Asher McMichael

The headbutt made Asher flinch. Jesus, that was hard. He still wasn't sure of what was going on. From the looks of things, the man with the gun was probably attacking the couple, but changed his mind as the infected showed up. "Idiot..." Asher murmured to himself, almost in disgust of how someone can let their guard down nowadays. From a distance, it did seem like the army guy and the girl looked like they were together, with the way they were embracing each other. However, this embracing would soon need stop as the man who got hit with a nasty headbutt was now furious and was definitely ready for a fight.

Asher was so distracted with the action in front of his eyes, that he didn't notice how many zombies this commotion was bringing in their direction. In no time, he too was surrounded by infected who slowly appeared from every place imaginable. He looked around and his eyes widened at the sight of so many infected, almost screaming in horror, but containing himself. Luckily, he was hidden from the foul flesh eating beasts and they hadn't spotted him yet, but Asher was indeed pinned down to his spot. Taking in a deep breath, Asher decided not to move a muscle, and hoped for the fight between the two men to draw these monsters towards them so he could escape without drawing any attention.

"NO!" Her chill cry yelped, she had seen it coming, the angry man. She had quickly crawled over soldiers shoulder, and in front of him, while she was short, she had her front faced to the man with a bloody nose. Instead of the might blow hitting her savior, it gave her a mighty blow to her cheek. She stumbled, clearly dazed. She felt the pain throbbing in her face, and as the man had hit her ready injured face. She felt the swelling, and blood flooding her mouth. She whimpered, she hadn't expected to be hit.

She gripped her face with both of her hands, her eyes watery again, and clearly full of agony, yet dark with fury. Blood tickled from her mouth, and she pressed her back against Glaz's chest.

She noticed the zombies. Yet she was stood too flustered with anger to care. "Get out of here, you jackass!" She snaps at David, shoving him with both hands, while it didn't do much, it took courage. She was unsteady, scared, and angry, making her tremble.

Glaz soon saw the girl rise up suddenly, only to be struck by the man, whom he had headbutted. "Вы чертовски ублюдок!" He spat before charging the man from waist and tackling him. He then began laid his forearm around the man's neck while his freehand reached for his sidearm and placed it against his crotch, " Лежать или первая пуля будет в ваших чертовых шаров!" He threatened though he came to his senses and realized the man probably did not speak Russian, "Don't fucking move!" He said, as he tensed his forearm on the man's throat. Not trying to choke him, but enough to ensure he was in control.

Katja had been moving through the woods, and moved stealthily past trees and rocks, using them as cover. She had over the years discovered the bad hearing of the infected, and when she didn’t need to she would rather not start a fight with them. Luckily they all seemed to still be going after the sound of the gun-shot, so they had something else to be fixed upon. Soon she came to a place with an especially big assembly though, and swiftly pulled back to hide her back against a tree. If she could just wait for them to pass by…

Then she noticed someone though, hidden from the infected’s view. They were close to him though. She figured he had been the one firing the shot earlier. She picked up a rock from the ground and held it in her hand, weighting it for a moment. She noticed a small stream run through in throwing distance if she made a long shot. She threw the rock toward the water in an arch. It landed with a splash, and the infected seemed to perk up their heads with a groan and move toward the sound, and further from where the man was hiding.

Sky watched as a stone hits the river and the zombies turn toward the quick water way to investigate. She grabs a hold on Glaz's jacket, tugging on the larger man violently. "We need to go!" She hisses quietly, urgency in her trembling voice. "Please, let him go. If he can't keep up, he can get eaten!" She places her hand on the back of his neck gently, her soft hands were warm, soothing. "Please. There is a huge horde. We have to hide." She soft gently, despite the swelling of her cheek, and the blood she had to keep swallowing down to prevent it from dripping out of her mouth. Her tongue stung terribly. She had bitten off a good chunk of flesh, and the inside of her cheek was raw and ravaged. "Please." She begged. She wasn't going to run without him.

David snapped back to his senses immediately; his face twisted in self-disgust as he looked down at the bloodied face of the child he - he - had struck. Moving immediately to help her, he began to apologize. "I - I didn - I'm so so- " then he let out a loud grunt, as the soldier brutally charged into his front, tackling him to the ground with surprising force. It was too late for apologies now, it didn't help that he felt like utter-shit from having hit the girl, but the man currently choking him was ultimately responsible for this whole chain of events; at least in David's mind.

Time was running out; the moans of Biter's began to increase, the gunshot he fired having drawn hundreds from all over the city. "Listen...To her....Man!" He managed to wheeze out, yet with no response he began to lose faith, in mere moments they'd be overrun. David needed to act, now. With no thought of the potential disaster such a decision could be, he rapidly pushed his arm down; just fast enough so that the soldier would pull the trigger just below his crotch, between his legs.

He then followed up by using his considerable strength to deliver his forearm directly into the soldiers face, he didn't intend to fight. Just to escape both the horde, and the man.

Regaining his footing immediately after having hopefully stunning the shorter, more technical combatant. He offered his hand, "We need to go, right now!" He hated groups; that was no lie. But he was currently indebted to the teenager due to his rash actions from before.

The sound of the splash in the water made Asher almost jump to his feet. He quickly turned his head over his shoulder to spot a young brunette girl, who had just thrown the rock. Some infected scrambled towards the small stream of water after the rock was thrown, while most of the infected were drawn away by the sound of the fighting and screaming between the two men. The area around Asher was clearer and he could finally escape.

However, now there was this young woman in his way and he couldn't just run away. He wasn't sure if the female was armed or not, so he tried to approach the situation with caution. She was kind enough to draw the zombies away, so maybe she wasn't a bad person. Slowly, without making any noise, Asher got up from his position and put both his arms in the air, signalling he was friendly. With the most friendly smile possible, he cautiously approached the young woman, not speaking so the infected wouldn't get attracted by the sound of his voice.

Skyla winced slightly when the man got to his feet, she grabbed Glaz's shoulders in a small attempt to prevent him from charging the man again. "Please. Please. We need to leave. It's either we both leave, or we both stay. I'm not leaving without you!" She knew if she stayed, she'd be in grave danger. She clung to him tightly, her body pressed against his back. "You can kick his ass when we are safe." Her tongue was swollen, making her speech slightly slurred, yet that was the last of her worries. @Blarg222 @Archon @Hiddencard @CentEX

Her plan had worked, but more infected were heading in the direction of a scene close by that was making a large amount of noise. It wasn’t before now that Katja became aware of the people by the cave, who were fighting amongst themselves it seemed. She could only assume they were fighting over supplies. She didn’t inspect enough to make out the faces of the people in the clearing though, because the man she had helped was approaching her.

She came the man a small nod to show that ‘he was welcome’. He didn’t seem armed, and his smile was somewhat reassuring, so when he joined him she simply whispered. “Are those your people?”, and turned her gaze back toward the group ahead.

Then she finally got a good look at the group and recognized the girl, and her eyes widened in shock. “Skyla…” she whispered under her breath. Not believing her eyes for a moment. The girl looked like a mess, and her face was hurt, but that was definitely her.

Glaz huffed as he was shoved back and as the man pulled away he raised his gun to him, though he finally snapped out of rage and realized the mortal danger. He ignored the hand and turned to Sky, "Run! Don't stop until you are far away!" Glaz ordered her, "I will stay here and hold them here!" Glaz pulled out his rifle and took aim, waiting for them to run.

Sky widens her eyes, her heart becoming heavy. She hoped that David wouldn't make her run, she didn't want to. He's have to pick her up for her to go. "I can't leave without you!" She cries, her eyes become teary. This was show she lost her last sister, Katja. She couldn't handle being alone again. @Hiddencard @Blarg222 @Archon

For a moment; David feared the soldier was going to pullthe trigger, then and there. End the suffering of a living nightmare he'd endured for far too long, the man almost hoped for it, the release of death... It never came. And soon, he was snapped back to the situation - and how to survive it -Whilst David was never a man of generosity, or charity, he looked at the soldier as if he'd grown two heads, and felt strange it what he was about to do. "Are you insane?! Look, I don't know you. You don't know me. We got off on a BAD start. But you will DIE if you stay here!" The man rushed out the words, normally he wouldn't have cared; but he was still indebted to the teenager from before, if the soldier dies, she wouldn't last the night.

"Look, she needs you! We can outrun them!" The thought was frightening; David couldn't run, not for long. And the soldier would have to carry the girl, the situation was looking more than grim. It seemed as if fate had finally caught up with him. But it looked like they'd have no choice. "Okay, look. You meet us at th Gas Station outside of the town! Three miles East of here. Got it?!" David yelled, charisma and command in his voice. He only hoped the Russian understood more than a few words of English.

Here goes nothing... Thought the man, as he scooped the teenager into his arms, before setting off into a jogging pace away from the horde. His knee throbbed, the pain kicked in. But surely he had enough adrenaline to keep him going for a few more minutes... So he could at least stop without immediate danger of lurking Biters. "He'll be fine! But you can't walk, and we need to go!" He barked to the girl, in an attempt at reassurance.

Asher approached the young lady and the nod pretty much indicated he could lower his arms, and he did so. He was glad he found someone (who looked) friendly. As he lowered his arms, behind him the commotion kept drawing in more infected monsters. Asher didn't really care anymore, and quickly turned his attention to the girl now that the area around them was clear. “Are those your people?” The girl asked. "They are not." Asher quickly replied to the girl. "Not sure who they are..." Asher said, with a confused tone in his voice. As he said this, he noticed how the girl who had just saved him changed the look on her face. She had recognized someone in the clearing. “Skyla…” the female whispered.

"You know her?" Asher questioned her. As the group in the clearing had now somehow bonded over an agreement to escape and were trying to run from the hungry horde approaching them.

She squeals softly as she is scooped up by the man who had punched her, before he begins to run for safety.she refrains from hitting him, or biting him. She knew he wanted to help, so she didnt fight him. After losing her family, the pain of loss was dulled, yet still hurt her. She watches as the image of Glaz gets smaller and smaller. She feels tears form in her eyes, and slide down her flushed cheeks. She swallows her sobs, pressing her face into the bend of the mans neck and shoulder. She knew she shouldn't run with her injured leg, before her injury she was a great runner, star hurdler in highschool. She cries quietly into the man's shirt, her shoulders trembling rhythmically.

So it seemed the man wasn’t an ally of the small group. Katja nodded her head once. “Yes, I know her,” she confirmed to the man, no longer any doubt in her mind. Her eyes now clued on the scene. “She’s my sister.” It would be absolutely foolish to try to cross the horde of zombies, even if she had been fighting for many years already. Yet her eyes stayed locked on what was unfolding. It seemed one man was urging her sister to run, and another was staying behind to give them some time. Good plan, she could follow them around the horde. Yet… her sister wasn’t running. “Run Sky… run..” she mumbled through clenched teeth.

Then the man finally did her the biggest favor, and picked her sister up. She let out a sigh of relief. She glanced down at the man that her sister hadn’t wanted to leave. Could he take all those zombies by himself? Maybe if he just got an escape route though. She had to make a decision. She turned her head to the man beside her. “Can you fight or shoot?” she asked him, completely serious. Maybe it was worth helping the man, she could only go from her gut-feeling.

Glaz tensed as he heard Sky's screams, a wave of guilt washing over him. He couldn't help but feel a redemption in it, if he was going to die, it would be to save another. A tear slipped out of the man's years of combat, from the eyes mirrored with death. However he kept his head, however slighty and as they ran he began to fire into the horde, slowly chipping away at their numbers. As a few grew close he drew his pistol, round after round he fired, and eventually their came a click. With out ammo he used the rifle as a club and began to bash the approaching zombies, when that broke his Makarov began his brass knuckle, when that broke he drew his pocket knife, and when that dulled his enemy stood at only twelve out of the 30 who had attacked. He soon dropped to his knees, his body drained of strength as he awaited death.

How did it come to this. Running through the woods with a whimpering girl in his arms, although he could hardly blame her, she'd likely lost everything. Whilst having gone through more pain in the last few days than all her life combined. What he was doing, was selfless. And foolish. She'd be the potential death of him; and he knew it. Alas, he was stuck with her as his responsibility for now. He'd offered no comforting words as she wept into his clothing, non came to mind. Truthfully, he knew non would change a thing. Likely the girl wouldn't even be listening. One more step... Just, one more step. The thought played on loop; he made no attempt at trying to concentrate on anything but running. He felt his throat burn with scorching pin. Though perhaps a trick of the mind, he swore the color from the very world faded... Everything appeared black and white, the trees twisted, growing taller, towering over him. The sounds of moaning rose up. Then it hit him. He was about to pass out...

Soon enough, David's pace began to slow... He exhaled heavy, wheezing breaths, and soon found himself struggling to see in a single directiom, as everything appeared in doubles. The heat overcame his face in one rapid rush; Oh no... He tried with all his might to stop; to slow down, yet it was hopeless. His knee exploded into a huge sweep of burning agony, as he fell to the floor with a great crash. He'd not let go of the girl; nor did he fall atop her. But he'd felt the full force of the collapse. Even if it was atop mostly grass. "We... Need to stop... Just - Just for a short while..." David said in a mere whisp, fighting a battle to remain conscious.

Skyla squeaked as he fell, yet she wasn't injured. Her eyes were bloodshot and teary, her cheeks flushed from crying. She quickly wiped the tears from her skin, leaving smudges of dirt smeared around her eyes.

She glides her hand over the back of his neck. She used to have a younger sister with Asthma, she was used to helping others with breathing issues. "Breathe.. just breathe.. in and out." She shouldn't be helping me, not after he had threatened them, and hit her, yet she was forgiving. Far more forgiving than anyone before. That was what she was known for before the world went to shit, being passionate, loving, forgiving, she never cursed, she was gentle.. or weak. That's how her father used to see her. She gently rubs between his shoulder blades, humming a soft song quietly. They were far from the zombies, which was good, yet sadness pricked and pulled at her heart. @Archon @Hiddencard @CentEX @Blarg222

As the woman explained that "Skyla" was her sister he could only stand there and watch how the things in the clearing evolved in disbelief. In such a big and dangerous world, two broken apart sisters finding each other this way was a crazy idea. The people in the clearing looked like they were now allies, with the big man who had previously gotten headbutted, picking up the girl he punched in the face and running for his life. Meanwhile, the army guy stayed behind buying the injured girl some time.

However, Asher wasn't able to watch how things would evolve anymore after the girl's question. “Can you fight or shoot?” Asher's eyes widen at the mention of fighting. She clearly wanted to help save her sister and looked really determined.
"Not really, no." Asher said with a worried look on his face. "But, I can try..." He wasn't a fighter, but he had to do something. If it weren't for the girl next to him, he would either still be pinned down to his spot or be zombie food, so he had to repay her, even though he didn't really want to. A part of his old more honest self came out, and repaying her was the only right thing to do in his mind. "So what's the plan...?"Asher said after letting out a big sigh, almost regretting his question.

Katja could see she didn’t have much time as the fighting began out there, and in the end she went with her gut-feeling. Her sister had been riled up enough for her to catch the meaning. She was almost surprised when the man beside her seemed to agree to help her. He was not a fighter it seemed, but he would do, this was a better position to shoot. “Shooting it is,” she let out a sigh. "There is exactly 6 bullet in this gun. Make them count. You don’t even have to approach, just…. shoot some of them please, and… try not to hit me,” she added. Hopeful to this stranger that she knew nothing about, not a name, not his abilities… nothing. She could only hope he wouldn’t run away with her weapon.

And she was even saving this other guy that she too didn’t know. Where was her head today! Then she grabbed around one of her knives and took in a deep breath. “I’m Katja,” she whispered and then made a run for it toward the stranger. She made a charge toward a nearby infected and slashed his neck open with a yell.

“Get up!” she commanded toward the soldier, turning her head to look him in the eyes for a second. He was on his knees at this point, as she charged toward another infected. “I don’t know who you are, but get up!” She called again. Her loud words were making the zombies primarily starting to focus on her, and she let out a strained sound between her teeth as they approached.

“Shooting it is.” The girl said. Asher was glad he was the one shooting. He wasn't a very good shot, but he used to go hunt with his father before the infected took over the world, so at least he knew how to handle fire arms. He was surprised at how easily the girl handed him a gun. If he wanted he could just run away with the gun, and even rob whatever she has in the process. But even though he had changed with time because of the apocalypse, he wasn't evil and didn't even want those thoughts crossing his mind. He was pleased that the girl trusted him. However, he wasn't thrilled after knowing he only had 6 bullets to waste on what seemed like dozens of zombies. Still, committed to his word, he was ready to (try to) shoot some monsters in the brain.

“I’m Katja.” The girl had whispered before making a run for it, giving not time for Asher to introduce himself. But there were no time for introductions, Asher had to cover Katja and the soldier and quickly. He elevated the gun and was aiming down the sights, waiting for the right time to start shooting. He only had 6 bullets so he had to make them count. Surprisingly, the young girl showed no fear and quickly tried bringing the soldier to his feet. Due to her loud voice, the infected were attracted to her. It was Asher's time to shine. As some of the zombies approached Katja, he started shooting. He pulled the trigger and hit one of the undead in the chest, missing the head completely. "Fuck..." He whispered under his breath. He took another shot, this time cleaning one of the zombie's head clean. With four shots left, and more and more zombies approaching, this seemed like a lost fight. "Come on, come on... Hurry up." He said to himself, while wasting two more bullets on some other infected that were approaching Katja and the soldier.

Glaz looked up as new figures began to enter the fray, and at the words he saw the infect turn their attention away from him, at that moment he snapped up with all he had left and picked up a hand sized rock nearby before using it to bludgeon the nearby zombie, aiding as much as he could. However something beyond his mind bothered him, as peeked to his left hand he saw the denture sized bite in it, the wound stinging as he moved on, he knew he needed to work fast. Among the dead infected he saw a fallen survivor, a machete strapped to his belt. He unsheathed the blade and brought it to his hand, any hesitation would kill him, and he brought it down with a mighty *chop*!

Skyla looked around, there wasn't any zombies, so they were safe. For now.

She looks to David, "I'm Skyla." She says quietly, trying to get his mind off of his pain. "What's your name?" She asks, she was watching as he was struggling to remain conscious. She needed to keep him talking, who knew how long he'd remain out of it if he passed out.

@Archon

Katja turned her head shocked as an infected approached her from behind, but in luck the man kept his word and covered her back, and the monster fell dead to the ground. Well, that certainly repaid his debt. She took in a breath, and as another infected came closer she lifted her knife and it bore into the infected’s shoulder. Not good. She gasped, and tried to wrestle it back. Her newly appointed sniper managed to cover her back in the struggle, but she was having a difficult time by now. “Damn it..” she whispered between clenched teeth. It aimed to bite her neck, So she let go of the knife and made the infected tumble forward.

She took in a heavy breath and looked over at the soldier, as he… cut off his hand. Shoot. She let out a breath in shock, but there was no time to stare, as the infected from before charged toward her. Her heart was pumping wildly and she reached for her last weapon.

“Get on your feet!” she yelled, knowing that another injury was probably not good, but they didn’t have much more time. She managed to kill the infected that came toward her, and as it dropped she ran over by his side and picked up his healthy arm to help him up on his feet. “You have to get up.”

"Come on.." She urges quietly, slowly hoisting the largee man up. He was taller than her, making it difficult for her to be used as cruch. She attempts to haul him up, yet falls to her knees under his weight. "C-come on.." She says quietly. "We don't have to run, yet we have to keep moving." She says softly. There was no telling own far behind the zombies were, they could be anywhere. She hears the groaning of a walker, and feels her sto machine churn in terror. "Oh no.." She whispers. She quickly pushes him onto his stomach, crouched low beside him. A walker aimlessly waddles in front of them, staring up at a tree that rustled in the breeze.

She looks around, and sees a large rock. She quickly grips it, using both hands. She leaps onto the walker, it screeches loudly, making Sky flinch. It snaps at her with its orange, rotting teeth. Without a second thought, or fear. She slams the rock against its skull. It groans and snaps at her weakly. She slams it down again. Again. Again. Again. She stood up slowly, her hands covered in rusty blood. She pants, her hand shaking with adrenaline.
