Gwen laughed as the waves crashed onto the elves. Watching them wash ashore made her laugh harder until she saw that Hubyr wasn’t moving. Letting out a gasp, she ran onto the beach and towards the male elf. Celestine had beat her to him and was attempting to roll him over. Hopefully, they hadn't hurt him too much. Gwen still had to compete against him in the drinking contest.

Looking over to Ayana who had realized her drink was now empty and discarded on the sand, Gwen covered her mouth to muffle a giggle. If Hubyr was truly hurt, she couldn’t let another laugh escape even though the look on Ayana’s face was quite hilarious. Walking closer to the dark-skinned elf, she sat on the sand. She looked out at the water before speaking up. “Are you alright? I’m sorry if the waves were a little rough.” She said, looking towards Ayana.

Luka perked up when free drinks were mentioned. They were exactly what he needed after weeks of boredom, violence and gruntwork, so he cheered an imaginary mug when Rose was done. "Oh you're a bad influence eh?" He leaned back with a smile. "No saints here though, thanks for the pint."

Luka was about to continue when Daisy started up. Her rant went on and on, browbeating the teenager until he checked out. There were a few keywords he made sure to remember, but he was far from attentive. "Right, gravedigger not robber. There was no need for a bollocking but we're sorted now." He momentarily glanced at her scars, but his calm veneer didn't crack. There were some lines even he wouldn't cross.

When the moment passed he narrowly smiled. "I'm here to see the world, no grand wishes besides gold in me pocket... and a couple gems too." He looked from Daisy to the bartender, who was fast-approaching with a purple drink in his hand. When he arrived, he placed the glass down and formally said, "May your stomach be stronger than this drink."

Luka chuckled for a few seconds. "Don't worry bout my stomach mate, I've had stronger." He grabbed the glass with one hand and his pint with the other. "Marvelous sight this is innit?" He nudged Amalia's elbow with his own. "Bet you've never seen drinks like this in the Gates? Heard that town's more depressing than a church with no nuns."

Xiko Yikino
location: town interaction:
After a somewhat uneventful beach trek, Xiko had taking his leave of that sandy place, he wondered how someone with feathered wings would deal with sand it must be a horrible experience having to clean them as opposed to the membrane wings he had. After retuning to more suitable attire the rather cheerful dragon folk had opted to take a look around the town. It seemed like a wonderful place try new things Perhaps even purchase a few souvenirs to take along with him, after all what was really the point of going places if you didn’t bring something home to jog those memories?

The town Brought so many colour and smells around, fanciful clothing and jewellery layed out in between spit roasted meats and other (to Xiko) exotic foods that he’d not seen before or at least not seen displayed in such a fashion. A bright smile adorned his face as his attention darted between various different stalls and stores. This excitement caused a few problems though chiefly was the dragonfolk‘s large wings spreading out and a few people walking into them as Xiko was starting to take up more space then he really should promoting annoyed glances from those around him. “Oh terribly sorry just a little excited do pardon the wings. Didn’t mean to cause a fuss” he‘d reply with one of those awkward apologetic expressions as he‘d unintentionally made drawn some attention to himself grumbling form those few people that had run into him before they’d simply walk off to go about their day. “Well that really could have gone better“ Xiko mumbled to himself with a sigh.

At Jane, Yo nodded, energy zinging behind her eyes, “They had sooooo many things that a person could get done! I just miss a bit of the pampering I got back home. I’d super love it if you’d join me after we’re done soaking.” Only Lorrin and Val knew about her situation from home, so the statement about “pampering” could have been a tiny insight.

Yo could hear footsteps approaching from behind. Peering back, she saw that it was Helena. A smile sprouted to her face as she sat up a tiny bit and made sure there was plenty of room for her to join.

“You didn’t miss anything! I myself just plopped in.”

As for the wounds question, she didn’t quite feel like she had much to answer. Compared to some of the other cast, hers weren’t even flesh wounds.

Kiel answering Helena had her recall the moment when Kiel fell off the dragon. Yo didn’t blame him whatsoever.

With Pozou’s quip about the water, Yo sunk back down, though she went further this time, a little past her nose and bubbled for a second as if in affirmation.

“Helena, Jane was just saying she’d join me for services later if you were interested at all~” Of course, the invitation was for everyone but she’s the one who may not have heard them talking about it, what with coming after the fact.

Ayana sat up when Celestine mentioned wave riding. "Oh that's much better," she said with a smile. "Riding waves is far more fun than being hit by them." She imagined huge waves with wooden paddle boats atop them, but her fantasy ended when Hubyr washed ashore.

"Hubyr!"

Ayana stood and sprinted to the drowned hunter, discarding her cup as she kneeled next to him. "Hubyr!" She shook his shoulder to wake him up, only stopping when Gwen asked, "Are you alright? I’m sorry if the waves were a little rough."

Ayana shook her head, "No no, it was fun for me. I wasn't hurt so I don't understand why... how has he taken water? Hunters are taught to swim." Her mind raced as Celestine rolled him over, and her eyes narrowed when the princess said, "It seems you've been caught."

Ayana wondered what Celestine meant. "He's been caught?" She looked down at the unconscious man, eyes widening when she finally understood. "What! Did he really!" She looked from Gwen to Celestine, noticing their narrow smiles. "He's such a brute!" She shook his shoulder again. "You can't die before buying me another drink, I won't allow it!" Her shaking grew more intense, and eventually she leaned forward and pressed an ear against his chest.

"Linë alme... his heart is awake." She wrapped her left hand around his jaw, pulling it down until his mouth opened. "I'll remove the water from his lungs. I've heard it's quite uncomfortable." Her tone was far from apologetic, mainly because of his thievery. Even so he still needed treatment, so she channeled mana for a simple water spell.

Hubyr

Hubyr.jpgWith the shake to his shoulder by the syphid, Celestine would probably notice Hubyr’s grunt in response.

It seemed as though she was also attempting to roll him over, to which he did once he felt like no water was wanting to sit in his lungs. He may have accidentally gotten some up his nose on the second crash, thanks to the surprise of it all.

Hearing Gwen apologize, he determined that it was she who decided a second wave would be a blast.

He coughed when Ayana started shaking him, growing more intense. With a scowl, he took a deep breath, feeling the salt in his nose.

Ayana kept doing her things even though he was quite not unconscious. How she managed to wrestle his jaw open was behind Hubyr but he grabbed her by the shoulders before something strange happened and sat up, his hair sticking to his face.

I’m not dying. Don’t you go taking that drink from me.lol

Despite the humorous situation he found himself in, he determined that it was now time for some ocean swimming practice. It had been a while. There was a reason why most of his kills were not usually from the waters surrounding their island. He had enough to still make a name for himself. Then again, in true battle mode, he would expect surprises from beasts. Not so much from allies.

Turning to look at Celestine and Gwen, not having released Ayana yet unless she tried, there would be a fire behind his eyes, "Alright. Later, which one of you want to help train me with the water?"

Is it Boring? || Roland's CS File

He chose to ignore her comments about wanting to buy a sister for now. He didn’t have the mental fortitude to unpack that just yet. He wanted to believe that Lorrin and his family weren’t slavers. He needed to believe that. Lorrin was far too kind for that, besides the north didn’t allow slaves hunting right? If they did then why had he and Helena spent so long traveling here? He took to clinging to Lorrin’s side grabbing him by the hem of his shirt.

He was interrupted from his thoughts by the girl’s mention of stealing gold from her father. Just what type of life did they live? He could never imagine stealing from his kin. If he ever even got to see them again. He missed them, he may have fallen into a comfortable life with Helena but that wouldn’t make up for his separation from them

    “So this is…Hello...Miss….Sasha…”.

He felt his hand get tugged by the girl after she and her brother exchanged some quips. He let himself be dragged letting Lorrin go so that he wasn’t pulling the older boy. He kept sneaking glances back as they approached the beach wondering if it was really okay. Regardless he supposed it was their original plan to go to the beach. He let out a sigh as their feet hit the sand.

It was a familiar and not wholly welcome experience. At least beach sand was so different from desert sand. He had to keep looking at the bright side. He tugged at the ends of his hair trying not to move his hat too much lest it showed his ears.

    “You’re pretty fast... “

He scanned the beach wondering if there was a good place to relax for a bit only to see some familiar faces across the way. He let out a little eep at the realization that he’d managed to find two of the people his mother told him to be careful around. Newcomers should always be treated with a grain of salt, and Helena was very insistent upon restricting interactions with the waterborne one. He did a quick glance at Lorrin to the familiar ones and back. He’d follow Lorrin’s lead.

    “Should we…”

Celestine Oceania

It seemed Ayana had similar thoughts to Celestine about her drink being stolen, though the syphid found it hard not to forgive Hubyr herself when her friend seemed to be taking it relatively well. She watched on with an amused look at the elven woman's antics, especially since she hadn't yet caught on that he wasn't drowning. Or maybe it was something she willfully ignored, as her plan to resuscitate him with magic would apparently be fairly painful. The male elf managed to stop her before any discomfort was inflicted though, before sitting up and turning to the two non-elves.

"Training?" Celestine raised a brow. Weren't they supposed to be relaxing? It made sense for him though, she realized, as she remembered what he had first been doing when she stepped on the sand. "In terms of what?" Did he want to get better at swimming? Maybe holding his breath? She was certain she could help with that, and Gwen and Ayana could most likely as well.

Gwendolyns eyes widened as Ayana pulled Hubyrs mouth open, preparing to remove the water from his lungs. Most likely using magic to do so. Small grunts came from Hubyr showing that the man was in fact awake and not slowly dying of excess saltwater consumption. The drenched elf managed to break free from the woman and sat up, asking Celestine and Gwen about training.

Gwen blinked and flicked her eyes between Celestine and Hubyr. “I can train you for snow but I’d rather let the syphid princess give you swimming lessons.” She said, walking to where her overdress and hat sat in the sand.

She glanced at the sun and saw that it was sometime between 6 and 7. “I’m going to grab a drink and try to find Leóne. We can add another person to the drinking contest.” Gwen smiled cheekily as she slipped on her dress. Grabbing her sandals and putting on her hat, she waved goodbye to the group and trekked up the sand.

She came up to the path and surveyed what she could see. Her eyes spotted the lemonade stand that Ayana visited. Although she enjoyed the drink, she was craving something more alcoholic. She began walking towards the direction of the taverns and saw a mixed drink stand as she came around a corner. Walking up to the stand, she looked at the flavors. A drink made with coconuts and rum piqued her interest and she was quick to grab her coin bag.

Walking away from the drink stand with a wooden cup in one hand, she strolled through the street. Her green eyes scanned the small crowds in and outside the taverns, looking for a tall, brunette man. With beautiful muscles and a smile that gives her butterflies. She let her mind wander for a second as she sipped on her drink.

Seconds later, she spotted Leóne down the street and smiled. She quickly made her way towards him, approaching from behind. As she got closer, she waved her hand, creating a small stream of air. The stream went through a bush, picking one of the Jasmine flowers that bloomed there. It then changed its direction towards Leóne, gently placing the flower on his shoulder.

Gwen waited for him to turn around, a soft smile on her face.

He dearly regretted not leaving with Hubyr and his daughter. When he heard that they were to have off time he almost didn’t believe it. So he stayed at the base far longer than most. He hardly recognized most, the group had nearly tripled in size since he was away. He would have merely stayed and tried to make up for the time he’d messed up and got separated from the rest of his mission partners but his stomach started to growl something fierce. Well… it couldn’t hurt to try some of the local cuisine? Besides there’s no way they would head off while half the group had split off to enjoy the town.

Part of him wished to simply carry everything with him as he had been doing up until now, but he should take advantage of having a home base again. It couldn’t be too dangerous anyways considering plenty left in clothes closer to bathing cloths than armor. He took off the protective layers still leaving him with his typical attire. He stared down at the ax he’d been carrying… no he didn’t need that here. Skadi would be alert still, so there was no need to worry.

    “Lead the way Skadi”

His dearly departed sister had not been radiating the same anger and malice he’d felt before as they were locked away in the church. Her features were blank today as he could only see the outline of her mana, her hair wild and untamed. Keeping up with her was hard as she paid no mind to his struggle to keep up to her flight.

    “Skadi slow down-”

His words trailed off as he caught sight of something in the corner of his eye. Familiar looking black horns but an unfamiliar face and wings. He paused in his single minded pursuit of Skadi and turned to face the man more. Just in time to see him give apologies to the people he’d bumped into.

    “Huh… another horned Centosian….”

His feet brought him closer as his stare didn’t quite let up.

“Is it difficult for you Centosians to move around when you have all these extra parts?”

"Aww, she so cute and formal are you all ways this polite. Just Sasha will do please I don't think I'm that much older than you." Lorrin let out a short chuckle oh if only she knew. "Don't worry Ro shes more or less harmless as long as your not on her bad side or caught in one of her accidental explosions. I heard that!" They would arrive at the beach moments later the weather outside being rather nice for the area and the sand being rather soft on the feet. Roland would point out some familiar faces of their group off in the distance. "Hmm, do you know them?" "More or less but after the events from last week id rather not be around Gwen right now." After everything that happened back in that hole, Lorrin doesn't really believe Gwen would wish to speak to him much less be in the same area as him. "Let's find our own area for right now." Lorrin would then move a bit of way away from the others and would set up a nice spot near the shore. "You two go ahead have fun I'm going to relax here for a bit." "Okay Ro! last one the water is a rotten boar!" Sasha would then run towards the water as Lorrin lays down in the shade of the area.

Xiko had quickly put the little scene he'd caused behind him apologising to the last few people he'd bumped into folding his wins back up behind himself as much as possible. He'd not notice another person staring at him just as Xiko was about to turn around the man had approched and asking about the difficulties of moving around with extra parts. Xiko spun back around giving the man a friendly grin more then happy to answer his question, after all it was clearly simple curiosity you couldn't fault someone for that. "Centosian? Hmm unless I'm mistaken i don't belive I'm form there more eastern" Xiko commented before focusing on the question asked "as for your question I'd be happy to answer it's usually not a big problem if one remembers to keep there wings tucked back properly though croweds and excitement tends to make it a bit problematic " xiko remarked cheerfully though staring back at the fellow just a bit before extending his one scaly clawed hand towards the fellow. "Apologies where are my manners im Xiko, if you have any other questions feel free to ask. Oh and if you don't mind who might you be sir?"

Valentine
Mentions: - | Interactions: Taigakitt Taigakitt (Stone), Colorless Spectrum Colorless Spectrum (Aedzel)

valeeeee.jpg
Valentine found themselves humming in agreement with Stone. The thought of even getting sand in…less than desirable areas didn’t sound pleasant. Drinking never appealed to them either and they never intended to start, even in a relaxing resort. It drove you to do things you weren’t prone to doing, and so they opted to keep away from that risk.

At the compliment, they smiled, and brushed their hands over their outfit. “Thank you both. I’m glad you both like it.” Valentine beamed. It made a nice change from the scrupulous stares people often directed at them. They knew what they were wondering, whether they were man, woman, something else entirely…

Those thoughts didn’t linger after Stone suggested they get going to find a food stand and to explore the rest of the resort. Valentine remained arm-in-arm with Aedzel as they were guided further into the town. The town had been packed with tourists and residents alike, all dressed in finery and colours Valentine thought could have mimicked Birds of Paradise. They raised their nose at the aromas of pastries, cooked meat, sweet treats, all freshly baked and prepared just for curious tourists like them. They laughed at Aedzel’s pout and gave her a nudge.

“No worries. I can share some of my goodies with you two,” Valentine smiled, tapping their lips with their finger as they searched. Their search paused when they spotted some bread on a stall not so far from them. Something about the bread’s shape had intrigued them, and so Valentine encouraged Aedzel and Stone to follow them with a nod.

Arriving at the stall, Valentine paused as they regarded the bread. It was no ordinary loaf, but rather, was shaped like a turtle. Four stumpy legs, lines and swirls carved into the bread to create a shell, and a lid similarly crafted to make the ‘shell’s’ lid. Valentine laughed at the extra oval shaped face on the front, its eyes, nostrils, and a smile carved into it. The breaded turtle inside was hollowed out as if it made…

“The freshest, most delicious, and cutest bread bowls in all of Centos!” A man exclaimed as he stirred a pot of potato soup. “You’re lucky you got here early, kid. People go crazy for these turtle bowls. My wife can’t keep up with demand.” He laughed, a woman kneading bread behind him playfully hitting him on the arm.

“Nonsense,”
she replied, smiling at Valentine, Aedzel, and Stone. “I’d say my husband can’t keep up with the amount of potatoes I see him cutting every day.” She smirked at the man, who turned sheepish and rubbed the back of his head. She looked back to the three. “Baked fresh this morning. We have some people who just take the bread bowl, but we can throw in some soup for a little extra if you like.”

Valentine could feel drool slipping out from his mouth at the thought of it. The spices from the soup, not to mention coupled with some fresh bread…they were sorely tempted. Valentine reached into their pocket, pulling out a pouch with some money. “I’ll take a bread bowl and some of that soup for sure.”

She had watched closely as the group answered, nodding to Jane as she said hello. Pozou’s answer came as calmly as she expected. Good it wouldn’t do if one of the only other healers was too anxious. Yet the hesitant answer she received from Kiel told a story greater than his words. She would have to keep watch over the kid. She’d seen too many young adults wave off everything as fine. Everything was fine, until it wasn’t.

“Me? The most I experienced was a little bruising. Aside from that monstrosity of sentient winds I never got hit.”

Even if she was downplaying its effects she wasn’t exactly lying. She was rather good at survival when it came down to it. But… possession… she wondered if that’s what happened to Knightley. She wondered if he was able to stomach it when it lifted. She didn’t have time to check, and she didn’t know if it was safe to do so. Knightley had worked for the church after all.

It was best they scrammed as soon as they did. It would have all been over if they had fled for a mere week's worth and were caught by Master Tallis. She raised her hand through the water and flicked, watching as the ripples took it over. No it wouldn’t have been ideal at all. She’d almost lost her Roland once, and she wouldn’t allow a repeat episode. If it wasn’t for Aedzal...

Yo’s cheery voice broke her out of her thoughts.

“Services huh? Why not, it would be just the relaxation needed. Though don’t think you’re getting off easily… I doubt you’re as unscathed as you’ve been acting.”

She sunk a little further, allowing the water to rise to her chin. She needed this, if only for a moment. One second to breathe, one second to not look for monsters in the faces of strangers. Yo and her endless cheer. Pozou and his camaraderie. Kuma and their silent understanding. Away from the thoughts of an endless life on the run.

Stone

GStone.jpgThe fact that the other two seemed to be on the same page as the Momerki meant that any of them splitting off to the beach wouldn’t occur. All the same, Stone was still going to find things to eat even if they had.

As Aedzel skipped a little ahead of him with Valentine in-arm, he picked up the pace to fall in line beside them, keeping his attention on his surroundings and nose picked up to the air.

The crowd didn’t bother Stone. He was quite capable in crowds and even avoided getting bumped into. Could never be too careful and get sneakily pickpocketed. Being pickpocketed wouldn’t bode well, considering he always kept his coin and important belongings on him.

I’m willing to share whatever we see that we’d like to try. If we just get one type from many places, I think a few bites would suffice to taste and we’d be stuffed before we know it. Don’t worry about the cost, either. Though, the more mouths to assist in allowing us to try more foods would be helpful.” And if there was anything that deserved to be eaten again, well... Then they could just get more.

As if on queue, a large and recognizable figure was in view, conversing with a Dragonfolk with wings while Valentine was asking for the turtle soup bowl.

Frankly, Stone felt the stand missed their opportunity to include turtle meat.

Moving quicker than Valentine could stop the Momerki, Stone threw the cost of the soup to the stall attendants, “If sharing is something everyone wishes to not do, please say so. I am going to see if Mister Sigurd is interested in joining our little food tour.” Maybe it was ironic, considering Stone could probably already be known as the one that gets aggressive about sharing food, but in this case, Stone offered and it wasn't like some forest-dweller was trying to take it off of him.

He flashed a sharp smile at Valentine and touched their hand to put their own money away while he turned tail and approached the other two. “Excuse me, Mister Sigurd. If you would be interested, Valentine, Aedzel and I are going to hunt for foods to taste until we’re over-satiated. if you’d like to join us?

Green eyes flashed to the Dragonfolk and realized that maybe inviting them wouldn’t hurt, “You may join if you are so inclined. I wouldn’t want to take your conversation away from you two with my offer.

With that, Stone bowed and returned back to Valentine and Aedzel, no matter what their answer would be. Whether they joined or didn’t join, Stone noticed a nearby fountain with a decent edge they could sit upon, “How about we make our way over there and enjoy this dish?

Kiel Shan

"Ah, I see," Kiel said with a nod to Jane's response. He was glad to know that they weren't in any sort of spat. He raised a curious brow when Yo mentioned pampering. "Where do you come from?" he asked. Sure, there had also been relaxing treatments for those who lived among the sands, but those usually involved jumping into a cool oasis and enjoying fresh fruit and meat. He had thought Centosians lived quite a luxurious life, seeing as many could do those things far more often than anyone back home could, so he wondered if Yo was from somewhere even more affluent. Then again, he wasn't sure just how relaxing most of the treatments listed were. Many, in his eyes, seemed eerily akin to methods of torture.

After Jane had agreed to undergo them with Yo though, the woman recruited Helena as well. His brow furrowed slightly as he went over the various treatments in his head. "Er... perhaps I'll try one as well," he concluded, pushing his apprehensions away. From what he could recall about them though, they got pretty up close an personal with someone's body. That, along with seeing the areas of the spa which were sectioned off by gender, made him wonder if they would indeed be receiving the services together.

"... I don't suppose you would want to go too?" he asked, turning to the only other male in the bath. Whether they indeed turned out to be relaxing or not, going through them with someone would be much less scary than going through them alone.

Leone walked down a busy street, looking from window to window for fine clothing. He wanted the best threads for a night in Blueport, but all the stores around him were restaurants, bakeries or produce markets. "Must've made a wrong turn," he muttered while passing a café. The smell of warm bread, coffee beans and fresh fruit wafted from its front door, sending a pang of hunger through his empty stomach.

With a quiet "hmm," he walked inside and ordered mixed fruit with coffee. Then he sat down and looked around the posh café. Its low lighting relaxed him as he thought about the group's next stop. Back to the desert eh? Nothing better than dealing with slaving Almasians. We'll probably get ambushed by— he abruptly stopped when a waitress walked over.

"Your order Sir." She passed him a ceramic plate and a matching cup.

"Appreciated." He handed her a silver coin.

"My pleasure! If you need anything else let me know." She narrowly smiled and pocketed the silver.

"I'll keep that in mind." He started eating as she walked away. The mixed fruit was a perfect dish for warm weather, but the portion size was microscopic. What's the deal with rich people and kid sized portions? He shook his head and sipped his undersized coffee. Worst five silvers of my life. He chuckled once and finished his food, leaving the café soon after.

That's when a magic wind current caught his attention. An attack? He narrowed his eyes and quickly turned around, but when he saw Gwen his face brightened. Even I'm getting paranoid. He tucked her flower into a chest strap, grinning as he said, "Gwen!" He went to her and wrapped his arms around her midsection. "You look gorgeous." He deeply kissed her; there was sea-salt on her lips but it wasn't unpleasant.

"I wish I went to the beach, but I can't be at a casino wearing this…" He looked down at his leather armor. It wasn't a bad look, but resort dress codes disagreed.

"You know… you look like a true southerner. Your family would have a hard time recognizing you in this." Leone tapped her hat and looked down at her bikini. It was definitely an eye catcher, stealing his gaze for a couple seconds. "It suits you more than a twenty pound coat with bear fur." The image of Gwen in thick tundra clothes made him smirk, not that northerners all wore them. Even-so, the cliche of northerners in dense layers thoroughly amused the southern man.

Ayana rapidly blinked when Hubyr grabbed her shoulders; he was close enough to headbutt — not that she wanted to headbutt him yet. "I was going to pull water from your lungs, not acid from your stomach!" She shook her head with mild frustration. "I can't believe you sometimes... just get me a drink tonight or I'll paint your nails when you sleep."

Ayana sighed and looked from Celestine to Gwen; the former was open to training, but the latter was heading out instead. "Leone should join us, I've never seen him drunk! We can make teams when we meet." She waved as Gwen walked away, eagerly anticipating the drinking game.

When her wave was done, Ayana looked at Celestine with a raised eyebrow. "Maybe we can chase Hubyr with water summons?" She smirked at her fellow hunter; splashing him with water dragons had a nice ring to it. "Or we can leave training for tomorrow."

Ayana shrugged off one of his hands, leaving the other on her shoulder. Then she dropped from her knees and sat beside him. "It's always training, training and more training with you. You should enjoy the day for once." She wanted him to loosen up; he was good company but he worked out constantly. It was hard to know him when he was obsessed with getting stronger.

Celestine was equally hard to know; jaded people usually were. Ayana had warmed to the princess over the past week, but she still knew almost nothing about her. "What's it like to be a Syphid warrior? Do you train constantly like us? On the island it's all we do unless we're out patrolling the forest."

More eastern? He could only stare as the man explained he was not Centosian. Could the woman from the group also be from this far east then? It seemed the group had truly become varied in his absence. He suspected as much when he saw so many outside of the typical humans. He’d heard of other races from Henrietta but he’d only seen the feathered folk before. Though this man had wings he did not think them to be the same.

    “Xeko? Xico? Xiko

He was clearly struggling with the name on the tip of his tongue but he wasn’t one for being rude. Names were important and it would be crass to not try to get it right. He seemed to get a better feel for it at his third go but it still was clearly requiring effort for the sounds.

“Apologies. That is a name I’ve never spoken. I am Sigurd Stellan Rask. Schoolmaster. Bodyguard.”

He would have gladly taken to asking more questions to the man if he had not had a member of his own comrades come upon them. The furred one offered for him to join and for a moment his curiosity split in two. To follow the amiable Xiko or to take the opportunity to learn more of his own. It seemed that he would require no division however as the Catman invited his new companion as well

. His eyes flickered between the two before giving a confident and clear nod, making sure to bring his head all the way up and then all the way down in a motion that would clearly be seen from afar. He wasn’t usually one for words but with Skadi’s utter calm since leaving Stone’s Throw he had decided now was the time to converse. Lest she begin to demand his piety again.

“If you would be amiable? It seems my traveling companions have also found themselves something to discover in the city.”

The man struggling to pronounce his name correctly was a little amusing to Xiko he’d not though much of it but yes his name was a little more on the exotic side wasn’t it? “Yes Xiko and no need to apologise it’s understandable, it is nice to meet you then mister Sigurd“ Xiko replied in a friendly tone nodding as he finished speaking. He‘d not have any time for a further response when a catfolk approached them whom was apparently an associate of Sigurd, apparently the catfolk and some others had the same idea as Xiko and where inviting Sigurd to join them the invitation being extended to himself also. Xiko give a large smile wings inadvertently stretching out again but luckily not striking anyone this time before he quickly retracted them. “Oh a wonderful idea I’ll certainly be happy to take up your generous offer, such things are always better with more people I find“ Xiko responded happy to tag along with this group of whoever they where it was sure to be an interesting time and a decision he’d not regret in the slightest. The catfolk then walked off leaving Xiko and Sigurd there. ”we won’t have to cut our chat short then hey?“ he’d say cheerful letting the other man take the lead as clearly they knew who they where supposed to be looking for Xiko happily following close behind.

Daisy could feel her face turning red as the others reacted to her outburst. She took another deep sip of her drink, and in her haste a little dribbled down the cut in her lip. Caught up in her own embarrassments, it took her a moment for her to realize that Amalia was uncomfortable with her question. Amalia wanted to feel more comfortable in their body? Daisy almost asked what she meant by that, curious, when Luka chimed in about money and gems, and then promptly turned his attention to more drink.

Daisy sighed through her nose. She supposed she couldn't blame him for that. It wasn't an uncommon goal. Money and adventure, an end to boredom. But his answer didn't quite satisfy Daisy, not least because she'd had ulterior motives for asking.

"So. You two... believe the well exists?" She asked in a low voice. Daisy did not believe the well was real. It was a fairy story, in the library back at her families manor amongst other such tales that one told to children, or to entertain. She thought that others, perhaps, were along for reasons that mirrored, even if they did not match, her own. She'd never directly asked anyone about this. She had assumed some of the people here believed in the well, as it was the stated goal of this party to find it. She just wasn't sure how many people actually thought they'd find it. Amalia certainly seemed like she believed in it, if Daisy was understanding her vague wording correctly. Luka's answer was a little more unclear. "Many people don't."

She leaned back in her chair, and glanced at Rose, including her in the question as well.

pirate.jpg Rose's eyes widened as Daisy went off on a tangent. Taking a sip from her mug, she attempted to hide her smirk as she glanced between the gravedigger and Luca. ‘Note to self: don’t talk about graves.

As the drinks were sat on the table, Rose watched as Daisy took off her mask. Under the cloth was a scarred face. Rose studied the stitching and didn’t care if she was caught staring. It was rare to see such jarring injuries.

Rose nodded to Daisy’s tale of the voyage. As she asked her and the group a few questions. Rose hummed, thinking for a moment. She looked to Amalia as she spoke up. “I think you look rather nice as you are but I’d love to see what you’ll look like after the wish.” Rose said before taking a sip of her drink. Setting it down, she looked to Luca as she spoke of his reason.

Really? No wish? Don’t you want to be taller or something?” Rose asked, rolling her eyes. Leaning back in her chair, Daisy caught her eye.

“The Willowix was a pleasant ship. One of the largest that I’ve sailed. I’m usually the captain of sloops and ketches." She answered her first question. "My sister and I need to find our parents. The Well is our last resort and so we joined a crew crazy enough to find it. There’s no proof that it doesn’t exist, so I might as well take the chance.” Rose continued, leaning back into her chair. “Why did you come if you question its existence?

Amalia Winters

Despite Daisy having gone off on him, Luka didn't seem to have taken any offense. Then again, having been an apprentice mage he must have received his fair share of lectures, Amalia assumed, at least depending on how the master at Stone's Throw was. Regardless, she was glad to see the situation moved past.

Luka's wish would be one that was considered selfish, not that she was one to speak. She harbored no judgment against the young man either. At that age she wanted nothing more than to travel and find adventure and excitement. As long as there are wishes to go around, she hoped he would get his wish, as well as maybe find something more he wanted out to life.

When the drink was presented to Luka, Amalia eyed the purple brew from besides him and raised a brow at the bartender's warning. She could attest to just how strong it was. She had had it in the past when she traveled here on patrol, and there was a reason she did not order one again. Even after Luka's confident response, she opened her mouth to add her own warning, but found herself being nudged by the young man before any words could come out.

"... the nuns are the reason a Church is so depressing," she responded, "as they are the disciplinarians and all." She offered a small smile along with her poor joke before going on to answer his question. "It certainly is a depressing place though. Only drinks we have are ale and beer. Alcohol is viewed as a means to an end there, not something to necessarily enjoy imbibing in." Just like life and their duty. After a moment of hesitation, she added on, "I will say though, the bartender is right. The Curse is quite... potent."

Instead of Daisy answering her own question, she asked another: did they believe the well really existed. It was enough for Amalia to deduce her reason for joining the expedition though: curiosity. Thinking about the second question the woman posed, the knight let out a sigh. "... I admit, the idea is farfetched... but... there's always a chance. Every legend is based in some part on truth. And... there's no alternative for me..."

The knight had gone to take a drink when she heard Rose's comment, leading to her almost spitting out the beverage. After a little coughing and catching her breath, Amalia responded with a, "o-oh... thank you..." before pulling her hood down lower over her surely-red face. The words Rose fired at Luka were in stark contrast to how she spoke to Amalia, leading her to blink in surprise while also stifling a snicker. If the boy was unhappy with his height though, that would be something the two had in common.

"I see..." she said in response to hearing the sisters' reasons for joining the quest. "I'm sure they're missing you every day... I truly hope you will find them soon." Even being unable to return to her family, Amalia could understand the sadness that came with being away from them, and wanting to reunite.

Aedzel Phriln

Aedzel let out a small gasp, the bread bowl was too cute to be real and she couldn't get enough looking at it. "You don't have to share with me, Val but thank you." The soup smelled nothing but the delicious that could make anyone's stomach rumble with want. She could tell how there was a hint of the scent of nutmeg and star anise, it reminded her of her old home. The food her mother used to cook.

"If you'll excuse me," Aedzel said as she pinched a small piece of bread and popped it to her mouth. The bread had just the right amount of sweetness and chewiness. "This is quite amazing."

"Oh please." The older woman said in slight embarrassment but still happy nonetheless for the flattery.

A sweet giggle escaped the Quetzola's lips, while she's almost always forlorn when it comes to remembering her family, this was not the case today. With such a joyful nostalgia blooming in her chest, Aedzel proceeded to speak in a sing-song way of how wonderful the woman's creation was.

She hadn't even noticed Stone leaving their side, but at the distance she saw Sigurd with a not so familiar face. "Sure!" She answered Stone cheerily before bidding farewell to the couple.

Once Sigurd and his companion has arrived, Aedzel was quick to give the one who looked like Vaal a quick once over, somewhat unimpressed, before instantly going back to her cheery attitude. "Sir Sigurd and someone I don't know. Hello! My name is Aedzel." I wonder... Will he be joining this group in the future too? These people have a tendency to let people join them.

"How's the day been for both of you?"

Pozou complete.png

Pozou supposed the spa wasn’t for everyone. Even though it was nice that the two sisters could split up for a little bit to go and do their own thing, he still found it unnerving, considering the situation they had all found themselves in. He rubbed at his neck, sighing at the creak that had developed. Perhaps he was being paranoid. If he had thought looking for this Well of Wishes would involve all this running, perhaps he would have stayed with those pirates in the end or returned to Stowfort.

But then what would he have done?

At least everyone was more relaxed than they had been, or at least, were very good at masking their anxieties. Kiel’s anxiety was certainly more visible than the rest, but Pozou couldn’t blame him. Not with the unease the Quetzola had felt when he stepped off that ship. She watched Helena, his fellow healer and comrade, sink a little lower into the water.

When Kiel had turned to him and suggested about getting a massage like the others, he hummed. “Perhaps. My wings have been a little sore as of late…” Though, he felt himself backtrack, adding, “Probably because of how long I had been sleeping on that ship. They could do with some loosening up.” He lifted one wing, feathers tucked tight against his arm, as if to prove a point. It was true he had been neglecting them as of late. He didn’t fly so much as he used to, what with walking or riding around. But he sighed and sunk a little further into the water himself.

“It’d be hard getting me out of this water though…”
