right now, it's a tie between gray wolves and african wild dogs - but orcas are a close runner-up
i've been on a wildlife and animal fixation for a long time now, and wolves and wild dogs are my absolute favorites for the same reasons (socially and behaviorally they're very similar, and both admirable hunters in their habitat - wild dogs' hunting skills blow lions, cheetahs, and hyenas aout of the water easily)
and i just really like orcas, they're smart and i like following the research that's being done on orca dialects/languages... in general i think any animal that displays a generational learning structure is really neat, and wouldn't you know it, orca pods also remind me of the social structure of wolf packs, so, maybe i just love wolves so much that anything even remotely wolf-like behaviorally is also a favorite of mine, lol
