burden anyone, and she quite enjoyed this walk. She'd even stopped to get herself a hot chocolate and cookie.

What she didn't expect though, was for that hot chocolate to be dumped down the front of her vest and soaked through right down to her bone. The hot drink froze quickly, and soon she began shivering, "I-" She was at a loss for words. The perfect day was quickly turning miserable. Maybe she would have to call a cab because she was freezing now. "This is cashmere." She grumbled quietly, looking down at the soaked sweater and vest, not even looking up at the man just yet. She wasn't usually the type to act this spoiled, but she was cold and covered in a chocolatey drink.

Finally, she looked up at the man and all her complaints stopped and her scowl disappeared. The man she once had a huge crush on, when her dad brought her to Revelstoke for work and would ditch with a babysitter - this babysitter- was the one who dumped her hot chocolate down her shirt, "Lawson... Hi." She said, her tone turning shy and her face turning bright red. "It's nice to see you..."

ELOWEN WINTERS
Elowen hated the Christmas season. The Lodge, which was usually slow all spring and fall, was now packed with Holidayers and snow sports people. She never understood the fun in strapping on some sort of plastic board to the feet and sliding down a hill. Couldn't people just do that anywhere with a sled? Why did they need a fancy board? And why did they need to do it around Christmas?

Anyway, the surplus of vacationers was giving her a head ache. Every day the hotel she called a home was packed to the brim and loud with all the people. She hated it. Absolutely hated it. Normally her dad would let her jet off to somewhere warm for the winter, but because of some saving he's had to do, she wasn't allowed to go on his dime. And of course, she had no money of her own.

"Elowen, stop complaining, winter is not that bad." Her dad hummed as he put away her groceries for her. The two didn't have the best relationship, but with him running such a successful lodge, everything she ever wanted had always been handed to her on a silver platter. It wasn't something she should complain about but with his busy schedule it was hard to keep herself entertained, especially around the holidays. "I know, it's just so busy here. It's a bit claustrophobic." They'd already had this conversation, and everytime she suggested leaving for the winter he told her no.

So here she was, entertaining herself the best she could. Which mostly meant bothering the other employees of the hotel. Or, if it was late enough, taking a stroll into town to go clubbing. But it was only noon and the first day of the festival of lights. So the club would be dead anyway. Tormenting the employees was the next best thing. And her first victim? Brandon. He was always so overwhelmed talking to her. But, he was probably the cutest employee her dad has ever hired. So, he was the most fun.

"Oh Brandonnnn?" She approached the front desk in a sing song tone, resting her elbows on the front desk as she very obviously checked him out, "that's a nice suit. Is it new?" She asked, tilting her head a bit as her eyes finally wandered back up to his face. He truly was a beautiful man. "So, what’s the plan for today?” she asked, trying to keep the banter going. “Are you going to be buried under paperwork all day, or do you have any exciting plans? Maybe you’ll run into a cute girl and sweep her off her feet?” She couldn't help the hinting lilt to her tone, "Oh! Do you like my outfit?" She asked, taking a few steps away from the desk and giving him a little spin, "festive don't you think?"

upiter ran a hand through his hair, the other gripping the knot of his towel a little tighter as he tried to keep his cool in this absurd situation.
"I—"
he started, then stopped, his words caught somewhere between frustration and disbelief. He let out a short, incredulous laugh, shaking his head.
"You’ve got to be kidding me. This is your birthplace? Seriously?"
The words left his mouth, a mix of exasperation and the kind of disbelief that made him wonder if the universe was playing some cruel joke on him.

He took a step back, still processing how this whole thing could even be real, then gestured weakly at the room.
"I didn’t follow you. I didn’t even know you were here,"
he said, his voice slow and clear, but heavy with irritation.
"I’m not exactly looking for a repeat of that disaster of a date."
He muttered under his breath, a shiver running through him at the memory of it.
"Look, your key might have opened the door, but I was clearly in here first. Therefore... it’s my room. Understand?"

His eyes flicked down to the key she was waving like some kind of victory trophy, his expression twisting into something between disbelief and annoyance.
"If your key works, and you’re not some weird stalker, then clearly someone made a mistake. But,"
he sighed, rubbing his temples,
"either way, I was here first, so... you need to go."

His gaze met hers, the irritation still clear in his dark eyes.
"You sure know how to ruin a guy’s peaceful stay, don't you?"

POV- Lawson Hale
Lawson felt a sudden warmth on his arm, a sensation that momentarily pulled him from his thoughts. He looked down, initially puzzled, until the image of Tali registered in his mind. It took a moment for recognition to settle in, but her familiar voice broke through the haze. “Oh wow,” he exclaimed, surprise mingling with concern. “Hey, are you okay?”

His instincts kicked in as he noticed the hot chocolate that had spilled all over her clothes, the liquid now beginning to freeze in the brisk air. Quickly, he removed his coat and wrapped it around her shoulders, hoping to shield her from the cold and provide some comfort. The warmth of the fabric contrasted sharply with the chill settling on her clothes, but it was clear that more needed to be done.

As he stepped back to assess the situation, his gaze flickered around the bustling scene. People were hurrying to their cars and finishing up the last touches on the common area decorations, the festive atmosphere standing in stark contrast to the urgency he felt for her.

His attention shifted back to Tali, and he noticed the bags she was carrying. His eyebrows shot up in surprise, a mix of concern and curiosity etched on his face. “Why are you walking around with luggage?” he asked, his voice firm yet laced with undeniable care. The question lingered in the air, and for a moment, the noise of the crowd faded into the background as he locked eyes with her, searching for answers.

He shook his head slightly, trying to dispel the flood of thoughts that rushed in. It felt wrong, he told himself, to see her in this situation, the way she looked. After all, he had once babysat her, and the memories of her as a child loomed large in his mind. His protective instincts flared up, and he felt a mix of nostalgia and worry.

“It’s really nice to see you again, kid,” he finally said, a softer tone creeping into his voice. “You’ve grown a lot since the last time I saw you.” As he spoke, he couldn’t help but marvel at how much she had changed, both physically and in the aura she carried. The little girl he once knew was gone, replaced by a young woman facing the world on her own terms.

POV- Auriela Hale

POV - Roman Marshall
Roman jolted as they felt a playful jab to their side, causing them to barely stifle a laugh as they curl up instinctively. They let out a playful chuckle, rubbing their side sheepishly. "Okay, okay! I'm done." Roman smiled to themself at Auriela's mischievous smile and tone. It was always funny to get a rise out of her. She had this infectious energy that never failed to sweeten these moments between them.

Roman then lifted the book back up and placed it on the shelf where it belonged. They then looked back down at Auriela with their soft smile. "Right. I know how eager you are to bring me someplace else." They walked over to the desk where their coat and hat were, grabbing them to put them on for their venture out into the snowy evening. They get themselves dressed before going over to the chair with Auriela's coat and bringing it over to her. Roman walks over to her smiling as they help her put on her coat, giving her a playful look and tone. "You're so impatient, you know that?"

1000012735.jpg
Stunned by his comments, she let out an exaggerated sigh, the kind that could fill a room with disbelief. "Oh my God," she exclaimed, her voice dripping with incredulity. "I can't believe my friends actually set me up on a blind date with someone like you." The words hung in the air, heavy with her frustration. She was utterly infuriated by his cockiness, which seemed to radiate from him effortlessly, as if he had no idea how irritating it was.

Clenching her arms tightly against her chest, she planted her foot firmly on the ground, a silent declaration of her resolve. Her gaze was locked onto his, her usually light gray eyes darkening with intensity as she took a deliberate step closer, shrinking the space between them. "Well, it's not my fault the key worked," she shot back, her voice sharp and challenging.

Inside, her mind was racing a mile a minute, a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions colliding. How could he be so insufferable? Why did her friends think this was a good idea? And to add to the chaos, the sight of him standing there in nothing but a towel was stirring feelings within her that she desperately wanted to suppress. It felt like her body was betraying her, responding in ways she wasn’t prepared to acknowledge, and she was determined not to let that happen. She needed to maintain control, to remind herself that she was not here to be swept off her feet by his arrogance, no matter how charming he might be. Instead, she focused on the annoyance bubbling within her, using it as armor against the undeniable attraction that flickered in the air between them.

POV- Auriela Hale
1000012074.jpg

Auriela playfully rolled her hazel-green eyes, a flirtatious glint shimmering within them as she looked up at Roman. Effortlessly, she glided her arms into the coat they had helped her put on, a soft smile spreading across her face that illuminated her features. “I wouldn’t call it impatience, Romi Bear; more like a thirst for adventure and a love for staying on the move,” she teased, her voice laced with flirtation, each word dripping with charm.

Once she was snug in her coat, she turned to them, her gaze locking onto their striking light blue eyes, which sparkled with intrigue and warmth. She took their hand in hers, giving it a playful squeeze that sent a delightful thrill coursing through her. “Come on, come on!” she urged, her tone bubbling with youthful exuberance, the kind that made the air around them feel electric.

As she looked back over her shoulder, she tossed Roman a playful air kiss, her face alight with mischief and excitement. The anticipation of continuing their night together made her heart race. She was eager to dive into the next part of their adventure and dance, feeling the music pulse through her. With them by her side, she was more than ready to lose herself in the rhythm, embracing the joy of the moment and the connection they shared.

POV - Roman Marshall
Roman can feel themself blushing again as they let out a soft sigh, ready for a night full of thrill with their fun-loving partner. They take one final glance around the place, making sure that everything was in order before they closed up. Afterwards, Roman follows Auriela out the door, switching off the lights on their way out. The cold, icy air hits their face as they walk out. A stark contrast to the warm and cozy atmosphere inside of the library. Though it's not anything Roman isn't used to by now. They grew up here after all. And in their opinion, the winter can be quite beautiful, especially at night. Though they didn't wanna keep Auriela out here in the cold for too long.

They lock up the doors with their key, before putting it in their pocket. Afterwards, they turn their attentiom back to Auriela, seeing the excitement in those shiny hazel-green eyes of hers. It always made them happy to see her having fun, which is exactly what they were hoping to do for her tonight. They give her an amused smile as they look down at her, putting their hands in their pocket. "Alright. My attention is all yours now. Where to now?"

POV- Auriela Hale
Aurie stepped out into the biting cold, feeling the chill seep through her skin as it hit her instantly. Even though she had grown accustomed to this wintry weather, she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of regret for choosing to wear a dress without any tights or leggings underneath. The brisk air was sharper than she had anticipated, and she instinctively pulled her luxurious white fur coat closer around her, trying to shield herself from the cold. A slight shiver ran through her, but she quickly brushed it off, determined to enjoy the evening.

With a playful glint in her eyes, she turned to her partner, Roman, and teased, "As if your attention wasn’t all mine earlier." Her giggle danced in the air, lighthearted and full of warmth despite the chill surrounding them.

As she spoke, Roman flashed her a smile that seemed to light up the dreary winter night. In that moment, Aurie felt her heart flutter faster, as if it were trying to keep pace with the warmth spreading through her. Their smile always had that effect on her, igniting a spark of joy that made the cold seem far less daunting.

Glancing around at the dimly lit streets, Aurie continued, "We have a couple of options. We could head back to your house to grab your clothes, or we could see if any shops are still open for some last-minute shopping. Or, if you prefer, we could skip all that and head straight to the party." She paused for a moment, gauging their reaction, her breath visible in the cold air.

As she awaited their decision, she shifted her weight from one foot to the other, trying to keep herself warm while still maintaining her playful demeanor. The excitement of the night ahead mingled with the crispness of the air, and with Roman's smile still lingering in her mind, she felt a flutter of anticipation for the decision they make.
