Fantasy Whisper Wood (A fantasy adventure rp)

Azure walked behind the group, keeping a hand on the hilt of her sword. The things stumbled over roots and branches, as if they had never been in a forest, but each time, Azure reached out to steady them.

Numi trotted along to follow, and decided to kill some time nipping at the heels of the beasts, and thinking it may make them go faster. She decided to stop when one of them almost fell and she received a hard look from Damian. She let out a soft growl of annoyment, but stopped messing with the odd beasts and just continued to follow them while going up to trot next to Seera.

"Are you two leaving again?"

A woman sat in an armchair, her icy blue eyes burning with an intense emotion of disappointment. She stared at two individuals near the doors of her room, watching carefully. Nathalia stood next to her brother, staring calmly at their mother who gazed with disgust at the dark, disturbing looking boy.

"We'll be back soon." Nathalia responded softly in an angelic voice. Their mother looked displeased, but motioned with her hand for them to leave. They left without another word, and headed towards the village.

"Mother still doesn't love me, does she?" Zero suddenly asked as they were walking. Nathalia glanced over to him, and frowned worriedly when she saw his blind eyes fill to the brim with tears.

"She does love you... in her own way. I promise you." Her delicate hand wrapped around his and squeezed it comfortingly. Zero sniffled, and wiped his tears away with the back of his hand. He nodded, trusting his sister and her kind words. When they had reached the village, curious and disgusted eyes wandered towards Zero. Nathalia stood by him closely, her hand leading him forward as they headed for the marketplace.

Seera walked beside them as the small group walked through the village. She turned her gaze on a duo walking through the street, one obviously nobility, the other, something else. "Hey Damian. Look at him." She pointed to the dark skinned boy. "What is he?"

Lila moved slightly away from the group, but she didnt mean to. She strayed farther and farther away, until she smacked into someone. She could see a little bit through her blindfold, and she noticed it was two people, who seemed to be complete opposites. One was a girl, pure and white, and the other was a boy, dark and blind. She stumbled back and gasped.

Damian looked toward the two just as Lila smacked into them. He growled loudly, "they are like babies." He mutters. They needed to hurry to get to the queen, it was bad that one of them seemed dead, they didn't need another one to come in actually deceased. He set the injured female down, before quickly shifting. He was large, incredibly large in his form. He kneels down slightly, "put them on my back, will you please." He politely says to Seera and Numi.

The wind ruffled his silky black fur, and carried the scent of the ocean. The scent of these.. babies.. was different, yet something odd bubbled inside him whenever he met his gaze with the female who smelt of coconut, and hear didn't like it.

Seera hoisted the mortals on to Damian's back. "There ya go." She again pointed to the blind boy. "Do you know what he is Damian? You never answered my question."

Numi, being easily distracted by new things, begins sniffing Zero. I wonder what this is... maybe it is similar to these?

Azure gave a polite nod to the opposite twins. “Miss Nathalia, Master Zero." She greeted, making a small bow to them both and a mild show of treating Zero the same as his sister. She was just barely familiar with their family, but she made it her business to know all of the nobility by name. It was good for business. Many treated the dark, blind boy as lesser than anyone, but in her mind her still ranked above her. Most of the other shifters passed it off as sucking up for the sake of her job, but it was more of a moral issue for her. She prodded the male human toward the wolf, saying, “Time for a ride." Seera hoisted them on, and Azure grimaced at her question. “He's the same as you and me, just a little unique." She said lowly. “And stop pointing, he is of a noble family."

"What is he?"

The words of a girl poured into Zero's pointed ears. It sounded so close, like she was standing right next to him. But he knew she wasn't even near him. He sometimes wished his hearing was not so spectacular, so he could not listen to the criticizing words whispered about his appearance. Zero lowered his head towards the ground, his blind eyes seeing nothing but blackness. The warm comfort of his sister reassured him, and although he could not see, Zero could feel the stares from the villagers burning into the back of his dark skull.

Nathalia flicked her blue eyes towards the girl, watching as she raised her hand and pointed at her younger brother. She frowned to herself, and began gently leading him away into the marketplace.

Before they could leave, Nathalia was stopped by a bowing girl. She smiled warmly, and returned the bow. Zero did as well, but a little more awkwardly. They then returned to their walk towards the marketplace.

Damian slowly stands up on his large paws once the mortals are placedoing on his back. He lowers his massive wolf head as the two young nobleson passed by. "They are nobles, we must respect them, despite the differences." He says to Seera. The shifters were known for being judgemental toward differences. His crimson gaze flicked to Azure, he raised his head, before straightening out his massive body. He flicks his large fluffy tail lightly before beginning to walk toward the queen's domain.

Scarlett felt herself being lifted onto an animal. She could feel fur when she reached out to hold on. What sort of people were these? With her eyes covered she focused on listening to the world around her. She didn't hear any cars, or radios, just the chatter of people going about their day. She slowly reached out to touch the animal she was sitting on, not being able to tell much other than it had fur and she was sitting in front so the others must be behind her. Where did this animal even come from? "Joel," she whispered, "Do you have any idea what's going on?" Scarlett felt like they weren't even on planet earth any more.

Seera hung her head, ashamed. She hadn't ment to be rude to the boy. She was just far to curious for her own good and she was the least subtle person in the world. "Damian, do you think he heard me? I didn't mean to be hurtful."

Emberly sat patiently waiting for her guards to bring in the intruders. She wondered where they were from and how they came to be on the beach undetected at first. The first thing she would do is find out where they came from and which one of them was the leader, then she would speak to them separately to see if their stories matched. These outsiders would have to be watched closely to make sure they were not a threat to her people.

They would arrive soon. Though they were taking a little longer than expected, Damian must be leading them in circles to prevent them knowing where the village was. Her guards would let her know before bringing them in to speak to her.

Kalora was simply relaxing a bit in the forests around Whisper. She had returned from a trip further into the land a couple of days prior. A Lord of a city to the north thought he could defy the Queen, and had probably been busy planning some form of assault on her and/or her son. Of course she could not allow that to happen. Not as a citizen of Whisper, not as loyal Spymaster, and certainly not as a friend. She had yet to inform the Queen of how her endeavors had ended, and that she had ensured the lord would not be a problem anymore. But first she had taken a few day break to get her thoughts sorted out again.

And now she heard the guards talking about intruders. Really now? She had not even returned yet or other trouble was arising already?

Lightly shaking her head, Kalora decided it was about time she'd visit Emberly again, to tell her what had happened in the north, and to see whether help was needed with these mysterious intruders.

She made her way to Emberly's throne and bowed lightly. Formalities. Always keep in mind the formalities when the guards were around. They might as well accidentally behead her if she didn't address their Queen properly. Even though by now you would expect them to know the two of them had been friends for so many years.

"My Queen," she spoke calmly, gazing up at Emberly, not able to keep herself from grinning. Being so formal towards Emberly still felt odd, and she couldn't help but continuously imagine the two of them would end up giggling like a bunch of little girls with the whole guard there to hear it. "I've returned from Emerald Grove, and am here to report."

"Leave us," Emberly said to the guards in the throne room, "Inform me as soon as the others arrive with the intruders."

As soon as the guards left she smiled at her friend, "What did you find out on your travels?"

The Queen was worried, there had been quite a few rumors of uprisings and threats of war lately. You could do everything you possibly could for a kingdom but no matter what you could not please everyone. She knew that overall her people were happy, but the other kingdoms in the land wanted to add her kingdom to their own. Some tried to do this by offering princesses for her son to marry and others meant to take it by force. Though these threats were not a good sign they had no real reason to worry, not when she had someone like Kalora who could be very convincing when it came to eliminating threats.

Kalora rose as the guards left them alone in the throne room. "As it turned out, the rumors about the uprisings were true. Lord Alren was indeed gathering support from fellow noblemen, and I even found hints he had been communicating with the king of Entheas to plan an attack on our kingdom. I'm willing to go as far and believe he might have already send spies, or worse, assassins here to strike. Although I do think the kind will highly consider calling them back right away."

Kalora could not suppress a grin as she paced around the room a little bit. "I have ensured Lord Alren will not be of trouble again. Although unfortunately this does mean the kind people of Emerald Grove need to find a new lord to govern them. Also, the kind of Entheas has received a.... friendly reminder you are not to be meddled with."

It had truthfully not been her intention to kill Lord Alren, merely to make clear to him he'd better not cross Emberly again or things would end up much worse for him. How could she have known the lord would panic, "trip", and fall out of his window?

"Either way, in case the king of Entheas is stubborn and he truly has send assassins here, you and your son should be on your guard. And if he does plan on actually striking... He has 200 men backing him up, they march to the south east in the hopes of striking the border near Autumnpass."

She looked up at Emberly curiously. "Now what's this talking about intruders? Surely it's not their men already?"

Seera rushed ahead of the others. As she arrived by the doors, they were thrown open by the guards. She bowed, out of breath, and continued in with out waiting for the guards. When she reached the throne room, she once again bowed, and spoke. "Your majesty? Damian and the intruders shall be arriving momentarily. We took a detour, so they wouldn't know where the village was." As she said that, the guards escorted the intruders in, still blindfolded.

As the girl skidded forward, Seera ran over and guided her back to the other two. "Shall we un-blindfold them, your majesty?"

Lila felt herself being pushed through a doorway. She almost fell over as her walking stick slipped on the floor. She stumbled forward, and at the last second before she slammed into the throne, caught her balance. She felt a hand on her shoulder, and she was lead back to the group. She hated feeling so dependent on others.

"Thank you dear friend," as queen it was often difficult to find true friends and Emberly was both glad and lucky to have Kalora. "We shall keep an eye on this questionable ruler in case he feels so inclined to play a game of chance with death once again."

Emberly was just about to inform Kalora of the recent intruders when Seera burst through the doors.

"Your majesty? Damian and the intruders shall be arriving momentarily. We took a detour, so they wouldn't know where the village was." As she said that, the guards escorted the intruders in, still blindfolded. "Well it looks as though you will be able to see for yourself my friend," she told the curious Kalora.

"As long as everyone is looking appropriate, you may remove their blindfolds." The others knew this to mean their human forms, the queen did not know who these people were and did not plan on giving away all their secrets upon their first meeting.

"If he does, the chances won't be in his favor," Kalora stated before turning at the door when the intruders were dragged in. "Indeed." She stated, moving over to the strangely dressed people. Though she kept a safe distance, since she couldn't be sure who or what these people were, she curiously looked at them, walking in a circle around them. Several odd expressions crossed her face, from wonder to thinking to more curiousity.

"How... Odd..." Kalora said, not to really anyone in particular, but more stating what she thought of these intruders. They didn't look or smell like people from Entheas, so who were they and where did they come from?

"On the bright side," she stated loud enough for all to hear. "They are not the people I have just informed you about. On the downside... I have no clue who these people could be. I have never seen this particular dress before."

Dysis gave a groan. The motion was making everything worse. Keeping her eyes shut, not sure if daylight would help the situation. Wait. Daylight? Her confusion was high, and as she was thrown from something and onto the floor just strengthened her uncertainty. Dysis struggled onto her back, then slowly blinked open her eyes. A blindfold? "Okay....who's pulling this..." Sitting up, she held her head in her left hand, then attempted to move her right. Nothing. Frowning, Dysis realized that it is as if it had gotten wet because the claw wouldn't operate. Ripping the cloth from her eyes, she was stunned. First thing that came to mind "...guys...who drugged me..."

Scarlett turned at the sound of Dysis' voice, she still had her blindfold on too afraid to take it off on her own. "Dysis are you okay? No one drugged you, at least I don't think but now is not a good time to talk," she managed to say before they were pushed into what seemed to be their destination. She heard a powerful sounding female voice, "You may remove your blindfolds," Emberly said her voice filling the room.

Scarlett unsure of what she should do obeyed and slowly pulled off the cloth that was covering her eyes. She was amazed at her surroundings, the room was beautiful, sunlight streaming through open spots in the ceiling. They were facing what looked like a large tree growing through the roof and sitting at the base on what appeared to be a throne of some sort was a woman staring straight at them. She was beautiful and elegant but she also looked angry, like watching a thunder storm from a distance the air crackling with power and beauty at the same time. Her hair was like red flames framing her face, and her eyes were like daggers aimed at their throats. Scarlett looked at her friends wondering where they were and what they should do.

"Which one of you is the leader?" the Queen spoke with an unforgiving authority. For a minute no one said a word. Emberly snapped her fingers once and her guards stepped closer aiming their weapons.

"Wait-" Scarlett squeaked, "We umm don't have a leader but we were on my boat when we got lost and it was my party so maybe you want to talk to me?"

"Very good," Emberly smirked, "Damian you take her, Kalora and Azure you can handle the other three. I want them questioned before we decide their fate."

Emberly didn't like to seem like she had ill intent but she could not afford to show weakness in front of strangers.

Scarlett was scared, what was happening to them and why were they being separated? She looked toward Lila, Dysis, and Joel who also looked nervous.

"Very well," Kalora said, looking at the three strangers she was supposed to handle, circling them once more as to assure herself they didn't carry any other strange and possibly dangerous things on them. On first sight she didn't spot anything out of the ordinary. "Take them to my quarters," she told the guards. "I will go ahead, clean things up, and prepare for proper questioning."

With those words, she left the room, entirely leaving it in the middle whether or not the three strangers had to be afraid or not.

They didn't really have to as long as they would just work along, and as long as the Queen had not yet decided what was to become of them. She was glad she got to question them though. Besides wanting to protect her home, questioning thee strangers meant potentially learning of a very interesting new place. And that thought sparked her curiosity as a bard.s till she did know she was to keep those two duties separated as much as possible, ven though one could greatly aid the other.

Emberly called Numi over to her. "I would like you to go and see if they left anything behind on the beach, or in the water, take Seera with you," she said quietly. It had been a very long time since anyone had gotten past their boarders undetected and she needed to make sure it wasn't going to happen again. "Report back if you've found anything out of the ordinary and keep quiet about this I don't want the whole village knowing about it. Emberly knew that if her enemies found out they might think it was a good time to strike against her. "If you see Natalia and Zero in your travels let them know they may be needed here later, if the fate of the strangers comes down to a vote they will have a chance to speak as part of my court."

((Scarlett left her no longer working cell phone in the sand and her half empty bottle from the night before on the pathway when they had to travel on Damian's back. The matches might still be on the rock drying too.))

Numi's tail drops at realizing that she will not be able to find out what these beasts are. Well, there is no way I am going to argue with an order from the Queen. Numi begins nudging Seera towards the door, worried Seera may try to argue with the Queen.

Dysis slowly stood. The other too apparently by the names of Azure and Kalora, were the one's going to question them. Looking to the one she assumed to be Azure, she asked "Uh, before we go to interrogation, can someone take a look at my claw? I kinda need it functional..." her voiced died, waiting for a response while they were herded into another room.
