Overview
"The Milky way galaxy has been cast into the waters of turmoil and strife for almost ten millenium; ever since the grand traitor Horus cast his lot with the cursed dealings and gibbering tongues of chaos, the galaxy itself was plunged into pandemonium. Planets trembled and entire systems burned. We, the Imperium are at war. A constant war on all fronts. Fighting off the Xenos, Mutant, Heretic and Traitor."

For some, however, this utter chaos is relished and embraced. Those who praise the chaos gods, people who wish to rise against the stagnant and corrupt Imperium wishing for their own freedom. Never, has such destruction been so rewarding. Be you heretic or mutant there is a place for you in this expansive galaxy of conflict. The Halo systems, teetering on the very edge of the known galaxy itself are often unexplored & unmarked on many maps. These systems are even outside the reach of the ancient Astronomicon. Entire empires have risen and fallen without ever being known by the prying eyes of the Imperium. It is for this reason, they are a personal haven to some.

The heretic and mutant in particular thrive in these places, where the men of the crumbling empire dare not tread. We, the "tainted and corrupt" flock here like moths to the flame. Undisturbed, untouched and untraceable. Heinous crimes are committed, eldritch rituals performed and primeval relics discovered.

Freedom and lack of authority is a common privilege for some of us, but the cost of such freedom has a price.

A Soul damning price.

The Halo Stars
The Halo stars are one of the most vague, mysterious and ancient systems in the entire galaxy. They are widely feared by even the most hardy and risk taking of Rogue traders, who often avoid them outright. It is here that many of our Journeys will begin. Numerous Xenos, relics and other things considered unholy inhabit these stars, though to find out what they are, one must look directly for it.

Only the most heinous and twisted of people and things can be found in these numerous, desolate systems. The stars themselves are often dead or dying, giving a small glimpse of just how ancient and deserted these systems truly are in comparison to the core worlds of the Imperium. You will seldom find flourishing Hive cities or Spaceports, but mere desolation and the unknown.

RP Info
Hopefully all of that was enough to tingle your interest. The overview is vague over what exactly the Rp is about.

Simply put, this will much be like an exploration crew Rp except that It will center more around the darker parts of the 40k Universe. In layman's terms, we'll be playing "evil" explorers. A small crew of seven who are considered damned or abominable by the Imperium, be it because they worship the Chaos gods or are mutated beyond saving. This crew will not have brotherly bonds like the Space marines but work together for their own selfish reasons. A Khornate Cultist joining simply because they believe that joining such a Crew will allow them to personally accrue a great number of skulls to please their Blood God, or a heretical Xenos artifact collector. Anything that would be considered unholy and damning to the Imperium would be quite viable for personal character play. However, players will be unable to play Xenos characters. Though, given the amount of Lore that the 40k Universe is bathed in, a great amount of variety can already be found even when limited to Human characters. An exception to this would be that players will be capable of playing Chaos or Stray Space marines. You may play as almost any character as long as they have one, sole reason for joining this damned crew.

If you have any further questions, feel free to direct them to me personally via PM or in the thread.

If you are interested, please do state so down below so I know how many people wish to join.

@Weston Da Wookie

Fear not my friend, I myself being the
nerd Intellectual that I am makes me quite capable of explaining all the needed information. I'll bet sure to set up a Q&A thread once the RP itself gets started.

A good place to start would be the Warhammer 40k wiki.

It's incredibly informative, though try not to be intimidated by the size.

If you have any questions you wish to have answered before the thread is launched and find the wiki insufficient, feel free to shoot me a PM!

[QUOTE="Weston Da Wookie]I think this is kinda cool. I must warn you though, I am very uneducated in the 40K universe.

Fear not for I am a long winded bastard at Heart.

40k! The heretics guide.

Chapter 1: A History of the False God.

Forty thousand years ago, all the words psykers gathered together and committed mass suicide. From that ritual death, they birthed something far greater then the total of its parts. The gave birth to a man who would latter become know as the god emperor.

He was indeed super human. More intelligent and physical powerful then the average man but where he really shined was his Psychic power. On our current scale of 1-10 he was a 1000. Do note the increase is exponential not linear.

He conquered, the history books say it was a time of techno barbarians but history is written by the winner, so whether he slaughtered millions of innocent or not we will never know.

For thirty thousand years he developed weapons of war, lead armies, created the space marines and took all the galaxy under his control.

The planets he conquered, he forced to make weapons, and soldiers for his wars. If they did not comply they were mercilessly put to the sword until they did. Millions and then billions died, and lived a lifetime of servitude for him to conquer so much.

Then just ten thousand years ago his own son thought there could be another way. Speaking to the chaos gods his son decided to attempt to free humanity and turned his armies upon his father. It was a civil war that wrecked the entire nation.

We lost all our centers of science and research, Most of our great cities and wonders. It set us back thousands upon thousands of years and even know we are trying to replace our lost knowledge.

The emperor did not die though, no he lingered on nearly dead just a few organs on life support. They say that he preforms a million miracles a second however they have no proof.

So in his name and false worship, they continue his practices, forcing entire planets to salve away making weapons and armor, and enlisting millions upon millions to there war in every direction.

They hunt out any who disagree, alien, mutant, or otherwise.

Indeed, I'll assume there a Psyker/Sorcerer given they're Thousand son.

@Barbas

I've never heard of The Red Gobo before, but If they're not Human-Space Marine then no.

If they are, then could you explain what they are?

The Red Gobo is the title of a Grot that leads the Grot revolution on GorkaMorka

This seems quite interesting so I'll try it out. One question though, may I be a corrupt Inquisitor that worships Khorne or Tzeench (forget how it's spelt)?
