      River is wholly commited to being themselves. Not particularly a fan of any kind of label, they exist in a realm that is simply... them. And that means that when interacting with them, you are fully experiencing them in their whole authentic self. They are a fully actualized creature, who does things that they think will bring them joy and nothing else. They are authentic to themselves to a fault.

      Nonjudgemental
      The type of creature that is spawned from such individualism obviously has a distinct sense of nonjudgement for those around them. They've seen a lot of crazy shit over their endlessly long experience on earth, and they've come to realize that as long as someone isn't causing others harm, there's really no point in judging their likes and dislikes. Life is fleeting, and if someone finds joy in something odd but harmless, what point is there in judging them for it?

      Wise
      Of course, River sees all. River hears all. River has lived for centuries and has come out the other side with a wise and generally braod sense of knowledge. They are mature beyond how they appear, and genuinely try to give good advice to those that approach them for it. They are an oracle, in a sense.

      Honest
      With the idea that River pursues authenticity, it comes to no surprise that River is the type of creature to tell someone straight to their face that they do not like someone. This honesty is quite liberating towards those that

      Kind
      Despite their nature for being nosy and interested in gossip and drama, River is surprisingly kind when dealing with those that come to her with humbleness that genuinely want his help. He's always gentle and kind and wants the best for those that can get over their pride and genuinely strive to improve on their weaknesses.

      Negative traits

      Confusing
      River is... strange. They have a lot of strange habits and a lot of strange rituals. They follow star charts, and they do a lot of divination methods that have been proven to not work but they insist upon working even though they're actually prophetic. And they speak in strange riddles sometimes and often act in a drunken disorderly manner.

      Dramatic
      There's a flair for dramatics that comes with River's entire personality and vibes that comes from a distinct taste of camp. While they are not particularly dramatic, it is easy to mistake them as one who thrives off of drama. And they do. It's just they usually live vicariously through mortal drama and try to remain above it all.

      Eccentric
      Extremely individualistic, River has a flair for being... strange, as one would be as a centuries old vampire. Even worse, they have a strange way of speaking through metaphor and allusion to old literature in order to speak about the future. They slip in and out of this prophecy speak, and it's quite difficult to understand which is their uncontrollable power, and which is them screwing around.

      Stubborn
      River is particularly averse to changing their mind when she is greeted with people who try to fight against her. He finds it rather distasteful and annoying and ultimately a hindrance, there really is very little changing their mind when it comes down to it.

      Vengeful
      River is old, and the strange thing about being a vampire is that when someone wrongs you, you have an eternity of waiting that you can do in order to claim your revenge. Often, enemies of River will find themselves huddling in, waiting paranoid for days or weeks or months or years for the old vampire to strike. vengeance is not swift, but a slow, creeping decay that comes in through paranoia and fear. Do not anger River, as it is almost assured that she will get the last laugh.

      Ambitions

      River genuinely wants the people around them to be their true authentic selves, without fear of societal pressures. They also want to help people continue their struggle to self-actualization

      River likes old literature and old wine, he enjoys luxuries, but not the types of fast pace modern cars, instead they prefer glitz and glamor. River is centuries old, with a refined palate and taste in all things. He likes poetry and makeup and fashion. She likes old blades and blood.

      Dislikes

      River despises inauthenticity, and it's quite annoying to a person who can divine your entire future and past and present to have someone try to lie to you. There's also a general hatred towards those that try to impose their beliefs onto others, and a general exasperation towards those that don't listen to their advice because she can definitely see what will happen when you don't take his advice, thank you.

      Powers

      River sees all - past, present, and future in sudden bursts. They also do not age, and can only be killed via stake to the heart. They have fangs on their teeth, and drink blood to maintain their vitality. Blood will also speed up an already accelerated healing process.

      Strengths

      River is functionally immortal. And they are quite adept at dodging attacks. They also can see the future, past, and present. They just kind of... know things about people which is... concerning to say the least. They have a form of super strength, though this manifests as above average stamina and endurance, and they heal from injuries fairly quickly, making them very difficult to kill when all things are said and done.

      Weaknesses

      River, to be completely honest, usually does not care about conflict. In fact, they would much rather sit back and watch with some popcorn. That being said, their sight comes in waves, usually in very inopportune times which gives them the appearance of suddenly spacing out, talking to nothing, or reacting to nothing. Whenever they try to speak of this knowledge, they must speak exclusively in metaphors and riddles, leading to any practical application of this knowledge being almost zero to none. They must drink blood in order to maintain their youth, though it should be noted that not drinking blood will simply just force them into a coma-like trance until someone pours blood back into their mouth.

Appearance:
in his ghostly appearance, he is a light blue translucent mist capable of changing shape and form.

Puppet body: He has an elf-like puppet body that looks perfectly how he did before his untimely demise. Every detail from his high cheek bones to his pointed ears down to his sharp chin. Smooth, polished and painted. One might not notice it was a puppet body unless one took close look inspection. Through the usage of the arcane his puppet body can move around with ease, change facial expression, store food and beverage, and perform many tasks a normal person could. Though being a ghost he lacks the need to eat as well as the taste buds to enjoy food.

He has long pale blonde hair with skin as white as snow. Bright dark yellow eyes with black sclera. He's 4'9 and fairly thin, such as an elf.

Daily outfit: He wears various silk floral dress shirts, sleeves rolled up to his elbows, and a matching vest to go with it. A red handkerchief with the letter 'E' sits in his vest pocket. He has various dress pants and shoes of different colors depending on what shirt/vest he's wearing. Silk green socks with all of his outfits. A gold watch with a silver snake wrapping itself multiple times around the watch. Ruby gems serve as eyes to the snake. He sometimes wears cheap sunglasses so he can look like he's paying attention to someone without actually doing it.

Masquerade ball outfit: He wears a gray suit. His coat is a thick patchy jacket with layers of different lengths and shades of gray. Deep red marks can be seen glowing on the coat. The coat appears to be completely burned up with a very ashy texture. Yet also somewhat good condition for something so charred and burned. Almost as if done so intentionally. His pants look similar to his coat with an ashy appearance. His dress shirt is somewhat lighter compared to his coat and pants. A tie tucked into his coat, a sickly green color that somehow smells of mint and lavender. he has pointed toed dress shoes that match his outfit as well as blackened socks and an ebony ring with a clear gemstone. Inside the is a red letter 'L' for Leormeathonan. Meren has his hair neatly combed back when he wears this outfit.

His masquerade mask is blood red with no facial features excluding a very wide grin with black lips and gold bronze trim along the outside edges of the mask

Raven puppet- He has a puppet body that looks exactly like a raven. Has a voice box to allow him to caw like an owl, but also capable of using his own voice to which he uses to freak people out as a talking bird.

Personality: Meren has a rather dark dreary outlook on life. He's pretty friendly and outgoing. He can also be cold and careless as well. He rarely thinks about how his words effect others, thus he can be somewhat blunt and casually pokes fun at death and believes it to be better than living. He also enjoys going with the flow. Not much gets to him personally. For the most part, he likes people and enjoys helping others, but somewhere deep inside, he has a bit of a sadistic streak and enjoys watching people suffer or even die. Especially die, and then makes humor of it. Though he prefers making friends with people far more than he does harm. Which is why he lives in an old abandoned house where more malicious ghosts can be found.

Likes: alchemy, being lazy/slacking off, death related puns/jokes/references, mischief(Mostly harmless variety) and elven magic
Dislikes: Goody two shoes, people touching his stuff, children, anything in cages, people that are obsessed with their health/or afraid of death/tell you what's bad for your health and cats(Meren calls cats giant rats and complains about how ungrateful or high and mighty they act)
Hobbies: creating various alchemical potions/poisons and more. He also enjoys watching videos on the internet as well as play a violin, albeit the only songs he plays are sad and dreary or unsettling and spine chilling music.

As a bartender he makes all sorts of drinks, but there are five drinks he invented and loves to make the most.

- Phantasm(alcoholic): a dark red ichor with a spicy taste that gives a strong burning sensation throughout the body. Very strong drink not for the feint of heart.

- The Banshee's kiss(alcoholic): A glowing pink beverage with a pleasant smell with bitter taste similar to dark chocolate. When consumed, the bright pink liquid becomes a black gaseous form with a foul rancid smell. Has a surprisingly pleasant aftertaste that leaves the person feeling uncontrollably happy. Not uncommon for someone to randomly burst into laughter.

- Icey Apparition(alcoholic): a orange frozen beverage that instantly melts in the mouth and has a fruity taste. A very sweet drink that becomes sour then sweet. Gives the person a temporary cold frosty breath as if they were standing outside in the winter cold.

- Grave Mystery(non-alcoholic): a dull gray scent scentless drink with an unusual but somehow 'familiar' taste which causes various random effects which differ from drink to drink and person to person. One may relive childhood memories, hear voices that aren't real, see things that aren't there, experience a feeling of emptiness or contempt or something completely different.

- Arcanist's serendipity(non-alcoholic): this particular drink is Meren's favorite drink. In making this drink, he infuses a small amount of his own magic into the glass. Harmless in small doses. It is a color/flavor changing drink that does not follow the law of gravity. If left alone, the drink may float away from it's glass. When drank, the person experiences confusion, but also clarity. Excitement and disappointment and also a tingly feeling.

Background: Like all elves, Meren was born with an innate ability to use magic, but was also born with a rare magical birth defect, which was partially to blame for his mother's death. The magic that surged through his veins ravaged his body and drained the vitality of nearby living creatures. When there were no creatures nearby to drain life energy from, his body was slowly devouring itself on the inside.

His father was a very powerful mage and very desperate to save his only child. He used all sorts of healing magic and alchemical techniques which were all temporary fixes. Eventually his father would delve into necromantic rituals. Meren was 19 when his father would attempt to use a powerful necromantic ritual to try bind his son's soul to a vessel body, but the ritual would suffer complications before Meren's soul could be placed into the new vessel. Meren's ghostly form was trapped in the mortal world.

In his new ghostly form, his magic became unhinged and what little control he had over it was gone as he now wildly drained from everything nearby. His father nearly lost his life that day, and trapped Meren in the ritual room for nearly a year. His father used most of his wealth and power searching far and wide for a solution to his son's current situation. His father would pay a dwarf called 'The arcanist'. The dwarf offered a solution. He would create a body for his son, but it would cost him a fortune. It would take the dwarf two months to make the puppet elf out of a strange type of wood that grows underground and shares several properties found in stone. As a joke, the dwarf spent an additional three weeks making a raven body. Meren's father did not appreciate the joke, but over time, eventually Meren would.

Meren struggled with his puppet body, but by this time he had near control over his scourge magic. He still drained energy from those nearby, but it was barely noticeable. Now that he's 22, he can freely roam the outside world with full control over himself. Though he still struggles with behaving normal and coping with his undead life.

Powers:
scourged magic- because of his magic, he can drain energy from those around him, though for the most part he chooses not to.

Possession- since he is a ghost, he can possess objects or even living creatures, but controlling living creatures is very difficult and he has little experience doing so. Sentient creatures like humans are very difficult, let alone supernatural ones. Though a willing vessel makes it somewhat easier. Through possession of living hosts, he can temporarily regain some of his senses; taste, smell and touch.

Strengths: His scourge magic can spread in all directions within a 10 ft. radius but can be focused on one person up to 20 ft away. His scourge magic drains more vitality from the victim over time.

Possessions - possessing objects takes very little energy but living creatures have willpower and are harder to control. Once he takes full control over something or someone, it is extremely difficult to get rid of him through sheer willpower alone. When leaving the host body he leaves behind a lingering feeling dread and hopelessness as well as lethargy. It becomes easier to possess someone the weaker and less energy they possess for they have a harder time fighting back.

Weaknesses: His draining magic starts off weak and takes time to draw larger amounts of vitality from people.

It's extremely difficult to possess sentient beings as they are self aware and can focus on trying to keep him from possession.

When a possessed individual comes into contact with a blessed item, it will force the ghost out of the host body.

In ghost form, Meren cannot interact with salt, thus if any is thrown at him, it forces him to disperse and go elsewhere

Extra: His nickname used to be Merel cause Erunmilrmerel but I changed it to Meren cause in another RP involving this same character, I kept calling him Meren so I decided to make that his official nickname here.

Appearance:
Standing around 5"8", Mathew has a slender and bony build. His attire is anything that is dark, black and red. Often he wears calf high black boots, a long dark trench coat and a red t-shirt. He is however not unknown to switch it up, but he never wears light clothing.

Personality:
Mathew is known in the Demon World as being a big a fierce and feared Demon, however in the Human world, that doesn't really have the same effect on people. He looks down on humanity and humans, despite them seeing him as no more special than them. His serious tone and unfamiliar insults make him appear more of a comedy act than someone to worry about.
His struggled to fit into human life is seen every single day in his non-stop failed attempts to find some type of roots to his old self. One of the ways in which he attempts to reconnect to himself is through the use of Lego and his slight obsession with it as it draws him closer to his missing powers. He is determined to keep up his appearances as the Demon Malphas but everyday it slips further away.

Background:
Mathew Solomon was the name reluctantly thrown upon him by the humans when he was cursed out into the human realm and into a human body.

Known as Malphas by the demons, he was considered one of the Great Presidents of Hell with an army of 40 legions until he made a mistake.
Known for being easy to anger and quick to act without thinking; in a fit of rage at a fellow solider, Malphas blew the head off an important statue.
It was an accident that he very much will not forget very soon. Satan himself was less than amused at Malphas's destruction and fixing it did not seem enough.
As punishment for his actions, Malphas was ordered to Earth to live as a human for 500 years.

Being banished to Earth, Malphas was very much out of his element. His powers almost non-existent and his new human form being something less than satisfying to him; Malphas was forced to suddenly learn how to live as a new species in a new world, but letting go of what he knew wasn't going to be easy for him.



Powers: Build and Destroy Buildings. His powers are weak and almost non-existent anymore.

【personality】— whispers follow her wherever she travels, tickling her ears and beckoning her to listen. she pays them no mind, letting them glide off of her life water or silk. a phantom to some, a mere glimpse of a flowing dress as it turns a corner or leaves a room. idumea is a young woman wrapped in mystery. one will find that getting answers from such a woman would prove to be difficult. her words can be confusing to some, for she can speak in sayings and ramblings that make little sense to the common man. with a head that seems to be permanently floating amongst the cloud, it’s best to not take her seriously. a sense of ethereality seeps from her, carrying herself with a gracefulness that is not quite human. idumea is a woman who knows herself and does not desire to let others in on the knowledge. instead she floats through life, alone but never lonely.

gentle creatures are often targets for those who believe themselves stronger. the world views kindness as weakness and emotions as something to suppress. idumea has had her runs in with those types, both human and other. they soon find out that she is not timid in the slightest. they mistake her love for peace as fear of conflict. there is a darkness in her that she inherited and wielded when the time was right. she holds grudges and demands justice for all slights against her.

within her is a power that hides just below the surface of her warm smiles and bright eyes. the power to wield it comes to her naturally, for she has had years to learn to become one with it. idumea is subtle about what she can do, modest about the power she wields from both sides of her heritage. she holds a deep love for what she is, for the sense of culture that she was able to grow up in. that love acts as fuel for her magic, nurturing it and watching it thrive like a child. there is knowledge hidden behind her ramblings and within the fairytales that she favors. she honed her craft with all the confidence of a seasoned practitioner.

【botanokinesis】— • as the daughter of a fae and hedge witch, idumea can create and manipulate plants. under her presence they can grow in abundance or wilt. the land close to her is even influenced by her to the point where she can make it barren of plant life.

• idumea can communicate with plants through touch or telepathy. though they don’t talk with voices, they can send emotions to idumea to let her know how they feel. plants see all and thus, they can act as idumea’s eyes within the areas they’re in. images can be shown to her, events that have happened in an area. when she’s around plants they sometimes reach out for her.

【drawback】— her influence over plants is only as strong as the plant life around her. in other words, she cannot make something out of nothing. idumea needs to draw power from somewhere, even if it is as tiny as a seed. it’s why she tends to keep seeds on her. in a place void of plant life it take energy to conjure up something from nothing.

【mediumship】— the “hedge” refers to the boundary between the living and the dead, or the physical and the spiritual. hedge witches are able to communicate and perceive those no longer living and the spirits not typically seen by the human eye. idumea can ask these spirits for help or allow them to possess her for a short time. with this ability she can enter the land of the dead.


【drawbacks】— just because idumea is able to communicate with spirits does not mean that they are willing to communicate with her. there are spirits who were seek to do harm, to secure a place in the world of the living by any means necessary. it’s always a risk, messing with the dead. idumea treads carefully and respectfully less she end up possessed by the wrong entity or unleashing something terrible.

【witchcraft/fae magic】— idumea has a unique magic, a blend of hedge witch abilities and fae magic. Her heritage allows her to wield both of these types with ease. illusions are a specialty of hers and well as transmutation due to her fae blood.

【drawbacks】— fae magic can be a fickle thing, acting in ways that she does not intend it too. emotions are a powerful thing and so idumea must be careful. though she prefers peace, her magic can lash out in a way that caused harm. though it does come easy to her magic is like a muscle, she must train it in order to get better.

❝ HISTORY. ❞
【 background 】— idumea remembers the first time that she realized that she looked different from her siblings, from the being she called father. her siblings were many and their appearances were just as vast. they shared the same eyes as their creator, a sparkling green that held all the similarities of a lush forest. her own eyes were black, the color of gemstones. the eyes of her mother. she looked so much like her mother, but her eyes were glistened like that of a doll’s. they were beautiful but unsettling. idumea will be forever ashamed to admit how something had not been right with her mother.

but she had only been a child, still wet behind the ears and basking in the affection that her father showed her. dressed pretty and spoiled rotten, how could she know that she was more possession than a living, breathing individual? she was distracted by the sparkle and shine of her gilded cage.

she was too busy distracting herself from siblings who taunted and pulled hair where flowers should have been, pinching skin that bruised too easy. at the time it seemed like only playing, her legs struggling to catch up as they ran from her, leaving her behind for the creatures of the forest to find. it was from them that she learned to connect with the world around her or let it consume her.

during moments of clarity, when her mother gazed at her with eyes shiny with unshed tears, she would tell idumea a story. in the story she spoke of a naive witch who had foolishly made a deal with a being who lurked within a large forest. the poor witch had been tricked and would forever be doomed to spend her days by the being’s side. by the time the story was finished her mother’s cheeks were wet with tears.

soon she heard stories of the fae, from behind trees where humans would often light fires and tell stories. she learned of how they snatched human children, how they took people for their own with no remorse. the product of their abductions, kept as little more than shiny possessions and bodies to create more appealing offspring. she was horrified but she was also angry, a fire burned within her that threatened to engulf her entirely.

it was during her mother’s moments of clarity that she began to teach idumea of her heritage. her father believed her mother to be completely under his spell, he let his guard down and it was his undoing. a rowan wand was used to break the spell that has been casted on her mother and it was she who struck him through the chest with an iron blade. the two of them fled quickly and there was peace for a time.

life changed again when they were attacked. a battle between the two witches and a family seeking revenge broke out. idumea would never be bothered by her siblings again but at the cost of her mother.

Personality: Selena (despite being unable to bask in it) is a ray of sunshine. She is the embodiment of the "Live, Laugh, Love" signs middle aged women hang in their kitchens. Selena is fun and bubbly, yet also naive and gullible. She sees the best in others, even if they don't deserve it.

Likes: Lolita fashion, the color pink, chocolate, K-Drama's, anything small and fluffy, maximalist design

Dislikes: The color black, harming others, bullies, deep water, elitism, Italian food

Hobbies: Selena is a hobbyist Lolita fashion influencer. She runs several social media pages where she shows off her original hand-sewn outfits, and make-up tutorials. What, you thought vampires couldn't be caught on camera? This is the 21st century! Smart phone camera's don't need silver to function, thus Selena is able to capture her likeness digitally for the world to see.

The Erwood family is your typical vampire family. Long lineage that dates back to the beginning of time? Check. Lives in a secluded house that locals think is haunted? Check. Lives life as if humanity never left the dour Victorian period? Check.

Selena hates it.

Selena has always loved the sunshine and bright colors, laughing over brooding, and finding more "humane" alternatives to drinking mortal blood. She describes herself as the "pink sheep" of the Erwood family. So, upon reaching maturity, Selena moved out on her own so that she could pursue a career in fashion that brought joy to others faces. She still has a lot to learn about the world, as the internet can only teach so much, but Selena is excited and happy to be living life under her own rules now.

Strengths:


Strength- Selena is much stronger than the average mortal. If she isn't careful she could rip the door off its hinges if she finds herself in the wrong mood.

Speed- Vampires have supernatural speed for hunting prey. Selena is no exception. Although, she finds it kind of hard to run at top speeds in 5-inch heels...

Immortality- Although Selena can be killed by outside forces, like pointy objects to the chest, so long as she avoids them her life will continue on indefinitely. Selena is only 135, which is very young by vampire standards.

Weaknesses:

Silver- Silver burns when it touches Selena's skin. Which is such a shame, as so much cute jewelry uses the metal!

Sunlight- The sunlight burns Selena's skin, and if she is exposed for too long it will kill her. If she wants to move about outside during the day, she has to travel under some form of shade. Usually a parasol.

Too Kind- Selena is too nice for her own good. She refuses to drink the blood of humans, although it sustains her. She does her best to find alternatives, such as animals (but only ones who where about to die of natural causes), or coconut water. But, they dont fuel her as much as mortal blood does. Thus, Selena is far weaker than other vampires.

Personality: Yuyu is trying to learn to be human. In mythology, encountering a nine-tailed fox could be a blessing or a curse, a good or a bad omen. Yu wishes to be a good omen and, though she worries it may be wrong, is willing to meddle in fate to achieve this. Yu is meant to be mysterious, beautiful, and elusive, however, she no longer enjoys living the life of a loner. She wants to make friends, find lovers and feel normal. She likes to believe she is adventurous, though can be quite apprehensive about the modern world. She has, however, fallen in love with modern fast food.

One might describe Fay as catlike, with her demure-seeming-yet-mischievous nature. In most cases, Fay is easy-going enough, but she won't take any perceived insult lying down. Fay is quite passionate, can be quite brash, and has trouble reigning in her bubbly personality. Despite what one might expect from a faerie, Faylen is not exactly the most subtle sort, and can be surprisingly open about her own feelings and situations. Though she is fairly clever, she is also apt to dive in to a situation without fully thinking it through. She can over-focus on a cause to her own detriment, can be awkward around heavy emotions, and has trouble setting roots

backstory
Fay's childhood was simple, sweet, and blissful. She was loosely raised by as much a community of fey as one might find outside the courts. Where she had come from was just as much a mystery as it was for all other fey children- someone had simply found her one day, as an infant, and took her home to feed her, mind her, and help her not die. As Fay and the other children around her matured, and it was determined more specifically what sort each one was, Fay's elders were rather stumped on what to do with her. It had been some time since they'd had to teach a muse how to manage the human's world; the rest of them, and the sorts that they've raised for decades, had been able to thrive without leaving their own world for long, if at all. When she grew past the point of needing her kin's help anymore, Fay set off to the human world. She spent a couple of years tracking down artists in hopes of creating a mutually beneficial relationship, and finally found one that lasted for about three years. They recently broke up, her musician high on his success, and Fay thought that she'd give creating, instead of just inspiring, a shot herself.

Fay has wings and can use them to fly. Physical fatigue will negatively impact her height and speed. Strong wind currents at high altitudes will also impede her. She cannot fly far, or for long, but can get out of a tricky situation if need be.
