Sean didn't really know what to think about the little girl trailing behind Carter silently, either. She was a little thing, so it's not as if she could over power him if she turned out to be untrustworthy. He put it aside. She was probably just traumatized, like everyone else. He heard Carter throw her cloak off, and glanced back at them. Then went back to paying attention to the woods.

Quentin, in the back, watched Carter throw the black and bloody mess onto the ground and smiled. "Good riddance." he muttered, looking over at the small blonde girl. She's kinda hot actually, he thought. Hopefully she was like...at least 15. 15 was his limit. However, Quentin didn't have a good history with guessing ages. "Max is a cute name." he said in his best whisper, trying to make conversation. Sleepy though he was. Talking always made him feel better.

Carter heard the taller boy say "Good riddance." and sighed lightly. There goes her cloak. Now all she had left is her clothes and her very white skin that looks like it's glowing. 'Perfect. Now I can't hide as well..' She thought, running her hands through her sticky hair and then hearing him say her cover name was cute. "Hm?" Carter asks, raising an eyebrows slightly when she turned around to face him. 'Is he complimenting me?' Carter thought, a little wide-eyed.

Quentin smiled more widely at Carter when she turned to face him, "Is it short for something?" he asks, starting to pay a little less attention to their surroundings and more to the girl. Sean, up ahead, was focused enough for the two of them. It's not like the zombies were super quiet anyway.

Bellamy walked along like the good little girl she was willing to be for the time being. She couldn't decide whether she wanted to ran for it now or later once they all fell asleep. If she was lucky, she might even get the chance to steal a weapon and some supplies. She could go nowhere without a weapon, that was something she knew. At some point the girl she now knew was named Max dropped her cloak and Bellamy's face brightened a little. If she threw it, she doesn't need it. She picked the cloak up and folded it sloppily. She didn't mind the blood and she thought Max was stupid for throwing something so cool away just because of some blood. She couldn't wear it so long so she held it under her arm and made a mental note to cut it to her size later. She then took a few steps forward, standing beside the older man. He reminded her a little of her father, or at least a tougher version of him, the way some strands of his gray hair were already turning white and and even the wedding ring on his hand was similar to her father's. But didn't all father's and middle aged men look the same? They did for Bellamy.

((Sorry for the wait, I overslept and I left Bellamy standing there doing absolutely nothing!"))

"Maxine." Carter said simply. She didn't have enough time to pay attention to the boy. Her focus needed to be what was around them or lurking in the shadows. She turned back around hastily, glancing around at the underbrush and trees. 'The girl had leapt from the trees, who's to say something like that wouldn't happen again?' Carter thought, glancing at the little girl who was now next to Sean. For some odd reason, she made her uncomfortable. 'D***... I should've left her back there. There's to many risks taking a girl that tried to kill somebody in.' Carter thought, then sighing. 'It's kind of what I was doing behind Jay wasn't it? It's survival of the fittest.' Carter thought, clenching onto her machete a bit more. 'Be alert.' Carter told herself, tensing herself up.

Sean glances down at the dark haired little girl, and nods. He even gives her a little bit of a tired smile. "I'm Sean," he says in a whisper, "You don't have to come anywhere with us if you don't want to." He could hear the children behind him talking, but he could tell that they were still paying some attention. It didn't matter, not right now, though it would in a short time. They were almost there. It was about twenty more yards through the woods to the highway, and after that it was only a quarter of a mile before they reached the Safeway. The sign was visible as the trees became less dense. Quentin had told him about the Safeway, and since it was on the way to the place he knew about, they had decided to stop and resupply. If the place wasn't too overrun by now, that was.

Quentin, noticed that she wasn't paying much attention to him, but that was ok. He just wanted to talk. "Maxine? I like it. It's kind of old sounding though...like an...older woman. Like Diana or Opal or Carol. Maxine.", he chuckled, turning his head to look where she was looking. And then turning to look at her again. "Uhh...speaking of...older women? How old are you?"

Carter kept a close eye on the little girl, still a bit nervous. Her attention was drawn to Quentin's question and statements. "Thirteen." Carter answered, waiting for his shocked response. Most people thought she was older than she actually was because of the way she acts and what she knows.

Quentin smiles at her even wider, then glances up at Bellamy and Sean. Sean says something to the little girl, then looks back and shoots him a stare. An icy blue glare, really. He's listening. It's hard not to hear every word Quentin says. He doesn't seem to know how to be quiet. Quentin immediately looks away, into the woods. Why did people always accuse him of being a freak. 13, she said. He heard her. And he saw...something. "Hey, what's..." His eyes narrow and he says, "Oh, s**t.", pointing to a groaning zombie approaching through the woods. He didn't really know if he was going to be able to kill. The gore, it was nothing like watching horrow movies. He moved closer to Carter, and clutched his gun in his hand. He clicked the safety off, just in case.

Carter looked at the clown and swallowed a lump that was rising in her throat. "Sean." She whispered. Carter wasn't going to be able to kill it. Carter noticed Quentine scoot closer to her and she rolled her eyes slightly. 'It's not like I can protect you..' Carter thought, gripping her machete.

Sorry for the short replies, some personal things are going on with a friend that I need to help with.))

Bellamy looked at the two that were older than her yet crawled near Sean as if they hadn't lived through this kind of situation before. Bellamy couldn't reach their heads and she was helpless once they wrapped their arms around her but she had her own ways of fighting. She stood in front of Sean and looked up, straight into his blue eyes that also reminded her of her father. She stole a quick, unintended glance at the ghost of him before turning her attention to Sean again. "Old man." she called out to grab his attention "Give me a weapon, I'll kill the dummy for you." she said with a demanding but not hasty tone, as if she was asking for money to buy candy.

Sean blinked down at the little girl, then suddenly looked up at a sound. The safety on Quentin's pistol clicking off. He frowned with his whole face and in a deep and forceful whisper said, "Quentin." The corpse was making that strange noise, that death rattle that goes on forever, as it advanced toward them. Mouth gaping, bloody teeth snapping, it moved closer to them through the trees. And Quentin was standing in front of the girl, with his gun held up. "No guns." He handed the little girl his other throwing knife nonchalantly.

Quentin got closer to Carter, in order to stand between her and the zombie. He was trying to be protective, even though he was scared and grossed out. The woman stummbling toward them in the dark was naked and it looked like most of her torso had been torn apart. The gore hanging out of her and off of her was all partially frozen. He raised his gun as it's eyes somewhat focused on the two of them, and it groaned. Quentin heard Sean say, "Quentin. No guns." and he remembered his knife. Quentin reached for it with his free hand.

Bellamy squeezed the knife in her hand. She wasn't so young that she couldn't understand why people where so afraid of the dummies, but the world was now a place far simpler than before, her father had said that before he died. In the world before the dummies saying the phrase survival of the fittest was frowned upon and Bellamy could never understand why. Why where dummies worse than a wild dog or a crazy man? She jumped forward and stabbed the knife into the dummy's knee, then pulled it back and stabbed the other knee. She once saw a man cutting a dummy's leg off with a knife but she couldn't do that no matter how much strength she used. The dummy didn't fall, it dragged its feet forward, hand stretched towards the little girl and teeth rattling endlessly. Bellamy hopped back a few times and looked at the bloody knife in her hands. She was not afraid of blood. She was the type of kid that spent many hours outdoors and she had been covered in blood more than a few times even before the dummies appeared. She looked around and clenched her fists until her knuckles turned white. She was a little scared even though there was only one lone dummy but more than anything else she was angry because she couldn't think of a way to reach the head.

Sean stepped up, growling. He finished off the corpse with a quick and effortless skull puncture. Her jaw went slack and she fell, even more lifeless, to the forest floor. Looking down at Bellamy, he chuckled, "Lucky you, that knife is made for throwin' anyway."

Bellamy lifted her head to look at Sean with sudden interest in her face "I want to learn how to throw knives." she said. As far as her experience went knives were meant for stabbing, not throwing. This was something completely new and she could postpone her plan to rob them and run away a little if it meant she could learn a new way to defend herself.

Carter backed up, letting Quentin in front of her. She didn't want to see her die. She knew they weren't human anymore, but to think that they once were and that they may have a chance to come back alive would make you a murderer, wouldn't it? 'Stop over thinking it.' She told herself, closing her eyes and looking away from the shambling mess.

Cater didn't open her eyes again until the little girl and Sean had started talking. Once she opened them, she avoided to look at the clown and she started to walk in the same direction that they were heading in the first place. No words were spoken, a solemn look covered her face as she stared at the ground.

Sean nodded, as he stuck his knife back in it's sheath. Then he turned and followed Carter and Quentin. He couldn't see very well, even with the moon casting it's eerie glow on everything, and that was a problem. Not wanting to scare the children, he hadn't mentioned it yet. For now, it seemed that he had been right about each of them. Though Quentin had been talking, he had noticed the corpse coming and warned the others. He had even seemed willing to kill, although he'd been slower than the little girl. Quentin and Carter were just scared, that was all. Everyone was scared but they would have to learn. Sean would teach them. All they needed to do first was get to a safe place. The trees had gotten more sparse as the road neared, and the older man was able to see more clearly.

To Quentin, the place was lit up brightly. Everything was visible. The wrecked semi truck on the side of the highway had a dark cab, though the color wasn't easy to make out. It could have been blue. What he could make out were the pinpricks all along the side of the trailer. Those are f*****g bullet holes! He thought with alarm. He looked to Sean, who was already crouched in the tall grass. "Are those..." he started, as he crouched down too. Sean silenced him with a finger to his thin and chapped lips. He motioned for the others to get down as well.

Carter does as she was told, quickly getting on the ground "Bullet holes?" she barely said, the words barely hearable. Indeed they were. Bullet holes were in the sideof the trailer. "What the hell...." Carter said a bit louder before calming down. 'Don't cause more of them to come.' Carter thought, crawling over to some tall grass that lingered on the side of te road.

Quentin took in a deep breath, hearing Carter. It was so cold, and there was moisture in the tall grass, but they lay low for a while in total silence. Sean was watching the road, but he saw no one. Nothing. Until, a flash. Off in the distance. He glanced up and saw where it had come from. The Safeway, barely a quarter of a mile down the road. And a light had just come on inside.

Bellamy looked at the sudden flash of light with excitement in her eyes, as if it was a shooting star and she had to hurry and make a wish. She skipped to Sean's side with her knife still in hand "Is it a car?" she asked him "Can we steal it?"

Sean shook his head, squinting in the dark. He can see the light, but it's far away. It looks like it's coming from inside the Safeway, but he can't be sure exactly. "I don't think so...", he whispered to her with a frown. Turning to the other two he asks, "What do you see?"

"Looks like it's a light from the store...like...inside the....pharmacy? I think.", Quentin says. All of the windows and doors except for the drive thru slide window in the pharmacy are boarded up. This small light from winthin is all that is visible. Just then it winks out again. Quentin gasps and points, "Look...it's off now. There is totally someone in there.", nervously, he looks to the rest of the group, "Or do you think one of those things could do that by accident or something?"

(Woah, lots has happened. Sorry guys.)

(And C, controlling other players is against the rules, like you controlled Quentin in your last post. Let's just say Jason was held up and badly wounded by some bandits on the way back to camp, and he's passed out. Go find em!)

Carter had seen it too.
