A few Character types:
This includes oni known as demons among a long list of other folklore. All supernatural classes fall under this category, even Phantoms.
Humans with the ability to summon a creature of non-anthropomorphic relation. They have ties to the spirit world for one reason or another and bear an aura that captivates said creatures.
Are conjured from a wandering spirit of a dead human. Usually ones died from a murder or accident. They can be summoned as a second chance because they still wanted to live. They are given a new name which becomes permanently placed upon the Regalia’s skin. He/she will have three or sometimes four names: Real name, replaced name, weapon name, & sometimes a nickname.
Abilities: In human form the only power it can summon is Boundary. A protection spell against aggressive Phantoms and the like. If the foe is too powerful the barrier will break and eventually shatter. Three Regalia can form a Prison by placing the Boundary into a triangle trapping someone inside. This is used as a means of purification on a corrupted Regalia.
Releasing: A Regalia can be released if they are unhappy. The name imprinted on its body will disappear and they are able to find another master to serve, however, their acquired abilities will disappear and they will gain new ones. If the Regalia’s name is removed by force ‘right of purification’ the Regalia will die.
Are Regalias with multiple names on their bodies. These ones are owned by numerous gods. They are referred to as Strays and looked down upon. This happens when a different god gives the Regalia a new name when it still is owned by the pervious. These Regalia cannot be bound or restrained and can betray their masters.
Note: If choosing to play a Nora, you will be respectively playing two-three characters as the Nora has more than one master to serve.
A human that can cross the plane onto the spirt world but only by falling asleep. However, this leaves their mortal body venerable. Their spirit body gains a “cord” i.e a tail, ears, etc. that if damaged will sever ties to the spirit world. It has been said that some demons are able to kill the human body of a Phantom but this is extremely rare.
Supernatural creatures of all shapes and sizes. Some even take on a human form. Youmu can transform into a mythical animal form. This can include a variety of fantasy creatures like a nine tailed fox or a large phoenix. Most are relatively docile without humans even aware of their existence. However, there are times when a youmu’s behavior will upset the balance, so the Spirit World Warriors among other hunters are sent in to exterminate them.
A very rare occurrence between a full youmu and a human. They do not take on the forms of animals but don power just the same. Theirs is more unstable and bound to backfire from time to time. This causes them to be very dangerous as they do not know the extent of their abilities, which can be limitless. Most view Half-Youmu in a negative light and tend to steer clear of them.
:"]People personally instructed to extinguish all Youmu regardless of behavior. Their abilities were passed on by blood through a long line of SWW. They specialize in fighting Youmu in particular but can also slay other demons as well. They usually carry an air of arrogance about them or are defensive when around other Hunters as they are the last of their line--not many are left. It is their sole responsibility to uphold their linage and protect their family’s name.
Supernatural mystics travel from the spirit plane to the mortal world soliciting their services for one reason or another. Some are highly competitive while others simply enjoy aiding troubled humans, not caring about payment. Money is still highly valued as like humans, mystics need shelter too, and some even strive to create shrines where humans offer prayer. Becoming a well-known deity does not happen overnight…it takes millennium.
There are millions of gods in existence. They are not seen in the mortal world but dominate the spirit realm. They are either prosperous; owning countless shrines and receive many prayers…or they are the opposite; quite poor and unknown. The latter must advertise themselves in both the spirit and mortal worlds. Going on missions to defeat threats and assist with assisting prayers in return for little money. This is a tiresome excursion with most never reaching the notoriety they seek.
