¯\_(ツ)_/¯
After receiving a long hug from both his mom and dad, Isaac was quickly set off on his own into his new home. As his parents were continuing their talk with the principal, he was instructed to go to his new room. So, with his suitcases in hand and his thick black sunglasses on, he headed down the long hall to his new room. Isaac couldn't wait to meet his new roommate. He could only imagine the fun they would have and the stories they would share.

On the other side of the school, another new student was just getting to her new room. Rosa was quiet as she walked down the long stretch of halls. She also insisted that her parents don't follow, the last thing she wanted were them acting even weirder. Rosa pulled her suitcase along with her as she walked down the hall, every so often she would fidget with her clothes to make sure her skin was covered. The only thing left visible was her tan face that had a strange glossy tint that seemed to make her face shine. Her roommate better be someone alright, or she would be sure to get someone new.

Fitz's hands waved around as he loved the various parts of his computer. Something had gone wrong with the graphics card and so he had taken the entire thing apart to inspect the whole, just in case anything else might short out on him. It wasn't that hard for him to determine that or to put it back together. Being a technopath made that incredibly easy. He remained focused on the pieces that were floating around his head, completely unaware of his surroundings. Sometimes his friends said he loved technology to much, and this instance helped their case. In fact, he didn't even notice as the door to his room opened. Having headphones in and playing loud dubstep didn't help matters much either.

Meanwhile, Roni, his best friend, was in the living room. She and a few others had been talking when Maximus, a very large Native American boy, ran into the room. At the moment, the brick he had temporarily had as skin was fading away. Apparently he had been using it as camouflage and ran over immediately to tell the to there's something very important.

"New kids. Guy and girl," he said, and that was all it took. Those that didn't have roommates, like Roni, immediately jumped up and bolted, teleported, phased, or flew to their rooms.

"Please don't be me, please don't be me," she muttered, ducking under Max's log-sized arm. She stopped for a moment and called over her shoulder, "Somone tell Fitz!"

Peaking into the door, Isaac heard the muffled sounds of music. Putting his whole body into the room,he shut the door and looked about the room. He took note of the many tvs and tecnology that laid about the room, it had appeared that the owner of the room wasn't used to having any roommates around.

Placing his suitcases down, Isaac noticed the source of the humming music. Smiling, he walked over to see what his new roomie was doing. After watching for a moment, Isaac tapped on the shoulder of the other boy.

"Whatcha' doing?" He asked with a large grin spread across his pale, overly-freckled face.

When she reached the door, Rosa took a deep breath and turned the knob to open the door. Swinging the door open, she was appalled to see the room in front of her. There were various objects everywhere and her new bed was covered up by layers of clothes and various objects. "Someone doesn't know how to clean up." Rosa muttered to herself.

Sighing, Rosa began to clean up what she believed was her spot. When it was clear she placed her bags gently on the bed and opened them. She grinned to herself as she opened one up, what laid inside were her many potted plants. She hummed to herself as she carefully took them out one by one.

Fitz noticed nothing right up until he felt someone tap on his shoulder. That, he was used to. Turning around and seeing a stranger however, not so much. As soon as he saw Isaac, he yelped and jumped back. All of what he had been levitating fell immediately with a crash.

At that exact moment, Max ran into the room.

"Fitz, there's a-" He stopped as he saw the scene. "Oh. Never mind. Sorry, bro." Slightly worried that he was about to be taken on by the technopath, he backed out of the room and bolted.

Once the other boy regained his sense, he looked at the one in front of him. "Didn't your mother ever tell you it's not nice to sneak up on people?" he asked, glaring at the intruder. "Who are you, anyway? And what the hell are you doing in my room?"

As soon as she got to her room, Roni slammed open the door. To her horror, an unknown girl was standing in the middle of her room. And she cleaning it. No one touched Roni's stuff. She immediately glared and sparks jumped from her fingers.

"What the hell are you doing, that's my stuff!"

Isaac jumped back in surprise whenever all the parts he had been working with fell to the flood. He felt bad for making Fitz loose his concentration and imminently wanted to appologize.

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you." Isaac began, pushing up his sunglasses as they began to slide off his face. He giggled. "And no she didn't, she doesn't talk much." Imminently he grinned happily. "Oh! Where are my manners!" Isaac extended his arm out go his new roommate.

"Hi, my name is Isaac Eugene Walker! I'm your new roommate! I just arrived this morning."

Placing her stuff down, Rosa turned to see the source of the voice. Her nose rose as she her new roommate. She expected someone like this, punk and very fierey. The flying and sparks coming from her fingers were a new one though.

"I presume you must be my new roommate." Rosa said completely un-phased. She glanced around the room. "And I was cleaning up my side, unless you wanted this side." Rosa crossed her arms.

"I would assume this was your stuff, after all, this is you room is it not?" She turned back to finish unpacking. "Anything else you wanna say? You seem have so much to say."

Fitz stared at Isaac as though he were an alien. He did not shake the other boy's hand. After a few moments of comprehending just what this stranger was saying, he shook his head.

"There is no way that we're roommates. I would have been told about this. Sorry, but you definitely have the wrong room."

Admittedly, she did not expect that kind of reaction. This girl looked like more of the quiet type. But, that surprise didn't last long.

"Yeah, it's my room, and my stuff. You shouldn't be touching it, let alone be in here. Who are you anyway? How am I supposed to know you're actually supposed to be here?"

Placing his arm down at his side he shook his head. "Nope, this is definitely the right room. The head mistress told me this exact room." Isaac shrugged. "I don't know why she wouldn't have told you, but hey, at least you get me!" Isaac quickly remembered something. "Oh! And where are my manners."

Quickly throwing off his jacket, to reveal his pale freckled filled limbs, he reached up and took off his glasses. Behind them laid four eyes, two normal sized ones and a set of smaller ones right below them. They were all a white, milkey color with no pupil to be seen. "Ah, much better. Now what were we talking about again?"

"Well, if you must know, my name is Rosa. We're suppose to be roommates." She looked back at the bed and noticed her plants twitching slightly at her new roommates tone.

Rosa looked back."I appologize for touching your....things, but where else and I suppose to sleep? Not on the floor if that's what you think." She nodded.

"And I know this is my room, your just what the headmistress explained, more or less."

For a moment, the technopath forgot his anger in lieu of the reveal. Admittedly, he was very curious about everyone else's mutations, and really enjoyed studying them. Perhaps it was his curious nature or the fact that he had been disconnected from the world for so long he felt drawn to people like him.

"What's your mutation?" he asked, staring at Isaac's additional eyes.

--

"That's not what I meant. It's not your stuff, so you shouldn't touch it."

Roni tended to be protective of her possessions. Growing up with a sister meant that she had to share all the time, and then living on the streets meant that she didn't have a single thing to her name unless she fought tooth and nail for something. Now she finally had something to call her own.

As for the roommate situation, there wasn't a single thing she could do about it until Rosa actually showed signs of being antagonistic. Damn it. With a resigned sigh, she forced herself to be somewhat cordial.

"But since we have to do this, might as well try not to piss each other off." She held out her hand for the other to shake. "The name's Roni."

It wasn't unusual for someone to ask, infact Isaac was used to it, especially when he was around family. He didn't mind talking about it, but it wasn't something that he would completely be outright open about.

Isaac grinned with excitement, as he did so, parts of his skin began to contort into even more sets of eyes only this time they were colored and not just white like the ones on his face. His arms and neck were covered in them, they all blinked and moved independently of each other and many of them stared at Fitz.

"I've got even more if you wanna see them."

Nervously, Rosa glanced at Roni's extended arm her eyes went from the hand back to Roni's face. She sighed. "One moment." With that she went to her bag and shifted through it until a pair of long green gloves were found. She slipped them over her glossy hands and shook, her new roommates hand.

After it was over she kept the gloves on, in case something more were to happen. "Sorry, that's nothing against you, but that was necessary." Rosa said. "Unless you wanted a nasty burn or even worse left on you."

"That's... a lot of eyes," he said, surprised and somewhat creeped out. This was a new one for him. The strangest mutation he'd ever seen was the Cat, a mean girl with a tail and feline features.

She was one of the unfortunate ones who couldn't hide their "affliction" from the world, and had to deal with the most backlash. It's what made her mean, many surmised, but never said out loud. Too many were afraid of getting clawed in the face.

She watched the other girl, curious. When Rosa put the glove on, she had two different thoughts. One: she was a germaphobe. Or two: she was dangerous to touch because of her mutation. After shaking hands and receiving the comment, Ron knew it to be the latter. That had to suck.

"That your mutation? Toxic skin?" she asked.

Chuckling, he tried to calm himself down to make them stay hidden, although some still stayed in sight. "Yeah, their pretty cool. I think they like you actually!" Isaac glanced around the room. "You sure like electronics, huh?" He was fascinated by all the new sights.

"Does your mutation have something to do with them? Oh! Can you make them move?"

"Toxic everything actually." She hated it. She hated not being able to touch anyone without the fear of harming them, especially without meaning it. However it did come into use sometimes, it was nice for self defense.

Rosa gave Roni an up and down look. "And you? I saw the Lightning popping from your fingers when he first met. Is that all you can do?" Rosa asked curiously.

Fitz stared at one of the eyes that stared at him. "Um, yeah. Sure."

He looked away to answer the question. "I'm a technopath. It means I can control and manipulate technology with my mind. It also lets me understand it, in a way. I know everything about how something works just by looking at it, even if something is wrong."

The teenager spun around on his chair to the pieces of his laptop on the floor and raised his hands. They all immediately followed the motion. "I was diagnosing an issue my computer was having before you came in and interrupted me, actually."

Yes, that definitely sucked. But she figured she had enough people tell her that and let the matter drop.

"That? That was nothing. I've fixed this whole place when there was a power outage before," Roni said. "And, I can do this. You might want to step back."

She removed her jacket, revealing a shirt with an opening in the back on the upper half of the shirt. In an instant, large black wings shot out of her back. For added effect, Roni created a small field of electricity than ran up and down the length of her entire body, wings included.

A technopath? Now that was something new. However, Isaac thought it the most amazing thing he had ever seen. He wanted to ask more, but from what he got from his roommate, it was best not to.

"Wow! That's amazing!" He glanced at the pieces of laptop on the floor. "Oh..I'm sorry I didn't mean to mess up your concentration." He shrugged. "You aren't used to having someone else in here, huh?"

As Rosa watched, she took a back, she knew that Roni would have control of her own powers, but just in case she moved back. After all, she didn't want to get zapped. Her wings were breath taking, she had never seen something so incredible and she almost found herself a bit envious of Roni's mutation.

"Your wings." She began. "Their so big." Rosa move back where she once was. "And can you fly with them?" She asked, secretly eager to know her answer.

"Nope. Only one person is allowed to just walk in on me and you're not her," he said. Unwittingly, his voice soften just a tad at the mention of his best friend. Little did he know, she was in the exact same situation as him.

Quickly putting his laptop back together in a just under s minute, Fitz turned back to Isaac. "Sine we have no choice, might as well get this squared away. I like to sleep on this right half of the room, you can have the left. As I was here well before you and I clearly have more stuff, I clearly get more space. Got it?"

She smirked. Honestly, she kinda liked when people were intimidated by her powers. For so long, they had been something she feared herself, something she was ashamed of. But not anymore. She liked when people were impressed with her abilities.

"I can," she said, "I would show you but there isn't enough room in here. We could go outside and I can show you."

The more Rosa inquired, the more Roni found she liked her. She was curious, but not obnoxiously so. She seemed to be a pretty tough girl in addition, which the blonde admired. She wasn't sure about friendship just yet, however.

At the mention of a girl, Isaac grinned. "She?" He said, his grin getting wider. "Is 'she' your special someone?" As much as he wanted to know, he tried to keep calm about it. The blonde laughed it off, before he could ask anything else.

He looked to his side of the room. It was better than nothing, and Isaac was excited to share the room with someone new. "Ok, that works I guess." Before Isaac had time to look further, he quickly walked over to Fitz's side. "You have an Xbox? And a PlayStation and a WiiU too?" He said, his arms beginning to pop with the colorful eyes again. "Oh! You get all the cool things!"

"I'll hold you to that, I would like to see it one day." Rosa knew better than to over step her boundaries. As much she would have gladly went and saw her fly, Rosa still kept a watchful eye on Roni for now. She couldn't too careful when it came to new people. It was Rosa's number one rule to never go off first impressions of anyone, no matter how bad.

Rosa went back to unpacking as the two continued to talk. "So this room was all yours?" She began, gently taking more plants from her bag. "Why didn't you have a roommate like everyone else?" Rosa added.

"What? No, she's my best friend. You can't just go around and make assumptions like that," he said. His tone was meant to be light, but there was a certain hard edge to it too.

Fitz had been fully prepared to go back to his music and work while Isaac unpacked, but apparently his new roommate was more inclined to be nosy. "Yeah, don't touch them."

"Alright then."She retracted her wings and let the electricity die out, Truthfully, she kind of needed that. She had been feeling a little overcharged lately. Now Fitz wouldn't have to deal with it.

Roni went over to her bed and began reorganizing her things. She was still a little miffed about that. "Yep, but I'm not the only one. We don't have too many kids here in comparison to a real boarding school. Besides, I'm used to being on my own, so I was never considered to get a roommate. "Til now, anyway."

Isaac frowned. "Sorry, I guess I just figured things I shouldn't have." He was abut threatened by Fitz, Isaac knew that he needed to be careful around Fitz, he seemed to life his space and he needed to respect that.

After being scolded, he shuffled to side of the room and opened up his suitcases. He began to unpack, humming as he did so.

"This place seems so big, it's strange to think that there isn't many people here." Rosa said, taking out the rest of her plants. She placed them around her side and quietly whispered to them, smiling as she did so.

"Was it nice to be in a room by yourself?" She asked, her back turned to Roni as she spoke. "Or did you want a roommate?"

Now that the other mutant had finally stopped talking, Fitz plugged his headphones back in and began diagnosing the rest of his systems. Since he had fixed his laptop, he might as well make sure everything else was in working order. Plus, if his many-eyed roommate happened to break anything when Fitz wasn't in the room, he would know what he had done.

"Well, the headmistress can't get every mutant kid out there," she said, almost bitterly. "No one ever wants to lose their space. That's how wars start, usually. But I never really said I didn't before, so I guess that's why I ended up with one. No offense."

In silence, Isaac began unpacking his things. He hung his clothes into his closet and set out a few of his various othe objects. Namily his cell phone, DS, and a few framed pictures. He knew he should be careful around his new roomate and he needed to remember to watch what he does.

Rosa simply listened on and nodded. She wasn't sure whether to take Roni lightly or be a bit on edge. It could just be how she was, but Rosa felt that Roni could be very rude. She could see why she might not have had a roommate sooner, but she still wasn't sure how she felt about it.

"None taken." She sat s few plants onto to top of her dresser. "I'm not one to get worked up too easily." She quickly glanced over to Roni and quickly back to her bags. "Unless you actually try to piss off." She corrected herself.

At first he tried to watch him out of the corner of his eye, but quickly became immersed in his systems check. He almost forgot that the other boy was there. Just before he stopped thinking about Isaac, he decided that he would need to talk with Roni as soon as possible. She would let him complain then help him get his mind off of it. That was why she was his best friend.

Roni, while slightly more warm to Rosa than she had been at first, still did not quite know what to make of her. She didn't particularly like having someone in what had been her personal space, but that wasn't the other mutant's fault. But for now, Roni would be cautious and keep a respectful distance until she knew more about her new roommate before deciding on anything for sure.

"Hey, don't try and piss me off and I won't try and piss you off. Simple system."

Although, the silence wasn't his favorite part of his first day it was better than being yelled at or being answered with a snarky remark. When Isaac finished unpacking, he sat on his bed. He didn't say much but simply sat and took in the situation. He admired Fitz's collection of tecnology, maybe one day they could play one of his many consoles. For now, he would be careful not to over step the boundaries.

Rosa didn't take well to Roni's abrupt way of putting things. She could see tention growing between them in future if they didn't get on good terms. For now she would try and keep the peace.

"Likewise, so basically don't mess with my plants and we will be ok."

Fitz completely ignored his roommate in favor of his technology, hoping that maybe Isaac would go away. Explore or something, so that he could go find Roni and tell her of his unfortunate circumstances.

"Got it," she said. She had no intentions of going anywhere near those plants. They gave her a weird feeling for some reason. Not that she would tell anyone that. Except for maybe Fitz.

He was sick of just sitting, with a sigh he sat up. "I'll be back, I just need to go, uh, take a look at something." He knew that Fitz wouldn't be listening but he figured that it would be better if he left for now. Perhaps he may even cool off.

"Thank you, Roni." She said. After placing the rest of her things away, she sat on side of the room and glanced over to Roni's side. "What do you normally do here? Or do you mostly stay in here when you don't have any classes?"

As soon as Isaac left, and had ample time to choose a direction and go that way, Fitz grabbed his phone and texted Roni.

[Text: Thunderbird] Need to talk. NOW. Usual in ten.

Once it was sent, he grabbed a sweatshirt and headed for the greenhouse. It was a large, domed structure a little ways away from the main building. It was filled with all kinds of plants, and insects. Most of them were butterflies, so that the plants could be pollinated, and no one had to worry about bee stings. It was strange that the two most technologically inclined students there would choose such a natural place to meet, but that's how it was.

Fitz entered the building and became immediately aware of the sprinkler systems, the irrigation systems, and the thermal regulators. He barely noticed, as he sensed them so often, and headed for one of the very large cherry trees. He hoisted himself up and sat on one of the branches to await his friend.

-------

"I wander around, mostly. Sometimes I play video games with some of the other students, or just hang out." She felt her phone buzz and checked the message. "And sometimes I meet my friend to chat, like I'm about to."

She stood up and headed for the door. "I'll leave you to unpack, I guess. If you ever have any questions, just ask."

Isaac stood outside the door. He knew that Fitz hadn't seen him, it was just as he wanted. When he knew that Fitz was gone, Isaac shifted back into the room. Taking a deep breath he sank onto his bed.

He looked up to the celling, a few of his eyes opening up in his arms. It would be a long year, and he hoped it wouldn't be this awkward and he and Fitz would actually get along.

"I wanna go home." He whispered to himself.

-----

Her eyebrows raised. "You sound like you have things to do, much more than I would be doing." Rosa watched as Roni got ready to slide out the door. Looks like she really was really into talking with her friends. Much more than she had thought.

"Ok, I'll be here then." Rosa nodded. "If you need me, you'll know where I'll be."
