You'd think so, but you'll be surprised the seemingly common-sense things people don't know. I recently learned there are people who have been married for years, going into their 70's and 80's who apparently have never known what age their spouse was and apparently never thought to ask.
Yeah, that's what I meant. Everyone knows they're the same thing, so it doesn't really matter much what you call it.
I guess, but I saw a fair number in fandom RPs and they usually feel very creepy to me.
Well there was the guy whose self-insert was in a gay relationship with Markiplier... then there's the guy who had a weirdly romantic Big Bro/Little Sis with a child version of Fate from Nanoha... so yeah... Also Magic Powers self still feels cringey for me.

I mean sure you can... but it's kinda more of wish fulfillment and might interfere with some stuff in the RP. If they manage to not do those things... I see no harm but in general Self Inserts are bad in RPs.

I don't think you can use age as an excuse. When I was 14 I was writing some pretty decent stuff. At least, that's what other people tell me.

To be fair that was only a year ago. I don't have enough hindsight to look back and cringe like I do at my 12 year old self.
