What are watched tags?

I just noticed a thing that says "watched tags", but when I clicked on it, it said that I don't have any. That doesn't surprise me since I just noticed that such a thing existed, but I haven't noticed anything that gives the option to "watch" a tag. I'm guessing that would send an alert anytime someone tagged their post with that specific keyword, right? Is that something that was once a feature that hasn't been removed, or related to the tag cloud, or am I just blind and oblivious? It isn't really a big deal or anything, but I was curious about it.

As far as I'm aware, it's giving you the option to get a notification when anyone creates a thread with that tag. It could be useful if you really want a... Percy Jackson roleplay, you can watch tags such as 'PJO' or 'Demigod', and whenever someone uses that, signifying that it might be a Percy Jackson roleplay, you'd know.
