We Shouldn't Be Together (Warriors)

BeyondOblivion

Two Thousand Club
Wildpelt yawned and he slowly dragged himself out of the moss. He looked around the den and sighed, taking inventory in his mind. He arched his spine and then quickly made his way to the herbs, counting them.

Quickly, he walked outside the den and over to the den of the leader to ask her a question.

Swirledwhisper was still curled up tight in her bed of moss and raven feathers, nothing but a mottled mess of long fur. Her tail was tucked over her nose.

After talking to the leader about a string of whitecough going through the neighboring clan, Wildpelt walked over to the deputy, Swirledwhisper, and he looked at her and smiled.

Wildpelt sighed and made his way back to his den, sorting out all of his major herbs and discarding the bad ones. He didn't have an apprentice, so he had to.

Wildpelt sighed after he got that done and walked out of the den. He noticed the majority of cats awaiting for the patrols to leave. He walked over to the den and he called, "Swirldwhisper?"

Swirledwhisper jolted awake, and glanced up, looking exhausted but slightly alert. "Hmm?" She asked.

"Past moonhigh.." Swirledwhisper yawned, standing and stretching, then padding past Wildpelt and into the camp, looking very exhausted.

"I know what you told me. I never said I would listen." Swirledwhisper yawned again, ears folding back.

"Yet this is the third time you've fallen asleep and slept in too late." Wildpelt said, walking up to her and facing at her, "You realize that if you don't stop this I will have to get Nightstar on you."

((I made up that leader))

Swirledwhisper looked away. She was half terrified of Nightstar. He hadn't ever done anything, but he was as menacing as the Dark Forest.

"Sorry." She said simply, before managing the patrols and ignoring questions of as to why she'd slept in, and if she was alright.

Wildpelt sighed and watched her intently. Just before she was done with her assignment, he laid his tail on her shoulder, "I need help collecting some herbs. Care to join me?"

Swirledwhisper sighed and her ears fell back in exhaustion. "Why not? Maybe it'll help wake me up.." she murmured, and glanced sideways, Amber eyes focusing on Wildpelt's.

Wildpelt told Nightstar about where they were going. He guided her with her tail to the exit to the camp and he lead her out to the small patch of coltsfoot.

Swirledwhisper felt her heart pound against her chest, and she slowly walked to the rock, sitting in front if Wildpelt and curling her tail around her paws. "Talk? A-About what?"

Wildpelt narrowed his eyes, "I told you that you need to sleep. You've become tired and getting lax on your duties. What's going on?"

Swirledwhisper sighed and glanced away, flattening her ears. "Nothing. I-I just can't sleep and I've snuck from camp trying to cure it; taking walks, trying to tire myself out. But nothing is working."

"I can give you herbs if you need to sleep. But this is getting serious." He looked at her, "Is this the only symptom you have?"
