Other What’s your “cringey” interest?

Dunno if this really counts as an 'interest', but once or twice a year I plunge myself into a world of mind-numbingly unrealistic fluff by binge-watching a slew of (mostly) Netflix rom-coms xD

heavy quotes on that “cringey” there, it’s a loaded term ;-).

we have seen certain interests get mocked relentlessly by the internet before, whether that be anime or stuff like five night’s at freddy’s. stuff that actually isn’t bad (there definitely is some stuff written by gross people that I think we should try to stay away from. don’t get into a “separating art from the artist” argument here please, that’s a conversation for another day/a separate thread.) so, some people feel like they need to “hide” certain interests and things they like.

so, what’s one thing that you like that you feel like is seen as “weird”? for me, i fucking love vocaloid/vocal sythns. the technology and the producers who use vocaloid is so cool to me, but it’s def seen as something “strange” because “haha it’s anime robots”, which is a very big simplification of what the technology even is.
I know a lot of people still think furries are odd so I'm just gonna say being a furry. I love making characters and animals, so I feel like its only right I enjoy making fursonas. I was also the kid in elementary school who pretended to be a wolf and or cat, so it makes sense. I hide it from most people IRL besides my partner. People online I don't really mind knowing cause what are they gonna do or say, right? I believe if it isn't hurting yourself or others why care? 🤞

Ok agreeing with Chimney Swift Chimney Swift with being called cringey (or other adjacent words) for liking things not perceived to match their gender.

I love cute things and crochet, and making stuffed animals with crochet. But people don't really see that as a "masculine" trait to have. Despite it basically just being a bunch of knots to make a shape. What's manlier than tying knots in rope though?! This is the same thing but on a smaller scale, almost! Lmao
Jokes aside. Crochet amigurumi is my "cringey" interest. I have been cursed that no matter what I crochet it always comes out cute. Even if I was aiming for "scary" or "cool".

Another cringey hobby I have is. Making a new oc for basically every video game I play. And writing/rping a story for them as I play the game. Lol

I have no cringy interests! Cringe is dead! ◝(ᵔᗜᵔ)◜

Watching youtube vlogs of girls with more money than I could ever make haha.

I've never been into that, but that seems like a very common activity among young people. It was even the case when I was young and my peers were young like me. I never got the appeal, honestly.

Hi!!

K sooo like I have 2. 1 that's cringe fr fr and the other i can see why its cringey but whatevs.

The first is soooo embarassing but aaaanyways: I sing karoke in the car lol. But not like really only for fun but like for practice for the Kara-tokey party my friend host. I mean I know what it look like if ya see me but cmon now ya girl wants to impress lol

The other is roller skating but like dressing up for it. Wellll its more like we all dressing like we all that in 70s glam: wigs, booty short shorts and fishnets which i guess is cringe but i see it more like kitch. People always wonder why I dont dress sexy-sexy at the gym and show off the bod. I'm not there for that be so fr. But eyo at the rink? Yeah, I'll drip the skin showing fit out there. I mean its all adults and its just us. Attention whore much sure but anywho I like it lol

Are Tabletop RPGs still viewed as 'cringey'? They were seen as a very nerdy thing when I was in school, but I almost feel like they've become cool again! Either way, I think they sound very fun.

I think furries are cool! The whole NSFW sub-category isn't my cup of tea, but I love the rest! I've always been very much interested in creating a fursona, but I don't even know where to start, what species to pick, let alone colors and stuff! Do you perhaps have some tips or advice?

Back on topic-
Plushies. Idk it might be because my parents were very much no-nonsense when I was a kid and everything that was 'unnecessary' in their opinion automatically was unnecessary for me to have or want.

These days, I love to buy a plushie now and then, especially if they kind of symbolize something; a baby Phoenix (Ember from Dragons and Beasties, if anyone knows them) because the symbolism means a lot to me personally, a raccoon that reminded me of my cat (he's a raccoon at heart, but without the brains) and I'm currently waiting for the new victorian McGee's Cheshire Cat to be delivered! ^-^
