Aaron

Aaron snapped up into proper form as Drake entered, glancing to him with half-open, almost bored eyes before smiling carefully.

He hadn’t seen Drake recently, and the realization gnawed at him. “Of course you can join us,” he agreed, wondering if the affirmation would make him feel like a better friend.

He couldn’t fight a glance to Maisie, and then her piece, and a small smile tugged onto his mouth, more genuine now.

“How have you been, Drake?”

Casper

Casper nodded once, then twice, teeth digging into his lip as he was questioned. He couldn’t quite fight a smile at Tom’s comment on his skills, even as his gaze returned to his art, waiting.

Finally, after what felt much too long a wait, the picture was returned to its rightful place, and Casper smiled tersely, eyes lifting to the bow-tied stranger’s face as he spoke, stomach curdling slightly as he thought about what response his words might incur.

Before anything could happen, he mumbled, “Thank you…” He pursed his lips, finally pulling out his jacket.

Despite everything, he didn’t want this conversation to end. Not when it was the first real positive conversation he had had without his brother in months.

“It’s really cold outside, huh?” He glanced to the pair warily. “And snowy.”

He paused, frowning, then pulled out his sketchbook before shutting his notebook. “I’m glad I don’t have to walk home in it…”

Juliette
original.gif

She glanced over at Sawyer as she sat down next to her, JJ knew what she was doing, but it wasn't working. "No, you idiot. About... " About? It took Juliette a moment to find the words, because she wasn't even sure what she considered the pregnancy to be. She was only 16! Her mind shouldn't have to go here; she should be planning what college to go to, as if she was even that smart anyway. "I don't think I wanna... like, get rid of it." She could hardly believe her own words; but it was true.

Sure, her parents could care less, her relationships never worked out, there was always someone better or they just decided they didn't want her anymore. They decided just like Ava did. "I mean, It's... like... mine, my baby." She cringed at the words, Juliette never would've thought she'd become a mother. Maybe, like in the future when she was thirty years old or something, but she hasn't even figured out what she wanted to do much less have a child. "They'd be helpless, y'know? They wouldn't just get up and walk away, maybe... I don't know." Maybe the fact that someone would love her for who she was, well, it just felt like too big of a thing to give up so quickly.

"I don't know what I'm going to do, but what if I wanna keep them?" If she kept talking she'd be on the verge of tears but it was too late, now there was a crying JJ in the hallway crying over her unborn baby. She shook her head and pointed at one of the posters. "Jesus, I'm a mess. I'm dealing with all this dumb stuff, now I'm running for prom queen, and I don't even have a date." Juliette sniffled, wiping a stray tear that'd fallen too far.

Sawyer

Sawyer honestly had no idea what to say. She understood JJ's thoughts, of course. There had never really been anyone in JJ's life who stuck around for too long, a feeling Sawyer could relate to on more than one level, and a baby wasn't going to leave. That was one thing that was certain. That kid was going to be someone that loved her. JJ really needed that. But she also needed someone right now and if whatever dumbass was that kids dad wasn't going to show up, well Sawyer wasn't planning on flaking out anytime soon. Truth be told both of them needed someone to lean on right now. Sawyer felt alone and so did JJ. It might be for two very different reasons but it was the same feeling. She honestly hated the hell out of it. So, JJ wasn't looking like such a bad rock right now. Maybe they needed eachother.

Sawyer knew it wasn't her place to say anything about the baby. That was completely JJ's decision so she just kinda sat and listened while JJ talked about it. She even tried to put herself in that situation, lord knows how that would happen, and couldn't seem to decide what she would do either. A kid was a big responsibility and Sawyer was quite possibly the most irresponsible person ever to exist, but kids were also pretty cool cause they loved you no matter what and all that gooey stuff. Sawyer figured she wanted st least like four...or five. They were cute and she liked kids. Maybe she should've babysitted more. Sawyer probably could've made bank and had fun with small humans. Damn. Missed opportunities. Maybe JJ would let her babysit her kid? Awe, now she wanted her to keep it.

"I think you could be a great mom. As long as I get to be like...an aunt or something. I don't have any siblings. Please let me be an aunt. You can be my kids aunt too. I'll have cute kids." Sawyer blinked as JJ said something about not having a prom date.

"Yes you do." Sawyer said almost immediately without even thinking.

Kanen
The little Bowtie kid was about as bad as his sister with that attitude of his, but he at least could follow directions. After he put the drawing back, Kanen released his shoulder, taking a moment to smooth the wrinkle with exaggerated motions. "Kid, your shirt should be the least of your worries. This is fuckin' Westbrook for god sakes." He grumbled. He looked over the other boy quickly, who still seemed pretty shy, but was at least smiling now. Better than nothing. Either way, he still needed to find Stu. The Brit was the only reason Kanen was swinging by in Westbrook, though now it seemed like he was going to end up staying for longer than he initially planned for.

Kanen took one last group at the two of them before deciding he was satisfied. He shrugged at the shy boy's comment sand stuffed his hands into his pockets. "Either of you see Stu anytime soon, tell him Kanen is trying to find him." He advised. With it said and done, Kanen just went along on his merry way again. No reason to stick around and try to push his nose into a conversation that he really wasn't all that interested in.

A great mom, huh. That alone brought a smile to JJ's face and subsided some of the years, at least someone though so; she wasn't exactly sure what the hell she was doing, but that's something she wanted-- needed to hear. Even if she hadn't made up her mind yet, for the first time; JJ felt like she actually had a choice. "Okay, okay, just shut up. You can be whatever kind of aunt you wanna be." She fought against a smile as she faced Sawyer. So maybe JJ wasted all those years on Lexi and should've hung out with the loner yet popular jock.

Sawyer was special, even if not everyone saw it.

Juliette looked around the empty hallway as to prove her point. "No, seriously, I don't." Maybe just someone hadn't thought about asking out a maybe pregnant chick. So what if she gained a few pounds, whoever didn't ask her to prom because of that deserved a total fuck you. Okay, so maybe the pregnancy is taking a toll on her mood swings too, it's still early.

Ana stopped the jiggling of the door as a familiar voice sounded out behind her. She turned to see Tatum a few feet away and couldn’t help but feel a little bit relieved. If she was stuck in this school, at least she wouldn’t be completely alone. Even if they didn’t talk a lot, she still enjoyed being around the blonde. Tatum was willing to fill the silence between them and Ana was always happy to listen, even if she couldn’t give the best advice.

She gave a small smile before nodding and walking over to Tatum before heading to the girl’s locker with her. She pulled out her customary small notepad and pen, so she could at least ask some questions and give some responses and she did just that. She scribbled some questions down before showing it to Tatum.

How was your day?__Has this sort of thing ever happened before?___Do you really thing they’ll keep us here until tomorrow?

She really hoped not. She could still remember the last time she had been to the school after hours. It was a lot more empty than it was now and was really creepy. Plus, she had the unfortunate and very painful experience of running into someone dangerous. If Derek hadn't been there, she would have wound up in a lot worse condition. Still, the thought of him pained her both inside and out. Her elbow still pulsed with pain every now and again. The stitches she had done herself had done the job, but she was no doctor and it didn’t heal as properly as it should have.

Ash
Actual SMILE.gif

Maybe jumping straight to alcohol was a horrible idea, but it was Ash's way of coping. Kanen had just walked back in without any sort of recognition of her and, yeah, that hurt way more than she would like to admit. And now they were stuck in the school all night, on the most romantic day of the year -- not that Ash had had anything planned.

Sebastian's suggestion did catch her attention, though. She had opened up her locker and was rummaging through it for the other bottle of alcohol she had hidden inside, when Sebastian suggested the home ec room. Ash paused for a moment, then put her water bottle of definitely not water inside, closing her locker and following after him.

"Alright, you have my attention. Totally forgot you were a barista." She said with a laugh that was more than a little forced. "Hot chocolate?" Ash asked, hopefully -- she wasn't a fan of coffee, but at the same time, how would they even get coffee inside the high school? It had to be hot chocolate and yeah, that was the only thing better than vodka.

Ash followed after him, a smile forming on her face that maybe wasn't that forced. "You're a surprisingly positive person." She admitted. But hey, that was what she liked about him.

Drake
Welp Down.gif

How have you been?

That felt like a loaded question. And one that immediately threw Drake onto, well, kind of the defensive. He was more fidgety, tapping his fingers against his the sides of his legs, uncomfortably rolling his shoulders, while his eyes darted around, unable to focus on either Maisie or Aaron. "I've been great." He said. A total lie. "Kind of sucks being alone for Valentine's Day, though." He tried to laugh, but it died immediately on his tongue. "Umm... yeah, I've been fine. How... how have you two been?"

When he asked it, his gaze settled more on Maisie than Aaron. Aaron may have have been his friend, but there was something about Maisie that kept him going from day to day. "I, ah... Maisie, I actually wanted... to uh... ask if you wanted to go to prom with me?" This wasn't at all how he had planned to ask her, but Drake couldn't keep waiting.

"I'm clean now. I promise." And yeah, he was clean for her. Drake hadn't ever wanted her to look at him in that way again, and for once, he'd actually stuck to his metaphorical guns and stayed clear of drugs.

Mason
Hair Flip.gif

His gaze trailed after Sam as she made her way over to the window. He could see her reflection in the glass as she spoke, wondering if what he wanted was someone to be a mother.

Well... he'd be lying if he said no. Any serious relationship that Mason was in would have to end up the same way: the girl loving Ari as much as he did, and willing to step up as her mother. Sure, Adriane was back in the picture, but that didn't mean Mason could be with someone that wasn't going to be there for his daughter. Ari came first.

"It's... I mean..." Mason stuttered, and then tore his gaze away from Sam's reflection, instead looking at the ground in front of him. His hands slid into the pockets of his jacket, forming fists. "Ari's mom is still in the picture, or... well, at least right now she is. She's kind of in and out... a lot. So not... totally, but... I mean... eventually, if we theoretically stayed together for a while then like, yeah... I'd want you to be like a mom to her." Was that the right answer? God, was there even a right answer?

"I'm not asking you to drop everything and be like a mother to her now, but... I do want you to know that if we were to stay together for a while, then... yeah." Mason's gaze moved from the ground back to Sam's reflection in the glass. "That's the goal. I can't just... date girls that aren't ever going to be interested in Ari."

Sawyer

Sawyer grinned back at JJ, proud of herself for being able to make her smile. She also pumped her fist with a 'yes' as JJ told her she could be an aunt. Maybe she was a little too excited about that but, come on, she'd be the coolest aunt ever and that was nothing but a fact. She was glad JJ seemed to be a little better after her slight mental breakdown in the middle of the hallway. Sawyer seemed to be pretty good and just being and idiot to make people smile. Sawyer Andrews, certified counselor. Come to her with all your problems and she'll throw a tortilla at you to make you feel better. The element of surprise. Unfortunately, she didn't have any tortillas at the moment but her improvisation seemed to have worked pretty damn well.

JJ switched back to the subject of her not having a prom date. Sawyer smiled as she glanced around the hallway, as if looking for someone who was coming to ask her. When no one came she turned back to Sawyer and reaffirmed her point that she did not have a prom date. Sawyer grinned that same lopsided grin that always managed to make it's way onto her face around people she liked.

"Yes you do." She leaned her head on JJ's shoulder and spoke in a sing songy voice, "It's meeee." Sawyer didn't have a date either and she seriously doubted she would at this point so, why the hell not?

"Grace, I never took you for a bad girl." She said with a fake gasp as they "broke into" the cafeteria. The nerves started to fall a way and instead, there was a wide grin on her face as Keisha followed her into the cafeteria. Within minutes, Grace had arrived with pudding and spoons, and the two were seated on top of the tables.

Was this what heaven was like?

"Delicious miracles are still pretty sweet." Like you. But that wasn't something Keisha would ever speak aloud, even if it was all that she could think about inside of her head.

"You remind me a lot of first crush." Well, that was probably because it was Grace, but Keisha wasn't about to tell her that. "She was really sweet, too, and had these little pigtails." A faint smile crossed Keisha's face. "It was my first day of kindergarten. Knew right then and there that I liked girls." Keisha never had to beat around the bush.

Neck Tie

oWlPYew.gif

‘I know it’s broken,’ Neck Tie said. ‘It’s a computer, Ari – not a TV. A computer.’ With the girl on his lap he then spun around on the chair and pointed over to the TV behind them. ‘That’s a TV. . . but don’t break it too, OK?’

He forced a smile and sniffled, then wiped his eyes with the scruff of his shirt. He took the juice box off Ari’s hand which she had finished, putting it on the counter. He tried to act normal. The last thing he needed was for her to think something was wrong, or that it was her fault he was crying.

‘N. . . nothing,’ he said. ‘I’m not listening to anything.’

Ari was pulling his headphones, and Neck Tie let her to do this because they were his headphones, not Mason’s. He shouldn’t have been so surprised when she let go and it came bounding back smacking him in the head.

Neck Tie clutched his temples and rubbed the pain away. OK, best to put the headphones away now. Just as he was about to take them off, though, he heard ringing in his ears. The AceOfRoses guy was calling him. What could he possibly want from him?

Anyway he still unplugged the headphones and switched to using the laptop’s speakers, so now even Ari could hear the ringing too. Should he take the call? Neck Tie was reluctant – on the one hand, he didn’t want to talk to any of his FIFA teammates ever again, on the other it would have been rude not to answer. With a weak sigh he moved the cursor over the ‘Accept call’ button and clicked it.

Now the call was live. Meanwhile Ari was asking for her dad.

‘. . .Your daddy’s gonna be away for a while longer,’ he told her. ‘He'll be back soon. For now you get to play with me. We’ll find something fun to do, OK? . . . Soon.’

He reassured the girl with another playful flick of the nose. Still he hadn’t greeted AceOfRoses. Nope, this wasn’t a conversation he was looking forward to having at all.

Mason’s answers were mostly expected, but it didn’t make Sam feel any better. In fact, it just made her feel worse. She didn’t know what it was like to have a child and all the feelings that came with it and didn’t know if she ever wanted to. If she did it wouldn’t be anytime in the next decade or longer. She did like Mason, a lot more than she thought she would, but she didn’t know if she liked him this much.

“I… really don’t know, Mason.” Her voice was quiet and she pressed her forehead against the window. It was chilly, to say the least, but it didn’t feel bad. “I can’t make a decision about something like this so easily and I just… don’t think I’m ready.” Which was absolutely true. She didn’t have her life together at all, even for a teenager. She couldn’t stay in a club or on a team for more than a few weeks because she was so indecisive. She certainly didn’t have a stable home life and the only one she had to deal with was her mother. She couldn’t even imagine being the mother.

“I wanted to make this work. I really really wanted to try. But you know what you want, at least out of a relationship. I don’t even know how long it will take for me to decide, if I even can. You don’t deserve to have to wait on something like that.” She wrapped her arms around herself and turned around, leaning against the windowsill and looked at him, kind of. She couldn’t really bear to look into his eyes. She stared at his hands and bit her lip nervously. “I really don’t know what to do, Mason.”

"Get off of me." Juliette shrugged making distance between the two, narrowing her eyes as if she was trying to read the blonde. "Really?" So, yeah. She'd much rather go with someone who was actually interested in her and vice versa. But Sawyer was a great exception and she'd rather go with her than go alone, so... why not? At least if Sawyer's making out with another girl at prom she wouldn't be upset by it.

Oh. My Gosh.

They could even match.

Without warning, the girl who previously ignored all physical contact with her, wrapped her into the tightest hug. Juliette wasn't really a hugger but... -- she wanted to do it.

Caleb
HardHideousAdder-small.gif

He was momentarily taken back by the hug but returned it nonetheless; Tatum was a sweet girl and he could definitely see him becoming friends with her, or... well, never mind. Not many people ever liked Caleb anyway. "Yeah, sure." He smiled and gave her a small wave as she left the gym, only now focusing on Serena with a tang of guilt. He didn't mean all those things that happened in their relationship.

He wasn't him when he was drinking, it left him to make poor decisions with other girls-- which only stayed at flirting, whatever Serena's friends told her never happened. He wouldn't of ever cheated on her. Intoxicated or not.

Even though they aren't together anymore, Caleb made it a point to stick to his obesity, he wasn't an addict of course, but he didn't want to become one. "Uh, Yeah. She's pretty nice." He wasn't sure what to say beyond that; Tatum was! But after all he only just met her, despite probably being the one who had the ability to make him smile... she was still a stranger.

Serena wasn't. Well, she didn't used to be. "Wanna play?" He rose an eyebrow towards her awaiting her answer. They didn't always have to have awkward interactions, it was just a friendly game.

Sawyer

Sawyer blinked. JJ had just crushed into her and she was kind of at a loss at the moment. She hadn't expected her to be that excited about it. The whole head on her shoulder thing had simply been to annoy her and when JJ shrugged her off that seemed to have worked, but now here she was, being hugged by JJ. She sat there frozen for a moment before letting out a huff of a laugh and returning JJ's hug quickly with a pat on her back and quickly removing herself from JJ's arms. That was enough physical contact for one day.

"Yes, really." She straightened her jacket from the surprise hug as she spoke, "What, do you need me to make you a sign or some cheesy shit?" Sawyer questioned, leaning her head back against the wall with raised eyebrows, "Do you need to take pictures, JJ? I feel like your that kind of person. Nothing against it, of course, I'd want to flaunt me too." She had a distinct feeling that JJ probably liked to post stuff like that all over her Instagram and Twitter and wherever the hell else you could put that stuff. She regretted asking the question the second it came out of her mouth. Sawyer had most likely just roped herself into something completely overrated and ridiculous. At least she thought it was ridiculous now, it didn't matter that she'd actually done that kind of stuff when she asked Grace to homecoming. That thought made her frown. She probably would've done something even more ridiculous had she had the chance to ask Grace to prom. But that was nigh impossible now and besides, if she had Grace hadn't broken up she probably wouldn't be sitting here with JJ right now. She never would've taken her to the clinic, hell thay probably would've never even talked to each other. At least something good came of something that still hurt her. JJ was pretty okay. More than okay and Sawyer needed someone that was more than okay right now.

"Wait, shit, you're not allowed to take pictures of me."

Grace played with the spoon, tapping it against the pudding cup while she listened to Keisha and a smile came across her face. "You think I'm sweet?" She shook her head, that wasn't at all what she was supposed to grasp from that conversation. "Sorry, sorry, I had a similar thing too, but I thought that maybe I just admired them, it was only ten years later I realized that I wasn't just staring at girls' lips because I enjoyed the color of their chapstick."

Scooping a spoonful of chocolate into her mouth before she laid down onto the table. -- it was big enough for the two of them, despite it being a little cramped. Grace didn't mind. "I wish I could've had your confidence. In kindergarten I just kept giving this one girl these tiny paper hearts I cut out, but like secretly, I would slip them into her folder when she wasn't looking." If only young Grace knew she was doing that because she liked her and not because she wanted to give her a surprise gift. "My girl didn't have pigtails, instead I did." A small laugh escaped her and she turned to look at Keisha. "Y'know, it's weird. You kinda remind me of her."

Grace squinted the slightest bit. "I think it's your eyes." She wouldn't pick apart favorites from anyone, that'd probably be rude. But if she had to. It'd be Keisha's eyes.

What? They were pretty.

Alone for Valentine's Day? He wasn't with Belle anymore? -- Oh shit. Right. He mentioned something about moving in with Raven a while ago, she just hadn't thought about it until now. They broke up? "I've been okay." That's as far as Maisie would go with it. She hasn't been amazing, but... it could be worse if she'd compare it to other foster homes or towns she lived in.

In Dayton, there were these stories about some kid that died, rumor has it that whoever killed him moved to WestBrook but Maisie hadn't thought about it much, it was probably just a dumb myth. Because really? A murderer in Westbrook? That could never happen, this place was almost boring compared to the other places Maisie lived at.

Her heart dropped when Drake had asked her to prom. She didn't think that he wasn't with Belle anymore! -- That wouldn't of stopped her from asking Aaron though, of course it wouldn't. Who ever said that? "Oh." It took a moment for Maisie to gather up the words to try and let him down softly, but she didn't know what to say. "I'm... going with Aaron, actually." Great, that was a good choice of words.

"Um, I have to use the bathroom I'll be back bye." And with that, Maisie rushed out of the room with a deep breath.

What was the big deal? Why did she feel gulity about going with Aaron? She liked Aaron.

But... maybe she liked Drake too.

Tatum had looked over as she noticed Ana bringing out her notebook to ask questions. She never asked her why she didn’t speak, it seemed rude, so she had chosen to just go along with Ana. As they continued on to her locker Tatum looked at the scribbled notes from Ana before handing her back her the notebook. She shrugged a little as they walked, “Day hasn’t been too bad. Met a cute guy he seems friendly, but they all seem friendly so here’s to hoping” She crossed her fingers with a small wry smile. Tatum was still a girl after all and she kind of hoped that maybe someone would end up liking her. Granted she knew that wouldn’t happen at least not for her because that never really happened for her. As they rounded the corner to her locker, “I don’t know if this has happened before to be straightforward and I really hope the snow lets up but so far it looks like we are stuck.”

Once they got to her locker, she spun the dial three times before she started her combination 10-17-3 and the locker was opened. “Now where did I put it?” she opened up a few water bottles sniffing each one until she came across the right one. She had been hiding liquor in her water bottles for a while keeping them in her locker for rough days that she couldn’t handle. She then rummaged in her coat around the inner pocket pulling out a flask. “Please don’t judge me. I don’t have a problem. I think we’re meeting up with Ash, but I’ll have to double check through Twitter. Girl is hard to get in touch with.” She pulled up her phone quickly tagging Ash in a message wondering if they were good to meet at her locker. She sat down on the floor by her locker patting the spot next to her for Ana, “You don’t have to drink unless you want to.” Tatum said as she brought the water bottle to her lips. It burned going down, but she hated being at the school and right now she was stuck so she knew it was better to at least make her time more enjoyable.

It was pretty freaking amazing of Sawyer to take her to prom. Not a lot of people were exactly thrilled to take the maybe-pregnant chick, but... it meant a lot to JJ that she was willing to take her. Perking up at the mention of pictures and signs; of course she needed those things! Juliette wasn't going to allow herself to look like a last-minute pity date! This had to be perfect for Instagram.

"You're correct. No offense taken, now stand up, we're making a promposal with my posters." Juliette didn't waste any time getting to work, taking a few flyers and working on spelling 'P R O M ?' perfectly with the little miniature papers of herself. What? It's not like there was anyone here, who cares? So, yeah, Juliette mentioned earlier that she was getting tired of the popular crowd but that didn't mean she was done with it completely, she had to keep up appearances! And that meant looking like a big deal to someone else. "What? Why? I'm sure you won't look that ugly, don't worry."

Juliette had got her phone out and made motions with her hand so Sawyer can fix the remaining of the posters.

"Okay, now stand to the left, and smile."

"This is stupid." Sawyer muttered through her smile as she did as JJ told her too. It was kind of stupid. She looked awkward standing there under the letters spelled out with JJ's face. Sawyer had a very large dislike for having her picture taken, something that she'd had since she was a child much to her father's dismay. She could remember literally running away from him once when he tried to take a picture of her in her Halloween costume one year. She ran away into the street. Where she almost got hit by a truck. Sawyer was an extremely intelligent child. Oliver almost cried. They'd been staying with her grandmother at the time and that woman put the fear of god into Sawyer on more than one occasion. Sawyer shivered at the memory, she was still afraid of sticks to this day.

"Okay. You're done." Sawyer stepped out of frame and quickly scampered over to pick up the rest of the flyers. There was still a ton of these that needed to be put up and Sawyer didn't feel like having to hang flyers all night. Not that it really mattered anyway, they were stuck in here. Maybe she could find an opportunity to mess with whatchamacallit again. Or maybe she should just stick with JJ. The last thing Sawyer wanted was Grace getting mad at her for being a nuisance or whatever. Maybe the annoying thing wasn't the best approach in the first place. But how the hell else was she supposed to get Grace's attention? She didn't seem like she wanted to talk to her at all otherwise. It might be easier to just talk to her, but Sawyer was a stubborn fool and she wanted Grace to come to her not the other way around.

"Do you wanna put some of these in the cafeteria?" She asked JJ, counting out the rest of them as she walked toward her, "Everyone would see them in there. I'm sure the lunch ladies would appreciate it if we plastered flyers all over their precious healthy food flyers. At least you're less annoying to look at." Sawyer smiled at JJ, "Sometimes."

At first Tallulah was very concerned that she had genuinely offended Jackson, which was definitely not her intention. She thought it was actually adorable that Jackson admitted to being a hopeless romantic. After a few seconds of analyzing his face though she picked up on the possibility of him just teasing. Her shoulders relaxed at this realization and she gave him another soft smile. "I suppose that's true. There must be some way though." As the announcement of the lockdown came over the speakers her eyes moved upwards nonchalantly in the direction of a speaker. Sure it didn't sound like an ideal night but it's not like Lulu had any plans anyway.

Lulu's eyes then drifted to Jackson's arms behind his back. It almost looked as if he was hiding something behind him. Her eyebrow arched but she remained silent about it. She continued their conversation trying to not let her curiosity get the better of her. "I just sold a few couple photos. Not sure why they couldn't just do it themselves with their phone. It's not like I'm a professional or anything. But hey if nothing else comes from today at least I made some money." she said with a shrug. Daniel Reaving Daniel Reaving

Since he had gotten back Sean had been trying to analyze his feelings, specifically about a certain blonde ex he had. They were both older and more mature now. To him it felt like they had brought out the best in each other. Really the more he had thought about it, the more he began to think they should give it another shot. At the very least he should ask her, it couldn't hurt. If she felt the same great; if not then that was fine too. He could move on and stop feeling so conflicted about this. The Woods boy had also been hearing rumors that Ash wasn't exactly acting herself, and he wanted to be able to help her out. He deeply cared about her still, and hearing that she had been going through things hurt him.

Sean had already messaged Ash about needing to talk to her so turning back now wasn't really an option, especially with the lockdown being announced. Though he did wish he had requested they be alone for their talk. He was casually making his way through the halls looking for the blonde trying to think of the best way to word his thoughts and feelings. Before he could come up with anything though he saw the West girl, he'd have to wing. He grinned at her and approached. She was walking with a guy whose name he didn't know, but he was pretty sure was the barista at the cafe. "Hey Ash. Now a good time to talk?" his eyes glanced to the guy for a moment. "It won't take long I promise." he assured half to her and half to the barista guy. He nervously scratched the back of his neck, he wasn't used to feeling this anxious, especially about a girl. Aaron

It felt like Aaron had chosen the wrong dialogue choice in a video game, and he didn’t even know how. His heart crashed as he watched Drake twitch and fidget, mood dampening.

His own face flattened out, and he nodded as if accepting Drake’s words despite the clear wrongness of them.

Drake asked his question, but Aaron knew better than to think the question was directed at him. Stoicism, that was the answer for the moment. Especially as Drake asked his next question, the question that betrayed why he was really here, taking his mood from dampened to darkened.

It was as if all his happiness had been built on the misfortunes of another, and his heart hurt more than more.

For a moment, he hated Drake for that, but then he shoved it down, bottled it up, and tried to block out the way Drake’s words made a piece of him break as he turned to Maisie, waiting for her response.

He wanted to tell her it was fine, that he could be her second choice, that he would understand, but he couldn’t make the words come out. He couldn’t even bring himself to attempt to emote it, too sure of the way he might fall to pieces if he did.

He silently mused to himself if he could really truly care about Maisie if he couldn’t even let her see him weak as Maisie answered Drake’s question and promptly evacuated the room.

Oh well, he figured that was fair enough. He dragged his eyes away from the door, forcing himself to look at Drake.

He should say something, apologize, maybe try to explain himself, but he couldn’t. He couldn’t do much of anything right now.

“So,” he said, voice flat as ever, “Belle didn’t work out?”

Sometimes, Aaron wished he weren’t such a nasty creature.

“Yep, hot chocolate,” he confirmed. When Ash called him a positive person, Sebastian responded with a feigned, sarcastic gasp. “How dare you call me positive. This is just me being neutrally opportunistic and practical. Also, I don’t wanna keep standing in the hallway like a dorky freshman with nothing better to do.”

While buying two Hershey’s bars for the chocolate from the vending machine nearby, Sebastian looked up and saw a tall guy with long hair speaking to Ash. He glanced at his blonde friend, unsure what do besides standing quietly and idly in the background in front of a vending machine like an extra character. Whatever the long-haired guy was going to say to Ash, Sebastian assumed it was sort of personal and didn’t want to seem like he was eavesdropping, so he plugged one earphone that he pulled out from his pocket, turned away from them, and pretended not to hear anything.

He wasn’t going to leave Ash alone with the guy either, only because he actually didn’t know where the Home Economics classrooms were.

Kanen
The halls of the school hadn’t really changed since Kanen had left months ago. Aside from the seasonal decorations and the occasional carpet stain, everything was still the same as when he’d left it. That’s wasn’t necessarily a good thing though. Westbrook High School was ripe with bad memories, granted, Kanen was too intoxicated most of the time to remember much. But, being back here, back home, brought back unpleasant feelings. More importantly, it brought back bad habits. It was like a burn. Kanen didn’t notice the urge to drink at first, but the moment he thought about it he couldn’t stop.

Twitter turned out to be his saving grace though. Kanen hadn’t brought anything into the school, but someone else had. He’d be damned not to take advantage of the opportunity. Just like that, Kanen was like a bloodhound looking for a Fox. Or more appropriately, a tweaked searching for his fix.

The smell of liquid wafting from a couple girls in the hallway was more than enough to let Kanen know he’d found the right place. “You two really about to sit here in the fucking halls?” He said, looking at then like they were a pair of idiots. “Fucking Christ, get up off the ground. Let’s go.” He grumbled, motioning for the girl sitting down to stand up and follow him. Kanen wasn’t about to get plastered in the middle of the hallway. A classroom seemed a bit more appropriate.

Given the unfortunate series of events that had followed Sean asking Ash if they could speak, she had actually completely forgotten that he had even asked. Still, his appearance was a welcome distraction from the snowstorm outside, even if it forced her to wait longer for Sebastian's hot chocolate.

When Sean asked if they could talk, Ash instinctually looked towards Sebastian to ask him for a moment, but he was already putting in his earbuds. What a sweetheart. Sebastian was quickly rising through the ranks as her new best friend. Er... New guy best friend? Since she'd kind of slept with her other one, and Kanen had now dropped substantially. Yes, she was still annoyed by him showing up like nothing happened.

What a dick.

Anyway, Ash looked back towards Sean, unable to keep the shy smile that graced her lips. "So what did you want to talk about?" It would be a lie for her to say that she didn't feel something for her ex, but what that something was was still... almost difficult for her to place her finger on. Maybe a few more shots and she'd have her answer.
