My Interest Check
Hey all! I checked the FAQs and didn't see any definitions, but maybe I missed a page? First time on Xenforo and I'm still figuring things out. My question is what quest and nation building interest checks are for, basically. Are they usually for 1x1? Groups? What differentiates them from other interest checks? Is there a specific endgame? Thanks in advance!

Hello!

Quest RPs are something like Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books; the person running the roleplay writes the story and the characters, but at certain points will offer others the chance to vote on what happens next, or what choice will be made by the characters, that kind of thing. They're usually open to anyone who's reading it, but the roleplay owner will explain how their rules work (usually in the first post).

Nation Building is like most other RPs, but it focuses on a much larger scale: countries rather than individuals. Some will involve individuals as well (major players such as kings, generals, etc.) but the focus of the action is on the nations. Kind of like the difference between Monopoly and Risk, I guess? Most of the ones I've seen are groups, but they can be 1x1 as well. As with any RP, endgame depends on who's running the story (or the group, if it's wholly collaborative rather than GM+players).

Perfect explanation, thank you so much!
