Experiences When did you started roleplaying and why?

I don't remember when I started but it was long ago lol
Why - mostly because of fandoms, I wanted to continue stories in the fandoms but with friends. So it was roleplaying rather than fanfiction. And then I tried out original stories too.

The collaboration that roleplay allows for always fascinated me because I find it fun to bounce ideas back and forth with someone else.

I found RPN in 2014 through a friend and joined the first RP I laid my eyes on, completely unaware of any RP rules at the time. It was a wolf pack roleplay as these were very popular back then but it died almost as soon as I posted. *sigh* Thankfully, I wasn't discouraged and soon joined another, a supernatural this time, which lasted for nearly 2-3 years until it too died. Revivals have sadly been unsuccessful. *deep sigh* Now, I'm trying to bring my BF who plays lots of DnD in as well, but so far, I've had little luck.

Started roleplaying on a different site back in 2014 out of boredom, found RpN about a year later, and the rest is history.

I started online roleplaying back in the 90s. I was 13 or 14 at the time. I got into it as an alternative avenue to my own (solo) fiction writing, and quite enjoyed sharing a narrative with other people. I've joined and left more sites than I can remember in the two decades since then, many of which don't even exist anymore. Some of the first places I started in on were the AOL chat groups and Yahooligans. I stumbled on them quite by accident, because I really was only just beginning to understand how to navigate the internet at the time. Internet literacy wasn't something commonly possessed back then. Kids nowadays are practically born with a wi-fi connection.

I started role-playing for the fun of it. It used to be a way just to chat among friends online. Actions or verbs usually to express ourselves like - hugs you or runs away. I didn’t really take it as seriously until after I saw Tumblr role-players and I thought that what they were doing was really awesome, especially the fandom character’s portrayal. It seemed like a good idea to get creative writing out so I thought, why not? Here I am a few years later.
