Well, I've got the extended preview of issue 1

Cthulhu_Wakes

Black Sun in a White World
Not the free issue mind, not Exalted 0 but the preview of the first few pages of Exalted Comic 1. Good. God. I love Solars and DBs all over again. The art is incredible, and it even twanged some strings in my heart for a very young 15 year old Solar caught up in the Usurpation. The Solar Desus is the main character of the first flashback. And damn, he's everything I thought him to be. One hell of a combo he pulls off and wipes the floor with four elder Terrestrials. Funny that he's an Eclipse, then I remember he's Swan's shard. Simply put, I'm getting every issue of Exalted's comic line.

My local comic shop (I don't do comics in my store) has been slow in coming to me with the release date for #1, but I fully intend to get the entire series.

0 Looked good, damn good.

has anyone seen a place onlinde to download the Exalted #0 cimic? some torrent site or anything really.  I've been doing my fair share of fiending for that little item.  havent found it in any of the local comic shops.

-cheers

I haven't gotten mine yet, still getting dicked around by comic shop. I'll post it on Lore 5 as soon I as can Still.

Picked up my copy of issue 1 today, and overall, it wasn't bad.

Two stories included, one involving a newly exalted Eclipse and set in Chiaroscuro, featuring Demetheus (a Dawn Caste).  The second is an illustrated version of how the Empress came into power and her subsequent disappearance.

They were illustrated well using a nice range of colours, with the writting being to the point, and a fair bit of action.

I was disappointed though with the RPG material, and I'll tell you why.  It gives the stats of the Eclipse in the first story, an actor called Kidale, along with a brief history.  It seems that whoever made the character didn't really put any effort into it.  The Charm selection is haphazard, a couple even named differently: First Melee Excellency and Second Presence Excellency coming to mind.  The Base Initiative is written as Join Battle and the Dodge value has been calculated incorrectly.

I know it's easy to look for all the negatives, but when read by a player of the game, it is a tad off-putting.

I hope I havn't put anyone off with my rant because it is stated in the editorial that the comic was aimed as an introduction to anyone whom may not know about the Exalted line, and I will be collecting them as they're released.

I should be getting the powerfoil version soon, and I'm hopeful it may have at least one charm included.

Uh... Forn Clakes?

The stats of "Join Battle" and those two Charms are... ahem... from the second edition.   :)

Hey, it happens! I do it at least once a day ^_^ , though I am curious to see the write up for the sheet when I get mine, my first tid bit of Second Edition Exalted...mmm 2nd Ed... O.o anywho, I think it will turn out ot be a good series overall. What say all of you?

Better yet, what are some of the turns and twists in the plot do you think we might all see?

I need to double-check with Still, but if it's ok with him (and I give proper credit for it) I will post Kidale in the character section.

As for the section on the Empresses Ascension, it's nothing we didn't already know. It was mostly to give people who aren't familiar with the game a chance to get some background story.

Hey Cthulhu_Wakes, that wasn't Desus (cause that's Swan) that guy was Kidale's (also an Eclipse) First Age incarnation. And it doesn't actually show him defeating those DB's.

Also, for those of you who think you may not be able to get the comic, try WW's website you may be able to order it from there.

Are you SURE that it wasn't Desus? Perhaps I'm mistaken, because he was a combat god as well as an Eclipse. But still, he's a bad ass. And yes he did kill the Terrestrials, look at the relfection in his eye, he dices them all.

I need to double-check with Still' date=' but if it's ok with him (and I give proper credit for it) I will post Kidale in the character section.[/quote']
I have no problem with that personally, but WW might. It could be a copyright violation to post a canonical character w/ full stats. I'll check into it.

I'm not completely clear on the legality of this after reading the rules. It might be best not to do it.

Holy smokes! I don't know where else I can order this comic from... I checked WW's main site and the comic, issue #1 is $3.49 US, pretty reasonable price to Canadian. I figure, why not a couple at that price? One to read and one to store in a sleeve that it will never leave. Well, I go through all of the hassle of setting everything up to order... And WW wants TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS for shipping!!!!! Holy shit! I've never been asked to pay that much before. Is International Shipping supposed to be that expensive?

What bites is that no PO Box addresses accepted! Otherwise I'd have it sent to a post office box in Sumas Washington (I live about 30 miles from there on the canadian side of the border in Vancouver.)

I'd really like to support the comic, but for 30 US, (40 canadian) that's pretty damn steep.

You can always find a residence south of the border to send it to--don't you know someone well enough on the other side of the border?

 Alternatively, you could try eBay.

eBay is the debbil... once you enter it and start to REALLY use it, it can be... addictive...

So speakth an employee and addict.

I looked at Ebay and wasn't too impressed, there's a canadian site and they want about $11-12 US for the comic. Not toooo pricy, but I think that a guy  I know who runs a gaming shop could get it for me cheaper.

Still--As far as I understand it, you are pretty much SOL if it doesn't appear here--which pretty much means just about everything that they put out is on the verbotten list. Linking to them, so that you can download it from them is the preferred method for deseminating material.  It isn't a license to repost any of it.

Any characters derived from their material is considered their property, and thus, your fan fic would be considered a copyright violation if you wanted to publish it out from under the umbrella of WW, for pay.  Non-profit is fine for them, but if you take cash for your work, then you're in for it. Their own characters are fully under their copyright, and they have expressly reserved the right to desiminate those materials, and have not granted any of the Dark Spiral network to do so.
