Welcome to Hogwarts [Inactive]

Sebastian listened silently to Donovan talk about where he had come and taught before, his remark about the American schools was actually rather accurate in most cases. Sebastian had never taught at one himself but he was however stationed at one before, on a case back when he had still been an Auror with the ministry. They had not been very impressive with their teaching methods, it was more like a muggle school in reality, discipline was lack and the teachers no control over their students, hexs and spells every minute of everyday. A couple had been shot at Sebastian himself just for fun, the one kid regretted that move, when Sebastian leg locked him and then levitated him upside down. Sebastian was glad he had lost that temper by now he used to have, it had cost him more of his life then he cared to admit.

"I have been here for about three years now to tell the truth, although I did go here when I was a young wizard myself and I can tell you not much has changed. Its still in my opinion that best wizarding school in all the world, but then again I am just an old alumni of Hogwarts so I could never say anything bad about this place, it holds many memories for me. I actually did a short station at Drumstrang, was not a bad place to learn magic either in my opinion but not quite as homey as I found Hogwarts. What exactly brings you to Hogwarts? I thought you might want a teaching position at your old school given you spent a good part of your life there.

Sherry: "Well come on then James!" Sherry shouted behind her.

The prefects where rather upset, but it seemed like they where the only ones trying to stop her. So of course she kept going.

She swung open the doors and hurriedly stepped down the stairs.

Donovan: "Durmstrang is a very odd school. Its just like you said, not homey." Donovan said.

Donovan noticed the girl walk out the dining room, followed by a young boy.

"That doesn't look to good does it Sebastian? I know this school should be safe, but i have a bad feeling all the same. Its like a coldness gripping at my soul. Something isn't right with this place."

Donovan took a sip from his goblet.

He looked at the Headmaster and wondered what he could be thinking.

What a heavy case this man bears on his shoulders. To rebuild a school who's spirit has been broken.

Lucas entered the hall. Not knowing where he was going, he just stood there, watching everyone. (Ah geez... New place, new home. Cant believe this. What am I supposed to do? All these people sitting down, and people talking) Lucas neatened his outfit. He went over to a table with kids that had a snake banner over them. He decided to make a conversation. "Hello...?"

"My friends call me Jim." He said as he tried to catch up with Sherry.

"Did you see that Veranda chick? Do you think she's the new head of Slytherin?" James asked as he began to walk down the massive moving staircase, skipping two or three steps at a time.

The portraits that covered the walls around him were as noisy as ever, but he didn't mind, they made him feel at home. Something felt odd though, something felt different. James couldn't decide what it was exactly so he chose to ignore it, as he often does.

Sebastian slowly turned his full attention to Donovan as he said the worlds cold, it was ironic that this new man would be thinking the same thing he had been thinking only mere moments ago, uncanny in any case... but none the less he was correct in his statement. Sebastian followed Donovan's eyes to see a pair of students leaving the hall, and felt that coldness again just like Donovan had said he felt, it had been there since the beginning of the year even before the students arrived, like something was very wrong. Sebastian drew his gaze away from the great doors to the hall and back to Donovan.

"I was not even born yet when the great battle took place here, but even then when I was old enough to understand I had heard the stories about it, bout Dumbledore, and Harry Potter and how in the end he fulfilled his destiny and brought down Voldemort. The man was and still is a legend, and when I see this school I can imagine the devastation of everything that happened, maybe its because I have seen some of my own horrors in my life, or maybes its because I know that no matter how much evil is defeated it is never truly dead. I learned from an early age that you can ever only hold evil at bay, until it becomes strong enough again to break through an attack. But I have felt this coldness you speak of, like a icy chill down my spine, one I have not felt since... well since a time when I was younger."

Sebastian became silent as he took a sip from the goblet in front of him as he thought back on some of his days as an Auror, some were good, some were bad, and some were nightmares in which he would never be able to stop seeing every time he went to sleep. Looking over at Beardsley he wondered is he felt the same coldness, if he was worried about something terrible coming, but you could never read him, not even knowing the man his whole life practically could he read him. Looking back at Donovan Sebastian spoke again but shortly this time.

"All we can truly do is be prepared for when evil comes knocking, and not trick ourselves into believing it is gone forever. For only then we will be defeated."

Keira looked up as she heard murmur a hello near her, looking up to see a boy standing near their table and fellow housemates . She looked at him for a moment, figuring he was a new student as she did not recognize him. Perhaps they had just not talked to each other though they lived and attended classes in the same castle. She nodded in his direction with acknowledgement, wondering if he was a Slytherin student or just lost.

"Hello." She addressed him with a small smile, though it came out as more of a smirk. "And who might you be?" She asked pleasantly with intrigue, leaning her elbow on the table and gazing at him curiously.

"My name is Keira, 6th year." She continued, thinking that introducing herself would be the proper thing to do in this type of situation.

"Hi, Im Lucas. New student! Year 1... And you are?" Lucas couldnt believe it. Someone was talking to him! He was going to continue, then bad luck hit. His pants fell down. "Why does this always happen? I have to go, sorry about this!" Lucas ran, about to cry. "This always happens.. first few days... and my pants fall down... I am such a failure..."

Sherry:"I believe she is, my mother said she was a Vampire. Can you imagine?" Sherry chuckled.

She kept moving down the corridor.

Something didn't feel right.

A strange coldness crept on her.

She walked further down to where the corridor split into three new halls.

The paintings stopped talking. They never did that.

She quickened her pace and went down the hall to the right.

"Jim, something is wrong."

Thats when she heard the whispering.

Donovan: "I am sad to say that i agree with you Professor. Evil lurks in the darkness. It wears a mask. There must have been a moment, at the beginning, were we could have said -- no. But somehow we missed it. Prepare we must." Donovan took another bite of steak and pondered on the future of this school.

Lucas picked up his head. Something was wrong about this place. A cold chill ran down his spine. He ran outside. He looked up. Everything seemed fine. But what had he felt? Was something lurking in Hogwarts? Lucas tried to think, but nothing popped up. He went back to the hall and he wanted to tell everyone what he had felt. They would never believe him. But he had felt a chill, unnatural. What was going on?

"I wouldn't be surprised, she sure looks like one." He said with a smirk.

Jim followed Sherry to the hall on the right, it was weird, his heart was beating

faster and faster and yet his hands were numb and he felt cold.

"Jim, something is wrong."

The words echoed in his head, that bad feeling he had returned.

"I know this is going to sound really weird, but I think I know exactly what you mean."

Noah shook his head. "I'm an only child." He reaches over the table to grab his drink and take a sip. "Kind of lonely, but I cope. Besides, less children, less kids to give money to." Noah says with a slight grin. He notices some tension in the air. He looks through the middle of the hall and takes a glimpse at some of the paintings which seemed less rowdy than usual. Some teachers at the table at the front of the hall seemed to be engaged in serious conversation. Noah had a thought at the back of his mind that this was Hogwarts. If something seemed out of place, anything could happen. Dismissing the thought Noah takes his book and puts it in his pocket. "Do you notice... Anything strange?" Noah asks Diane.

"Im used to weird." Sherry said with no emotion.

She walked down the hall. Noticing the fact that no one was in the portraits.

I don't like this at all.

Sherry started sweating.

The whispering got louder. She couldn't make out what they where saying. It frustrated her.

She wanted to yell at whatever was making this happen.

She felt as if she was going mad.

Sherry kept a quick pace forward.

She noticed cracks in the walls, large cracks.

The walls also seemed to be getting darker in colour.

Almost black.

She kept walking until a black smoke creeped underneath their feet.

"Oh God what is that?" Sherry asked, lifting her converse out of the smoke and checking them.

Keira looked up in confusion as the boy's pants fell down, stiffing back a laugh and knowing it was not polite to do so out loud. She tilted her head with wonder as he ran out of the hall quickly, exchanging glances with some of her other housemates with intrigue. Interesting. She thought to herself, imagining the wonderful things the first year, Lucas, would be up to in the future. She chuckled lightly at the thought and looked up to the Head Table, frowning at the image of serious conversations around her. She glanced around at all the other tables, realizing the joyful presences of the usual Hogwarts ghosts were not there and wondering if something had occurred.

She stared down at the table in slight fear, her mind going back to the night when her parents were taken from her and Andrew. No. I have to be stronger than that. She thought to herself with determination, her hand automatically going to her robe pocket and touching her wand. She was a bright witch and thought that she would most likely be able to handle herself should a situation arise. Next, Keira looked out the entrance toward the Entrance Courtyard, continuing to frown as the walls seemed to dim and knowing that trouble was definitely brewing.

"We have to get out of her." She murmured, the suggestion more to herself than anyone else around her.

Lucas ran back in. He walked over to the girl he had met. "Your the only person I have talked to, and I feel like something is wrong." He pulled out his wand. "You see everything? Nobody seems to notice, but everything is getting darker, and the portraits arent speaking. I am getting strange chills. Cant you see?"

"Holy...." James was worried.

The smoke was now engulfing his feet as well.

He could almost feel it on his skin, as if it was a small wave hitting a sandy beach.

The hair on the back of his neck stood up.

This was the single most scariest experience in his life, he didn't even move out of the smoke, he just stood there with a blank stare on his face.

Sherry's words snapped him out of his trance.

"Uh, what the hell is going on? I'm kind of freaking out!"

Sebastian grabbed his head as he felt a sharp pain hit him, it was like the Hogwarts express hit him straight in the head, gritting his teeth he felt the pain increase. Something was wrong, something was here and its presence was devastating, Sebastian then suddenly looked around the hall as things seemed to slow down for him. There were no ghosts in the hall tonight, and the starry sky of the ceiling had turned into dark storm clouds, no something was definitively wrong. Looking over the Headmaster, Sebastian saw him looking back at him with an expression that said he felt it too. Sebastian got to his feet, quick enough that he hit his knee on the table, but he ignored the pain and the slight confusion from the nearby students. Quickly making his way down the rows of tables he exited the great hall as the pain was hurting worse, quickly looking around it was very quiet almost like a church in a muggle town, no one not even the paintings were talking.

"Sebastion....."

Sebastian pulled his wand from the holder attached to his wrist by flicking his wrist in a downward motion. He heard the distinct whisper, his heart beat heightened as he looked towards the hall which would lead too the dungeons. He was sure those kids who left were from Slytherin, Sebastian quickly illuminated his wand as he quickly headed off in that direction, the pain was worsening, something was very wrong and he had to move quickly.

Sherry: And then the portraits came back to life.

They where screaming. Shouting things that just kept getting jumbled together.

"STOP!" Sherry shouted at the pictures.

They didn't hear her, the screams seemed to rise.

Sherry ran deeper down the hall.

The smoke got thicker and it rose to her calves.

She breathed heavily. The hall was getting darker and the air seemed to thicken.

She ran, not knowing what she was running to, but she continued.

Then she was able to hear one word from the whispers,

" Tæn."

Sherry then tripped over something and rolled into a wall.

She laid on the ground for a moment. Surround by a warm wetness. The smell of iron filled her nose.

When she sat up she saw what she tripped over.

A mutilated body.

She also so what she laying in.

A pool of blood.

Sherry screamed.

Lucas heard the screaming. He jerked around and ran to the scream. It was difficult to trace out, but the portraits were screaming. Lucas was terrified. "WHATS GOING OOOONNN?!?!?!" Lucas was going to run away and scream.

Hailey got up and walked into coraddor and heard a scream and took off in the direction of the scream and saw a girl and a mutilated body. She looks at the girl and the boy that had just run up. "What is going on?" she askes trying not to scream or let her voice shake.

James was terrified.

He couldn't think straight from all these screams that surrounded him.

He saw Sherry in front of him, he heard her scream and run forward.

James froze in place again, Sherry's figure got smaller and further away from him, he saw her fall and he wanted to go and help her but he couldn't move, he just couldn't. People had started to come already, their voices echoed in his head, as did the screams.

He started to walk towards Sherry, slowly.

As James got closer, he began to realize what he was looking at.

The smell of blood and the image of the mutilated body made his stomach turn.

"Sherry?" he called out in a high and quiet voice.

Lucas ran down a small hall. He saw a boy and girl up ahead, both terrified. He had smelled blood, and saw a body on the floor. Whispers entered his head.

Screams of people filled his ears.

The two people in front of him, terrified.

He ran toward the them. "Are you alright?" But the screams drowned him out.

He tapped the boy on the shoulder. "Is the girl alright?"

Sebastian knew when heard the portraits come to life with a terrible uproar, that something very terrible had just happened. Sebastian flicked his wand as the door to the dungeons crashed out and slammed the wall he took the stairs two at a time with long glides as he came across the cobble of the old stone floor. He could already hear screams coming from a young woman, that had to be the student that left the feast. Sebastian quickly located the girl and was in shock as he saw why she was screaming on the floor was a mutilated body of a student, Sebastian quickly went forward as he took the young female student and quickly pulled her way from the body and put her against the wall, she was already caked in blood that she had fallen in and she was clearly in shock. Already students were starting to come down the hall towards the body, curious about the screams. Sebastian quickly stepped forward to stop them at the pass before they saw anything else.

"Everyone back away now! Go back to the main hall now!"

"Keep calm Professor Wicks and keep the students at a distance."

Osrics voice was soft as he had appeared only seconds after Sebastian had, and it was evident that the students were now in full foot to see what had happened. Osric stepped forward as Sebastian walked forward to meet the large group of students coming down the hall, it was clear the Osric was clearly shaken at the events in which just unfolded. Osric turned his attention to the young lady who had found the body, quickly in speed he moved over to her.

"Mrs. Hurley remain calm try to keep your attention else where
."

Osric turned from the young girl and walked over to Sebastian and spoke quickly to him.

"Sebastian I need you to escort Mrs. Hurley away from here and too my office immediately."

Osric put his hand on Sebastian's shoulder he nodded and quickly walked to the young woman. Turning his attention back to the students Osric looked at the currently present Prefects. An then to the students and spoke loudly.

"All students are to keep calm and report directly to their dorms, Prefects lead them back to their common rooms immediately."

The prefects got to work as they started to shout out orders to the ever growing mass of students.

Lucas was worried about the girl. "You, with the wand. What house does she belong to? Ill take her there." Lucas was staring at the body of the person. Blood was everywhere. "Who couldve done this?"

Sherry: Sherry awaited to be escorted away.

She was covered in blood. It dripped off her face into the already massive pool surrounding the body.

Do i know this person?

She glanced quickly at the body and was able to discern the Gryffindor crest.

Thank god it isn't Slytherin.

Donovan: Donovan watched as people started to file out of the Dining Hall and to their respective chambers.

The Professor got out of his seat and made his way out of the room.

He walked down towards the dungeons, following a mass of Slytherin children.

"Excuse me children, i need to get through."

Finally he made it to the scene. And it was a sight to see.

First thing he noticed was the walls.

Cracked and dark. Almost black.

Then he noticed the blood.

It wasn't just a pool around the girls body, it was everywhere.

Splattered on the walls, covering portraits, even on the ceiling.

Looks like we've found the darkness.

"Hey, you, the girl. What house do you belong too?" Lucas realized that was a stupid question. "Slytherin? I will take you there, if you'd like. You seem quite in shock. And if you allow me to take you there, can you guide me? I'm new to Hogwarts." Lucas kneeled next to the girl.
