"Yeah, I suppose." She said to Jay. Saying 'us' bothered Carter for some reason. "Max. Short for Maxine." She lied convencingly. In case any of them did wok for the two ro were the two. 'Don't trust anybody.' She reminded herself, handing Jay the gun again. "I don't like long distance weapons." She said, cotninueing to hold it out towards him.

"I don't like you not having a gun. I know about the blade under your cloak, it's tip has pointed out several times, but what if someone is at a range? What if I or Sean aren't there?" Jason said reasonably, not taking the glock handed out to him. "Oh and uh...I noticed that your jaw tightened when you told me your name, and your eyes didn't meet mine for a second. Remember, Military Vet, I know every single trick in the book, lady. Is that your real name? What, are you afraid I'm going to background check you or something? Have you arrested for public profanity" Jason said which a laugh and a smile.

"Uh, I'm Quentin," he blurted out suddenly. "Just thought I would join in if we're sharing names and all." A small smile fell on his face as he rocked back on forth from his heels to his toes. The boy wasn't totally against the idea of a group. Being out here alone obviously wasn't working very well for him. Not to mention he was starving and crazy tired.

Jason looked up at Quentin. "Jason 'Jay' O'Shaughnessy, Valor-6 Task Force, Allentown" Jason said with a smile, and he then turned back to

"Maxine", smiling at her as well.

A cold day in the Adirondacks it was. The sun shined through the branches of the trees but none quite hit the man the same way, the wind blew the smoke from his cigar to the left as he stood shotgun in hand staring up at the wonderful blue sky, such beauty was needed in the world to be honest. And he was happy to see most of the morons that were past people walkers he could kill. Not saying he was crazy or anything he just really enjoyed to hone his skills in. He was getting old and he kind of retired not to long ago, retired from the army that was and now he had no where to train. So he trained on the zombies. Vik was stacked with equipment and weapons and he looks pretty rugged. Pretty beat up and out of date.

And he really did not give an f at the moment. I mean he was chilling in the middle of the forest smoking a cigar waiting for who knows what. And he was alone and blood covered like most of the others. Dirt and mud stained his clothes, he looked like he had been out there for a while, and by that I mean being a nomad. Viktor was humming some song, it sounded like the russian national anthem as he looked into the forest, just staring off into the distance, but he heard something and bit down on his cigar clicking the safety button on his shotgun and tightened his grip waiting...

-- Denzel and Ray continued deeper into the forest still arguing until Ray stopped suddenly and looked over at the trees. Denzel shrugged him off, but eventually noticed it as well. A puff of smoke could be seen in the distance, which was sort of unnatural since they were so deep in the forest. Denzel looked over at the area in utter contempt. He was sick of all these people hanging around where they lived. Ray however needed to investigate, he slowly walked towards the smoke until he saw a figure of a man. He slowly crept forward attempting to wave at the stranger, which probably wasn't a good idea, but he was too friendly to notice how unsafe this was. "Hey..."

Just then, Carter passed out from exhaustion. Jason immediately caught her by under the legs and her torso, and he hoisted her up. "Oh, okay, okay, okay, it's alright, I gotchu" Jason said, and he smiled as he walked her over near a log. He let her rest against it bare for a second while he emptied his bag of anything that might be uncomfortable for her, and he then put it down against the log, putting her head against it as a pillow, and the rest of her lied there limply on the grass. Jason sighed, rolling his neck. He was getting tired, too, but he had promised Sean he'd keep watch for the night. Speaking of Sean, Jason saw him over to his right passed out on the ground, his shotgun and his bag next to him. Jason was glad, the two needed sleep. Jason hoisted himself up on the log and he then motioned for Amelia and Quentin who were still over at the pond to come join him, putting the things he had taken from his bag on the floor next to him, which was the can of beans and the dirty bottled water.

{{ She's not awake btw, so I'll just do 1-sentence replies for her, I don't think she'd mind anyways. }}

-- Ameilia saw him gesture to her and walked over.

{{ Okay I'll leave this here and if Vice doesn't reply by tomorrow then Dani can reply and this is invalid :) @KurtH6355 }}

Viktor was having a great time just chilling until some kid came to him, where did this kid even come from, and what was he doing in the forest anyway. Viktor turned loosening his grip on the shotgun and turned to the boy, he was an older guy so it was presumed he was not a threat, however the scars told otherwise and the dead look in his eyes showed days of the past, days he did not want to relive. "Don't think someone has come and said hey like that in years, normal conversations seem so odd now a days" Viktor says his voice deep and his heavy accent really making it hard to understand him, he also said something under his breath as he looked around a lot super paranoid of why the guy approached him like he did. The kid was too calm.

-- Ray gave him a welcoming smile, "what are you doing out here all alone?" He asked and then made a sort of flustered movement "OH! By the way, my name's Ray. How about you? You seem friendly enough." Denzel then walked up and gave Vik an ugly look as though he had just saw something incredibly hideous.

Viktor watched as the kid smiled and got closer, he took a step back and decided to reply "Finding supplies, what are you doing with the little suka over there." he says pointing to the kid who was giving him the stink eye "If you dont want your head through that tree right there, I suggest you turn away and quit looking at me like that little suka" Viktor says then looks back at the extremely happy kid in the front "Should I be afraid of others popping out and robbing me" he says, less asking but knowing from experience how much people betrayed in a world like this and the way the two were acting was super suspicious, one was super happy while the other was giving him a glare.

Sean was too tired to deal with much of anything. Damn, my head hurts like nothing else, he thought, as he tried to sleep. He lied there in the grass for a long time, maybe an hour. Unable to sleep. He was so tired, but everything was keeping him awake. His head. His thoughts. Sean trusted Jason. He trusted him to protect him. For this night. He hadn't decided what he wanted to do tomorrow. Convince them to join him in his jouirney, or go his seperate way? Jason would need help. Not to mention...if Jason got out of hand the children would need help taking him down. He was done thinking about it for now. If only it would stop playing through his mind. What would Annie want me to do? He sighed, and slowly sat up. Amelia and Quentin were asleep, by the fire he had started. Jason had been tending to the girl, Max. Before they had all gone to bed, Sean had shared deer jerky and dried fruit with them. As well as water from his centeen. He hadn't shared something with them though. He pulled his flask out of his coat pocket, and cleared his throat.

Quentin lied with his back faced to the others. His right arm was under his head, acting as a pillow. The night was calm and quiet, the only thing that pierced through the silence was the small chirps of crickets. For some reason he couldn't fall asleep, maybe it was because others were with him. You'd think that would make him feel safer and more secure, but it didn't. Maybe it was because he was used to sleeping alone. He usually did it up in a tree to avoid the walkers; so being on the ground made him feel uneasy as well.

Sean saw the boy with the long hair stir, over where he was sleeping on grass near the young woman. He took a swig from his flask and felt the bourbon warm him from the inside out. Warm his cold bones and his shot nerves. Relax his muscles. He shivered slightly. The wind was bitter tonight. It was blowing hard, and rustling the trees. He was glad to have people with him, even if he couldn't sleep.

Carter's eyes shot open and she sat up, eyes widened and looking around panicked. She relaxed a bit when she saw where she was. 'Just resting next to a fire..' She thought, holding her breathe for a bit to calm herself before letting it out slowly. She sat up, noticing that her hood wasn't up. 'Well, s***.' She thought, flipping it back up. 'Of course they would look at my face..' She thought bitterly, standing up and walking away from the group a bit before climbing a tree. Carter put the machete in her mouth and swiftly climbed the tree. Once she reached a sturdy looking limb, she sat on on it to check and then layed down. She took the machete out of her mouth and sheathe. She preffered being alone when she thought. 'Military, of course he would know how to tell if somebody was lying. Was my hood down then? Could he see my eyes? Does it really matter anymore? Yeah.. It does, doesn't it. There are still bad people in this world and I need to be prepared for it.' Cater told herself before taking her backpack off and taking out a pack of raman. It wasn't the worst thing ever, just kind of bland. 'I wonder why Luke-' She didn't want to think of him. 'Just let it go.' Carter told herself, now trying to think of a way to convince them that her name was Max. 'Why do I need to at this point? They know what I look like. Atleast Jay does. Hopefully only Jay...' She thought sighing before putting the plastic in her back and then using it aa a pillow and staring at the few limbs above her, occasionally jumpong and noises of the night.

Jason, who was still awake but leaning against the log next to what he thought was Max but was Carter, noticed when she woke and stood up. "Woah, hey, calm down Cloak-And-Dagger. If you stand up from a resting position that quickly like that, you could cause damage to you brain and even pass out like you did last night" Jason said. "Before you run off" He added, holding out the Granola bar once again to her. As he was waiting for her to take it, he said "If you don't want to tell me your real name, that's fine, but I think trust between the two of us is important. To my understanding, we're in a group now, or atleast on good terms, considering me saving your life and you not shooting me in the back when I passed you the glock back at the pond, and we're gonna start sleeping near eachother. This means that we're gonna have to keep watch, one of us, every night. I kept watch all last night because I knew you and Sean needed the sleep, but that won't be like that every time we slumber. One day, Sean and I will be asleep, probably passed out drunk" Jason laughed, and added "And we'll need you to watch our ass. I mean, I trust you more than those other two" He said, nodding toward Quentin and Amelia who were still asleep. "Can I trust you to protect me during my sleep, Cloak-And-Dagger?" Jason said with a smile, holding out the granola still.

(Sorry to kind of cut of your entire post, but Jason was next to Carter and never fell asleep, and a character like Jason would want to talk to her and feed her before she ran off)

Carter turned to face Jay and looked at the granola bar. "No thanks." She said, then listening to what he has to say. "Carter. My name's Carter." She said. She already knew that he saw what her appearance was so there's no use in saying it. She continued to listen. "I guess so." She said before tunning off.

I have to go to school now, bye!))

Jason smiled, watched her run, and hollered "Hope you're coming back!" and he put the granola back in his pocket. Some day he'd get her to eat it, he was determined, He hollered to Sean "I'mma get a wink of sleep, mind keeping watch?" and when Sean complied, Jason yawned and rested against the log a little more lazily, falling asleep within seconds.

-- "Well to be honest, you may need to watch your back, we were attacked not to far from here actually..." Ray looked back at Denzel who was, once again, retreating into the forest, he wanted nothing to do with all these people just popping by, it was becoming pretty ridiculous. "In all honesty they seemed pretty nice, just watch out for this one guy, he likes to steal guns." Ray smirked and then turned away about to go after Denzel until he heard Jason say something near him.

"Oh dear..." He said.
