Fantasy Volume 1: Elemental Drift

Eimyn frowned at this. Free someone? threw a test of their abilities? That did not seem easy, not did it seem even remotely possible, given that they had no idea what they could do. But one thing stuck with him, and forced him to answer without thinking it through. "I'm not afraid" He said at once, his voice hard and fiery, his eyes alight and determined. "Confused, Yes. But not afraid" he looked over at the others, knowing that might not be the case for them. Then he'd just have to be strong enough to ease their doubts and fear.

He fell silent, his expression passive, as he thought on what they were tasked with. He sighed heavily, "it doesn't matter if its your fault or not that she is trapped, it happened. And now we have to deal with it. You have to at least tell us, or give us some idea, of what we can do, other then just stating our element, and giving us gifts"

Without meaning to, part of the food Rayne was eating fell from her mouth in surprise. She couldn't believe what her hosts were telling her! They would have to be the ones to go and rescue Falicity? Oh yeah, like that was going to work at all. "I know Eimyn here things we need to "deal with" this problem, but I don't think we're going to be able to deal with it until we actually know how. It's like all of you are giving us a test without having given us the materials to study first. We know nothing of our powers and some of us don't even know how we're going to use the gifts we've been given."

Rayne thought about the fan she had been given for a moment, thinking about how she could use it. Even if she tried to figure it out on her own, she doubted she could discover its secrets. How was she supposed to trigger a power she didn't even know existed just a couple days ago? She was starting to wonder if this group really knew what they were doing, or if they were just treating their gathering of these children as some kind of game or even joke. Either way, at least she was getting away from her parents for a while. She was getting something good out of this either way.
