(Make sure you tell what your chosen power is!) Just curious on how would y'all react if you got powers! Any power applies! 1. First Reaction 2. What would you do? 3. Would you tell any one? 4.Anything else you wanna add
I've always wanted the ability to manipulate time. I know it sounds cheap but, It's always fascinated me.
My first reaction would be shock lol. I wouldn't know what to do! As it started to sink in the hair on the back of my neck would stand up, but I'd also get a rush of adrenaline I think.
I would have so many things I'd want to do, but being able to manipulate time isn't something you can play around with. So much could go wrong! I would try little stupid things first like; knocking over a glass of water then reversing time to when the glass was still full, just to get my concept of how I can control it.
I wouldn't tell anyone. Call me selfish but, some things should be kept to yourself. i guess it all depends. You don't want people to start thinking that you're abusing the ability for your own good but, using your powers to help someone you love is 100% worth it IMO.
IE: You're at a store and someone trips and fall in front of like six other people. Everyone just pulls out their phone and starts laughing. I would hands down; go back in time and warn them, or even attempt to catch them. Little things you know? They have huge impacts on someones life.
I want to help as many people as I can, and time manipulation would definitely make things a lot easier!
My powers would be a combination of Dr. Strange, Thor, Martian Manhunter, Dr. Manhattan, and The Silver Surfer.
1. The first reaction would probably be an existential shock. Previous ideas of religion and science would suddenly become social constructions. My mind would probably age infinitely within a second, overwhelmed by wisdom of the universe. I would probably faint after that.
2. I would show the world. Create a new religion with myself as its main object of worship. I would correct all the things that are wrong in the world and inspire people to colonize our galaxy in contrast to anything else.
3. Yes, see answer 2.
4. Assume all of this to be true. It just hasn't happened yet.
My absolute favorite power would be shapeshifting.
1. I'd probably freak out. But after a little while, I think I'd mostly just be extremely excited.
2. Well, first I would test my powers out by turning into a cat, or a dog or something simple like that. Then I'd give my family horse rides. And turn into a dragon.
3. I'd tell my family as soon as possible, even if it meant the government wanted to chase after me to study me or whatnot
4. I would love to have this ability! I could turn into a bird and fly. I could turn into a tiger and just roam around the house looking awesome. The possibilities are endless. I'd turn myself into a chicken, just for the fun of it. Seeing the world in a whole new perspective sounds so amazing.
1. Copious swearing in shock. "Holy goddamn fuck no wait what the hell happened while I was asleep for the love of stupid fucking asinine--" (deep breath) "--God you shitty little fatemaker -- uh wait God am I in hell yet for taking your name in vain?"
2. Test it out in a controlled manner, maybe with an expert biologist at hand. I'm still figuring it out, and what if my superpowers fail in the middle of a crucial situation? I really just want to figure out the boundaries of such a thing, how it would work, whether I could go through it with logic or if the whole thing will scramble my mind. If it doesn't act out in a way that I don't expect (if I have complete control over it), then I'd try and work them out in a way that hopefully doesn't involve saving the world from forces of evil. I'm young, I'm not made for this celebrity shtick.
3. Of course, it could get me or other people in danger, and as far as I'm concerned idiotic government controllers haven't emerged in America in this timeline. Well they might be here within the next 4 years, so I'd try and keep this stuff rather private. No news reporters breaking into my house as I try to write a short story and strapping me to an interview chair and interrogating me, please and thank you.
4. I'd be neither a superhero nor a supervillain, if the world wants one of those they ought to just create a custom drone or a new edition of the nuclear bomb.
I think this stuff through too much in my head, and then in reality I'd just be stuck in part 1 for a few hours. And part 2 would take forever, but it's worth it.
My power would be telekinesis, ya'know, because that's the ultimate superpower.
1. I'd probably freak out first, then mess around with the powers, by like flying or something.
2. I'd use my power all the time, to do school work mostly, or homework. I'd also use it to fly and stuff like that. No saving the world or anything. And I wouldn't be a super-anything. I might use it to play pranks too.
3. My best friend, yes, but no one else. I wouldn't need people to know.
4. I wouldn't help anyone unless I got something out of it. I mean, why would getting powers change my personality?
The second we as a society discover or obtain time travel either through evolution or technology then it's all over for us. Hundreds of thousands of people are all going to try and murder Hitler, irrevocably damaging the timeline in some really warped ways. Of this I have no doubt.
I want to alter one's perception of reality. Make every single individual appear to look exactly the same as you during a chase and other tricks along the same line. Illusion holds so much potential, and I never really have liked the idea of violence so it'd be nice if I had a power that would let me bypass it entirely.
1. First Reaction
"Guess I'm calling into work today."
I'm a massive nerd so I don't think it'd shock me too much. Obligatory scene sequence of testing powers.
2. What would you do?
Honestly? Rob banks. Work toward building a reputation. Expand my influence, and start getting henchmen. Once I've amassed enough power put myself high in a seat of authority and start correcting what I believe to be wrong. I know it's only two steps away from supervillain and one step away from well-intentioned extremist but...eh. I have a long list of issues with the world that I'd like sorted out and if I had something I could use to that end, then that's fine.
3. Would you tell any one?
Nah. Carrying secrets for people I'll never speak to again anyway. Don't really need to talk to anyone about it. Doing so just creates problems anyway. Blackmail, betrayal, etc. Not to mention they'd become a target following comic book clichés.
4. Anything else you wanna add?
Loosen up, people. Have some ambition and conquer the world.
A weird one but a interesting one, the power to change your voice to any other persons or and thing.
1. First Reaction
Surprise followed by many thoughts of what I could do with this.
2. What Would You Do?
I'd use it to trick people or scare of people by making a bear noise or something. Maybe becoming a voice actor. I can't think of lots of use for this, it would still be fun tho.
3. Would You Tell Any One?
I wouldn't tell them that I could make anybody or things sound. I would just make them think i'm good a impressions.
