Fantasy Weird War II RP

Alonso

BLACKJACK!
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here goes!

I've been interested in doing something using the Weird War II setting. For any who don't know, its basically a WWII with supernatural aspects added in. And by 'supernatural aspects' I mean it appears as though they looked up all the legends and myths and what not and found a way to slip it into WWII without completely changing WWII. A few examples I stumbled across were, zombies being used in Stalingrad, ghosts piloting Kamikaze planes and my personal favorite. An elite batch of SS Wehrwolves. Its just something about an anthropomorphic wolf man wearing a German uniform and wielding a MP40 that I can't help but grin at. There's also magic (albeit in a limited form) and miracles (religion based magic) and Blood Magic (apparently used by the Nazis, though there can be some with the Allies). Also it seems that magic and the supernatural are largely kept secret from the general populace.

I don't have that much knowledge about the specific details of the Weird Wars setting, but I've gathered enough to have a decent idea of it. What I have in mind at the moment is that something along the lines of one over all plot (the War) and having smaller stories within said plot, some leading into the others (I realize this is kinda ambitious) The beginning idea I have runs off of the Wehrwolf idea. I was thinking of having the heroes of the story (whoever they may be) end up going up against a group of Germans that has one with them. The main idea I had for it was for the Germans involved to be supporting the Wehrwolf, and none of our heroes being aware of its existence, they start off thinking that their just fighting German soldiers and slowly find out that there's more than they realize at play.

I'm not sure if I want it on the Western or Eastern front. And I do realize that the Wehrwolf idea cuts out the parts of the War that the Germans weren't involved in. Though I did read about this thing called the Office of Supernatural Investigations, which seems to be a supernatural version of the OSS. And that could allow for the characters to go from one theater to the next. But then that would ruin the idea of following a squad through the War... So you see where my problem lies.

After thinking it over, I'm leaning more towards playing a group of Soviets through the Battle of Stalingrad. Seeing as that can allow for more character diversity and more possible plot ideas.

This idea has developed from a one off story to something of a 'series' The idea is to begin early in the war and go through it. It won't stick with one batch of characters the entire way through, but wouldn't not go back to them. For example, the starting point I'm thinking of at the moment is the Battle of Bzura, which was the largest battle of the Invasion of Poland. In this story we would follow a group of Polish soldiers as they fight in the battle and come face to face with some form a supernatural/magical 'weapon' or 'unit' used by the Germans. Then after this story we'd go to another that followed this battle, but wouldn't exactly have these same character. But later on down the road we'd revisit these characters and see where they are now. It also wouldn't focus on just the European theater.

What I'm looking for at the moment is anyone who would be interested in healing create the story and be a part of it.

You don't need to be well versed in history or magic or the supernatural. if you have any questions or ideas, just let me know!

I think this is an awesome idea, but I know next to nothing about WWII and its history.

The jumping around the timeline to RP different characters at different points during the war sounds fun too!

An in-depth knowledge of WWII isn't needed for this, its my passion so I could help (but you shouldn't rely solely on me)

What I'm doing is going through the timeline (currently on Wikipedia, I'll admit) and seeing what looks interesting. And it doesn't have to be battles.

Yes, I guess I could do with a little research... Alright, count me as interested, let's see if other people sign up!

I know a shitton about WWII, out of a casual interest, but I know almost nothing about Weird War 2 as a setting. I'll do some research.
