Welcome to the Internet - The Internet is a strange place indeed.




Story


Hello.


My name is Internet. Or perhaps you could call me The Internet. Sometimes I'm called mother by my children.


Who are my children? That's a silly question. My children is everything that is created on me. Or in me..you know what lets not get into that.


Anyway, websites, memes, you name it. They are my children. To you humans, we seem nothing more than random things on a computer screen. To us, we are alive. We walk within the realm of Me. I mean, the...

This sounds interesting. If I may ask, what do you have planned for a plot? Is it going to be more of a Slice of Life type? I'll have a character skelly up shortly. In the meantime, may I reserve Tumblr?

Another day in the realm of the Internet.


What do we do? Whatever we want. That's what we do.


Day and Night do not exist in me, Internet. We can sleep but its not necessary. The only time my children sleep is when they are 'shut down' for maintenance. I never sleep. It's too much fun to waste time sleeping.

Lady Internet was watching over her children. At this time she was not in her human form. She was just watching. Usually, Internet rarely makes an appearance.


"I should surprise my children. They haven't seen me in a while yet I am always there." She mused.


Small pieces of the realm formed together and created a human form of the Internet, which she transferred part of her conscious into. This way she can walk around and do whatever she wanted, while also still watching over her realm...or..self. Take your pick.


The Internet created a mirror and looked at herself.


"Mmhmm. Not bad. Not bad at all." She said as she examined herself. "Ooh I am so hot."


She threw away the mirror, which immediately disappeared, and went to go find some of her children.


The realm of herself isn't very big because she liked to keep her children together. It was more fun that way.


The place where everyone 'lived' was a place she originally wanted to call Meville but decided to call it Realm. There were houses for each program that lived inside Internet. If a new program was created, a new house was put there.


The hang out place was in the middle of the town where a statue of Internet was crafted.


Internet sat down next to it and mimicked the pose of the statue.


"I look better than you." She said, sticking her tongue out the statue. She giggled and just waited for her children to come to her.


They all ended up here eventually.

Relix Nation

Relix was walking around deep in thought. He didn't quite understand any of his outcomes for his experiments, but they were to intriguing to leave alone. Relix jumped a little. His data base was having an update. "Update number 3NH49.. .Status... .80% .... 90%..100%" He jumped back up a little. Updates were terrible. Relix shook his head and walked to his 'house'. His updates always made him 'sleepy' and he just wanted to lie down. He sighed and walked to the door with a smile. His front door said 'RpNation' which clearly fit him quite well. He chuckled and stepped in looking around. He had a forum in which he watched his 'administrator' pop in every once in a while. He liked to watch all the other Role Players chat. Then he had a Member Role Play section. He loved to look at everyone's ideas. Some seemed perfect, others not so much. He stared at the listings and just had a grin. "Maybe these humans aren't so dumb after all." he said with a chuckle.




Winnie Blu

Winnie started running around like a hyper giga bite. She was excited because she was going to get an upgrade. She was Windows Vista, but today, she would be Windows 7! She ran over to Internet jumping up and down. "I'm getting an upgrade!" Winnie said flinging her arms everywhere. She looked around and smiled at all the other programs that were staring at her. She couldn't help it! She was just going crazy.

Internet smiled at Winnie.


"That's great sweetie. I'm sure the upgrade will be fabulous." She said patted her head. "Now now, straighten up. You have to look nice for the upgrade."


Internet smoothed Winnie's clothes and fixed her hair.


"Oh you're so cute aren't you. Come give mama a hug." Internet giggled and held her arms open.

Winnie grinned and walked calmly over to Internet and then she jumped right in. "You know, when do you get an upgrade?" Winnie said looking up at Internet. She didn't understand why Internet got an upgrade, all the other programs did. Besides, its a lot of space if she's holding so much mega bites and killa bites.

Relix Nation

Relix started to relax until he jumped up and got an idea. Maybe, he could contact the humans! Internet did it sometimes, so why can't he? He gave a grin and walked over to his tablet, "Ok, just need to plug in this.. little of this.. dash of that.." Finally it was done, being smart actually paid off. Relix plugged in the last system until a virus entered. "Troy! GET OUT!" Troy was a 'Trojan Horse' virus. Honestly, he was a pain in the butt. "Aww, but your the only other program that doesn't have a bug to 'fix'." Troy smiled. "Get out Trojan." Relix said waving his hand in a 'shoo fly' gesture. Troy continued to laugh and he sat down, almost making himself comfortable.
 
Expo saw everyone running around towards the main part of the digital world. At a steady pace, that felt more like a zombie walk then human. With a sigh, she saw Mother Internet. Being swamped by the programs and websites Expo decided not to talk to Mother now. She really didn't have any news, no new add-on, upgrades, bonuses. Expo was always the same. She gave a smile and wave to Mother and continued to walk on.


(( I want to know the area a bit more. I am imaging it as a blank canvas, like everything is pure white, and there is no clouds no sky. Just white. And houses form and a stature with little paths between each place. Does this fit your image? I am asking now because I use a lot of scenery in my posts.))
 
"I don't need an upgrade. I'm perfect the way I am." Internet replied. "You on the other hand are always growing. You aren't perfect but you are definitely not bad. You don't need improvement, you just need more options. Personally I like you just the way you are."


Internet nodded and smiled at Expo as she walked by.


She cuddled Winnie for a moment when an alert went off in her head.


Internet smiled.


Relix. You should not tread near humans.


An image of her appeared next to Relix and Troy.


"Hello you two, having fun are we?" Internet said, smiling brightly.

Leia smiled as a picture appeared in front of her eyes. She giggled and covered her mouth with her petite hands. "The kitty got his face stuck in the vacuum tube." Her laugh tinkled and she started flipping through her domain, looking for pictures of those handsome actors that appear in the movies. She smiled as one of those demon hunting brothers appeared. "Teehee, oh my." She watched a virus breeze by and ignore her. No virus wanted to mess with her. Or at least, not one that only wanted to mess with a couple pictures. Nothing serious. She smiled as she whizzed through pictures and came across one she recognized. "Ohhh... This is one of those Tumblr things." She stood up and brushed off her skirt. "Maybe I should go visit someone... not enough people know about me." She smiled and primped her hair, stepping out to try and follow that virus.
 
Xander groaned, trudging aimlessly through the Realm as pictures rained down on him. His head was hung and his shoulders drooped, giving him quite a figure of dejection. He was so worn out from staying up so late, he had this irritating paranoid feeling that he was sure to come down with a virus. And he wasn't in a good mood.


He spotted Internet out in the distance, talking to one of the programs or something. She was pretty cool, but he felt weird hanging around his mom. No one does that these days. It looked like something of interest was taking place though, so instead of heading off, he made himself presentable and put on his showy air, then strutted over to the gathering place, appearing quite important.


Internet. You have one poke.

Lin sighed as he watched the little windows fragment jump around happily about an upgrade. It didn't matter to him, she would find a virus or two inside soon enough corrupting her files. Lin smirked softly as his eyes seemed to widen a digital code coating over the pupils soon filling his entire eye, after a few moments his body stood still wind his mind sat in a what seemed to be distant realm. Here Lin smirked seeing a small little file trying to preen it's way into his system hoping to infect him with a virus, with that the boy picked it up and crushed it in his palm. "Hmph....Worthless little virus." He knew his system could in-fact get one virus but that was on rare occasions the ones who used him as the operating system they found at large, was the ones who knew more of the system and guarded their computer much better then the others who enjoyed windows.


As Linux removed himself from an area he liked to call 'root' setting he placed his hands in his pocket and slowly made his way to the group that was forming, the other files and systems a like all gathering at the place of the mother that ran them all. With a small smile he nodded. "Hello, mother."
 
"Lin, Xander! My little boys. How are you two doing?" Internet said, smiling and wrapping them in a hug. "Don't tell anyone but you two are my favorite."


She winked and put a finger to her lips. Internet said that to all her children.


"Xander, don't be so flashy, I'm your mother. And Lin. My my, you should clean your hair." She fussed over the two of them.
 
Xander hid a smirk. Of course he was one of the favourites. Shouldn't that be expected? Stuffing some of the raining pictures in his sleeve, he cleared his throat then straightened his tie. "Of course. So, what are we here for? Because I have some things to get to..." He trailed off, pushing away some messages that appeared in front of him.

Arkemis was sitting on his nice black bean bag, his legs in a criss cross position, he scrolled through his main page then clicked on a video that was under 'Most Popular' and started to sing along to it "Double rainbow all the way across the sky!~" Arkemis sung over dramatically, the loud music could probably heard throughout the realm since Arkemis always has the volume near maximum. When the video had ended Arkemis side and closed his tab "Im always going to love that song." he said to himself as he sat up and played with the strap of his black eye patch so he could loosen it a bit. Arkemis exited his front door and started to walk around "I should totally go search what a rainbow is made of." he said to himself before seeing Mother Internet "Mommy!" he squealed happily zooming his way to Mother Internet on a youtube Icon and nearly glomping her.

"What are you here for? I don't know. Why did you come here?" Internet asked, smiling at him. She was playfully reminding him that he came to her. Obviously she knew what he came here for but she liked to hear her children say it themselves.

"Hello baby! How are you. Oh look at you, so handsome. Straighten your clothes. Ah that's better. Come give mama a hug." Internet cooed.


She wrapped her arms around him and snuggled him.
 
A.Karp's eye twitched slightly, feeling yet another sweep on anxiety as he was reminded of Sherlock. His eyes trailed over a picture of John and Sherlock, especially Sherlock's cheek bones. Oh god how sharp they are!


He then looked up to see one of his most favorite website walking about, Facebook, or otherwise known as Xander. Oh how Xander's ideals really grinds his gears.


"Hey~ Facebook-hipster-dweeb, what are you doing?" Tumblr chimed, taking a moment to put the Sherlock feels away and interrupt Xander and Internet.


"Do you want to see some new yaoi I received today? It seems like something you like," He asked, obviously being sarcastic, although it's sometimes hard to tell.
 
Expo sighed. Okay okay. Though Mother did love her children she still had work to do. The browser turned around remembering the daily read out for the percentages of viruses vs programs. This was important so the whole system doesn't break. The programs and websites never thought about the danger, and this is why Expo was often hated. Because she constantly checked for safety while Mother was all about fun. The girl held out her right hand, which had the present data and concerns. A screen in front of her appeared, and she started checking the list. " Oh no . . ." The girl started running towards the town square.


" Mother Internet! Mother Internet! We have an E-MERGENCY!!!" She came running as fast as her virtual legs could run.
 
Leia heard voices, turning away from the virus and towards the people. Mother~ Her grin widened and she started skipping towards mother before another being ran past her, breezing away and almost pushing her over. "Whoa there..." she stumbled and caught herself. "What...?" she turned in concern, looking towards the internet. "Whats going on here?" She waved at Karp and smiled at Xander and Lin. "But seriously, whats going on?"
 
"Daww your making me blush~" Arkemis said as he snuggled his motherlike a baby trying to get comfortable. When the snuggling had ended he fixed his now slightly messy hair and sat on his floating I con like it was a bench "Hey hey mom I was watching some videos that people put on me and there was this pop up that..you know popped up and it was Harmony, you know E-Harmony and she kept harrasing me and she wouldn't go away so I threw my bean bag at her." he said with a smile before turning when someone had started to run to mother saying there was an emergency.

Xander opened his mouth to respond, but bit his tongue and gave Internet a mildly grudging look. She had a point.


Without thinking, he immediately roundhouse kicked A.Karp in the face. Sure Tumblr was pretty popular, but he could still be a moron. "Sorry. Reflex. Remind me to install a dislike button so I don't have to give you a beating next time." Winking at Leia, he shoved his hands in his pockets and walked over to the side, watching from a distance.
 
"Enough." Internet said sternly. Her face seemed ominous.


The whole place turned dark red and it seemed as if it was closing in around everyone.


"Xander, sweetie, don't hit your brother. That isn't nice." Internet said giving him a creepy smile. "You wouldn't want someone to do that to you would you?"


She waved her finger at Xander and the Realm returned to normal.


"Now, what seems to be the problem Expo?" Internet asked, smiling brightly.

A.Karp rubbed his face and smiled painfully, "Well aren't you sassy today, I bet you stole it from my witty text posts" He mumbled that last part to himself. He pouted slightly at the fact that Internet had to defend him but he didn't call it out. Looking up from his painful kick to the face he saw Leia, ah how lovely of her to show up.


"Hey what's-" he was cut off by the sudden emergency. He looked intently at Expo, not getting distracted too much, which should be an achievement for him.
 
"Big. . We need some privacy." Expo was talking about the private area for Mother when she wanted peace, or was working on something. Expo gave a look of seriousness. This was big.
