She appears frozen and paralyzed with fear, because she isn't moving one bit. That sucks, because she should be running instead.

A. Say more things so she finally gets the message? (What should you say?) [FR]

B. Continue with violence? (What sorts of unwelcoming things should you do?) [FR]

C. Push her aside and go back into your car.

D. Do something else. [FR]

Seems you wouldn't be able to get a response from her if you frighten her. You go through a different approach. You relax your shoulders, and let out a sigh. You ask her again, with a much more easier tone to it.

"What are you doing?"

confused, as she stares at you with the blanket stare you've probably seen this night, as if she literally didn't understand what you were saying. Hell, she might as well have? She looked at you blankly, before simply shaking her head from side to side, as if to say "No." You aren't sure, but you don't think that was the response you were looking for. She still hasn't moved, and she is still blocking your way.

If you were to glance backwards right at this moment can only see smoke coming out from the doors, but that's because these walls are meant to contain fires, there's probably hell inside right now. Sooner or later, the walls will break down, and eventually you will have to pay the Ultimate Price, sooner than later.

It's actually not uncommon to see people who are literate and able to write with ease and be unable to speak. Computers are shockingly easy to make in this world. A legend says that if you walk several hours in one direction, you'll eventually trip over a laptop, never before seen. There are companies dedicated to making laptops for ease of use and style, but you can just make one by scratch, much like a table, or a chair, or a vacuum cleaner.

Most people use text communication to communicate to people all over the kingdom. Today, it's just computers, but in the past, letters and pigeons and messengers were common. Why you usually just use these sorts of communication to help your friend manage their business, other people use them to make necessary connections, and friendships. Literacy is necessary in order to use these services. A common language is used between all for this visual art. Of course, one doesn't usually learn by having it taught to them, they just simply emerge themselves and gather the habit for them. They figure out their rules for themselves.

Of course, this doesn't completely rule out pictures, but words are pretty much the easiest to fit on really thin lines of slips of paper, and it's easy to fit a ton of them into a small space.

Likewise, many people also live secluded away from other nations, other clans, or, in the extreme case when even their family can't accept them, alone. Many families use either body language or just through setting expectations by example, to communicate to their children and siblings. For one example, hitting someone in the face could real easily translate to, "stop that you're making things worse," or somewhere near those lines. Many clans work the same way, through their own bells, instruments, or whistles. Of course, some also use noises too, but it's more of the tone and the volume, rather than sheer words. Of course, that doesn't mean they can't have their own speech and letter patterns, but that's only for the really large clans who have much more people to deal with and more complex messages to send, and not ones that are more tight knit.

Speech, frankly, is uncommon, outside cities and very large towns, where the large amount of different types of people makes using obscure directions, personal to blood to communicate kind of hard.

god you hate your family

Not that you care for any of this. A common language somehow emerged from this, and now pretty much everyone uses it. At least, everyone should use it, in your opinion. If you're going to live in the years after the great war, it's sort of necessary to learn the common language. Let's see if she knows the other ones.

You go ahead and pull out a pen and a notepad, which is more of a record of numbers and tag names for communicating on the go, from your bag. You begin write something on it, you ask if she's able to speak or if she could hear you. She snatches from you, and begins writing, in backwards? Like, she's writing the letters, but starting from the right and going into the left. What an odd way to do things?

C. This doesn't mean anything to you. At all. You need to get home, and fast, because... [FR]

chosen; We have to help this young lady get to this place because that's where she lives

You... You had a moment of weakness.

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_08/response.png.af4849c22d2474e3d9ce4509eb085634.png" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="147614" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_08/response.png.af4849c22d2474e3d9ce4509eb085634.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Seeing as it's right on the way you seem to be going through, you guess you might as well. You want to go to your home, and she wants to go to hers, so it seems reasonable.

Having another person with you on this trip may complicate things. Stopping at Alavon Avenue might complicate things. But.

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_08/VROOM.png.f37eb90c247c7cbefb3a7029fe2c0529.png" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="147625" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_08/VROOM.png.f37eb90c247c7cbefb3a7029fe2c0529.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

You decide to take her with you in your car, (which was a bit difficult seeing as there are some stuff in the other seat, and of course things pressing against you)\, but you guys managed to make do) before starting your trip towards your home and also Alavon Avenue. You could hear some soft squishing and snapping, but it doesn't sound like it came from a person. Oh god, you need to get there, and you need to get there quickly before the night comes, or before anyone (else) sees you. And also right out of here.

At least the pros of having a completely mute partner who can't understand anything you say is the silence. The pure silence.

Vroom vroom

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_08/burning.png.d5ff3861a15ca3c3efd446d3d91d91f7.png" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="147630" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_08/burning.png.d5ff3861a15ca3c3efd446d3d91d91f7.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Arriving at Alavon Avenue is an hour long, and continuing from there to where you're supposed to be is about fifty minutes more, and that's just on ideal times. Less than a couple of hours isn't much within the length of the night, but you're an impatient person. Things just feel much lengthier to you.

You guess the sky is alright, though.

Actually, let's ask the audience. What kind of thing should happen during the trip?

[FR for all of below.]

A. Uneventful. You arrive without much bother.

B. Light hearted. Soft.

C. You get lost, somehow.

D. You find out a box lying on the side of the road.

E. You run over something.

F. Someone dies.

You find a large box near the side of the road, just lying there. The lady nudges you by the shoulder and points as it as you pass by through it. It was sort of a rough nudge too, multiple, which are extremely difficult to ignore.

What? W... What?

It's not exactly noticeable, and from a glance, it seems to be still but you think it's moving?

You break, but it takes a few seconds until it finally slows down to a stop.

You try to tell her to stop with a simple hand motion. You even try to push her back a little, but she decides to crawl out and come out anyways, because she seems just as interested in this strange box as you are.

You get closer to the box to check if it's truly moving, staying at least a few feet away from it.

It looks completely still up close. Maybe it's your imagination?

It looks like a brown box, taped up with light blue tape. It doesn't seem to have any writing or anything on it. It appears to be leaking something, a liquidy tone between red and brown.

A. Open it. [FR]

B. Keep it closed, but pick it up. [FR]

C. Keep it closed and leave it there. [FR]

D. Write in. [FR]
