mogy
your mom's friend
After the really hyped-up and kind of disappointing game of flag tag that quickly came to a halt, Noah had waited for the meeting to be over before him and his mom Lydia, headed home. He wanted to find the girl from the bleachers, but when he went back into the gym to get his bag, she wasn’t there anymore, and Noah didn’t want to seem like a creep by going to look for her across the empty hallways of the school.
When the meeting was over, Noah and his mom were in the car. She seemed a bit pissed, but she mostly looked disappointed. Noah didn’t question it, knowing that the agitated state his mom seemed to be in could quickly go bad for Noah, and he really didn’t want to spend the next few days being grounded because he asked what had happened during the meeting.
Throughout the short, 10-minute ride home, Noah’s mind kept going back to the dark-haired girl sitting on the bleachers, and how familiar she appeared to him. It was like he knew her, but he couldn’t place where he had seen her before. That definitely bugged the crap out of him.
Soon after the ride was over, Noah’s mind had other things to worry about, as he still had a shit ton of homework to get through, and had 3 papers due the next day, one of which was about the processes of mitosis and meiosis. When Noah decided to take biology, he definitely didn’t expect to learn about that, whatever it was.

Before Noah knew it, another day of school was over. He was really happy about how all three of his papers turned out, and anybody could have seen that Noah was really happy. That was because of three major signs. The first sign was that Noah had a genuine smile on his face, and Noah never had a genuine smile on his face. Maybe a smirk, but that’s it. He didn’t have a smile on his Instagram, on his family photos, not ever. Not ever, except when he was really happy, like now. The second sign that Noah was really happy was the way that he walked. It was almost like he was skipping, but he did it in his own special way, making it feel like skipping, without it actually being skipping. The third sign was that Noah’s bag way on both of his shoulders and was jumping around on his back while he was walking. Whoever knew Noah, knew that he always wore his bag on his right shoulder.
While it had been the end of his last class for the day, Noah still had track in an hour, and he wanted to catch up on his reading in the meantime, which is why he headed outside, to sit on one of the benches or somewhere, just relaxing in the cold wind and reading his book. His plans, however, were interrupted when he noticed the girl from the bleachers, sitting in the cold without a jacket on, probably doing her homework.
“You mind if I sit here?”
