Other What's your favourite period of history?

Personally I love medieval history. This is mainly for the Wars of the Roses, but it's interesting how much political change was occurring in that time period. Spain was becoming unified for the first time, as this was around the time Isabella of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon were married (They were the parents of Catherine of Aragon, who married Arthur, Prince of Wales, and then his brother Henry 8th a while later), so the countries power was coming to a front. Britain was changing rapidly, with a new house becoming powerful, which only a few years before had been shunned for being Welsh (After the Glyndŵr Rising of the Welsh wars, Welshmen were banned from carrying weapons. If you didn't know, the reason the Tudors had a right to rule was because Owen Tudor married the Dowager Queen Katherine (Wife of Henry 5th and mother of Henry 6th) The government didn't like this, and tryed to assassinate Owen multiple times, but because he was Welsh he wasn't allowed to carry weapons to fight back, so eventually the couple had to appeal to the government to recognise Owen and their children as English Citizens.

(If anyone needs a history tutor, I'd be willing to help btw xD )

My favourite time period would have to be World War II. So many twisted people and several different political ideologies started to show up in mainstream media during that time period. Plus I am facinated with the battle for Stalingrad and how that battle changed the tides of war in Russia's favour. I also enjoy what you mentioned about Wars of Roses. One of the many reasons I enjoy the Song of Ice and Fire series since the book series is loosely based on that war.

I must say there's something about Yugoslavian conflict that interests me. Prolly bc I'm Yugoslavian. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I also like the WWI-WWII time period because WWI literally started bc of imperialism and nationalism and people now should learn from that lmao. and then the really poor-written poor-negotiated Treaty of Versailles that pretty much caused WWII, yanno how that goes.

In all honesty, my most favorite place in the time-plane of history resides with the Romans. The Roman Empire has always fascinated me with is politics and maneuvering, the religions it brought into light and birthed, the variety of people within the society and the culture of all concentrated into one. Of course, not all of it is all smelling like roses. Other times it practically smells of sweat, feet, and blood. But overall, the conquests of the entire empire was like an enchantress's spell to me. It becomes shrill at times, but heck, once you get used to it you'll never mind.

The Revolutionary war and the Roman empire. When you think about it they are surprisingly alike and that just reinforces my belief that history repeats itself. Not to mention some of the greatest technological advances in war were created in these times and some of the techniques and ideas are still used today in modern war fare.

70's and 80's. Best cartoons ever. Comics too, actually. But I mean... Thundercats, Transformers, Battle of the Planets/Gatchaman, Danger Mouse, and...

I really enjoy world war 2 era. The considerations of technology, culture, and the clashing of wills, is simply amazing. In several short years, everything evolved and advanced. It shows the true spectacle of human enginuity when a common goal is understand and supported by an entire country (as the US fought, built, and achieved).

I think the Victorian era is cool. They did weird things, and a lot of people tended to collect some really weird stuff. Plus, there was that fascinating phase of corsets. They also had a habit of hiring a young woman to cry at a funeral if a bachelor had died. This era was really interesting.

The 90s. It's hard to explain, just everything about that time period seemed fun. Sure, not as much social media as we have now, but somehow that point in time seemed more alive.

The mid to late 1800s. Technology changed in such an amazing way. Railroads, telegraph, repeating rifles, machine guns, the automobile. All were developed during this time. In the span of 50 years, the way things had been done for centuries, sometimes millennia, had changed. That, and the Three Kingdoms period of China circa 220 AD (thanks to a childhood full of Dynasty Warriors).

To study/write about? The 18th Century in England, especially in cities. But I would NOT have wanted to actually live there.

Being a huge history buff this is a hard question for me to answer, due to all the different aspects of history. But keeping my response narrowed to the specifics would have to be the Napoleonic Wars up to the end of WWII. Yes I'm aware of how much time is covered by that, but each major period in a way set the stage for what would follow after it. The best example of this would be how the First World War set up the Second World War. But looking at the development of the world (which is what fascinates me the most) I prefer the period from WWI to WWII because of the fact that those two events would in effect created the world we live in today.
