"Hey, as long as it works, right?" Ash asked as she took his phone, quickly putting in her number and then handing it back to him with a smile. Sure, Ash had the newest version, but that was simply because her dad had the money. Plus, she was always a little worried that having something older would somehow result in her being kicked out of the cheerleading squad or losing her fragile popularity. "There! I'm officially your first friend in Westbrook. Now c'mon, let's get your schedule." She said and continued walking through the twisting hallways.

Ash shrugged as she readjusted her books back in front of her. "Well, I mean, you haven't seen the cheerleaders here. They're amazing, and it's hard to keep up, I guess." She said, trying to think of how to support her opinion.

Lunch time. After gym, Ash had hurried over to the cafeteria as quickly as possible and soon found herself to be the first person to arrive at the cheerleader's table. For lunch, she had brought a single apple, hence why she didn't have to wait in the super long line for school lunch. Last year, Ash had been on the heavier side and throughout the summer, she had worked to try and bring her figure down. So now here she was, surviving on as little as possible.

While waiting, Ash took out her phone and was busy updating herself on what had happened on social media, eating her apple slowly as she scrolled. Damn, Ava looked hot today. She quickly loved it and continued on when, out of nowhere, someone appeared next to her shoulder.

"Ooh, interesting."

Ash coughed on the chunk of apple that had been in her mouth and dropped her phone, her apple also falling out of her hand to the ground, before turning to see who had surprised her... Only to see Mason. "God damn it, Mason! You dick." Angry, she smacked him in the side. Back in the day, Mason had been pretty good friends with Jace, so both him and Drake were almost like brothers to Ash.

Still, he annoyed the hell out of her.

"Sorry, sorry." Mason chuckled, standing back up away from Ash. "Hey, you having that welcome back party this Friday again?" He asked, rubbing the spot where she'd smacked him.

"Yeah, of course. I was just about to tell the girls about it, but feel free to go and spread the word." Ash said, waving her hand dismissively at Mason. "And throw out my lunch that you ruined."

"An apple? That's not a lunch." Mason rolled his eyes, but picked it. "But fine. See ya later, Ashy." He said, rubbing her head before walking off. "I'm bringing you real lunch." He called over his shoulder.

Rolling her eyes, Ash turned her phone's camera on and tried to fix her hair.

The living room was practically empty, aside from the an old couch, a dusty coffee table, and a cracked TV. No photos hung on the walls, there were no decorations to be found, unless you considered empty whiskey bottles decorative. The carpet was stained, dark blotches scattered across it, while in places the wall paper was tearing. The house was in a state of absolute disrepair.

Soft light shined down through tattered blinds, illuminating Kanen's face as he slept on the old couch. He ground softly, rolling over and falling off.

He hit the ground with a thud, an empty pizza box breaking his fall. Unfortunately, there was no way he was going able to go back to sleep now. The boy sat up slowly, searching the coffee table for his phone. As per usual, inboxes were empty. No surprise.

Kanen just sat there for a while, staring at the black screen of the damaged TV. He was already very, very late for school. Not like he cared though. Kanen would take his time waking up.

After five minutes or so of sitting and doing nothing, Kanen finally got up, trudging his way through the house to the bathroom. If he was going to go to school, he'd atleast show up clean. Starting the shower, it wasn't long before the steam had filled the room, fogging up the mirror so much that Kanen couldn't see himself. Kanen stood there silently for moment before peeling away his clothes and stepping into the shower. The hot water felt good. It was almost painfully hot, but in a few short seconds his body grew accustomed to it.

After showering, Kanen's morning routine went as usual, despite the fact it was closer to lunch time than morning. He dressed, blue jeans, a pair of fancy brown boots, a light blue button up shirt, all covered up by an expensive looking jacket. He looked out of place here. Despite the house being in shambles, Kanen always seemed to have the money to afford nice clothes, regardless of the fact he had no job.

When Kanen went to leave the house, he passed through he kitchen. He had gone in to find food, but instead he found his step-mother, passed out on the ground with a bottle of gin clutched in one hand, and some prescription held in the other.

Dark eyes looked down on her. Angry. Hateful. Granted, most the time Kanen wasn't much better than her. But Kanen wasn't mad at her. He was mad at circumstance. While other kids woke up to find fresh pancakes in the kitchen, all Kanen had found was an addict, sitting in her own filth. Honestly, it shouldn't even upset him anymore. Its not like it was anything new.

"Wake up." Kanen said, softly at first, getting no response. "Wake up!" Kanen barked, getting louder as he lightly kicked his stepmother's foot. She responded only with a drunken groan. Typical. "Hope you fucking overdose..." Kanen grumbled as he left, walking out the front door.

Parked outfront was a bright red Mustang. It was a beautiful car, an amazing ride. However the vehicle hadn't moved since Kanen's Junior year... It would likely stay parked until I rusted to dust. No one drove it anymore, though Kanen's step mother probably would, if it weren't for the fact Kanen wore the key around his neck, along with his father's dog tags.

The boy walked, marching to the school underneath the hot afternoon sun. The school wasn't far, sure enough he found himself in the hallways, just as lunch had begun.

Cafeteria Table

Opening up her packed lunch, Angelina turned and sneezed into a fresh tissue before cursing under her breath. Her allergies weren't letting up. She prayed for them to die down, especially when at the animal shelter.

"God bless" Samamtha said with a cute giggle, sitting opposite her big sister, a plate with tons of food on it in her hands. Angelina thanked her, eyeing her sister's lunch, licking her lips, locked in. "Nope, nope, nope. Bad Angie. No targeting Sammie's food" Samantha covered her plate, Angelina looking down. She rubbed her big sister's shoulder comfortingly. "Hey, look at you; you've lost so much weight so quickly. Of course you're going to get cravings. Don't be ashamed".

Angelina looked back up, nodding in thanks and smiling a little.

Abigail Simmons

Abigail flashed a bright smile, sitting across the lunch table from Ash. “Hey, girly,” she grinned, opening her water bottle and taking a sip. “How’s the first day going?”

Ash was pretty, kind, and a good cheerleader, but she lacked confidence. Naturally, Abigail was fond of her; she was admirable, but weak enough to be non-threatening. She also reminded Abby of a younger version of herself, despite the small difference in age.

Her lack of a lunch was immediately apparent and Abby tried to hide her delight at it. If she and Ash really were similar, then she knew her missing meal was a diet, and not a smart one at that. She doubted Ash was starving herself, but sometimes all it took was one bad day. At least she didn’t have to worry about Ash outshining her on the squad.

The day had been uneventful thus far for Abigail. She’d jogged, eaten breakfast, caught a ride to school with some underclassman football player she was entertaining, and started her usual territorial activities. This mainly meant kissing up to faculty and putting classmates back in line if they were stepping out of the status quo. A backhanded compliment here, a tripping foot there...

Then there was that Angelina Nikki in the bathroom. She looked good this year. In fact, she was glowing this year and it was infuriating. A quick correction had hopefully taken care of that, especially since it was the first day. With any luck, she’d have learned her place.

It was Abigail’s final year at this school and she felt at ease. She had the place wrapped around her little finger. With her GPA and extracurriculars, getting into the university she had her eye on would be a cinch. She’d get to relax and keep to herself there while she waited to gain her degrees and her place in the family business. Then she could put her practice from this little league joint to good use. Today high school, tomorrow the world.

She reflected on all this as she started on her caesar salad, only half listening to Ash’s reply.

SJ rolled their eyes. Yeah, hipster was one word for it. So was halfway intelligent. But clearly these two daft idiots were made for each other. "Oh my gosh I am like so happy for you two!!! It's so nice you've found someone to be equally vapid with. Let me just get a picture!" SJ got out their camera phone - SJ didn't do the old fashioned thing, and they had spent the money to get a little bit of a better camera insert - and backed up a few steps, taking several pictures in rapid succession, making sure to get all the most awkward angles of the two people standing in front of them before Ryan walked off.

SJ was more than happy to get out of situation, and they did so, hoping to high heaven that Ava did not honestly believe they were friends. SJ would literally smack her in the face, but at this point they were beginning to doubt it would make a difference. "See you around, Ava." Class. What a grand new adventure to navigate. At least they'd avoided standing around like an idiot waiting for it to start. Now just to find the right room...

Sawyer
tumblr_myn696khJL1rrndj1o5_r1_250.gif
Sawyer became a completely rejuvenated person around lunch time everyday. A new sort of confident aura now oozing out of her completely awake and attentive self. This time in the afternoon was prime for extra jittery Sawyer, but was not a good time for everyone else. This fact was made evident by the way she was barreling down the hallway toward Ryan's last class before lunch. She had no regard for the other students going at a reasonable pace and would simply push them out of the way as she went. A few curse words were thrown her way but, like always, she was ready with a quick retort.

As the door of Ryan's current class came into view, Sawyer skidded to a stop her sneakers squeaking against the linoleum floor. A janitor walking by cast her a dirty look she gave him a sheepish smile and came to a full stop. She peeked inside the classroom to see what was going on and saw the teacher finishing up talking. Sawyer spotted Ryan, caught his eye and promptly did a bunch of random hand signals that no one could possibly decipher before the teacher looked her way. She made a face and ducked down behind the door just as the second bell rang.

When Ryan walked out, he would be greeted by Sawyer casually leaning against the wall with a twizzler hanging out of her mouth that she had dug out of the bag in her backpack. As if she hadn't just been making obnoxious faces and weird hand signals at him through the door a second ago. Cool as a cucumber, as always.

Melody Wright

"Finally!" Melody exclaims after she spots the cheerleaders. There at the table say one brunette girl and one blond both strikingly beautiful and intimidating and made her almost too scared to sit with them.

The classes were giving her a headache and she didn't feel smart enough to be even taking the class so it felt almost pointless to be there. She honestly wanted to give up but decided to stay since her parents would let her leave. Why didn't school teach them important things like taxes and mortgages were beyond her but she would much rather learn that they just mindlessly memorize algebra she would never use in her adult life.

"Hey, guys! I'm Melody your best cheerleader friend forever!", she giggled sitting down with her slice of pizza. She hoped she didn't come off too strong and they would take her seriously. If her dad and other adults hopefully they would at the least.

Grace

original.gif

It’d been a while later since her confrontation, with beanie girl. She never got her name, so Grace had decided she’d call her that until she learned her actual name, she would’ve talked to her more before she ran off to help whoever got into the fight a few lockers down.

Grace walked into the cafeteria, scanning the room. Until she saw Ash & Abigail, Grace had spent time with them before. Considering they’re both on the cheer team, She got her lunch not bothering to look at what was on the tray itself. And made her way to the table, and took a seat near the two. "Hey." was all Grace said, with a small smile greeting them both, as she put her tray on the table. She started eating the packaged fruit. She looked down and made a face of disgust, staring at the tray Grace didn't seem particularly interested in what the school called 'Food.' Next time she'll pack lunch, she made a mental note to make sure. Her attention turned back towards the two girls' She noticed that Ash was only snacking on an apple. But decided against saying anything, She continued eating. Silently listening to their conversation, she flinched when she heard someone squeal, and sat next to them. Enthusiastic sure, but she seemed nice enough. "Uh." Grace said gathering her thoughts, She gave her a friendly smile. "I'm Grace." Introducing herself.

Ash was relieved when Abigail came to sit down with her. There was always a little sliver of doubt that for some reason, she would be outcast. She smiled and started playing with a strand of hair as Abigail sat down. "Going so great," Ash replied sarcastically. In all honesty, her day hadn't been going horribly -- classes had been easy, if not boring. The most interesting thing had been meeting Rory earlier, but Ash knew that the fellow cheerleaders wouldn't care about some little new kid, so she chose to not mention it. "What about you? First day, final year, right?" Ash asked. That had to be good.

Of course, her attention was soon distracted by first Grace joining them, and then the new girl. Melody. Ash was surprised by her energy, but she quickly replaced that with a smile. "Hi, I'm Ash. Nice to meet you." She said with a smile. "Are you new to the school?" It was strange for anyone new to approach their table, but there had to be some kind of reason. Some kind of good reason... and Ash was secretly hoping that Abigail wouldn't be rude to her.

After all, if Abigail was rude, Ash would have to be. High school rules dictated it.

Winona walked into the office just as the bell rung, she saw the students exiting their classrooms, she heard a few people saying something about lunch. She turned back to the front desk and pulled out her phone to type in what she needed to say. *Hello, I'm new to the school and I need my schedule and locker number, please?* The woman looked at her kinda strangely and Winona shifted side to side on her feet. She took the phone back and typed again, *I'm Winona Marie Stratton, I'm unable to speak but I can hear perfectly fine, I just came for my schedule and locker number, please?* The woman, after reading it, finally turned around in her chair and started shuffling through some files, hopefully looking for what Winona needed. She pulled out a piece of paper with what looked like a list of classes, and wrote down a number on a sticky note, "Here you go, these are your classes and your locker number, have a good rest of your day." Winona nodded and mouthed a thank you and exited the room, she could still feel the woman's eyes on her back.

Winona eyes her schedule as she walked to find her locker, these all seem like pretty good classes, Winona lifted her head up from her schedule to try to avoid bumping into stray walkers. Number 207...207...207, oh! Here it is! She stopped in front of a locker and put all her stuff down trying to copy the combination given to her on the sticky note. After about 4 times she finally got it and set everything thing inside, then started organizing. Winona figured she could skip the awkwardness of trying to find a lunch table and organize her locker. Oooo, I wonder if they have a nice library? Oh! What if they have a swimming pool. Winona quickly got lost in thought not paying so much to her surroundings anymore.

After he was in the hallways, Kanen was quickly swept up into the flow of things, drifting with the other students as they moved to the Cafeteria. This was one thing he didn't miss, at least at home he wasn't on someone else's schedule. At home, lunch time was whenever he damn well pleased.

Once in the Cafeteria, things slowed down a bit. As he moved, younger students seemed split wherever he walked, desperate to avoid the boy with a reputation for violence. It was mildly amusing, younger girls stared while the younger boys ducked their heads...

Kanen's dark eyes swept the lunch room, falling upon the table Ash and the other cheerleaders sat at. In all honesty, Kanen wasn't too fond of cheerleaders. They always seemed to be gossiping, or worse, they were leading some annoying, tuneless cheer. They're desperate need to keep up appearances, Ash in particular, made them fun to tease. It wasn't too hard to get a rise out of them.

Approaching the table, Kanen didn't even ask before he took a seat among the cheerleaders. "I thought you knew everyone, Ash? Maybe your drinking too much, losing your memory." Kanen interrupted, taking the chocolate milk from some freshman's tray when they walked by.

"You always were a light weight." He continued, pulling a flask from his jacket and mixing whatever was inside with his stolen chocolate milk.

Ryan had sat through all his classes, his mind was racing as the last class was biology. He didn't mind the class, but he really didn't feel like being in class that day. His mind was on 7 when it should be at a 4. He felt a bit of freedom when he heard the bell ring, he relaxed a little. He saw his friend, Sawyer leaning against the wall. He sighed. Great she wanted to eat lunch togehter. They were good friends, and he liked hanging out with her, but she ditched him to go talk to a girl. He felt abandoned.

He slowly got up and walked out the door. "This place blows..." he said walking up to her. "I thought ab ok it cutting class like three time." He said chuckling. "So food?" He asked knowing she would say yes. He walked down the hallway next to her. Ryan was quite hungry and wouldn't mind get something to eat. But he also wanted to check his bike. He had just worked on it and wanted to check if everything was taken care of. "So how was the girl who almost hit us this morning?" He asked knowing exactly where she had gone to.

Melody Wright

"I'm Melody nice to meet you". She grinned at the girl who had just took a seat. Was she too excited? Will they like and accept her? Questions of uncertainty flooded her mind but she wouldn't let that make her nervous. Melody took a bite of her pizza and almost gaged at the evidence taste of cardboard that filled her mouth. "This food is horrible", she coughed as she reached from her water bottle. She turned her attention to the blond girl. "No I have been here for a while just wanted to try out for the team. Thought I should meet the team first!", she beamed as she continued to eat the stale pizza.

The Lunchtime Adventures of Neck-Tie Boy

Stu was literally itching for the bell to go. He’d spent the whole morning revisiting the exact moment the raven-haired monster sprang at him in the hallway like a jack-in-the-box, and how he dropped like a sack of potatoes. He wasn’t forgetting his first slice of an American education any time soon.

As soon as the bell cut through the air he sent himself packing in a hurry and scrambled off to the bathroom. It was empty when he arrived and stank of overflowing latrines. The boy stood gazing in the mirror at the bruise developing over his right eyebrow. Then he ran the tap and tried to wash it off like an idiot. That failing, he tried covering it with his hair, but his fringe wasn’t used to being told what to do and kept parting in the other direction.

Then a bunch of kids came through the door and gave him a look, like they’d never seen a kid with a neck-tie before. Stu pretended to be washing his hands. The tiled bathroom floor couldn’t have opened up and swallowed him any sooner.

When they left, Stu studied his pathetic image in the mirror one last time. He felt an urge to stick his own head in the toilet how big of a wank he looked. So Stu tore the tie violently from his neck and stuffed it into the nearest bin, like a slave throwing off his shackles. Then he untucked his shirt and gussied himself up in the mirror so that he at least looked like he was from the 21st century, and stormed out the bathroom.

. . .

Barely two minutes had passed and he was storming back in, rescuing his tie from the trash and straightening his sleeves and tucking his shirt back in. And then he was off again.

* * *

Now he was now sitting in front of Principal Nona’s office. A neck-tie boy and his chair. The clock on the wall ticked away, each minute chewing away into his lunch break. Whenever a teacher walked past him he would turn away to hide the bruise on his head. He adjusted and readjusted his tie and collar impulsively, like some regressing addict. This was easily the worst day of his life.

As usual, Jace constantly did his best to avoid running into any of the people coming down the hallway, on their way to lunch. Also as usual, he was heading in the opposite direction of everyone else, on his way to an unused classroom that he hid out in instead of going to lunch. After all, lunch was horrible, and Jace was not going to deal with that. This was his last year of school, and he was determined to make it through sad and alone. Even if Ash was trying to change that.

But, while walking, someone managed to shoulder check and Jace, being the lightweight that he was, went reeling from this and right into a girl standing in front of her locker. He tried to recover as quickly as possible, quickly spinning around, his face bright red. "O-Oh, I-I'm sorry..." He said, his hands gripping the edges of his yellow beanie tightly as he started pulling it down over his head, although his fluffy blonde hair wouldn't let the beanie slip much farther down. "I... I didn't... I mean... I'm sorry... they..." his words were a jumbled mess, much like Jace himself, and he found himself having to take a deep breath to try and right himself and what he wanted to say. "I'm sorry. P-please don't be mad. I-I... uh... yeah..." Finally, deflated and done, Jace shut up.

Principal Nona had tried to take watching over Stu seriously, but other first day drama had kept her elsewhere while the fight... or, well, while the other kid beat up Stu had been happening. She was peeved. She was mad. She was ready to fight, but that wouldn't solve the issues. So instead, she had the perfect plan to help Stu through his first few days while adjusting to Westbrook. And that was Drake, who was sitting in her office, slouched in a chair and staring up at the ceiling while she finished explaining to him what his duties were. Drake explained that he was listening, even if it didn't look like it. Nona believed him. She also asked why his eyes were so red. He said allergies. And of course, Nona believed him.

Finally finished, Principal Nona opened up her door and looked down at Stu. "Please, come in." She said, smiling down at the young boy, although inwardly she was cringing at his tie, as she stepped back into her office. Nona returned to her seat at the desk, smiling as she waited to see Stu's reaction to her gift of Drake.

Xenon
original (3).gif
Xenon wasn't particularly excited for lunch. At all. He'd always been a friendly enough guy and sure he had friends in the art club but...well he wasn't the best at approaching people and actually asking to sit with them. Most of the time he left campus to go eat by himself somewhere else, but today he'd resolved to try and find someone to sit with. He realised as he stood in the cafeteria with his tray in hand the this wouldn't be as easy as he thought. There were way too many people in the cafeteria in the first place and it was making him a little too nervous.

Brown eyes darted across the room and Xenon eventually gave up and shuffled to a corner table near the exit and settled in. He closed his eyes for a few moments and tried to block out the noise flowing around him and concentrate on his own thoughts, but they weren't much better. Xenon shook his head and reached to pull his algebra book out of his bag with his father's words echoing through his head.

"You need to do well this year, Xenon. It's extremely important you get into a good college. No slacking off like you did last year always painting."

Xenon sighed and hunkered down over his book with his tray pushed to the side. He suddenly found himself no longer hungry and a bit sad. "No slacking off this year, Xenon. Stop painting, Xenon. Make good grades, Xenon. Have realistic dreams, Xenon. Quit dreaming, Xenon. Blah blah blah." Xenon hit his fist against his book and it fell to the floor rather loudly. He cringed as he reached down to pick it back up, hoping no one had seen him.

Winona jumped, startled by the sudden collision and turned around immediately, her eyes wide. Behind her stood a blonde haired, flushed cheeked boy, Just my luck to have a cute boy to bump into the awkward mute girl, she thought to herself. Winona started to sign, It's ok, you're fine, but slowly put her hands down remembering that nobody signed here. She reached for her pocket to get her phone, she felt the blood creep up to her cheeks in embarrassment for not being able to simply say it was ok. Winona pulled out her phone and typed as fast as she could, It's ok, I was just startled I'm not mad or anything. She smiled hopefully reassuring him that it was fine. Winona noticed that his yellow beanie kept getting pulled lower and lower over his head and she chuckled to herself, thinking, Trust me, I feel the same way dude.

Jace was confused by her not responding, and then was even more confused when she pulled out her phone. For a moment, he thought that maybe this was her way of saying to get the hell away, but then she turned the screen towards him. He leaned forward to read the words, and then he relaxed a bit, loosening his grip on his hat. Carefully, he readjusted and then nervously, slid his hands into his pockets, smiling at her. Of course, his smile was a little uncomfortable because Jace wasn't used to smiling at people. Most of the time, Jace just looked startled or scared -- mainly because he was always startled or scared.

"Thanks... a lot of people would uh..." he shrugged, unable to really concoct what else he wanted to add in. "You know, fight me or something. This school is kind of violent..." Jace trailed off, his faint smile turning into a frown for a moment. "Anyway, uh... are you uh... are you new and headed to the, uh, cafeteria? For food...?" Wow, what a way to try and continue conversation.

Ash was going to respond to Melody and say something like, wow, so excited you're joining! Or something along those lines, but Kanen's abrupt appearance caused her to jump once more, until she realized who it was. She rolled her eyes, although a small smile tugged at her lips as she turned her attention away from the cheerleaders to him for a moment.

Whereas most people would be uncomfortable with approaching a table filled with cheerleaders -- particularly Abigail and Grace -- Kanen was, of course, not bothered. It was one of the things Ash admired about him. Actually, probably the only thing. Well, and his ability to get the best alcohol and other things for her parties, speaking of which...

"First off, I don't know new people. Second off, I am not a lightweight, and I don't have memory loss." She said, ticking the things off on her fingers, then Ash gave him a huge smile, leaning forward a bit as she explained the second part. "And I can show you how I am not a lightweight at my party on Friday which by the way, you have to come to." Partying with Kanen would be fun, and Ash kind of wanted to see him out and about more. Locking himself away from everyone wasn't healthy. "And not just because I need you to get me alcohol and... stuff. Although like, obviously that's part of it."

Ash raised an eyebrow as he mixed the chocolate milk with whatever was in his flask. "What are you...? Who mixes alcohol with chocolate milk? That just sounds disgusting." She said, wrinkling up her nose.

Stu was still fidgeting with his neck-tie when the door flew open and there stood the petite figure of Principal Nona in her fiercely brilliant pantsuit. For some reason, he was expecting the audience of an old and grey woman. He’d assumed those were the sort of people assigned to such high offices. To the contrary Principal Nona seemed to be quite young, possibly in her 30s, and this was somewhat surprising to the boy.

A case in point. His old headmaster at St. Catherine’s, Mr. Wickham, had been a priestly old gentleman, who in his time had seen the dinosaurs and outflanked several ice ages. It was widely rumoured that he personally caused the Neanderthals to go extinct.

Such were the ancient codgers that instilled in Stu a superior sense of fashion, which he had inevitably brought with him to Westbrook. The boy was oozing with style, clearly. As Stu's father had told him, you can never have too much dapper. . . Westbrook just wasn’t ready for him yet.

For all the things he told himself to sleep better at night, Stu was under no illusion that he looked like the biggest twat to have ever graced the wide halls of Westbrook High. At least Principal Nona didn’t seem to mind his neck-tie. She might even have appreciated a bit of class. But he suddenly realised that there was another kid in the office as well. And this made him a little nervous -- only God knew why he was there. The boy with the neck-tie sat down evading eye contact with the older kid and waited politely to be enlightened.

Kanen chuckled. "You don't drink it for the taste, it's easier to sneak it into a carton of milk then whip out a flask all the time." He explained."That's besides the point though. I bet I could drink each of you under the table at this party of yours." Kanen proclaimed, motioning towards the other cheerleaders at the table.

"In fact, I'll make a bet out of it too." He continued, flashing a cocky, sarcastic grin. "I'll bring shit to your party, you out drink me, it's free. I out drink you, you pay double." He paused thinking of a way to sweeten the deal, "And—If I win, you'll all be eating your lunches on the ground, by the garbage. You're little private table is mine." He finished, pointing over his shoulder with his thumb back towards the garbage cans where you'd dump your tray when you were done.

Realistically, it'd be silly to challenge so many people to a drink on contest. However, Kanen was confident they wouldn't even take him up on his offer. Even if they did, he doubted he'd have to outdrink more than one or two of them. Regardless, it'd be an excuse to drink until he dropped, and hopefully hit his head on something hard.

Tera had gone through her first day of school the same like any other day, barely paying attention and looking out the window. She hated school. Going there, having to be a Good Girl Like her mother would say. Tera hated it, she hated everyone, she hated the world. She thought she had the right to. She was so angry. So enraged for no reason. Hell, she'd take on anyone on. She'd knocked people twice her size before. She liked the challenge. It was fun. Testing her strength, that was the fun part. Licking the salt off a wound that would never go away. Her scars were obvious, but she didn't care. She wanted people to see. Those were her battle scars.

When lunch was called she breathed a sigh of relief as she was let go. She went through the line quick. After she had her food she needed a place to sit. This was the time that she had seen Kanen. Now Tera was fearless. If she had to fight a bear with nothing but a knife, she'd have a nice bear skin rug. She walked over to the cheerleader table and sat across from him. She looked to the other girls. "Is this Neanderthal bothering you?" She said turning her attention back to Kanen. She could smell the whiskey from there. "Don't you think it's a little early for that?" She asked grabbing a fork and took a scoop from her green peas and took a bite. "But then again maybe daddy dearest didn't teach you that it wasn't the best to start this early... Oh wait he's not there anymore, Neither is mommy either... Why don't you leave these lovely ladies alone. You wouldn't have a chance in hell if you were a nice guy so take a hint and beat it before that teacher..." She said pointing to the gym teacher who was also the football coach who was standing about 10 feet away. "Get's a whiff of that Jim Beam you got there and sends you away..." She said with a devilish smile. "And before you think about touching me, or any of these ladies. Remember the football players would drag you out and gut you before you could do anything..."

Nicole's classes were actually easier then she had thought they were going to be. Thanks to her homeschooling, everything that the teachers taught was very easy to grasp. She walked out of the class and to her locker. Her mother had made her a lunch. She was so happy. Her mother knew exactly what Nicole liked, and would make it for her. She smiled as she pulled out a brown lunch bag from her locker. She had followed all the other kids to the cafeteria. After a bit of searching she still couldn't find the boy that she had talked to. A little defeated she walked over and sat at a table with a couple of people at it. They didn't really talk that much with her. They were more or less talking about classes and other stuff.

Nicole was sitting alone. Some might think that was sad, but Nicole was more or less trying to eat her lunch before going back to classes and finish out the day. She smiled as she took the first bite of her food. It was so good. To her nothing else mattered except eating what was in her lunch.

Grace

Grace looked towards the aspiring cheerleader and smiled, "Well, It's good to meet you. I'm sure you'll do great at tryouts." Before she could say more Kanen walked up to the table, and sat down. while speaking mostly towards Ash, Grace rolled her eyes. And scooted a bit farther from him, Kanen loved to bother them.

And It wasn't exactly pleasing with him around. She pulled out her phone, browsing absent-mindedly. Desperately trying to tune out Kanen's antics. But she did hear Kanen say that he could out drink them all, without looking up from her phone, She cocked a brow, and mumbled under her breath.

"I'm sure being a teenage alcoholic would give you a few benefits in winning." She normally wouldn't say anything. She'd brush him off, like she almost always does. But these past few weeks Grace has been a bit-testy, but she regretted what she said right after she had said it. She looked up from her phone, and opened her mouth to apologize but before she could, Tera came up to the table, and sat across from them. asking if he was bothering them, Grace opened her mouth to speak once again, But Tera spoke a few harsh words to Kanen, worse than what Grace had just said, She cleared her throat and looked away from them. Attempting to escape from the confrontation that just happened in-front of her. Although Tera might've laid-into him a bit much, Grace never really talked much to Tera, but knew her. Many of students knew of people, but never they never really know them. But nevertheless, Grace was impressed. She gave a small nod in Tera's direction, and mouthed "Thanks."

"We really need more friends. Eating alone, just us two; it gets lonely". Angelina muttered, getting out her compact mirror and checking her makeup. "Sam, is my makeup okay? Did I miss anything"? Angelina wanted to look perfect for the animal shelter; for James mainly.
"Relax, Angie, you look perfect. If it's James you're worried about..." Samantha reassure her before sighing softly as Angelina got out her mini make-up kit. "Why don't I do it, if you're that concerned. Plus, you struggle doing eyeliner without your glasses". Angelina nodded, Samantha going round and sitting next to her. "Why don't you look around a little? See if we can find someone to sit with? 'Til I get to your eyes"?

Angelina nodded, again, Samantha redoing Angelina's makeup quickly yet carefully. Looking around, whilst staying as still as possible, Angelina found a table with only a sjngle person sitting. She pointed the table out to her sister, Samantha then taking off Angelina's glasses and putting them on their table and starting on her eyeliner and eyeshadow.

Once Angelina's makeup was all done, the sisters made their way to the table. Just a single girl sitting alone.
"Excuse me, is it alright if we join you"? Samantha asked the girl.

Sawyer

Sawyer blanched at Ryan as they walked toward the cafeteria and slapped him with the end of her twizzler. She was slightly offended he had considered leaving her to fend for herself for the rest if the day and made a point to tell him such.

"You can't ditch without me. I hate this place and you're my only friend." Sawyer's eyes widened and she pulled her beanie down over her eyes with a groan, "My god. I don't know what I'm going to do when you graduate."

When Ryan started talking about Grace Sawyer couldn't help the hunt of a smile that graced her face. Even of she'd only interacted with the girl twice, one of those times she almost hit Sawyer with her car, but the girl had been more than happy to play along with Sawyer when she'd approached her. Of course, Sawyer hadn't even given her a name because she didn't play fair that was one thing Grace had gotten right.

"Her name's Grace." Sawyer informed Ryan as they entered the cafeteria and made their way over to the lunch line, "She's cool, I think. Helps that she's like really pretty." Sawyer picked up a fry and pointed it at Ryan menacingly, "I call dibs, Mr. Player. Don't get any ideas. Besides, I have an excellent gaydar and well..." She grinned and shrugged as she plopped her fry into her mouth and exited the lunch line.

"Where do you want to sit?" She questioned her friend over her shoulder.
