What To Look For, What To Join

Do You Know

Take a gander.
Having joined recently, I'm rather lost, if not overwhelmed. There is a plethora of roleplays available but which ones would best suit my tastes? Which ones would engage me most?

I'm the neutral sort, not one to form strong opinions often. I hardly focus on genre unless its a convoluted one, requiring a hefty amount of prior knowledge (i.e. historical, war, sci-fi in some cases). I appreciate roleplays that rely on characterization, actual interaction to drive the plot forwards, but still allow quiet moments for each player to build upon their character without relying on others. And, finally, the GM must be capable. No throwing out drama and action everywhere, but using their noggin, thinking and analyzing and leading as they should.

Unless a similar thread exists, I'd like this one to be used to provide advice for those such as myself. Frankly, I don't know which RP to join now that I'm here. Suggestions and insight-- if my criteria is realistic or not-- highly appreciated. And, of course, apologies if this deserves a tag/has been done before/is in the wrong area/etc.

That sounds like what a lot of people are looking for. It also sounds like any decent RP.

Well, except the part about a fondness for something with prior knowledge required - I think I'm one of the few GMs who asks that of his players.

I strive to Join:

A) Stories that either have a well establish World-Builder Outline ;

B) Unstarted RP's with a basic principal for an outline;

Or, most preferably;

C) A Story Introduction which is between 4-8 well structured Paragraphs without more than three active members currently taking part. This ensures I can catch upon the plot in sufficient time to not be burdened by Amateur contributions.

I enjoy all age groups, all genres, and all varieties from humor, adventure, intellectual, scientific,

So, "I aim for Authors who demonstrate Go-or-Know."

I also do not often shoot for quick paced destroy the Wizard stuff with very little plot or character development**

I just like having fun and most of the things you mentioned are things I look for as well,but I don't know about the gm thing. Seems like a lot of people want the GM to think for them and if I get too enthusiastic it puts them off if I try to get involved with things. xD But yea it's okay to be picky about what roleplay you join because I've read a lot of people who put their hearts into something and it just never pans out.

(Just a note this thread no longer pertains to me as I have lost interest and motivation to join any group roleplays here, for the time being.)
