Results:

The babies are part avian.

Birth:

The Maximum Ride experiment is replicated, two healthy subjects have been created.
Overview

Seven and Talon are living proof that the maximum ride experiment can be replicated. A selection of scientists have proved this. D-18-X-24 was a success. But they escaped. Winged teenagers in the states are no longer unusual, a flock of enhanced kids already exists. Now there are more, but Seven and Talon aren't interested in running, then never signed up for this, they want a normal life, as normal as it could ever be.

Seven wandered into school alone that morning, It was an unusual sight, normally he and Talon were inseparable, but she'd gone for a flight that morning and had returned later then intended, meaning that Talon had already left. The students around the school gates fell silent as she walked in, wearing a pair of skinny jeans with a turtlenecked shirt and a navy jacket. She ignored their looks, but smiled slightly as the student body parted slightly to allow her through.

That is was you get when you confront one of the meanest girls in school, but she had been bitching about her, and Seven wasn't about to stand by and let that happen. Besides, if she hadn't dealt with it Talon probably would have, and that never ends well.

That had been almost a month ago, but she was pleased that the effects were still being felt. It wasn't that she enjoyed making people scared of her, but it was safer; the less people she got close to the less people that would get hurt.

Talon ignored the eyes on him, there were always people starring. He didn't much mind the attention anymore, he took care of that a while ago. No one talked bad about him or ever said anything bad to him he could beat any kid in this school and he had. He opened his locker and pulled out his books. He was clad in the usual jeans a t-shirt and a wind barker plus a pair of Jordan's. On his locker door hung picture of him and Seven along with pictures of cars. He loved cars.

He slammed the locker door making the metal whine and made his way to Steven's locker. He hadn't seen her all morning and he wondered where she'd been.

Seven knew that Talon was near, it was some sort of six sense she'd picked up. Whenever he was close her wings would twitch and her legs would begin to steer towards him. This morning she found him by her locker, and smiled widely. "Morning T. Sorry I wasn't around, I was feeling a little cagey and went out for a flight. I was going to wake you but you were fast asleep."

She opened her locker and slung her bag inside, picking out her books for first period Biology. Surprisingly she had no problem with labs, considering where she had spent the worst part of her life, and Science was one of the subjects she excelled in.

He smiled and nodded. "I thought as much. I've been feeling that way a lot lately too." He watched her. The way her long dark hair fell just right, the way her eyes lit up when she saw him it made his heart skip a beat. "And world knows you don't wake a sleeping bear." He chuckled and leaned on the lockers neck to hers shuffling his wings without even realizing to keep them from smashing against the locker. The harness they wear to keep them in made him wince.

"No" She began to correct him, smiling softly, "You don't wake a sleeping bird. You're to nice to be a bear. Although-" She cut herself off and shook her head, sending her hair tumbling over her shoulders and into her face. To this she giggled. "What do you have first? I have Biology." As she spoke she wiped the hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear.

"Haha very funny," He stuck his toung out at her and watched her tuck the hair behind her ear. She was so darn cute he thought and then he pushed up off the lockers. "I have Geometry, but I wouldn't mind walking toward biology first." He smiled at her and took the book from her hand. "After you m'lady." he chuckled and faked a bow. "always my favorite subject what with the fascinating cells and all that junk."

Bobbi rolled her eyes, "It's plenty interesting thank you very much." She huffed defiantly, quickening her pace and walking ahead. "I thought you were my escort? Not doing a very good job." Students moved out of the way as she passed, they always did, even more so when she was in a mood like this. She flipped her hair over her shoulder, glancing back at Talon and clutching her books to her chest.

Talon watches the sea of students part and smiles. He was definitely doing his job right. He jogged after her and caught hold of her arm. He walked her arm and arm down the hall. "I think I do my job very well thank you very much, and I've had enough biology for a lifetime. I don't know about you." He laughed even though his heart ached to think back to the lab. "Maybe once you've had your fill you can help me with math." He gave her a pleading smile. "Not my strong suit."

Seven.

YaYt-SzSTjE.jpg

Seven caught the look on his face and grimaced, she hated the lab just as much as he did, but there was a part of her that wanted to know exactly what they had done to her. "Sure, I'll help you with your Maths. I'm free second, meet me outside the lab." She looked away when he gave her that pleading look, because it gave her thoughts that she shouldn't be having about her best friend, instead she blushed. "And you're a wonderful escort. Don't worry."

He nodded. "Please no need to compliment, I know." He patted her shoulder mockingly but was a little caught of guard when he saw her blush. He coughed. "I-i better get going." he smiled at her and took off down the hall he had feve seconds to get to the other side of the school. As he was running he wondered about her blush. Thoughts circled in his mind and he pushed them away. Gross, she was like his sister. He made it on time and took the seat in the very back. The boy gladly rose and let him take it shuffling away in fear.

Seven watched him leave, smiling softly, then entered her classroom. She took her seat at the front and opened her textbook. When a substitute teacher ran in and told them that they would be reviewing last lesson she relaxed, having already gone over the material several times. She rested her chin on her hand and stared out of the window, thinking back to how Talon had run off moments ago. She knew that their relationship was shifting, she could feel it; at first it was only subtle things, he would look at her when he thought she wasn't looking, or if she said something then sometimes he would begin to stutter.

It was strange, and yesterday after school they had been at home and
she'd come out of her room in her underwear with her wings partially out he had left the living room as if it had caught on fire. She wondered if he was ill, after all, she'd done it before and he hadn't batted an eyelid.

He reclined in the seat not even listening to the lesson. He didn't even pretend in this class he hate math with a passion, he liked working with his hands. That wasn't the problem today though, he couldn't get his mind off Seven. Lately his mind kept bringing him places he did not wanna go, but more and more he found himself enjoying those mental images. She was always on his mind, usually he was worried about her protection but lately he was more worried how cute her butt looked in those jeans. he sighed and sat up looking at the bored it looked like alien. He sighed wishing he had a distraction. These thoughts were not ones he wanted to carry home with him. He needed a flight, he hadn't been flying in ages.

Halfway though Biology Seven decided that she couldn't concentrate, she gathered her things and walked up to the teachers desk; "I'm not feeling well miss. I'm going to go down to the nurse." She left before the young teacher could tell her otherwise, stopping by her locker to drop her things off first. The nurse, who always seemed strangely interested in her, took one look at her and waved her away. "Go home, I'll have someone tell Talon."

Seven smiled appreciatively, out the door in seconds and through the school gates in moments. Once outside she paused, leaning against the wall and breathing deeply; she didn't know what was the matter. The apartment they owned wasn't far, and she ran the whole way, not bothering to slow for the benefit of the humans. She fumbled for her key, jamming it into the lock and twisting it before walking through the door and trying to think straight.

She didn't know what was going through her mind, or why she was breathing like she was; but suddenly the walls seemed to be closing in and there was a heat creeping up through her torso. The shirt she wore felt like it was burning; she tore it off and threw it across the room. Standing there in her bra and jeans she felt a little better, and calmed down further when she released her wings. She wandered into the kitchen to grab a drink and leant against the counter with her eyes closed.

Talon got the feeling something was wrong but he brushed it off. His mind was all wacky today and he didn't trust his instincts, he just sat threw math class tapping his fingers to the beat. He focused on that instead of Seven. When the bell rang he was out the door in seconds pushing past everyone. They moved out of his way as quick as they could but some weren't fast enough. He walked to his locker and dug out his text book for english. He looked at the pictues on his locker and traced her outline with his finger. What was wrong with him? He shoved the book back in his locker and took off for the double doors. He busted through and ran around back to the shed with the foot ball equipment in it. There he stripped of his jacket and pulled off his shirt. He took off the harness and released his wings. they cramped slightly but he stretched them out, well as far as the 4 by 4 shed would let him which wasn't even half his wing span. He tucked his wings in for a moment then ran for the woods. Jumping he pumped his powerful wings and cleared the tress in seconds. He glided opening his wings all 17 feet. He felt the wind and he melted into it closing his eyes and trusting the wind current. It carried him gently like a mother might hold a baby. He barely had to flap on a day like today. He just enjoyed the wind in his hair and the sun kissing his bare back.

Seven folded her wings and wrapped them around herself, sipping the water and looking at the backs of her eyelids, perhaps she was just tired. For the past few days she hadn't been sleeping well, that was probably it she decided. Opening her eyes, she placed her glass by the sink and wandered over to the sofa. She tucked her wings being her and slowly laid down, resting her hands on her stomach and breathing deeply.

He sailed on the wind for what seemed like forever just enjoying the gentle caresses of the breeze on his skin. He had not one though of anything but gliding. His fathers shimmered in the after none sun as he landed back on the ground among the trees. He tucked in his wings and went back to the shed to retrieve his things. He clasped the harness back on and pulled on his shirt then his wind breaker. He decided it was time he headed home. He often skipped school so he knew seven wouldn't be to worried he disappeared. He made his way home, his mind was clear now and he could control his thoughts. His flights centered him again. He walked up to the door and fished out the key from his pocket only to find it was unlocked. Seven must be home too, he thought as he walked in. "Seven," He called as he closed the door behind him.

Seven.

YaYt-SzSTjE.jpg

Startled, Seven sat up, peaking over the top of the sofa, realising it was only Talon and standing up. She was well aware that she was topless, but he'd seen her in less so it wasn't an issue. She smiled softly at him, "Hey, I came home. The nurse told me that she would have someone tell you. I was just sleeping."

She giggled, looking at him happily. "Did she tell you? Or were you ditching class?" It wasn't like she particularly cared, he usually skipped. It wasn't like their educations were in danger, they were probably top in most of their classes, they both had excellent memories and it was never hard to catch up.

His looked away rubbing the back of his neck. "I um went for a flight, I haven't been in forever." He looked at her again concern on his face he walked into the living room and sat beside her. "The nurse? Are you ok?" He asked worriedly. He looked her over for any wounds, he was used to this by now blood never bothered him. "You look fine whats wrong?" He looked back up at her eyes. His emerald eyes full to the brim with worry. He looked her over again this time not looking for anything he couldn't help the way his eyes wandered this time. Then his eyes flashed back to hers when he realized what he was doing.

Seven.

YaYt-SzSTjE.jpg

"I'm fine" she assured him, smiling convincingly. She caught his eyes, and followed their line of sight; shocked to discover where he had been looking. She blushed, frozen on the spot but wondering whether she should put her shirt back on; it'd never been an issue before. "I-I'm sorry, I can put my shirt back on if you don't like me wandering around like this. I didn't realise it b-bothered you." She'd never felt self-consious before, but now she felt really conscious.

She'd always felt comfortable with her body, but now she felt really conscious. Seven turned quickly, hunting down her shirt and trying not to let him see her. When she couldn't find her shirt she curled her wings round her body.
"I'll go grab on from my room. I'm sorry."

"No it's ok. I'm sorry." He blushed too. "I've seen worse it's ok, it doesn't both me." He smiled trying to sound convincing. "Come here and tell me wants wrong." He opened his arms to her like he always did when she was crying or had a bad dream. "Don't think you can get out of this that easy little falcon." He smiled at her giving her a mock look of disappointment and laughing.

Seven.

YaYt-SzSTjE.jpg

"I'm fine, really T." She wandered over to him, curling into his arms. He was bigger then her, and she fit just right into his side. "I'm lucky to have you, I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have you with me." She looked at him through her lashes, opening her blue eyes wide and smiling softly into his chest. It was like a solid wall of muscle, and it made her feel safe. "We're changing" she mumbled into his chest, looking away. "I can feel it. We aren't the same as we were. You're still Talon, and I'm still Seven; but we aren't Seven and Talon anymore. We're closer, we're something else now."

Seven closed her eyes, knowing that she had to get this out before her brain stopped working. "I've seen you looking, really looking. It- It doesn't bother me. I've just noticed it. I can feel it more then I can see it. I can feel the way you act around me now; you don't like the way other boys look at me; you never have, but this is new; is if you think thy'll harm me." She turned her head away and her tongue darted out to wet her lips.

(Seven has the ability to sense things, not like a telepath; like its a sixth sense. She can sense danger and changes ETC.)

He held her close rubbing her arm soothingly like he always did. He did it absentmindedly as he listened to her and he nodded. I guess it was time to talk. "I agree, and you are right. I don't feel the same when I'm around you anymore." He looked down at her she was so perfectly matched to his body she laid perfectly in the crook of his arm. he rested his chin on her head. "I still love you Seven, but I don't think it means the same thing anymore." He sighed. He was ruining everything. "I think about you a lot different then I usually do and when boys look at you I don't feel as much protective as I feel jealous." He wished he could stop talking but his chest ached to let her know. "And you're right I do look, I cant help but look I guess. I'm sorry if that makes you feel uncomfortable falcon. I don't mean to think the things I do, my mind just jumps." He blushed a little drawing to mind a few choice images.

"Thats the thing" She begun, resting her head against his chest again. She signed, "I've been thinking about you too, an-and I don't mean to, but I do. I like the way you get jealous at other boys; because I get the same feeling when another girl looks at you." Her heart ached, she knew she had to tell him, but this was something that would change their friendship forever. After this moment they would never be who they were before, because she was telling him something she had been trying to ignore for a while now. "Things are going to change now, aren't they? And if you want to go then thats fine. But I have to tell you. I love you, I really do T. But I don't love you like I did. You're more then a brother to me."

"I'm not going anywhere." He whispered the next move would change them forever. They would never just be friends again. He cupped her chin in his calloused hand and up turned her face to make her meet his eyes. "I love you too." He smiled he had been wanting to say that for forever but he couldn't imagine she would feel the same, but now that he knew she did his heart was over joyed. He leaned in close to her face his lips brushed hers softly in on chaste kiss. She tasted so good but he just let that one kiss linger as he stared into her eyes. "I'm glad to hear that." He smiled but held in his laugh.
