They were separated at a much younger age. Now they suddenly meet again, completely by chance; How long had they been going to the same college?

He barely remembers her. She thought he was gone forever.

Can they ever be as close as they were before?

Gods, if there was one thing she loved, it was her hockey jersey.

Big black number 32 on the back, the soft polyester felt so familiar to her as she ran to the MacInnes student ice rink, her hockey gear bumping and clanging around in her huge black duffel bag as it smacked against her legs as she ran.

"GAH, WHY AM I ALWAYS LATE?" She howled, shoving her way into the rink and dashing desperately towards the locker rooms. "I swear, I was just gonna lay down for a minute, and then I fell asleep for three hours! GAAAAAH!" She burst into the locker room, and dashed past the boys, who were all sitting and waiting for her, ready already, just waiting for the coach's pre-game speech.

"Cutting it a little close aren't ya?" Dante shouted after her as she ran past and ducked behind lockers. The girl poked her head out from behind the lockers and shouted, "Oh cram a fish in it Dante!" then disappeared again. "You are always coming in late recently, whats going on with you?" Leland shouted, to which Helena replied with, "I only wanted to take a nap for a few minutes, and I ended up sleeping for three hours, OKAY?" The boys just laughed.

By the time she was hopping towards the benches, the coach had started his pre-game speech and Helena found herself zoned out as the coach droned on, and on... Gods, she wondered what was going on at home? Did Jake get into the school musical? He had been so excited about it when he had IMed him last. And how were Toby's grades? She remember it being mentioned that his ADHD was making it difficult for him...

"Hey, Helena. Helenaaaa?" Aiden's voice broke through the fuzzy static, and she snapped back into reality. "Huh?" She looked at him.

"You okay? You've been distracted recently." He said, looking at her with his green eyes, his expression showed concern.

"What? No, no, I'm fine. Just tired. Don't worry. Lets go start warming up." And with that, she stood up and walked off, balancing carefully on her skates as she made her way towards the ice.

Jason sighed rubbing his shoulder as he walked towards the ice rink he felt his cellphone buzz in his pocket and rolled his eyes lazily sliding two fingers in to retrieve it. Swiping his thumb across the screen he answered his phone to hear an angry voice, "Where are you?! We've been waiting for twenty minutes!" "Calm down I'm right outside, besides you're the one that insists on being everywhere early." "Don't you give me that!" "Chill Dani I'm coming in now just hold on see you in five." Jason hung up the phone for some inexplicable reason he never really liked staying on the phone much feeling as if it were almost....dangerous. Shoving his paranoia away he walked up to the gate showing his ticket and getting through after a few short moments he pocketed his phone and walked further into rink looking around for Dani and the others before being blindsided by a 5 foot 4 ball of blonde fury. He ducked multiple punches and caught the last one before chancing a look at a pair of angry azure eyes. "Nice to see you too, been waiting long?" "Oh so now you play the charmer after letting me wait for twenty minutes." Jason turned his gaze down to the girl, "What do you mean play? I am quite the charmer." "Oh riiight you got your second degree black belt and suddenly you're hot shit a charmer even." Dani hit him with her classic eye roll crossing her arms and cocking her hip to the side. "Charmed the pants off you." Jason said a wicked smile spreading across his face as Dani became beet red, "Will you stop with that!" "Hey did you not say I was charming and moments after did you not take your pants off?" We were at the damn pool! And what you said has a completely different meaning!" Dani cocked back another punch and was about to let it fly when another voice cut in, "Ok ok, calm down ladies can we please just go to our seats for once I got front row and everything plus Maria is already waiting in the booth for all of us c'mon let's gooo." A tallish boy a bit taller than Jason interceded looping his arms in theirs and quite forcefully dragging them off towards their spots ignoring their loud protests. "Aww c'mon Trevor I was only teasing!" "Don't really care, let's go." Gravure dragged them off towards their seats Jason eventually falling in step while Dani had a little trouble keeping up putting in a little more hustle than the two comparative giants with her. Jason found himself looking forward to the game being the first time he'd really gone out and done something in a while handling his responsibilities more than partying or clubbing he was grateful he had found some time to hang out with these three.

"Sooooo, who is going to the Winter formal? Ehhhhhhh?"

"I invited Trent, but I don't know if he'll be able to come... Not that I blame him."

"Heh, me and Natalie are all settled, though I'm not quite sure I like the 'matching outfits' idea."

The guys all laughed at Aiden. They stood in a wide circle, kicking around an old tattered soccer ball like a hacky-sack. Basically supposed to just keep it off the ground. The guys were all chattering about who they invited to the annual Winter formal, how they expected the game to go down, things like that. Helena meanwhile was silent as the ball was passed to her, and she proceeded to bounce it on her knee.

"Sooooo, Helenaaaa." A voice called from the other side of the circle. "What is it, Dante." she shouted back, looking up at him and watching him. "Who is taking YOU to the Winter formal?" He said, making her stop the hopping and catching the ball in her hands. "Nobody. I'm not going to the Winter formal." Dante and Bacon gasped from their places beside each other. "Whaaaaat?" They gasped, clapped their hands to their cheeks as one, looked at each other and said to each other's faces, "WE HAVE TO GET HER A DATE!"

"Oh good gods."

"YOU KNOW, I'LL TAKE YOU TO THE FORMAL, HELENA!" Bacon shouted, with a big smile on his face. He wiggled his eyebrows at her, and with that, Helena let the soccer ball fall, wound up and kicked it across the circle, landing the hard ball square in Bacon's crotch, earning her pained crying that she found so sweet.

A half hour later, the ice was prepped and ready for them. The sirens began to blare, lights flashed, music played. The team shook off, and skated out onto the ice. She could feel the chill on her skin as she slid her helmet on, loving the adrenaline rush. Helena came out last, skating about doing a few spins for fun, then grabbed her hockey stick and began to shoot goals with the others. They all shouted at each other, encouraging each other to try harder, slapping each other on the back, happy to be on the ice again.

Jason, Dani, Trevor, Maria, and now Damian had all gathered in their seats and had been chatting for a good five minutes before the action started, Jason could hear the announcers voice booming as he went through his whole introductory speech. Then the fun began the crowd cheered and they all stood clapping, shouting and generally being belligerent and Jason was right there with them all cheering he was sitting between Trevor and Dani, Maria on the right side of Trevor and Damian on the left side of Dani. They all sat in the front row Trevor even banging on the glass making ridiculous faces while Maria giggled pulling him away with her fingers intertwined with his Jason still clapping watched the players skate smiling as another vivid daydream flashed before him the sensation of wind in his face and ice sliding against ice filled him and drew him into the daydream more as it became more like a....memory he was going impossibly fast yet wasn't frightened at all as he skated down a massive wave that ...he froze? He skated towards a ship....an old school ship but it was new.... He remembered landing and looking over to his left his body mimicking the motion and locking on that face that haunting face that was behind a hockey mask. Hold up...a hockey mask?! Jason blinked again thinking he was losing his mind as his eyes told him that the very same face he'd been daydreaming of for years was right before him through shaped metal and plexiglass. "Oh my gods....." Trevor happened to hear him and looked at Jason with an eyebrow raised, "Gods? I thought you were atheist?" "Jason looked at Trevor a confused look on his face he himself flooded with old fleeting knowledge that faded as he spoke "No I'm Greek.....wait...what am I saying?" Trevor's face twisted with concern "I'll order you some water, and uh some fries for me." He said with a weak laugh walking off as a confused Jason turned his attention to number 32.

The introductions of the players began as the opposing teams skated out onto the ice and lined up. The opposing team was introduced one by one, the home team's student section roaring with "boo"s and "Who cares". When the announcer finally began to call off the home team's starting line up, the band in the corner began to play the college's fight song. The player's began to beat their hockey sticks against the ice, as a way of clapping.

"Playing as goalie and wearing the number 12 is Colm Callahaun! Playing as center in 10 is Aiden Farlan!" The player's faces athem playedppeared on the jumbotron, the boys skating up to the red line, all of them exceedingly excited. This game was going to be fun.

"Playing Right wing in 32, is Helena Imuuno!"

The crowds, especially the women in the crowd all stood up and cried out. She smiled as she skated up to the line and joined the boys at the line, taking her place next to Aiden. "I most certainly am the most loved player." She said, bumping his shoulder with the back of her hand. She could just imagine the smile under that mask. "Oh yeah. It's cause your the only girl on the hockey team."

"Damn straight." She smiled.

After the national anthem played, the game began.

Jason just watched sitting on his butt in an odd sort of daze he couldn't help it honestly, as Helena's name reverberated in his mind slowly intensifying he found his hands shaking as he struggled to bring the cup up to his mouth to take a drink his friends to absorbed in their significant others or the game to really notice. Trevor did though and put a hand on Jason's shoulder, the quivering suddenly stopped but the burning desire to remember stayed but what? Jason didn't know but he wanted it he wanted it so bad he wanted to reach out. He kept his body in check feeling something else reach out a chaotic will searching for what he desired and then finding it. Jason's will surged over the ice towards Helena washing over and past her a crack could be heard as a small but long crack going straight up the middle of the ice, it wouldn't interrupt the game but it was something that clearly should not be there. "Sorry I just...I dunno what's wrong with me....I'll take a walk...ease my mind." Jason walked away exiting the booth and heading back up the aisle to get back to the concession stall in the arena chancing a glance back towards the ice which he unknowingly split.

Helena felt so exhilarated as the game went on. She loved the feeling, the adrenaline. It was so much better then anything else. She couldn't describe it. It helped her get her anger out without chopping someone's head off. She skated about and skidded to a free space, just in time to grab the puck as Dante smacked it away from the opposing team, then slamming it into the goal. The crowd rose up and cheered, the fight song played, and the guys all rushed over and hugged her, slapping her on the back.

"Goal! Helena Imuuno, number 32, assisted by number 29, Dante Ferdinand! First goal of the game!" The announcer cried out, the voice ringing throughout the stadium. She raised her hands over her head, her stick in hand, and skated off, getting in the face of the goalie, before going off for the next play. She was soon given a penalty for hooking, so she begrudgingly sat in the penalty box. While she was there, she took her mask off and shook her hair out, watching the game. The boys in the student section behind her swooned and she scoffed.

Jason turned around fully when he heard the crowd cheering and the announcer say Helena's name excitedly, "Helena...." He put his hands in his pockets and looked towards the penalty box seeing the her flip her hair after taking off her helmet he saw the boys behind her all act like fools and smirked shaking his head his only thought was 'How in the hell do I know her?' He wracked his brain a strange thrumming prickly feeling in his fingertips the energy spreading towards the ice again another crack in the ice this time branching off the first fissure and twisting to the right two jagged corners were made and a slight curve before it ended the an odd seemingly half completed shape visible to Jason it looked familiar but e memory of it died before it came. Frustrated he turned back around heading up towards the concession stands his hand running back through his dreads out of habit.

"Home team returns to full power!" The announcer shouts as Helena makes her way back out onto the ice, skating desperately towards the action just in time to hear a crack, and the sirens blare. The crowd groaned, and the opposing team cheered. They'd scored a goal. The guys all sighed and skated off. Meanwhile Helena skated over to Colm and slapped him on the back, then skated off again. While she couldn't see his face, nor has she ever been able to read his emotions, but she knew that he always felt terrible whenever he let the puck slip by. Heading back to the line up, butshe was suddenly called to by coach. It was her time to switch out. She sighed, but accepted this and slid back over to the rest of the team, another player taking her place.

Jason heard the ruckus from behind the stands and hurried back with his medium coke in his hand only to see Helena sitting out apparently since she got swapped out he sighed walking back to his group Trevor waved him over excitedly, "Dude where you been? I got us a chance to hang out with the team you wanna come?" Jason looked a little confused as he sipped his soda. "How'd you do that? Pull more strings?" "Nah dude I just asked the couch it may be a big game but it's still college coach isn't all that strict." Jason nodded "Sure I'll come." As soon as he finished his sentence his eyes were on Helena only seeing her get closer as he walked among his coupled up friends.

She sighed, staring out onto the ice. Her mind wandered and her vision blurred as she zoned out. her eyes following the grooves in the ice made by the skates of the players. She wasn't quite sure what it was she felt.... She felt some sort of odd presence, something she couldn't quite place.... It was so odd, it was distracting. It felt familiar, but she couldn't quite place it... She sighed and flipped her mask up, rubbing her face and sighing. There was a throbbing at the back of her head...

"IMUUNO!" The coach slapped her on the back, "Stop being distracted and get back on the ice!" She shuddered and jumped back over the wall and back onto the ice. She felt the chill return to her, and she slid off, following the boys lead. She retrieved the puck from the opposing team and passed it to Aiden, who attempted to score, but the goal was blocked and the puck sped off with. She attempted to catch it, but the puck bounced off her stick and into the opposing team's hands. They were quite literally skating circles around her. "Hey! IMUUNO! Stop getting distracted!" The coach shouted from the sidelines.

Is that it? I'm just distracted?

As soon as Jason saw Helena get back on the ice he was disappointed but excited to see her play some more. He and the others sat in the row directly behind the team's bench and watched talking to the team intermittently Jason simply watched keeping an eye on everything until he noticed something odd. The other team substituted more times than usual and the new player s seemed larger, more menacing and....going after Helena. Jason looked a little alarmed and wanted to help another crack appearing in the ice making all three cracks perfectly symmetrical a trident-like shape clearly visible Jason's sea colored eyes almost glowed as he subconsciously worked to keep the large men off of her. Cracks, dips, and small mounds were created tripping, turning, and otherwise screwing up Jelena's pursuers while making her look like she was simply breaking their ankles which made him feel like she'd be...happy which made him feel happy.

Helena noticed the change in players. They were huge, masculine. Smelled foul...

Something familiar there.

She found herself being circled. But the skating was bumpy for them. Something was wonky with the ice. It seemed to trip them, and in general tried to keep her away from them. But it didn't work. The rest of the team seemed concerned about her. Aiden skated straight over to them and began to shout at them, and eventually grabbed one of them, and shouted, "Hey man, back off-" only to take a huge fist to the face. A sharp crack could be heard as his mask caved in and he fell back. "Aiden!" Helena shouted, but before she move to help him, she took a hockey stick over the head, and she coughed and fell over. There was something going on with these new players. Dante, Bacon and Leland all came rushing over, but they couldn't get anywhere near her. The opposing team's players were... changing.

"Oh gods... I know where this is going..."

@Kai&\#039;zen Makaira

Jason watched the fight begin with wide eyes full of fear, but something in his gut spurred him into action he felt as if he knew how to handle this. While his friends gasped and panicked Jason jumped over the barrier between the players and student kicking through the door to the ice he took a running step ont the ice and slid forward, he wasn't flailing or struggling with balance as his feet automatically spread to a balanced position he slid fast at the big men shouting to get one's attention away from the collapsed boy with the broken mask it turned to face him in time to receive a crushing blow to its gut a loud crack sounding over the ice as the force of Jason's punch broke through the plastic and slammed into the things soft tissue. It dropped to it's knees and Jason brought his knee up into it's face mask likely hurting himself more than the liastrygonian but leaving a mean dent in the metal. The rush of fighting flooding him as the all too familiar chaos washed over him he delivered a sharp kick to another's chest knocking It on it's back and making it slide a ways on the ice. He couldn't enjoy the effect as he was presently smacked in the face by a hockey stick he fell back and felt his cheek noting the sting of split skin and warmth of fresh blood. He shook his head as he looked back at the liastrygonian that now stalked confidently towards him Jason looked at the ice and saw something strange but no stranger than what he heard next. "Son of poseidone strong, make good meal. At the same moment he recognized the now trident shaped cracks in the ice more memories starting to last. "I am so not gonna be cannibal food." Jason got to his feet quickly his gleaming kopis at the ready he ran at the giant and they clashed.

Everything was fuzzy.

Her ears were ringing.

The ice was cold as she collapsed to her knees, staring at the ice and breathing hard. She couldn't focus on anything, she could hardly breathe. She struggled to throw her mask off, the mask skittering off across the ice. She heard the laistyrgonian roaring about something through the fuzz. "Son of Poseidon strong, make good meal!"

"Son of Poseidon..." She mumbled, attempting to stand, but one of the other monsters already grabbed her by the hair and lifted her up, making her scream and struggle. "Hahaha! Daughter of Hades out of practice! Easy pickings! Expecting harder fight for Hades' fiercest warrior child!" She screamed more, then growled, "You know, I'm disappointed. I went 3 whole months without a monster attack! YOU RUINED MY STREAK!" She shouted, braced her skate against the massive neck of the cannibal and slashed.

Golden ichor sprayed, "You were kind of smart though. I didn't bring my sword with me out on the ice today. Unlucky for you," She mumbled, slipping her skates off, "Last summer, I had my skates infused with Celestial bronze specifically for an occasion like this." She stuffed her hands in her skates, and screaming like a maniac, she charged her foes.

"Daughter of Hades" Jason said his brows knitting together as he wondered why is was so familiar and en there was the scream. For a split second he was worried she was hurt but the tone rang in his mind again he was hit with another wave of memories this time being accompanied by a splitting headache. Jason grabbed at the sides of his skull and full to his knees clenching his eyes and jaw shut a loud, pained groan emanating from within him he barely ducked a Liastrygonians swing. A heartbeat later and it was all gone leaving Jason with much more knowledge of who he was, still not even close to his old self but he had enough knowledge to make sure they survived this. He knew he had to protect the girl and that spurred the rapid-fire actions that followed. Jason shoved himself forward on the ice sliding between the legs of the cannibal and spun and lashed out with his sword taking off its legs at the knees, he popped up and shoved his Kopis through the beast's neck twisting it and swinging his sword sideways to free it. Turning, Jason saw in the corner of his eye a Liastrygonian swinging a hockey stick at him. With a decisive swing he cut it in two and thrusted his sword at it's chest turning it into its spear form and impaling the brute turning it to dust. Jason yanked his spear out and turned to check on how Helena was doing twirling his spear in his fingers before grabbing hold of it giving it another spin before pinning it securely between his back and arm.

The last of the Laistyrgonians fell to her toepick. Having the sharp front edge of her skates smashed repeatedly into his forehead seemed to do exactly what she wanted them to do; kill the opponent and make them into sickly yellow dust. But this wasn't the last of the charade. She was about to finish off the act she threw in at the end of every monster attack, when suddenly, her eyes found the one who had killed the other two Laistrygonians.

"... There's only one son of Poseidon I know." She mumbled, limping towards the guy on the ice with her. Things began to add up. The cracks in the ice. He had the same pretty skin tone, those gorgeous green-blue eyes, hell, even the dreads.

It had to be...

She slid up in front and stared at him. Slowly, tenderly, she reached up and touched his face, confirming that he was indeed there. This simple realization made her so unbelievably happy that she actually smiled as she said, ".. J-Jason? Oh, f****** the gods are showing me some mercy- Oh sweet Zeus I can't believe it's you- you're here, right in front of me, GOD I COULD JUST KISS YOU! In fact-" and it was at this point that she lost all sense of control and took his face in her hands, pulled him to her and planted a kiss on his lips.

Gods, it felt so sweet... She just wanted to cry, she was so happy to see him again.

Jason was still coming down from the head rush caused by being in combat for the first time in what felt like ages. He had been watching the girl he had fought to protect so focused on he he hadn't realized that she skated up to him until her warm, soft hand was pressed against his cheek. He was rendered speechless as he saw genuine tenderness in her eyes. No matter what he didn't want to let those eyes down and as he fumbled for words the impossible happened. He was kissed by a beautiful, talented if not gruff girl she even knew his name he heard the gasps when she kissed him and even more when he wrapped his arms around her waist. "You and I need to talk." That statement was true in multiple ways.

She was just so lost in the simple moment, that when Jason pulled away to speak, she sighed, trying not to cry from her absolute joy of seeing him again, when she suddenly realised that they had an audience that had been watching the entire fight and, worst of all, the kissing. She felt her face get bright red. She could feel all the stares of everyone in the arena. She looked around, and against all her heart's desire, she moved away from Jason, from her cozy place cuddling against his chest, and said to him, "Get off the ice, quickly." before slipping her skates back on from she'd thrown them off onto the ice, and skated out to the middle of the ice. With that, she lifted both her hands above her head, and began to snap her fingers, rhythmically. She could feel all the stares on her going slack. Once this state was obtained, she moved her arms to a T-formation and continued snapping, till she finally let her arms fall to her side, and began to shout so all the mortals could hear her, "The hockey game was won by the Huskies by one points. Then a bunch of crazed fans ran out onto the ice and began to beat up the opposing team. The opposing team quickly left because they were so ashamed of this horrible defeat and they were fleeing from the crazed fans. Go Huskies!... Oh, and that kiss that just happened? That didn't happen." She clapped her hands, and it was then that the mortals snapped back to reality. They began to chatter and cheer like a rowdy bunch of college kids, and some medics came out and took Aiden off the ice.

Jason nodded and practically vanished being too quick on any type of water to really be watched or tracked he was beside his friends in a heartbeat and jumped up beside them celebrating the victory as they did his eyes locked on Helena his only thought was when he'd be able to kiss her again. He watched as the crowd started the slow climb up the steps and out of the arena though he stayed behind giving his friends a weak excuse that he honestly was surprised that they believed, he chalked it up as the after effects of Helena's hypnotism.

Helena sighed as the effects of her trickery took over, and she skated off the ice, into the locker room. The guys were all huddled around Aiden, along with Aiden's girlfriend Natalie. They all looked worried about him, especially Natalie. She was fussing over his face, and trying to get him to stay still long enough to let her wipe his face off. "Nat, I'm fine-"

"No you're not, your face is covered in blood, let me wipe it off-"

"No-"

"No, no, no Natalie, honey, darling. That's not how you do it," Helena said, walking over to them after slipping her skates off, and approached Aiden and Natalie, "If you want these guys to do something, you gotta be more assertive. forceful. For example," she said, turning swiftly to Aiden, grabbing his chin so he can't turn his face away, and snapped his nose back into place. He gave off a high pitched squeal and grabbed his face, Natalie squealed and ran over to his side, then he shouted, "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT-"

"I just fixed your nose. Bye, have a goodnight boys." She shouted, grabbing her duffel bag full of stuff and made her way out of the locker room, leaving all the boys in a stunned silence. Finally, through the door she could hear someone, probably Bacon, say,

"... Damn. I love a woman who can beat me up."

Jason was waiting outside the locker room for Helena after making his way there through the thinning crowds. He had been leaning against the wall quite placidly lost in his thoughts though still registering the noise from within. He couldn't help but look when he heard the sound of the locker room door opening and smiled when he saw it was Helena. Jason's smile gave way to a short bout of laughter when he heard the comment made from a player within the locker room. "I don't think that's normal at all, you?"

Helena was greeted by the sight of Jason, and it made her smile and start to tear up. Of course he stops the tears, but gods... Here he was. This long lost love of the past, and just...

"What? Oh, that's just Daniel Bacon for you. He's just a flirt." She reassured him, throwing on her shoulder strap for her bag and holding the strap with her free hand that wasn't holding her skates. "So uhhh... You said earlier that you wanted to talk....?" She asked, curious and happy to be talking even if all she wanted to do was kiss him and hug him and squeeze him and love him and... You get the message.

Jason smiled pushing off the wall and standing up straight, "I don't know how to say this without sounding like a freak so here goes. For the past several years I've dreamed, drew, and saw your face pretty much everywhere. And the. I finally meet you and....well I feel like I know you...but I can't remember anything well except that I know how to fight and that I'm some sort of wonder boy with water and most importantly you." Jason looked into Helena's eyes with a mix of anxiety and hope, hope that she believed him, and anxiety that he'd be written off as a creeper.
